Cant find Oracle Service Bus samples

I downloaded and installed Oracle Service Bus 11.1.1.5, but when looking for examples, always documentation refers to this folder: "OSB_ORACLE_HOME/samples/servicebus/". I did a search on whole directory for the folder "servicebus", with no luck. Maybe a bad installation, or a missing feature of the domain?

Hi,
You can download the tutorial, which provides the links for the samples at: http://java.net/downloads/oraclesoasuite11g/OSB/osb_examples_tutorials_111140_and_later.pdf

  • Oracle OSB 11G. Unable to find Oracle Service Bus Configuration Page.

    Hi All,
    Sorry for the apparent silly question but I am studying and learning the product.
    I have the OSB 11G installed and running with a proxy service working and routing requests. The Oracle ESB documentation http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/doc.1111/e15866/ui_ref.htm#i1327746 at chapter 4.4.2 New Oracle Service Bus Configuration Project Wizard
    Use this wizard to create an Oracle Service Bus configuration project. For configuration options, see Section 4.4.3, "Oracle Service Bus Configuration Page."
    4.4.3 Oracle Service Bus Configuration Page.
    I don't see the configuration page in anywhere in the left pane of the console. Am I missing something? The project creation works fine but I just don't see the configuration Wizard.
    Thanks.
    Regards
    Salvatore Ilardo

    The link which you are referring is for user interface objects in the Oracle Service Bus plug-ins and OSB plug-ins are used with OEPE (Oracle Enterprise Pack for Ecplise) for OSB development. OEPE is the only supported IDE for OSB development as of now.
    Remember, at a time, one and only one Oracle Service Bus Configuration project can be deployed in a OSB domain which may contain desired number of Oracle Service Bus Projects and that's why there is no provision of creating Oracle Service Bus Configuration Project in sbconsole GUI. In IDE, you may create many Oracle Service Bus Configuration Project and that's why it has a Oracle Service Bus Configuration Project Wizard.

  • Oracle Service Bus: Sample Service callout

    Hi All,
    I am trying to do a service callout to a "Calculator" service which has two methods "add" & "subtract". Can any one please provide the steps to do it.
    Thanks in advance.
    regards,
    Nagarjuna.

    Create a SOAP call using the wsdl. This should be an option if you right-click anywhere in the design frame in JDev for the esb.
    When you reference the wsdl as part of your design time you should see 2 operations, depending on the rules you impose you should be able to route to the correct operation.
    if it is a BPEL process you should be able to just select the operation as part of implementing the routing rule.
    cheers

  • Oracle Service Bus and Financila Message Designer

    Hi,
    I am new to OSB and FMD so want some good working examples/samples which can explain how to call the FMD cartridge from OSB.

    Oracle Service Bus 10gR3 contains the JCA framework which will eventually allow us to exploit the whole set of JCA adapters currently in use in BPEL Process Manager. Over the next few months several JCA adapters will be certified to be used with Oracle Service Bus - the Database adapter is one of the first of these.
    As for SOA Suite and WebLogic bundling, let me explain. SOA Suite contains the following products:
    BPEL Process Manager
    Business Activity Monitoring
    Business Rules
    Web Services Manager
    Complex Event Processing
    B2B
    ESB (the old Oracle ESB product)
    Service Bus (formerly AquaLogic Service Bus from BEA)
    This does not come with an application server as the suite is hot-pluggable (i.e. can be used with a number of application servers). However, the preferred (and cheaper) approach is to purchase SOA Suite and WebLogic Suite (which contains iAS, WebLogic Enterprise Edition, Coherence, JRockit with 100ms deterministic garbage collection and WebLogic Operations Control). This is because some of the elements of the SOA Suite only currently run on iAS (B2B) and some only run on WebLogic Server (Oracle Service Bus) although in the future these will also become hot pluggable.
    To find out more, check out the SOA Suite and WebLogic Suite pages below:
    [SOA Suite|http://www.oracle.com/technologies/soa/soa-suite.html]
    [WebLogic Suite|http://www.oracle.com/appserver/weblogic/weblogic-suite.html]
    You will find the DataSheets are particularly useful for giving you an overview of the suite.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to log the exception using Log action in Oracle Service Bus

    Hi,
    Whenever an exception is raised how to log the exception using Log action in oracle service bus.After logging where I have to find the logged message.

    It would be in the log file for the managed server which ran the request. If you are logging the message at a lower level than your app server, however, you won't see it. You should be logging the exception at Error level.

  • SOAP Header Security in Oracle Service Bus

    Currently we are in the process of implementing the SOAP Header Security through Oracle Service Bus. We have a requirement that BPEL need to call a external web service. That web service will be registered in OSB. While making the call, the OSB need to add the SOAP security header(user name & Pwd) in proxy service before forwarding the request to business service. Can you please help me find some information about that.

    Hi Manoj,
    The request payload which is going to the target is
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    </soap:Header>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <man:GetDefaultRechargeValuesRequest xmlns:man="http://www.NII.com/ManagePrepaidRecharge/workflow/ManagePrepaidRecharge">string</man:GetDefaultRechargeValuesRequest>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    whereas the target expects the soap header populated. the payload expected by the target is
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <gsa:Authentication xmlns:gsa="http://www.nextel.com.br/Wbs/Gsa">
    <gsa:Account>test</gsa:Account>
    <gsa:Password>test</gsa:Password>
    <gsa:Guid>f65748e63b01</gsa:Guid>
    </gsa:Authentication>
    </soap:Header>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <man:GetDefaultRechargeValuesRequest xmlns:man="http://www.NII.com/ManagePrepaidRecharge/workflow/ManagePrepaidRecharge">string</man:GetDefaultRechargeValuesRequest>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    The Problem now is, when i call a business service(WSDL of the target) from a proxy service and when i set the above expression to the $header using replace action in the proxy service itself, the above expression,instead of going as a request to the business service, it is populated in the response.
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <soap:Header xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
    <gsa:Authentication xmlns:gsa="http://www.nextel.com.br/Wbs/Gsa">
    <gsa:Account>test</gsa:Account>
    <gsa:Password>test</gsa:Password>
    <gsa:Guid>f65748e63b01</gsa:Guid>
    </gsa:Authentication>
    </soap:Header>
    <soapenv:Body>
    <ns0:GetDefaultRechargeValuesResponse xmlns:ns0="http://www.NII.com/ManagePrepaidRecharge/workflow/ManagePrepaidRecharge">
    <ns0:StandardHeaderBlock>
    <ns2:ServiceState xmlns:ns2="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/StandardHeaderBlock">
    <ns2:errorCode>SOA_ERR_TARGET_SYSTEM_FAILURE</ns2:errorCode>
    <ns2:errorDesc>
    OSB Service Callout action received an error response
    </ns2:errorDesc>
    </ns2:ServiceState>
    </ns0:StandardHeaderBlock>
    </ns0:GetDefaultRechargeValuesResponse>
    </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    Since the authentication details are not reaching the target, it is giving a target system failure. Can you suggest a remedy to this please.

  • Query regarding the tutorial for Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10gR3)

    Hi,
    I am working on a tutorial of Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10gR3).
    I have created the proxy service and the Business Service, using Oracle Service Bus console.
    The details are as follows:
    Proxy service: LoanGateway
    Business service1: A value of 4.9 or less causes the message to be routed to the ManagerLoanReview business service.
    Business service2: A value of 5.0 or greater causes the message to be routed to the NormalLoan business service.
    When i send the request message, so that it gets routed from proxy service to one of the business service than it gives following error.

    I have the same problem and I'm not able to telnet localhost on port 7021. How can I change this port number I think that port must be 7001, it is correct?Examples server domain is pre-configured for port 7021. The samples domain will have the examples properly deployed in this domain out of box. You dont need to change any thing in {BEA_HOME}\osb_10.3\samples\domains\servicebus\config.
    I doubt this has to do something with firewall . Check the last statement in the log after starting the domain.

  • Access Oracle Service Bus objects from within a PBL program

    Followed instructions from Studio Reference documentation for cataloging Oracle Service Bus objects and embedded sample code but encountered http 404 not found error. Is there anyway to trace the call made to the Service Bus? I change the log message severity level for Workspace application to debug but the call is not logged. The following is the output from the log:

    You are receiving a 404 error which means that the binding to the SB is not correct or there is a problem with the SB end part of the integration.
    Are you able to test this successfully from an automatic activity for example aside from trying to use it within a screenflow ?

  • Getting error "URI index 0 is not valid" in Oracle Service Bus

    Dear Friends,
    I am receiving an error "URI index 0 is not valid" while executing Customization File in Oracle Service Bus. I am not able to figure out why it is happening. Please help.

    </xt:value>in your Customization File and try again.Hi Abhishek,
    I did the same thing. Actually, the deployment team was getting this error and they called me up to find out. I analyzed and sent the following response:-
    I was going through the Customization file. I removed all the elements from the file and started with only 1 envValueAssignments:-
    +<cus:envValueAssignments>+
    +<xt:envValueType>Service URI Weight</xt:envValueType>+
    +<xt:location>0</xt:location>+
    +<xt:owner>+
    +<xt:type>BusinessService</xt:type>+
    +<xt:path>CommonServices/Business Services/ServiceAddressV1RS</xt:path>+
    +</xt:owner>+
    +<xt:value xsi:type="xs:string" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">0</xt:value>+
    +</cus:envValueAssignments>+
    The customization file got executed perfectly. Then I added another envValueAssignments and it worked fine as well.
    Now, when I added
    +<cus:envValueAssignments>+
    +<xt:envValueType>Service URI Table</xt:envValueType>+
    +<xt:location xsi:nil="true"/>+
    +<xt:owner>+
    +<xt:type>BusinessService</xt:type>+
    +<xt:path>CommonServices/Business Services/ServiceAddressV1RS</xt:path>+
    +</xt:owner>+
    +<xt:value>+
    +<tableElement xmlns:tran="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports">+
    +<URI>http://app-1ip-alsb-01.corp.intranet/ServiceAddressV1Proxy</URI>+
    +<weight>0</weight>+
    +</tableElement>+
    +</xt:value>+
    +</cus:envValueAssignments>+
    +, I got the above error, ie URI index 0 is not valid. If you check each element then you will know that tableElement defines a namespace as xmlns:tran="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports" which is neither being used by the node nor its child elements. Also the error in server logs was:-com.bea.wli.sb.transports.TransportException: URI index 0 is not valid.+
    It stuck that we were doing something wrong here. I checked other elements in the same file and found that some of them were starting the node as <tableElement xmlns="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports">. So, tableElements should be qualified with this namespace:-http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports. It was clear there was issue with qualified name of the element and hence I added the prefix "tran" and made entry as:-
    +<tran:tableElement xmlns:tran="http://www.bea.com/wli/sb/transports">+
    +<tran:URI>http://app-1ip-alsb-01.corp.intranet/ServiceAddressV1Proxy</tran:URI>+
    +<tran:weight>0</tran:weight>+
    +</tran:tableElement>+
    When I executed the changed customization file it worked. I checked with few more elements and they all worked making me sure that this was the error.
    So, the issue was that the OSB was not able to find any URI and for index 0 there was no URI available. Hence we were getting a weird error which was not at all user friendly. However, while making the OSb they must have thought that no one will make any manual changes (by hand in the file) and this error would be sufficient to tell that there is something wrong with the customization and we must regenerate the customization file.
    Only solution that we do not receive this error in future is rather than making changes to the customization file manually we should use OSB console or scripts to replace the properties. Otherwise we need to be very careful while touching the Customization file.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle Service Bus 11gR3(11.1.1.3.0) Clustering Configuration Error.

    Hi ,
    I am trying to configure a domain with a AdminServer and 2 Managed servers hosting Oracle Service Bus.
    I created a admin server and it started up fine. Then i extended the domain and checked on Oracle Service Bus and tried to create two managed servers and assigned it to a cluster.
    Though when i created a managed server assigned to a cluster it was all working fine. I would like to create another managed server and assign it to the cluster.
    Any help with this problem would be very helpful.
    As soon as I assign two servers to the cluster I get an exception and the Configuration Wizard throws exception.

    Anuj,
    Thanks for your reply.
    May be i was not too clear in my previous post.
    I do not see this problem when i start the managed servers.
    I stumble across this problem when i try to configure a cluster containing two managed servers in the configuration wizard. Earlier i had run the rcu utility while installing OSB on top of weblogic server.
    So when i try to create a domain with osb it checks for DEV_SOAINFRA and i change the default derby connection to oracle(my database) and then to test i tried creating a cluster with one managed server it seemed to be working fine.
    Now i tried creating two managed servers in a cluster in configuration wizard as soon as i try to assign one managed server to cluster its fine , once i assign the second managed server it fails with that exception and the configuration wizard displays error occured and it terminates.
    The exact problem is as soon as i assign two managed servers to a cluster it fails(configuration wizard)
    I would guess its a problem creating a distributed jsm system with queue and topics that osb uses.
    Note : - It would be helpful as well if i can somehow create a distributed jms system used by osb for other managed server (using WLST), and then i can create a new managed server in the Admin console and assign it to the cluster as well.

  • Oracle service bus and database connectivity

    Since currently OSB does not support Adapter Framework, what are currently options for using DB Adapter type functionality in Oracle Service Bus (ALSB).
    It seems JMS and other transports are very well supported, but how do we use DB Services?
    Please if someone can provide some insight into this.
    thanks

    [WebLogic Suite|http://www.oracle.com/appserver/weblogic/weblogic-suite.html]

  • Oracle service bus and composing two web services

    All,
    Do let me know your thoughts on this.
    Currently we have two web services
    Web Service 1 - Verify Eligibility
    Web Service 2 - Approve Proposal
    Web Service 1 has one operation and accepts a well defined set of input parameters similarly web service 2 also exposes a single operation and accepts a set of input parameters.
    These are deployed and running in our environment.
    Now we have a requirement to stitch together these two web services and expose them as one single composite web service on the Oracle Service Bus 11g.
    I want to create a proxy service on the OSB as unified web service (having its own WSDL) by composing the operations and input plus output parameters of the aforementioned two web services.
    This way we can publish the WSDL to the front-end apps and they will trigger it with the required parameters and the proxy service will orchestrate the call to WS1 and WS2 and send the final output back to the calling client.
    I was able to create an outbound call from the Proxy service to the underlying business services but I am not able to expose the Proxy service as web service with a WSDL i.e. create the proxy service by choosing operations of Web service 1 and web service 2
    Please let me know your thoughts on this.
    Regards,
    Sushant

    Thanks Atheek
    The proxy service I tried to create orchestrate 2 web services.
    But where we are struggling is How can i make this proxy service (composite) as a web service along with the WSDL.
    The proxy service should be able to accept calls from the client with set of inputs representing both the underlying web services and coordinate calls b/w these two services and return consolidated output back to the calling client.
    I am not finding a way to create a proxy service (web service along with the wsdl) which is representative of the underlying web services in a consolidated manner that can accepts inputs on behalf of both the underlying web services, orchestrate calls b/w the 2 web services and return the final output back to the calling client.
    example modified to keep it brief
    web service1
    operation name: Verify Eligibility
    Input: Complex type (String name, int Id, String address)
    Output: Complex type(String approval status, int Id, String reason)
    web service2
    operation name: Approve Proposal
    input: Complex type(String approval status, int Id, String reason, int Amount, int EmployeeCount)
    Output: Complex type (String final status, String recommendation)
    Composite Proxy Web Service
    name: Composite Eligibility and Approval
    Input: Complex type ( String name, int Id, String address, int Amount, int EmployeeCount)
    Output: Complex type(String approval status, int Id, String reason,String final status, String recommendation)
    The composite proxy should be created in a manner to jam the inputs of both the underlying web services and expose a representative interface on behalf of both the web services. This composite web service interface creation (WSDL) is where we are struggling a bit.
    Because the calling clients need a unified WSDL to able to communicate with the composite web service.
    Do post your thoughts.
    Thanks Again,
    Sushant

  • Tuxedo 11gR2 and Oracle Service Bus

    Windows platform (2008 r2)
    Hi
    I am looking to call a number of web services on an Oracle Service Bus.
    Do I need to use SALT? If so, is there a license cost associated wth this?
    What other options do I have?
    Thanks in advance.
    M

    Hi MI,
    Well the general usage of OSB involves creating service definitions as the services themselves (business services as they are called in OSB) are actually someplace else. OSB acts as an intelligent proxy for those services. So for the client side, i.e., the caller of the service, you define a proxy service that the client can then call using whatever transport was chosen. So if you need to have a web services (SOAP/HTTP) client call a service, you define a web services proxy. Likewise if you need a JMS client to call the service, you create a JMS based proxy service. On the server side, you then create a business service which tells OSB how to call the actual service. A pipeline is then defined that describes how the proxy service is connected to the business service. This "connection" may define payload transformations, synch to asynch mediation, routing, failover, etc. that need to occur. The pipeline also describes the reply path as well, so transformation, message enhancement, etc., can all occur on the service reply message.
    There used to be examples that shipped with OSB, and I assume there are still some. The Tuxedo Transport ones may have been moved to OTN. Try searching this forum or the web for OSB Tuxedo Transport samples if you need them.

    Todd Little

  • [OSB] Oracle Service Bus: select database DBadapter runtime

    Suppose you have 2 databases DB1 and DB2 and both have the SCOTT scheme with the EMP table. The default way to gain access to the databases in the Oracle Service Bus (OSB) is by defining 2 database adapters and defining a business service on each adapter:
    - BS1 DBadapter1 DB1.SCOTT.EMP
    - BS2 DBadapter2 DB2.SCOTT.EMP
    With this setup you can define a proxy service and let the message flow decide which adapter to call.
    Now change this configuration a little and suppose you have 25 databases, you can define 25 database adapters and 25 business services, but that involves a lot of repeating work of defining adapters and business services. A more elegant configuration is one business service with one database adapter, and the database connection is set runtime in stead of design time.
    PS BS DBadapter DB1.SCOTT.EMP ... DB25.SCOTT.EMP
    The challenge is: how do you configure the database adapter runtime (called by an OSB business service).
    With kind regards,
    Jornica
