Cant install air-flex projects

Hello, my AIR applications cant be installed in my system
because Windows do not recognizes files with .air extension.
Do you know if is needed additional software (like Adobe AIR
Runtime) to install my air based flex projects? I thought that the
installers detected if you have or not the necessary libraries to
run the file.

How to import your Air/Flex project from FB 4.6 to FB4.7

It seems so easy.. however, I can't figure out how to do it.
I used to build my projects (Air projects with merged SDK) in FB4, FB4.5 later FB4.6 and now 4.7. But when I import my old project, it gets an old 3.4 AIR SDK. Wtf?
When I go to the project settings and want to change the sdk to my Flex 4.6 with Air 4.0 SDK, I cant! it sais "This project will use AIR SDK 3.4".
So I go to FB settings, add the new SDK in Flex SDK's but still I can't change the SDK from my project.
When I create a new Flex project, I can select the right SDK's. But I never made a Flex project. I make Air projects.
So it seems to me that Flash builder 4.7 can have multiple Flex SDK's (merged or not) for Flex projects only, and just one SDK for Air projects which you can't be changed.
O and the default is also freaking old.
Now who the hell came up with that stuff at Adobe?...
So I located the Air SDK my FB is using, and replaced it with my Flex4.7 and Air4.0 SDK. No luck, whole FB went nuts.
Anyone has a clue?

FlashBuilder (doesn't matter what version) screws this up all the time. There are so many files related to configuration of the workspace, the projects within the workspace and the eclipse environment that it gets messed up all the time.
I never have this problem in other editors Eclipse based editors like InteliJ, Aptana, FDT etc. It's just Adobe growing / extending a tool which has bad programming in it and not bothering to go back and fix the root of the problem before expanding on it. FlashBuilder doesn't get the attention it deserves from Adobe. If they are not careful in the not too distant future when WebGL is supported on all the major web browsers and tools are released to translate WebGL to OpenGL ES iOS and Android applications AIR might see itself becoming a thing of the past. Esepcially when the tools can't even save the state of the projects they themselves created correctly.

Cant Install Air Apps(winxp)

hey, im making software for a client and i installed newest version of air on his winxp laptop and tried installing my app on his machine by opening the .air in airinstaller and got a "cant install app is damaged get another version from developer" (or something to that effect) and wen i try to install any air app with the badge it gives an error as well. ive searched around for an anwser and there seemsd to be others with this problem and it seemed like adobe was trying to stop it back in 08 and was wondering if anyone has a solution for this problem yet? i tried clearing the temp and i dont know if xp has "certifications" and if it does i dont know how to clear those.
any help is appreciated!

Cant install AIR for Android on HTC Legend

Is Air for android compatible with the HTC Legend?
I have a legend running Android 2.2, but the market will not allow me to install the app. I thought it might be a temporary error so I downloaded an APK from the web, it fails and says cannot install.
The legend plays flash content in 2.2, so i cant see why AIR wouldnt be supported?

I also have an HTC Legend, and I'm trying to make some tutorials about publishing from Flash Builder to Android.
I've notice this also, and I must say, it's a complete deception that AIR cannot support this phone, and certainly it seems that upgrading to the Android 2.2 was a bad option, since I defenitly was able to make a simple flash game, and some other exeperiments, and got them to work with AIR when this phone had Android 2.1
If it runs on Android 2.1, maybe it was a an upgrade that make AIR incompatible with this device on Android 2.2. Is there any way of running it, maybe forcing to install a AIR version that works.
I was starting to program on Flash Builder, and experimenting on my Legend, but now I stumbled on this.

I can install flex builder 2 normally but I cant install
anymore flex builder 3... Im on winXP.

You're probably running into the servers simply being swamped. Thousands of people are all going for the software update at the same time. Give it a try again and if that doesn't work, then try plugging it into your computer and trying it that way.
I didn't get a notion of the size, it doesn't seem to be as big as the 700 meg 5.0 update, but it did take me 20+ minutes to download via cable internet so it's a large file. That in and of itself takes a while.
If you're trying to download it directly to your iPhone, you'll need to be on wifi since I'm sure it's well over the 20 meg file size limit for 3G.

Air Flex with work problem in swfLoader...

I have a problem with swfLoader in Air Flex. I create a swf flash that must be loaded into Air application. When I run it insde of Flex Builder, all is ok. But when I install it, the embed flash dont work in component "InputText" and the TextField (in mode "InputText")... Simply I cant click in this and keyboarding... The problem dont is in SandBox...

Due to some reason the text input fields used inside the flash presentation are not editable only when the application is running on installed AIR.
When the flash presentation is loaded in Flex it is not allowing the user click inside or edit the text input, to over come this we are setting the focus to text input field when ever the user clicks on it so that the cursor focus is set inside the text input field and user will be able to enter data.
Below is the code change implemented in flash.

Flex Project Inside Flex Project???

Im working on a Air project but i cant seem to get a componet working within that project. I can how ever get it working as a standalone project. What im wondering now is what are my options for embeding this flex project with my main project??

You can compile it into a swf from the standalone project and then load it into your Flex project using SWFLoader. Does that work for you?

You want to use your flex project in a CC2014 application? If yes, you have to rewrite your complete project to a HTML5 extension as Flex support was dropped in CC2014 (and all upcoming releases).
"Flash/Flex/AIR extensions run in APE (Adobe Player for Embedded). This product is deprecated, and, as stated above, will be removed from Creative Cloud products, starting in the middle of 2014. This means that developers must migrate their extensions to HTML5 if they want to continue to support them in Creative Cloud (CC) applications. Flash-based extensions will continue to run as before in versions CS5.x and CS6 of their host applications."

Not able to create a new Flex project in Eclipse

I am trying to use Flex Builder 3 eclipse plug-in for
development. But while creating a new Flex project in eclipse, I'm
getting the following error:
Template template.jst.web has not bee defined.
I am using Eclipse 3.3, and have installed the latest WTP
updates. Can someone point out what I'm missing here?

Do you get this error on every Flex Project you are trying to
create or just on Java/J2EE projects? Flex Builder beta doesn't
support WTP 2.0 but this shouldn't affect the other kind of
projects.

Can`t install air on Red Hat v.5.3

I have the following error while install air:"An error
occurred while installing Adobe Air. Installation may not be
allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator"
I log in like root, so I have all permission. I cant see any
error or any log, so I don´t have any clue what to search for.

I've always had to actually *be* root to install. But then
again my machines are pretty locked down.
For what it's worth, did you try sudo ./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin
? (I understand that you're already an admin, really just curious
here)

specifies how to create the installer log (just create an empty
file ".airinstall.log" in the same directory as your runtime
installer).
I'll try to get confirmation that this is still the proper
method for creating that log (it applies to AIR 1.0)
