Cant send mails with mountain lion

cant send mails with mountain lion, but i can recive....

Hi, i am having the same problem. this is what i have noticed.
I have 2 x imac's and 2 x macbook air's
i upgraded the 2 macbook air's and 1 of the imac's to Mountain Lion, all these have problems acessing sites that require you to login .
the one remaining imac is still running lion and works perfect.
i am using a dlink router with DD-WRT firmware, i tested teathering from my iphone and i can log into websites fine using the newly upgraded mac's.
It's not a wireless issue as my imac is using an ethernet connection.
is there a compatibility issue with some routers.

  • NHS mail with Mountain Lion

Anyone having problems with their NHS-mail using Mountain Lion (e.g. 10.8.4)?
Upon creating my NHS account on Mac-mail I have encountered repeated problems.
The mails disappear at random times or each time I reboot my Macbook Air. At random times, the mails begin to reload and then disappear again.
This did not happen with my previous Macbook Air, which had Snow Leopard, and it does not occur with my other email accounts with Mountain Lion.
I called Mac Support who suggested I remove the NHS-mail account from the Mac-mail and then recreat it, but this has not resolved the problem.
    Can anyone assist, please?

http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4363  - this is all I can suggest.
If they can't give you enough help, http://www.mail2web.com/ or http://www.altomail.com/ might work better at accessing it via web browser.   Microsoft Outlook for the Mac also has good Exchange support, but you have to buy the full Microsoft Office 2011 suite for the Mac.    Older versions may work as well, under Entourage.  Storing mail on your computer though can lead to significant data corruption of e-mail if you have large e-mail storage of over 4 GB.

  • Can't Send mail in Mountain Lion Mail

I am able to receive incoming email in Mail 6.0 but am unable to send messages.  First I got a message that the STMP server did not recognize my email address (nothing had changed other then upgrading to Mountain Lion), I spent some time with my ISP tech support, was able to send a couple of message by changing the settings, but now I am getting an error message that th STMP connection has failed.  I have a gmail account which works fine on the Chrome browser, iPad, and iPhone, but cannot consistently send from Mail 6.0.  What gives?

I am also having the same trouble with lion and mountain lion. the only thing i can think of is that there are too many people on the apple server and the mail application is completely distraught. The only other problem i can come up with is that the switch from me.com to iCloud caused the servers to fail. I hope that apple figures this out soon or else they will have a whole lot of phone calls coming with the new release of the ipad and ios 6. if there is anyone else out there (hopefully apple savvy people) that knows how to fix this problem, PLEEEEASE PLEEEEEASEEE PLEASEEEEEEEEE help us out. Thanks

  • Cant open Mail after Mountain lion update

So I updated my Macbook pro to mountain lion 10.8.2 and now when I go to open mail it says version 6.1 of mail cant be used  with this version of os x

Hi no real idea on this, but many Network connectivity issues have been solved by this...
Make a New Location, Using network locations in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2712
    10.7…
System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
    10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    Click OK.
    Also, turn off IPv6:
    System Preferences » Network » AirPort » TCP/IP tab » Configure IPv6
    Or whatever Interface you use.

  • Opening mail with mountain lion

I upgraded iMac to mountain lion and did something to inactivate the mail icon so that mail will open without accessing the Internet.

Look under the Mailbox menu and see if the option to take accounts online is available:

  • Cant send mail with Entourage

I had this working perfectly, sending mails using 2 different accounts (one was not with my ISP). Then I found myself offline and after a restart im back on but can only receive mail?
I can still send using a mobile broadband dongle.

Not much to go on there...
For one, did this work in the past but has now stopped working? or did it never work?
For two, the error message usually gives a better idea of why the message couldn't be sent... what else does it say?
Third.. what server are you trying to use? Are you trying to send via Yahoo's servers? and have you verified that your ISP isn't blocking? (some ISPs require you to send all mail through their mail servers to avoid spambot problems on their network - have you tried sending the mail through your ISP's mail server?)
Is it just Yahoo mail that's failing? or all mail?

  • Iphone - cant send mails with attachments

    Hi,
We run exchange 2007 & I have my account setup on my iphone but mails with attachments wont send they just sit in the outbox. Now other users in job have nokia E63 which they can send attachments without problems.
Both would use activesync but presume maybe in a different way & that i just might need to make some change on exhange.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Turns out a couple of components of AVG were causing the problem. Please see http://www.avg.com/us-en/faq?num=3254#tba7

  • HT5361 att mail with mountain lion setup

received email from att mail service that effective Dec 11 , Mac mail with no longer work without new settings. But att instructions for setup are only available for OS before Lion and mail 4.0 or lower. What are settings for newest OS and Lion?

    SSL = Secure Socket Layers.
When it's checked, data transmission between you and the server are encrypted.  Many email providers support this...some don't.

  • Another sending mail in Mountain Lion issue

Here's a strange one. My setup:
Mac Mail under OS X 10.8.2
Hard wired to an AEBS (i.e. not wireless)
2 users on the same machine
Each has an iCloud and a Gmail account. The accounts were set up from the Mail preferences pane (so the only info provided/required was the username and password.
    Here is the problem:
User 1: everything works as it should. I can send and receive email from and to both accounts.
User 2: cannot send email from the iCloud account. Everything else works.
The test email contains text only.
Here's the dialogue that pops up when trying to send mail from the User 2 iCloud account:
So it looks like it is trying to use the correct account. I deleted and then set up the iCloud account afresh. No change.
Can somebody please suggest how I might begin to diagnose this problem? There are plenty of similar sounding threads, but the prevalent solution is to amend the MTU size in wireless networks. I am hardwired and OS X has negotiated (or been given) a standard MTU of 1500. Thanks.

    Yes!

  • Mail with Mountain Lion

With Lion I was prompted to type in a password to access my mail. With ML it doesn't ask for a password. Is there a way that it will ask for a password before retrieving my mail?

  • Cant send mails with URL's

Have an annoying problem with sending out emails. I am running Mail 4.2.
If there are any URL's in the mail body copy or URL's in any document that is attached, the email just refuses to go out. An error message is returned with ' cannot send message using the server ...' with options like 'Edit Message' 'Try later' 'Edit SMTP Server List' etc., However, if all URL's are removed from the email body and the attached document (if any) the mail goes through.
Can someone please tell me how to solve this. Sending URL's in an email is very important to me.
I use my domain email hosted on godaddy servers. email.secureserver.com. Emails of the same domain configured on windows machines work perfectly.

Hi Roger. Thanks much. I configured Gmail and it goes through with Gmail SMTP. I will take this up with godaddy guys.
    You've been of great help.
    Thanks Again!

  • I cannot send mail in Mountain Lion

I get a "cannot send using server icloud" try later dialog box ( i can receive fine). I try later and it still doesnt send. I have run connection doctor and i get a green status but under details it is permanently on connecting to server.....as i send a mail i can see it try to send but the bit rate just fades to zero and then i get the above message . . . . aghhhh.

Open Finder and select Applications to open that. If you purchased it in the App Store, open App Store > Purchases and download it. If you purchased it in a disc, insert it and install iPhoto

  • Is their a conflict with Mountain Lion and e-mail responding on the macpro

IS THERE ISSUES WITH ACCESSING E-MAIL WITH MOUNTAIN LION ON MAC PRO'S WITH RECENT UPGRADES?  My e-mail is not responding and looks strange and I keep getting the Apple wheel spin.

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folder.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder — not just its contents — to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Quit and relaunch Mail, and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window. If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
