Cant send or receive emails with my nokia 300

my email is with slingshot so i go to messaging and setup my email address in other since slingshot comes under other email providers.... i put in my email addy and password and the phone accepts it and takes me to my inbox but when i try to send and receive emails it comes up and says >> could not send email, please try again....
i have spent about 4 hours on the phone 3 times to nokia in the phillipines of all places and they cant even help me get it working..... yet when i put in my hotmail addy it sends and receives straight away...
I have spoken to slingshot and vodafone & i have got the incoming and outgoing mail server details correct but the phone wont let me put them in the details for incoming and outgoing servers.... HOW STUPID IS THAT ????
the only way it will let me enter those details is by putting my email addy in wrong and then it lets me do it but then my email addy is wrong...cant bloody win
can anyone who is using slingshot email with a nokia asha 300 please help ??
thnx

  • Exchange 2013 cant send or receive email

    new server with clean install
    static IP
firewall is configured for smtp on port 25
    single exchange 2013 server
checked DNS settings in servers tab
checked mail connectors per MS KB's
deleted all connectors and rebuilt only 1 send and 1 receive connector
still not sending or receiving email they stay stuck in drafts and email never gets delivered coming in
    David Sheetz MCP

Can users send email to each other, in house? Is the Exchange Server part of a domain, if so, what OS is the Domain Controller? Check list to run through:
    1. Port 25 is forwarded to Exchange Server IP address
    2. Send Connector is using MX Records and using * for the domains
    3. Receive Connector has the appropriate domain listed for the Accepted Domains, ie. Contoso.com not just .local
    4. mailbox username convention has been specified and you clicked the "Apply" link to the right after creating the mailbox username policy
    5. After the above, go into Services and restart the Exchange Mailbox Store

  • Mac cant send or receive email.. or view some websites.. started yesterday.

I have to ask this question from our PC because the Mac cant even get to the "login" page for the Apple Discussions.
Apparently started yesterday after I got back from vacation. I cant view some pages that have a "log in" area. Specifically, I cant get to this place because the "log in" page times out. I cant get to my web panel for my domain host. I CAN log into our printers website, but when I go to the Manage Accounts link, that times out.
I also cannot get email.. sending or receiving.
I can do ALL of this from this PC I am on right now so it has to have something to do with the Mac. I tried logging into a different "User" on that machine but the same thing happens. I also cannot get any of the internet radio stations through iTunes.
I have shut down and restarted the Mac several times. I turned off the cable modem and unplugged the routers to let them reset. Still the same problem. Its like its a weird network issue on the Mac. Any thoughts would be appreciated. The Mac is our main production machine and this is causing me lots of issues. Thanks.

    Specifically?
Its trying to connect to the servers in the Activity Viewer.
Then in the Mail Connection Doctor window, for my account, it says "Could not connect to this POP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences"
For the items in my outbox that it tries to send, it tries for a minute or two then pops up one ofthe messages with a drop down that says "cannot send message using the server mail.charterinternet.com
Use the pop-up menu below to blah blah blah. It wants me to try a diff outgoing mail server. We dont have a diff outgoing mail server. ISP confirmed there were no email outtages. So I just have to hit "Try again later" button to get rid of that.
As for the other email accounts, they get the same message in the connection doctor that I stated above with my account.
The email works fine via webmail (logged in through Safari).. and the mail works fine in Opera on this PC.

  • Exchange 2010 can't send or receive email with attachments.

    Hello,
We have an Exchange 2010 server, running under Windows 2008R2. Both the server and Exchange are current for Windows and Exchange updates. Exchange is on SP3 installed about a month ago with no errors reported in the event logs.
The problem is that attachments over about 1 MB do not send or receive and no error message is returned. If I send an email message with a 3 MB attachment to myself, it reports as sent in Outlook. On the Exchange server the message queue shows nothing in
the queue. I try to use Exchange mail flow tracking tool and it hangs when selecting “messages received from” option. I gave up waiting after 5 minutes for the display to populate.
As the server is set attachments should be able to send and receive up to 20 MB.
I checked and verified all settings I could find related to this. I checked with the Exchange Management Console per the following article:
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2010/management-administration/managing-limits-exchange-server-2010-part1.html
I also checked using the Exchange Power Shell using the following article:
    http://eightwone.com/2010/09/29/exchange-message-size-limits/
Both show that all settings are suitable. Details are below
I would appreciate feedback on this problem.
    Thank you!
Details from the articles noted above:
First test was to attach a 3 mb text file in Outlook sent from my in house account to my in house account. After 5 minutes the test message was not received nor was there an error message returned.
Checked The Exchange server mail queue and there was nothing in the queue. Checked the Exchange mail flow tracking tool and it hung when selecting “messages received from” option.

Alright, not sure why but the other night I was trying to send an email and it wouldn't send and it was working fine the day before. All it was saying is "The connection to the server “mail.mac.com” on port 993 timed out". Any ideas on a fix? Thanks

  • Cant send or receive email from my Iphone5 icloud account, what changes in the Settings should I do?

i have an existing me.com email on my IPAD2, then i had my iphone 5 activated, created an Icloud email, which is not working.
The outgoing email was rejected by the server. What changes do i need to do on the Settings to correct this?

If the settings are correct?, Then delete the account and start over. You may also try to restart your phone by holding the home and off button down till the apple symbol comes up.

  • Can no longer send or receive email from any account after Security Update

    Hello,
I have a problem with my email in Mail. I let software update install the latest security update (007) a few days ago. I have not been able to send or receive my email since the update. I have several accounts and use Mail as my client for all. This includes my mac.com account, 3 att.net accounts and my website email. All give me the same error which is an SSL thing and has something to do with the certificates. I am able to receive email if I turn SSL off on the ATT accounts but not the mac.com (and if I try to collect my email with SSL off I get an angry message from ATT warning me I am not allowed to do so) and I cannot send any at all from any account.
The error message reads "unable to connect- there may be a problem with the mail server or network.... The server error encountered was: Mail was unable to verify the identity of this server, which has a certificated issued to "mail.mac.com". The error was: An SSL error occured while trying to read data from the server. Verify this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct". It then states that the certificate could not be verified.
The certificate date on the mac.com account reads May, 29th , 2010.
I also have an iMac and a MacBook Pro which are also running Tiger. I have not and will not run the security update on these machines until I find out why it has messed up my email on the G5. I can still send and receive email with the exact same account settings on the MacBook so I know it is not the settings but something to do with the Security Update.
Has anyone else had trouble with this update? Any advice?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
I don't know if this is a corrupted preference file or not, but it sure can't hurt to try this.
If Mail is open, Quit Mail.
    /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Drag that .plist file to the Desktop. Launch Mail and see if you can send or receive e-mail. If you can, that .plist file is corrupted. Drag it to the trash, empty the trash and reboot. Your Mac will create a new preference file for you the next time you launch Mail.
Also... run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility is in your Applications/Utilities folder. Launch DU, select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, click Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

  • I cannot send or receive email attachments that are password protected

I am able to send and receive emails with UN-password protected documents, but ones that have are protected or have protected fields within the document I cannot send or receive. Additionally, I do not get any notification that the email was not accepted; BIG problem!
