Captivate 6 - How to stop reloading swf?

Hello!
I made Flash Drag&Drop interaction and I imported it into Captivate 6.
Unfortunately the interaction restarts every time I revisit the slide and I have to drag and drop from the beginning.
I want swf to load only once.
I suppose I should use write something in Action Script, but I don't know what.
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

You should also look into the size of your images in your content.  They may be far larger than they need to be.
Try going to each slide, selecting an image and clicking the option in Properties tab to Reset to Original Size.  If you find images are then resizing huge, you need to go back to your source images, open them in a graphics editor (e.g. Photoshop or similar) resize the physical dimensions of the image so that they match the pixel dimensions required for your Captivate slide, create a version of the image at that size, and import THAT image into Captivate for your slide.
If your images are all way huge, then this can significantly bloat the published file size.
Finally, if there are any video files in your project, this will also likely blow the filesize out.

  • How to Force Reloading SWF in HTML

    Hi - I have a large Flash application that is loaded in the
    normal way in an HTML file. If I change the SWF file and upload it
    to the web server, the new SWF is not loaded unless I go to the
    delete files option within Internet Explorer. How can I force the
    SWF to reload in HTML if it's changed since the last time it was
    downloaded?
    Here is the basic code:
    <object
    classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0"
    width="980" height="750" id="cicalive" align="middle">
    <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" />
    <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" />
    <param name="movie" value="cicalive.swf" /><param
    name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor"
    value="#0f2b43" /> <embed src="cicalive.swf" quality="high"
    bgcolor="#0f2b43" width="980" height="750" name="cicalive"
    align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"
    allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
    pluginspage="
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"
    />
    </object>

    Ok, thanks. I can just add a date/time stamp or a version
    number to the .swf file each time I upload a new file.

  • In Flex 3 how to Stop and Replay .swf animation created in Flash

    Hi
    I have an animation file that is created in Flash (I think
    CS3). In Flex if I import it inside a SWFLoader or if I import it
    as an Image. It plays once and stops. Then I can not replay it. I
    also can not pause it when its playing.
    I have tried few things based on help and code available in
    the Web to of no help. I have tried to convert the swfLoader
    instance to a movie clip like so to stop
    var c:MovieClip = swfLoaderHeaddress1.content as MovieClip;
    c.stop();
    <mx:SWFLoader x="53" y="116" width="206" height="255.3"
    visible="true"
    source="assets/animations/curatorial/ZoomHeadress_2nd.swf"
    id="swfLoaderHeaddress1"/>
    It does not work.
    I have not created the .swf animation, I am not sure how it
    is done. I belive it may not be using any ActionScript as I know
    the artist who created it does not know ActionScript. Does
    something need to be done inside the Flash to support the stop and
    play? Or is there a way to restart/replay stop a .swf animation in
    Flex 3 no matter how (and whether or not its developed using
    ActionScript) its developed in Flash?

    One way is she has to add some AS code to the animation, or
    you can do it yourself.
    In swf there must be something like this:
    var connReciever:LocalConnection = new LocalConnection();
    connReciever.client = this;
    connReciever.connect("fromFlexToSWF");
    function myFunction(parameter:SomeClass):void {...}
    And in Flex:
    var connSender:LocalConnection = new LocalConnection();
    connSender.send("fromFlexToSWF", "myFunction", [..args]);
    The other way: in case with just play/stop there is a way to
    resolve this by using that Flex Component Kit (or maybe "Flex Skin
    Design Extension", i do not remember), it is something like she
    just adding labels to animation frames then she exports it with
    Flex Kit and then you can work with it like with an object with
    "states".

  • How to stop irritating auto-reloading of the tabs (pages) [i don't have any extensions or apps]

    Seems like this problem appeared quite often, nevertheless i spent an hour in search of an answer surfing the net, alas, nothing..
    Problem: since today Safari started to reload almost every single page whenever i switch between tabs or sometimes even while im stil on the page. Fot example - i'm watching a movie, stoped it - switched to facebook tab to reply to my friend, then back to the tab with the video & no sooner i get back as the page with video auto-refreshes itself & i have to load movie again & look for the place i stoped watching the video to continue!
    Device & program version: Macbook Pro, bought in july, Safari Version 5.1 (6534.50), No extensions or apps installed, & pls dont' say that it happens on particular pages, i visited the same ones yesterday & everything was ok, since today it's working all weird, and happens within all pages. But in the same time no system - once it reloads the page, other time im switching between the same very tabs it doesn't.
    This is unacceptable & completely useless. Why there are no comments from Apple or Safari team, as if the problem doesnt exist? Not speaking of the problem solving process or tips.
    Please, if someone knows how to stop this nightmare - tell me!!
    Apple-team, I would love to hear your comments & in fact receive some help and get this problem fixed.. :\
    (P.S. - person with the same problem posted a message year before, no effective reply.. - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2356901?start=0&tstart=0 )

  • How to stop push auto reloads

    ''locking as a duplicate of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/987455''
    How can I stop websites from automatically reloading their page while I am or am not viewing it (drudge report, cbs, etc).
    I have asked this question before but never receive a useable answer - although there must surely be one. An Addon would be great.
    Thank you,
    David

    Drudge report uses JavaScript to reload the page automatically every 3 minutes.
    You can use this bookmarklet to disable this reload or you can disable JavaScript in the tab after the page has loaded.
    <pre><nowiki>javascript:clearInterval(timer);void(autoRefresh=null);
    </nowiki></pre>

    For other websites you will have to check what will work to stop reloading their pages as each website uses their own way to accomplish this.

  • HELP - How to stop audio from starting when captivate loads

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to work out how to stop my audio files attached to objects (images) from playing when captivate initially loads.  I have a number of images with audio and when captivate initially loads all of the audios play at once which isn't good.  I only want the audio associated with the object to play when the user clicks the item.
    I've been researching for days and can't find an answer.  Am I doing something wrong, or am I overlooking something.?
    Could someone PLEASE help me with this or at least put me in the right direction.  Any suggestions will be appreciated!!!
    Jasmin

    To achieve that you have to separate the audio from the image. The principle I explained in this article http://lilybiri.posterous.com/audio-objects-control-them
    The audio will play when the object to which it is attached gets visible. If you attach the audio to another object like a non-visible highlight box (that is my 'audio object' but you can use also a non-visible drawing object), you can set this 'audio object' to invisible in its Properties panel. When the user clicks on the click box, execute the action 'Show audio object' and the audio will play. I would even recommend using advanced standard actions over a simple action because you will be able to hide the other audio objects at the same time, and the play head will not be released - see video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3nKi-DB6Fw&feature=plcp
    You have to know that hiding an audio object, will pause the audio. If you show it again, it will continue playing, not restart.

  • I installed Firefox 4 but don't have the integrated stop/reload button in the awesome bar. It's simply not there. How can I get it to appear?

    I'm using a PC laptop. I have installed firefox 4 on my other computers and the stop/reload button was there after the install. When I installed it on this computer it never showed up. All I had were the stop reload buttons in my toolbar, taking up valuable real estate.

    Follow these steps to fix it:
    Firefox Menu > Options > Toolbar Layout > Place your Reload button to the left of the Stop button and they will integrate after you close the Customize Toolbar box. Do the same, but place them to the right of the address bar and they will integrate into the address bar.
    Hope this helps!

  • My stop,reload,copy cut are missing from my tool bar . how do I get them back

    under the file ,edit tool bar You have a set of controls for stop,reload, cut, paste, copy etc, this second row of commands are missing

    NOV 2011:- Right click on the toolbar, and click customise. (You might have to go to different parts of the toolbar until it works) Then just drag the icons to the toolbar. Easy, although I don't know why they keep changing things - very frustrating!

  • Is there any way to prevent the right click context menu from combining Stop/Reload?

    Is there any way (about:config tweak, or something) to prevent the right click context menu from combining Stop/Reload?
    Screenshot of what I'm talking about: http://picsend.net/images/873089StupidReloadSto.png

    I did try the add-on ''Menu Editor'' https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ but even when I separate the navigation reload and stop icons and explicitly have both stop and reload set to be visible on the right click context menu I only get the one option showing.
    Whilst there may be some way of changing this I do not know how to and I do not really see any use case for making such a change. Only one option of the choice: stop or reload, is available at any instance in time, but that is the option you are able to use, the other option is not active and so is not displayed.

  • Captivate 7: How to make the output fit-to-screen

    Hi Everyone,
    For the long time, I was in search of making the published SWF be able to display the project as fitting to the screen. I was previously using Captivate 5.5. But now, I'm using Captivate 7. Does anyone know how to make the same thing happen to the SWF file? I previously had to make a change in the HTML script. But that same script line does not exist in the HTML file published from Captivate 7.
    Please be aware that I don't know much about HTML scripts. So please be explicit with your assistance.
    Thank you in advance for any assistance that you can provide.

    Hi there
    In Captivate 7, when you publish in SWF format, choose the option titled "Scalable HTML Content".
    Cheers... Rick

  • Captivate 7: How to troubleshoot video not playing.

    I've received MP4 files from a client and converted them to FLV. I created a blank project, added a Content-Center slide. Loaded an FLV video file. Previewed in Captivate no problem. Published and reviewed no problem. Load the SWF file to the company Intranet and the slide displays but the video object is not included. What am I doing wrong?

    Don't assume anything.  You need to CHECK where the video is located.
    You also seem to be assuming that since you uploaded the SWF file that your video is somewhere inside the SWF and must have therefore arrived at the intended destination.
    This is also incorrect because Captivate does not encapsulate videos INSIDE SWF files.  All videos are externalized nowadays.  So if you upload an SWF, that's all you've uploaded.  No video.
    Additionally, Captivate SWFs require the HTM and JavaScript files that Captivate also publishes in order for everything to work.  If you do not upload all required files, your content will not play properly for end users.
    I'm hoping by "company intranet" you mean an actual web server, not just a company LAN?  And if you're uploading to a Dropbox account, you may also run into issues with playback unless your business partners download the entire set of required files to a folder on their PC, AND make sure that folder is set up as a trusted location in their Flash Global Security settings:

  • How to stop a page that is partially downloaded?

    Often I want to stop a page in mid-downloaded and keep it for a while. I don't want to kill it. In Firefox 5 I can't see how to do this.

    Firefox 4.0 / 5.0 have a combined Reload, Stop, & Go button that appears at the right end of the location bar. Only one function is ever active at any one time, so combining them save UI space was a good idea. '''When a page is loading, it is a "Stop" button''', when it finished loading, it turns into a "Reload" button, and when you start to type something into the Location bar it turns into a "Go" button.
    To restore the Firefox 3 appearance you can use these steps:
    * Open the "View > Toolbars > '''Customize'''" window or right-click a vacant area on a Toolbar, ''except fot the Bookmarks Toolbar''.
    * Then drag'n'drop the Reload and Stop buttons to their previous position at the left side of the Location bar.
    # Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
    # Or "Reload - Stop" then put a flexible space in between the two to prevent the buttons from combining.
    # Set the order to "Stop - Reload" to separate them and get two distinct buttons.
