Captivate 7 to Captivate 8 Upgrade of Subscription

How can I be sure that my subscription has "converted" to Captivate 8 and that my products will not expire?
I have a subscription to Adobe Captivate and just upgraded from 7 to 8. I installed 8 as a trial first while I was running Captivate 7. I had a problem with the Captivate 6 upgrade from 5.5 and had to uninstall the trial, reinstall and republish lots of files even though they were published with a licensed version of Captivate 6.
I will have approximately 15 modules created in my licensed Captivate 7 and another 50 in Captivate 8 and I cannot risk having them expire on the client's LMS. I cannot see my serial number with the subscription in order to confirm that it is truly running a licensed version and not the trial.

Hi Ayman,
The CAD client will be updated automatically when the agents login after the upgrade.  They will need to have admin rights on their PC for this upgrade to complete.
The second node can be added after the upgrade on the first node has been completed.
I recommend changing the IP address only after the upgrade has been completed and the cluster is stable.  The exact steps are found in the 8.0 Admin Guide.  There is a "Readiness Check" here to make sure the change won't cause any problems.  It's important to note that the hostname cannot be changed.

    With my account i have called bangladesh for 300 min. its in a reccuring process so it will renew on the correct date...and i will be able to call bangladesh becuase my subscription was brought before skype decided to delete bangladesh from the UNLIMITED LIST.
    So now if i upgrade my subscription to unlimited...will i still be able to call bangladesh. because i am not cancelling my subscription im just upgrading it.

    Your account shows that you have a 300 minutes Subscription which includes Bangladesh as a destination to call landlines only. You can't purchase or upgrade to an unlimited version as that option doesn't exist anymore.

  • I am migrating from Tech Comm Suite, eLearning Suite, and Captivate licenses to a subscription model.  I need help.

    I already have an Adobe account that is associated with my work email.  We had purchased the Tech Comm Suite for Captivate and the eLearning Suite.  Adobe is not offering Captivate 8 as part of an eLearning Suite, but I DO need to upgrade.  I also would like to keep the other apps in both suites up to date, so we want to purchase a Creative Cloud subscription.  I don't have a clue where the serial numbers are kept, and as far as I know, the serial numbers don't show up anywhere in the app anymore.  Additionally, I cannot enter the billing information for my subscription because we have to make the purchase on a p-card owned by our administrative assistant.  So what I want to know is how to purchase a subscription for both Creative Cloud and Captivate that is associated with my email account without giving my login information to the administrative assistant?
    Is it possible to purchase a team subscription and add my email address to the team?  I have to give explicit instructions to our admin.

  • Captivate 6 Upgrade, Master Widget No Longer Working?

    Hello,
    The last time I was on the forums, I was trying to find a way to quiz our learners using click boxes. We had two click boxes on one slide, the learner could choose either and it would be correct. After a lot of discussion and help, I finally bought the Interactive Master Widget. This has been extremely helpful, and I have had no problems with it, until now.
    I recently did the upgrade to Captivate 6 (and I am a subscriber so I did the newest Subscription Upgrade), and the Master Widget slides are "freezing." I ran the course all the way through with no problems, but when I got to the slide with the Master Widget, I cannot click either of the click boxes, or in any area that will allow me to advance.
    I have several courses that depend on the Master Widget, and they are all behaving similarly.
    Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Captivate 6.1 Version has changed something in the underlying code that seems to have broken ALL of the current Infosemantics interactive widgets, even though those same widgets were compatible with Capitvate 6.0 or 6.01.
    We have notified Adobe about this issue and are waiting to hear back from them.  At this time Infosemantics does not have a solution.

    We bought Captivate 6 as a volume license with a two-year ASA maintenance and support agreement, which is supposed to include all patches and upgrades. That already got us upgraded from Captivate 6 to 7. However, we've had no similar message regarding the upgrade to Captivate 8. As suggested in another discussion, I tried downloading the Cap 8 trial and using our Cap 7 serial number, but it was not accepted.

  • Captivate 3 Upgrade Won't Install

    We have been using Captivate 2 since April at our hospital
    for information systems training. We were very excited to learn of
    Captivate 3, and were able to persuade our administration to
    purchase two upgrades and one full install as soon as it was
    released. The full install version installed perfectly to the PC
    for which it was intended, which did
    not have Captivate 2 on it. However, on my PC and my
    co-worker's that had the previous Captivate 2 installs (side note -
    , the installation proceeds all the way until the end, with a
    Captivate 3 directory in C:\Program Files\Adobe with all of the
    correct files...and then just when it should be completing, it
    stops, and states that it is "Rolling Back" the action, and ends
    with a box stating that "installation was interrupted before it
    could be completed". We have uninstalled our full versions of
    Captivate 2, rebooted, and it does the same thing even after that.
    Is there anything in the registry that I need to alter? We have a
    series of classes starting on September 5th that we really wanted
    to roll out presentations for. Thanks for any help!!!

    Unfortunately, there is probably little we can do here in the
    forums to help. I'd stress that you contact Adobe support and
    advise of your situation. I'm thinking this would not fall into any
    category of a chargeable support item and it should be a pretty
    high priority. But I'm a simple user same as you. I'm not speaking
    for Adobe.

  • Is Captivate still available on subscription?  Mines stopped suddenly.

    I've been subscribing to Captivate for the last 4-5 months and all of a sudden it's Expired and won't let me renew.....I can't even start a new subscription.
    And there's no where I can see to contact Adobe for support...
    My credit card details are all up to date and i cannot change the 'Auto Renewal' setting in the 'manage your subscription' page.
    Any ideas greatly appreciated!

    Yes it still is availabke on subscription, where you see the Buy button when you go to purcashe a new copy, the website defaults to the perpetual license, however if yo click on the down arrow, you will be given the options there....as per below image wher it says I wantr to buy.....

    I am trying to install my purchased copy of Captivate7. It seems I have the upgrade version of Captivate7 Windows 7 64bit and need to install Captivate6 first. Can someone supply me with a link to download v6?

    how are you going to install v6 without a serial number?  your v7 serial number will not work for v6.
    anyway, if you think your problems will be solved by downloading and installing a trial of v6 and if you follow all 7 steps, you can download a trial via one of the links on this page using a browser that accepts cookies:  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-captivate-6-direct-download-links-free-trial.html
    and activate with your serial number.
    if you have a download problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps.  typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that's (a restrictive browser setting) another potential source of problems.

    If you had previously purchased the e-Learning Suite that contained Captivate 5, and you now only have an upgrade license key for the Captivate 6 application on its own, then you may be in for a disappointment.
    Apps that came as part of an Adobe suite usually need to be upgraded by another version of the same suite, not individually.
    I sincerely hope I'm wrong.  But that's the way I understand the licensing to work.

    I previously purchased Adobe Captivate for 1 year and I have 9 months left. Is there any way I can upgrade it to Adobe Captivate 8? If so, is this upgrade free or do I have to pay for it?

    I also applied the steps above and had no luck.
    I checked the tech specs in the link you provided and the only thing I'm missing is the CD Drive.
    When I open captivate > Help > Updates, It says everything is up to date already.

    Please not that we can do this operation only on a trial/temporary site, and not for the free sites.
