Capture inbound SOAP message

Hi,
I am trying to find a way to capture an inbound XML message in its original form once it has been transformed into the appropriate structure. I have attempted debugging for quite some time to find the XML source in previous programs in the ABAP Stack, but no results as yet to access that object attribute from my function module.
Has anyone else has this problem? Essentially I want to create a log for inbound messages but am unable to capture the message because it has already populated the correct structure.
After writing this, I've had an idea. I will look into the possibility of calling the transformation to rebuild the XML based on the data structures.
Any other ideas will be appreciated.

Hi All,
I ended up resolving this issue by rebuilding the XML based on the structure passed into my function module. This means I do not have all of the XML as it was passed, only the tags were expected in the message (this is due to the fact that unknown tags are just ignored during the translation-- it is case sensitive too!).
The hard part was debugging the SAP code to find the name of the de-serialise transformation. Then once I found it, there was a call to another transformation; this is what I had to use. Unfortunately I was unable to find a way to determine the name of this form dynamically.
If someone else has found a way, I am interested to know.

Is there a way to log the inbound SOAP message [valid or invalid] in SALT 2.0. We have a situation where the client is sending a SOAP message that we want to be able to intercept and log. The client is reporting that the SALT gateway is reporting an invalid SOAP message, we want to be able to log this message so we can let them know what we are receiving.

Everywhere in XI, the acronym "LCR" is synonymous with "SLD", System Landscape Directory. It seems like it may be a term they used early on, or maybe it's the German equivalent. The LCR acronym is sprinkled throughout SAP's underlying code.
In your error message, it's complaining about the Business System entry in the SLD.
My first thought would be that either the source or target business system is not configured in the SLD, or you haven't defined the business system properly in the SOAP adapter configuration. See the "XI20 Adapter Engine" manual for instructions on how to configure the SOAP adapter.
NOTE: You may be able to configure the SLD to make this solution work on your own, but for long-term usage, you're going to want an expert to model your system landscape and configure the SLD properly.

I have a client test app which sends jobs to a webservice via SOAP. I'd like to capture the SOAP message in plain text. Is there an easy way to do this? When searching this site it mentions using
-Dweblogic.webservice.verbose=true as an argment to the client application but that doesn't seem to do anything. The client was built with 8.1.3, the server is currently running 9.2. Is there any other easy way to capture the SOAP message being sent? Thanks.

How to create Inbound SOAP With Attachments

Hi All,
Does someone know how to create an Inbound SOAP Message (from SAP XI to a Business System) with attachments?
We get an Idoc from a SAP R/3 system and transform this Idoc to an other XML format messages, but we want this message as an attachment and not as the payload in the SOAP Envelope.
We tried the PayloadSwapBean module, but we don't have an attachment to swap with, but maybe we used the wrong paramaters.

Our scenario is that we send an IDoc (ORDERS05) from our R/3-backend-system to XI (3.0/SP15). In an integration process (A/S-bridge) we transform this IDoc to an UBL-Order XML-message, and we want to send this XML-message as an attachment to a (synchronous) SOAP-call to a vendor. Like I said, despite the SAPHelp-content, we don't get this working. Whatever we try, the UBL-Ordermessage is contained in the SOAP-body.
What makes it even more strange, is that XI itself is based on the SOAP-with-attachments-standard...
So, any help is much appreciated!

Really, this is my experiment:
--server: a simple ws with "add" service.
--client: a session bean that would use ws.
This step works. Next step:
--Client create a SOAP request, sign it, encrypt it and send.
--Server check signature, decrypt soap element, add two number and
send a clear response.
In this step I obtain: error in decode...etc etc
Client seems works (create, sign, encrypt e send).
I'm trying to works at programming level (with handlers).
I don't want to use application level security for two reasons:
1. If I use it, I don't learn in depth WS-Security and other..
2. I tried to use it, but it did works only on server side, as a matter of fact, client doesn't manage signing and encrypting soap message (sure, I tried with other example, perhaps totally wrong :-P)

External WebService call from CAF Core returns Invalid soap message

I am trying to perform the very simple action of calling a WebService from a CAF Core app service.
1. I imported the WS (Axis Web service running on NW 2004s SP9 server) with WSDL (option 2 on import external service page).
2. I then assembled the call in an app service method and invoke it.
3. I made sure to configure the end point for the service and the method using the External Service configuration.
When I execute the CAF core method using a simple Callable Object test client, I get the following error:

The only problem I can think off is that the transfer-encoding is marked as chunked which is causing the characters '1f3' and '0' to appear after and before the response and that this is causing the app to crash.
192.168.99.120 is the server the hosts the WS. It is also a 2004s SP9 server. The client server that hosts the CAF core service is of the same configuration. 8078 is the port I redirect for tcpmon purposes.
Could anyone shed some light on my problem?

It looks like NW WS client cannot handle Transfer-encoding of chunked even though this is part of HTTP 1.1. What seems to be happening is that the NW WS client is creating a HTTP 1.1 request. The service (axis ws running on NW) seeing this is creating a HTTP 1.1 response w/ chunked encoding. However, the client cannot handle this encoding and barfs. The solution is to change the service to return a HTTP/1.0 response since NW cant handle HTTP 1.1.

XML Comments in SOAP message - jax-rpc

I ran across an issue with comments in my soap messages with regards to the serialization.
My solution was to strip all the comments inbound and outbound.
Are xml comments supported by JAX-RPC? I am currently scouring the internet for more information, but the closest I have come is a reference in the IBM implementation which doesn't really help me out.
Any thoughts are appreciated.

I need to capture the client IP address and place it in the SOAP message to pass it to the underlying EJB.
I am using a servlet filter to capture the IP Address but dont really know how to get the SOAP message from the HTTPServletRequest.

The easiest way to call a Web Service is to use a Client Library instead of calling the SOAP call yourself.
Can you for your project use a Web Service client stack (JAX-RPC, Axis, XFire, ...) this will create from the WSDL file a set of class and give you a very simple caller class that you can then integrate to your JSP.
I am pointing you to the OracleAS Web Service Documentation section about Web Service proxy.

SOAP messages in XI 2.0

We have a scenario where we need to get a request from a non-SAP system and a response needs to be sent back synchronously. Till now we have done the following:
1. We have installed the SOAP adopter.
2. I have written a RFC-enabled function module in the backend system.
3. I have created the configuration in XI20.
4. I have written a ABAP program to generate SOAP
messages. This program used HTTP destination to external servers.
I can see that the message is being received in the SOAP adopter. <b>But, the program comes back with an error message saying that 'No own business system'
(CONFIG.LCR_ERROR).</b>
Here are the steps I did for config. Please correct me if I am wrong.
1. I have created two data types: Request and Result
2. I have created two message types for these two data types.
3. I have created two message interface; one as outbound synchronous and the other as inbound synchronous (this is where I am not sure whether I did this correctly).
4. Next I have created two message mappings one to map the request on the RFC function module and the second for the result from the same function module.
5. Then I have created a interface mappings with request and response.
6. Then, I went to Integration Builder - Config and did the following.
7. I have created a interface determination for inbound interface giving sender business system, receiver business system and the inbound interface and interface mapping.
Looks like I am missing something or done something incorrectly. Your guidance is very much appreciated.

I want to see SOAP messages (envelope included) received to and
sended from sjsas server.
How can I do it?

There's a tool called TCPMon, which is included in Apache's Axis product, that can capture SOAP messages as they pass between clients and servers. See the IBM developerWorks article by Toug Tidwell called 'Ask the Magic Eight Ball', or the Dr. Dobbs article 'Web Services and Apache Axis' in the November 2004 issue for more details.
Or, there's a commercial product called SOAPScope (www.mindreef.com) that could be handy.

Logging soap messages invoked by BPEL process

Is there any way to log the SOAP messages sent from an invoke? A receive?
Also, is there a way to capture which variable is throwing an uninitializedVariable exception?

You can use the logging and tracing functionality to write log statements anywhere in BPEL. refer http://wiki.open-esb.java.net/Wiki.jsp?page=LoggingFromWSBPELActivityInABusinessProcess . But you should keep in mind these are not soap messages that you log. They will be abstract WSDL message instances. If you want to log specifically the soap messages you need the support in HTTP-BC.
If you turn on logging you should see the line number of BPEL where it fails. That should give you some indication. I am not 100% sure, but in the logs, we should be logging the variable which was not initialized. I can't think of any other way to find out which variable caused this exception.

Is it possible to create an inbound SOAP Adaptor for an ESB routing service

I have been given a pre-defined wsdl file that defines the inputs to an ESB service and I wa wondering whether it is possible to create an inbound SOAP adaptor or whether this is actually an outbound adaptor. I am new to SOAP adaptors so need a little bit of guidance.

Hi,
In your case you need to create an Routing Service. If you create an esb project you can select Routing Service from the ESB Services entry in the Component Palette. You then get the option Select Existing WSDL. The SOAP adapter is only used for outbound SOAP messages. If you define a routing service it is available as a 'webservice' with a wsdl (in this case the one you define) from the console.

Writting attached file from SOAP message to a FTP folder

Hi everybody,
Our scenario is an interface which receives a SOAP message with a file attached. As we don't need to do any mapping into the attachment, we are supposed to deliver that file as it is into a FTP folder.
Our problem is that we cannot find how to configure File comm channel to write the attached file and no the SOAP XML message which is what we are getting now. Any help on this?

Unable to open PWA in browser and MSP on application server in project server 2007. ERROR: Sending the Soap message failed or no recognizable response was received.

I am using project server 2007 and WSS 3.0.
I have been facing a strange issue for couple of days. I am unable to open PWA in browser and MS Project Pro on application server.
Everything is correct whether it is URL or MS Project profile account on MSP. This is strange because i can open same PWA/MSP from other computers (Database server / Client PCs) but not locally on server.
When i try to connect to MSP on App server, i get the following errors in event viewer.
