Capture jstl index in html?

Hello!
I need to capture the index in c:foreach for a mapped property name, I tried the below code, can some one tell me what am I doing wrong?
<c:forEach items="${list}" var="currentVal" varStatus="status">
<html:text styleClass="text" property="copyProcess('<c:out value="${status.index}"/>')"/>

am having to do the following (see working code) to get the above code to work, why can't I use jstl to accomplish it?
am not able to get the below code to work, the value of ${status.index} does not explode ends up as a string
<html:text styleClass="text" property="copyProcess(${status.index})"/>working code:
<c:set var="index" scope="session"><c:out value="${status.index}"/></c:set>
<% String x = "copyProcess(" + (String)session.getAttribute("index") + ")"; %>
<html:text styleClass="text" property="<%= x %>"/>

    I just found 1 tricky solution.
    Declare a variable containing the asset URL in the HTML, before the <!--Adobe Edge Runtime--> part. (Sample below.)
    In the script (_edge.js), use this variable instead of the asset URL string . (replace the string constant with the variable)
    In the server script, generate the HTML by changing the variable definition.
    This is ugly...
    I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

  • Replace FB's index.template.html to avoid Flash Player version check

    I'm testing my Flex on old computers. The HTML wrappers
    generated by FB3 work fine generally. But in some cases, the
    wrappers keep asking me to upgrade the Flash Player to version 9
    even through the FP is already in version 9. How should I change
    the index.template.html so that the new FB3 generated HTTP wrappers
    would not check the version of FP? As far as I know, most of the
    browsers already have FP9 installed. Even when the FP is below
    version 9, calling a swf file in the HTML would trigger the
    upgrading process.

    Look under your project properties for "Flex compiler" and
    set the wrapper's "required version" there.

  • While trying to delete an image or header on Index page, Index..html disappeared--how could this have happened?

    Windows 7, Adobe CS6
    In Dreamweaver, from files located on a USB, on the Index screen, I was trying to  1) delete an Image in order to insert a different one and link it to a page; 2) delete the Header in order to insert a border and then replace the Header.
    I seem to have succeeded with the Image rollover replacement and link. Clicking on the Header should have activated it so that I could delete it; but it didn't.
    All of the images and links are intact; I just can't open the Index page, since I can't find the Index.html file.  The last time I copied the USB files onto my C: drive was 3 weeks ago.
    1.  What might I have done accidentally to cause the Index.html file to be deleted?
    2.  Exactly what does the Index.html file contain?  Would the one that's 3 weeks old work?  No, I'm thinking, since some changes were made in the html coding in the meantime?

    This is the problem with working in Design View only.  You really need to work in Split View so you can see the code that DW creates/selects for you.  Often times, selecting elements in Design View will capture too much or too little code.  When you  hit delete, you may have deleted much more code than was needed.   The result is invalid code, unbalanced tags, etc.. all of which might explain why your page is blank in Design View.
    Switch to code view.  Copy & paste the remaining code into a web forum reply (do not use e-mail, it won't come through).  If we can see the code you have to work with, we might be able to help you repair it.

  • JSTL forEach inside html form

    I am using JSTL to display data in an editable menu. The data is retrieved from a database and the user may change it if required. The problem is that I get a blank page inside the forEach tag.
    %@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/sql" prefix="sql" %>
    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>
    <%@ page language="java" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"
        pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%>
    <sql:query var="rs" dataSource="jdbc/agenda">
    SELECT * FROM cardapios WHERE username="${pageContext.request.remoteUser}"
    </sql:query>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
    <title>Insert title here</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <form action="../ChangeMenu" method="POST">
    Everything I write here I can see!!!
    <c:forEach var="r" items="${rs.rows}">
    Restaurante: <input type="text" name="restaurante" value="${r.restaurante}" />  I cant see it!!
    Here I have many <input type="text" ..... etc />
    </c:forEach>
    <input type="submit" value="Salvar" />
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>Well, if I remove the form action, it works properly. So, the data is being retrieved from the database.
    Also, do I really have to use <c:forEach> since it will always retrieve just one line from the table? Is there any other way I can get the data from "rs" ?
    Thanks!

    If you know for certain there is exactly one and only ever one row returned, then you can just access it directly:
    <c:set var="r" value="${rs.rows[0]}"/>With regards to the query, it would probably be better using parameter rather than the variable directly:
    <sql:query var="rs" dataSource="jdbc/agenda">
      SELECT * FROM cardapios WHERE username=  ?
      <sql:param value="${pageContext.request.remoteUser}"/>
    </sql:query>I don't think that would change the functionality, but it would prevent SQL injection attacks.
    I don't see how removing the form action would change the display of the html page.
    My suggestion would be to view source on the generated HTML page, and see what is being produced by running the page.
    Did the query return the results that you wanted? Is it generating valid HTML?

  • Is there a way to get the cursor position index of html text field

    I'm trying to work on a text pad like MC with "insert text at
    position X" and "find and replace" can anyone tell me how to find
    the cursor index of an html text field. Selection.getBeginIndex() ,
    Selection.getEndIndex(), Selection.getCaretIndex() as far as I know
    these methods only work with text and not htmltext.
    What I'm trying to do is assign different parts of the string
    to variables so that I can combine them to reconstitute my html
    string.

    enfantterrible:
    If I understand correctly, you want the corresponding
    position in the
    htmlText propery of the caret index (which as you point out
    is only the
    position in the plain text version of the textfield content).
    Below is how I would do it. Maybe there's an easier or more
    efficient
    way (using XML objects etc), but I don't know it. You could
    conduct all
    your string searches in the plain text and then convert the
    result to
    the html positions. I didn't build this to accept negative
    parameters
    for the pos parameter (e.g. from end of string backwards) but
    the
    function could be adapted to do this too if necessary. The
    test data is
    not proper html from a text field, but it doesn't really
    matter what it
    is so long as its formatted correctly. It just separates the
    tags from
    the content to enable apples with apples comparison.
    //some test data
    var testStringXML = "<format>Hel<b>lo i can't
    t<i>ell you h</i>ow hap</b>py I
    am.</format>";
    var undecoratedString = "Hello i can't tell you how happy I
    am.";
    //the conversion function
    function findDecoratedPosition(pos:Number, xmlString:String,
    test:Boolean):Number {
    //anything between '<' and '>' should be excluded from
    plain text search.
    //create an array of array elements (n=2) consisting of tag
    then plain text
    //requires correctly formatted xml/html
    var tempArr:Array = xmlString.split("<");
    for (var aa = 0; aa<tempArr.length; aa++) {
    tempArr[aa] = tempArr[aa].split(">");
    //remove the first and last elements of the new array (these
    are empty)
    tempArr.pop();
    tempArr.shift();
    //find the corresponding plaintext location and calculate
    the "decorated" position
    var retPos:Number = 0;
    var posCount:Number = 0;
    for (var aa = 0; aa<tempArr.length; aa++) {
    retPos += tempArr[aa][0].length+2+tempArr[aa][1].length;
    //+2 allows for missing < and >
    posCount += tempArr[aa][1].length;
    if (posCount>pos) {
    return (retPos+(pos-posCount));
    //out of range
    return -1;
    //test code:
    for (var aa = 0; aa<undecoratedString.length; aa++) {
    var altPos = findDecoratedPosition(aa, testStringXML);
    trace(undecoratedString.charAt(aa)+" in position "+aa+"
    plainText equates to position "+altPos+" in the decorated version
    ["+testStringXML.charAt(altPos)+"]");
    }

  • Google index external HTML data sets?

    I know one of the workarounds to have Google properly index
    dynamic content is to use HTML data sets, but I'm unclear about one
    thing. Does this only work if you have the HTML data set table on
    the same page you use it with, or does it also work with external
    HTML data sets?
    For instance, will Google have a problem indexing if I use a
    external HTML data set like:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var educationLinks = new
    Spry.Data.HTMLDataSet("links/educationLinks.htm",
    "educationLinks");
    //-->
    </script>
    <div spry:region="educationLinks" id="linksContainer"
    class="SpryHiddenRegion">
    <ul spry:repeatchildren="educationLinks"
    class="unorderedLinkList">
    <li><a href="{url}"
    target="_blank">{name}</a> - {description}</li>
    </ul>
    <!-- end #linksContainer -->
    </div>

    I'm doing the same exact thing using external HTML data sets
    instead of XML. It is true that spiders will not index the external
    page based on the Spry data you noted. My solution will be to
    create a sitemap.xml page and submit it to the search engines. That
    sitemap.xml file will contain all the pages in your site and the
    spiders will use it as a central point to crawl all of those pages
    specified within. So, I will just include my externally referenced
    files in the sitemap.xml file.

  • Specify Data Captured In Index

    After some mucking around, I finally figured out how the Index function works in InDesign CS3.
    It requires you to highlight text that you wish to have Indexed. So it could be a phrase, paragraph or the whole document.
    I have thousands of entries to Index. I only want to Index the contact name. The problem Is that highlighting the whole document captures too much information that I do not need (e.g. address, telephone number, etc.). And highlighting the contact name only would take forever.
    Is there a way to Index only the contact names automatically? I do have the contact name tagged in the style sheet.
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi ,
    Thanks for the Reply,
    Actually I have attached the tag ' Data to the Data Column but after that also Essbase is not recognizing the Data Field , prompting the error
    Unknown member [*data*] found while processing the string [‘*data*]
    Please let me know what should be the header of the data
    column in the dynamic header definition. Thanks in advance

    - Now when i select multiple rows of that advance list and click on the action,I want to capture the indexes of all the selected rows.
    I tried using following ruby code:
    lead=$data.datalist.LeadSelectedIndex
    But it returns index of only first row selected out of various rows selected.
    So please anyone help me on that.
    Regards ,
    Saurabh Sharma.

    In FP2.6 there is no chance from SDK to have a mass enabled Action and bind to a mulli selection list as a BO Action in the UI Designer, as multiplicity will always be single and only lead selection would be selected.
    this feature comes only in FP3.0.
    So i am not sure what excatly Saurabh wants to do : maybe do some calculations based on multi seletions then i would do the following as also what Christian mentioned
    multiSelect =  ($data.DataList.GetSelectedRowsCount() > 1);
    NoOfRowsSelected = $data.DataList.GetSelectedRowsCount();
    SummationField = 0;
    if ( multiSelect )
       LeadSelection = $data.DataList.LeadSelectedIndex;
       RequiredDataField = $data.DataList.Get(LeadSelection).AnydataField;
       for i in 0..(NoOfRowsSelected - 1)
         currentRow = LeadSelection + i;
          RequiredDataField = $data.DataList.Get(currentRow).AnydataField;
    // imagine this is just add values of the RequiredDataField
         SummationField = SummationField +   RequiredDataField
       end
    end
    So i have not tried this directly - but i hope i make the idea clear.

  • Is it possible to have multi- index.html on a bilingualsite?

    Hi
    I only write multilingual sites.
    My work around is to have to  individual sites for each language linked with a flag on the master page that has the same links on all languages master page
    This means that every file on a 5 language website is multiplied (not a problem with a html page but with images and ecommerce it gets heavy on the hosting).
    Would it be possible to create the ability to rename an index page. (this option is currently only available with non-index pages in the page properties meta)
    ie
    index-fr.html
    index-en.html
    index-it.html
    index-de.html
    and so on...
    then provided the page names were all different we could use one directory and one image library.
    Or am i missing something?

  • One JSP Coded in JSTL with an Action Link and a Form

    My JSP written in JSTL with an action link works fine. The checkboxes are well recognized ( I have a "form" specified in both the action mapping and form bean).

    The form B also works well. And varStatus="idx" and var="user" still work. The complaint points specifically to the <html-el:checkbox property="selectedUsers[${idx.index}].selected" />. The getter method for selectedUsers[0].selected can no longer be recognized:
