Capturing previous year data

I've the data something like this :

I've a combo for fiscal year and based upon the year selection its data is displayed in a Pie chart
and when I select a particular fiscal year its previous year data and selected year data should be displayed in a pie chart.
How to capture previous year data?

how can i write a query to fetch date for the previous year, given any date inputted by the user ?

Yes, you can make the change in the query. But that would require that the query returns a string, not a date. I showed a couple replies ago how to add a TO_CHAR call to return a string in a particular format.
If you want to return a date, you have to accept that a date has many valid display formats. It is up to the client to determine how to make the date human readable. If the client is SQL*Plus, the client application defers to the individual user's preferences as expressed by the NLS_DATE_FORMAT. That is incredibly useful behavior since preferred date formats are culturally dependent. A European will read the string '3/6/11' as June 3, 2011 while an American reads it as March 6, 2011. Honoring the NLS_DATE_FORMAT makes it easy to let every user see dates in the format they prefer.

How to generate a new calendar without previous year data

In iCal I previously could, at the end of the year or early in the new year, create a new complete calendar and delete the old data of the previous year leaving only the current year entries. Ever since there was an iCal, I was able to do that.
I think I created an archive for the previous year and then was able to delete the old daily data in a single step to create the new year. There doesn't seem to be any capability to do this.
I have created an archive of my 2012 events but don't want to manually delete hundreds and hundreds (probablty over a thousand) of 2012 entries one by one just to make a calendar with only the few days of 2013 presently in my calendar.
I do NOT use the cloud to store my calendar or any of my information. If that might be the only way to purge old data, then there is a big flaw in Calendar.

I found information on how I created a clean Calendar in January of 2012 when using an older version of OS (probably Lion) and Calendar.
Selected backup option (now only have export or archive as available options)
set prefs to clear older than x days (no options now possible to do this)
create copy
close Calendar
repopen and unchecked the prefs
I have now created a new calendar by the extremely tedious process of deleting over 1000 entries in the 2012 calendar one at a time.
This is a really big flaw in the current Calendar not allowing the easy creation of a new Calendar as was possible just a year ago!!!!! This was possibe every year since we got iCal until now.

Capturing previous year invoice document in current fiscal year

Dear All,
One of my client requirement is that have posted invoice in previous year and they are making payment in current fiscal year, this scenario they want to capture in payment advice. When am checking all the table with the input as payment document number and fcleared fiscal year system not showing the invoice reference against which it is cleard. For current year cleared documents we can extract the invoice reference where as for previous year system not picking that invoice number.
Have checked in all the table entries, kindly suggest me is there any other alternative way to do this...

The problem is resolved since by giving the input as previous fiscal year and then system able to show the invoice number even if its cleared in current year. Invoice belongs to preious year and cleared documen in current year in that case we have to give the input parameter as previous fiscal year against that document number.

Previous years' data

Hi Gurus
We are on SAP 4.7 in a post go-live environment with only FI & CO modules.
My client has just been demerged from its parent company. In the old organization, my client was a company code too. We have done the configuration as it was in the old organization & the client is using the new configurations & have completed 3 month-end closings.
At the time of go-live, we did all the initial postings for GL, AR, AP & Assets. The uploads were fine & without errors.
Now, the client wants to import all the data from year 2002 onwards with the document numbers / check numbers etc. intact in the new production server as the parent company would be prohibiting access to the old server. In short, the client expects us to transfer all the data in an as-is manner from the old server to the new server without compromising on the document numbers, check numbers etc.
We are writing a BDC using FB01 to transfer all the data from 2002 onwards. We made the account document number as external as the client wants the entire data in an as-is manner. Is there any functional module or BAPI using external number ranges by which we can carry out the postings? We tried with the standard FM but it gives an error due to external document numbering.

How to use previous year keyfigure data in current year for other keyfig

Hi Expert,
I have 1 requirement wherein I need to use previous year data for some keyfigure calculation.
Details are as follows:
I have designed query with CKFs Turnover & UVG (in rows) & Fiscal year period in columns.
Suppose Keyfigure Turnover data is displayed from Apr2009 to Mar 2011. In UVG: for Apr 2010, i need Turover data of month Apr 2009, for May 2010 turnover data of May 2009 similarly for other months.
As per my understanding, I need to use customer exit which will store kf turnover data in internal table & in turn it will be used for UVG.
But I'm not able to put it into syntax.
Kindly suggest your inputs in this scenario.

Survey questionaire disappearing when updating the start date and end date to previous year

Hi Experts
When the start and end dates are updated to the previous year dates the questionaire is disappearing from the assignment block, is this a standard behaviour or this is a bug which needs to be raised to SAP.
Please advise.

Pcr To Get The Wage Type Value From Previous Years Master Data Records

I have an issue related to pcr. I want to get the value of a wage type from previous year and it has to be added to another wage type. Tried to write pcr by using the operation TABLE. But i am not able to get the previous years data. Request to help in writing the PCR for the issue.

1 - Create an "Information WT" that will be saved into RT but that has no impact on net pay.
2 - Create a PCR that will be activated on the last pay of the year to read the WT you want and transfer it's information into your Information WT.
3 - Create a PCR that will read the last payroll results (activated with function PLRT) and transfer into the Input Table (IT) the Information WT.

Previous fiscal year data

My customer wants to set up previous years data in such a way that he could look up last years sales and purchase data as well. But it may not be transactional numbers, it just can be total sales and purchase posted against each BP.
In such a scenario , waht is the best route to take ?
Please advise accordingly.

My customer wants to migrate his previous year AR , AP Numbers into FY 2009. So in terms of entering data for the previous fiscal he only wants to enter Sales and Purchase transactions per BP.
Will he be required to enter all tranasctions (cant import.. all manual system at present) and close the fiscal year in SBO and move on to 2009 ?
Or, can be utilise the BP Opening Balances to show such AR/AP numbers bought forward to 2009.
Please suggest the possible ways to achieve this ?

-and other date related fields
Fact Table:
-Sales (contains current year sales depending on the filter set)
*Filter on Year
Would anyone know how will I create a measure for Previous Year Sales?
So that whenever my report shows the current year (for example: 2009) data of my sales, I can also have a column that would also display the previous year data and it will automatically know that it would display the previous year data of the Current year displayed in my report.
Also, how to derive the percentage change of this 2 columns.
Year: 2009
Branch --- Current Year Sales (Sales from Fact table) 2009 --- Previous Year Sales 2008???
I want to add the Current Year Sales And Percentage Change of Sales in the Business Model/Mapping Section. so that it would be available in the presentation layer of Oracle Answers.

Use column filters. Click on the fx button on your Sales column. Click on the Filter button. Now go to the Time.Year column you have and click on it. When the filter window comes up, click on Advanced and convert the filter to SQL. Now insert the Current Year column so that you have Time.Year = "Current Year" Click "OK."
Get another Sales column and put it in your workspace. Follow the above procedure except this time use th Previous Year column.
Now you have two Fact columns, one that filters for the Current Year and one that filters for your Previous Year.
Now for your variance, click on one more column and place it in your workspace. Click on the fx button. This time click on the "Column" button. You will see a list of your columns. From this, create the (Current Year)-(Previous Year)/(Previous Year)*100.00. In the Data Format tab, change the format to percentage.
You also have the option of creating the above calculations in the BMM layer too.

How to design extractor can have only current Fiscal Year data.

I require a full upload DSO , which can have only current fiscal year data . I have created view putting there certain conditions for minimising the data size. How i can restrict it , to have only current fisacal year data for YTD reports. It would be daily uploaded.

while extracting the data from source you can set the filters at the info package level so that it will not extract the previous years data.
In the data selection tab in Info package enter the current fiscal year and schedule the IP it will extract only the current year data.
next execute the DTP to load data till DSO.
the data is restricted in the infopackage level before entering to PSA so there is no need to write any routines in the DSO level.

Actual - Previous Year not summing correctly

I've tried two different MDX expressions to return the Actual GSV for this period last year. They both work for individual periods but they don't sum correctly.
Ie if you review the results for several periods in Excel then as long as the periods appear across or down the page the results are correct. However if Period is the Page Grouping (the Filter) then the result is wrong.
The first expression doesn't return a total at all:

The “.CurrentMember” function doesn't handle the multiple members, it means the MDX cannot handle a multi-select in Excel.
If we are use SSRS report tool which allow us to pass a string into MDX query, it can hanlde multi-select request to get expected data. Here are some related threads about this topic for your reference, please see:

Pay_us_wages_w2_v is not picking current year data?

Hi,
pay_us_wages_w2_v tabe is not getting current year data, only is getting previous year data.
Like

At first I was not happy. I didnt understand how it worked. I wanted to keep my unlimited. It may not work out for everyone but it does for me. I have two accounts. one has 5 lines and the other has two. I pay 150 for two lines on one account. I have the 30 dllr 2 gig package. Then I have a dumb phone for the second line. My other account I have 5 smartphones. I pay around 350 for that account.
Now with the new plans I can combine BOTH accounts into one and make one BIG family plan. All the users in my account do not go over 2 gigs except one but he never goes over 5. Ill get a big data package and save some money. On top of that its UNLIMITED minutes and text which is what we use it for. Ill be paying around 350ish with a big data package..
That is 150 dllrs in savings!! Now since I can add usage controls I can control how much data that one person uses.
Not sure about you guys but to me this is #winning status!
