How can we capture the row count of the rows affected by executing an update statement?

If you are doing this by PLSQL block:

I'm having a table. This table is viewed when i click on a search button.
<b>On the table header it should dynamically display the number of rows in the table, i.e., the row count.</b>

If you want to show a localized text in the table header, you should use the <b>Message Pool</b> to create a (parameterized) message "tableHeaderText" like "There are table entries".
Next, create a context attribute "tableHeaderText" of type "string" and bind the "text" property of the table header Caption UI element to this attribute.
Whenever the table data has changed (e.g. at the end of the supply function for the table's data source node), update the header text:
int numRows = wdContext.node<TableDataSourceNode>().size();
String text = wdComponentAPI.getTextAccessor().getText
IMessage<ComponentName>.TABLE_HEADER_TEXT,
new Object[] { String.valueOf(numRows) }

Maybe you want to provide a separate message for the case that there are no entries.
Alternatively, you can make the attribute calculated and return the header text in the attribute getter.

In my Adobe form layout, I have a Table node which is bound to an internal table. Now at runtime, I want to determine the number of rows that the internal table has, i.e the row count of the DATA node of the Table. How will I be able to determine the no. of rows of the internal table at runtime using Javascript? I am not being able to find any suitable answer in this forum. Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
If you bind the interactive form table to the internal table and specify some properties, the table will vary its row size according to the number of data available in the internal table.
You have to wrap the table in a sub form, check 'allow page break with contents' and property 'flowed'.
the table will automatically increase its row size...
Is this the reason for which you wanted for the row count..?

I'v tried rennie1's way ,but I only get zero,my code is:
rs.executeQuery("select count(*) from t_test");
if (rs.next()) int rowCount=rs.getInt(1);
I also tried barni's way ,but the method rs.last() and rs.beforeFirst() throw a same Exception
I tried another way,the code is:
while rs.next(){
// Do nothing ,just move the cursour to the last row
int rowCount=rs.getRow()
However,the rowCount still equal zero
Any help would be greatly apprecite!
note:
I get connection by DataSource's JNDI name from client, the Server is Weblogic Server 6, the DBMS is Oracle.

I m Working on Localization.
I have used exteranize string and saved excel file and added language column and inserted data en and fr and loaded the file into the database.
then i have created 2 variables
one is for weblanguage SELECT 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.WEBLANGUAGE)' FROM DUAL
second is SELECT SESSION_VARIABLE, TRANSLATION FROM TAB_EXTERNAL WHERE LANGUAGE = 'VALUEOF(NQ_SESSION.LOCALE)' when i click on Test for the second variable it showing error
"start row is set higher than the row count"
i have seleted start row =10 and show some 10.then also it is showing same error.
Please send me the solution ASAP.

I am working in OBIEE localization. I created two variables and when press test i am getting vaules successfully. But in OBIEE application i am getting columns in english only. It seems there is some problem with values in DUAL table. It contains only 1 column called 'DUMMY' and value as 'X'.

I have a requirement and i was searching in the forum and i have seen the same question been asked
Capture the rows selected in a multiselect table view (BSP)   but i couldn't able to judge how the thread is closed
We have a tableView that is filled on selecting a value from a dropDownListBox.
and now i select some rows from the table view and click on a button(say btn_ok)
now the data is processed .
now what is my requirement is when   i again run the page and select the same drop down value i want to see the rows to be already selected for which i have done before
example
dropdown -
> a is selected
table view
1----> selected
2
3---->selected
4
5---->selected
6
btn ok
next time i want to c these selected rows already as SELECTED

Hi,
Are you able to fetch single row? If yes then debug and try to solve it. I don't have SAP System right now but this will help you. First change your table selection mode "Multiple". After that write following code in your "OnInputProcessing"
Sending Selected Field to the calling Screen
DATA : tv      TYPE REF TO cl_htmlb_tableview,
       tv_data TYPE REF TO cl_htmlb_event_tableview,
       event   TYPE REF TO cl_htmlb_event.
tv ?= cl_htmlb_manager=>get_data(

     RECEIVING
       data    = tv.
tv_data = tv->data.
w_field = tv_data->row_key.
Where w_field is your field name. By the way this I used to get one row. Try debugging and may be you will find your way.

Capturing the row selector and perform logical delete

Hi All ,
I add a tabular report in one of my page .But in the MULTI_ROW_DELETE button I like to capture the checkbox (row selector) and fire a PL/SQL anonymous block where rather than performing actual row delete it will update a database field and perform some sort of logical delete .
Now my problem is I cant able to capture that what are the rows need to be logically deleted :

Got the solution by searhcing several of the therads from Denes...
Create the checkbox from Form page :
htmldb_item.checkbox(1,t.USERNAME) DeleteItem,
and then captured it as :
FOR i in 1..HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01.count
LOOP
UPDATE table1 set DELETE_FLAG='Y'
WHERE USERNAME = HTMLDB_APPLICATION.G_F01(i);

Unable to get the row count of supplier site for each supplier

How to capture the row value in Advanced Table on OAF ?

I was wondering, if anyone has any idea as to how to capture a row value on an advanced table on a OAF Page.
I am currently trying to capture the Expense Report Number ( first column) on the Track Expenses Reports table on the page /oracle/apps/ap/oie/webui/HomePG.

How to increase the row count for display in OBIEE Answers-Dashboard page?

Hi All,
I have problem in exporting my reports. I need to export my report to either PDF or EXCEL format. My report contains more than 1200 rows. But when i am exporting the report to PDF it contains only 500 rows, for rest of the rows i have to scroll down and again i have to export to get the contents from 501 to 1000.
Is it possible by changing any property, can i export the entire 1200+ rows in a single EXCEL or PDF? Pls anybody shed light on this issue.

Capture the rows selected in a multiselect table view (BSP)

Hi,
My requirement is:
I have a table view in which I can select multiple rows.
I will be selecting some rows, and pressing a button.
Functionality of button is written in Javascript, to open a popup window.
But how will I capture which all rows were selected ?
Should I use a Java code or ABAP code ?
And where should I put that code ?
I tried calling the method cl_hrrcf_iterator=>get_tv_attr in the Javascript of the button. But it doesnt work. But if its in DO_HANDLE_DATA it works. Why is it like that ?
Is it possible in BSP, to use the function htmlbevent.obj.getSelectedRows() ? If so, how should the code be ?
Could you please tell me some of the possible solutions.

You've not specified how you're generating the Excel file. Are you using POI? JExcel? What?

Introduction
We need to loop through all the flat files that have the same structure in a folder and import all the data to a single SQL Server table. How can we obtain the total count of the rows inserted to the destination SQL Server table?
Solution
We can use Execute SQL Task or Script Task to aggregate the row count increment for each iteration of the Foreach Loop Container. The following steps are the preparations before we add the Execute SQL Task or Script Task:
Create a String type variable FilePath, two Int32 type variables InsertRowCnt and TotalRowCnt.
Drag a Foreach Loop Container to the Control Flow design surface, set the Enumerator to “Foreach File Enumerator”, specify the source folder and the files extension, and set the “Retrieve file name” option to “Fully qualified”.
On the “Variable Mappings” tab of the container, map the variable FilePath to the collection value.
Drag a Data Flow Task to the container, in the Data Flow Task, add a Flat File Source, a Row Count Transformation, and an OLE DB Destination, and join them. Create a Flat File Connection Manager to connect to one of the flat files, and then configure the
Flat File Source as well as the OLE DB Destination adapter. Set the variable for the Row Count Transformation to “User::InsertRowCnt”.
Open the Property Expressions Editor for the Flat File Connection Manager, and set the expression of “ConnectionString” property to
“@[User::FilePath]”.
(I) Execute SQL Task Method:
In the Control Flow, drag an Execute SQL Task under the Data Flow Task and join them.
Create one or using any one existing OLE DB Connection Manager for the Execute SQL Task, set the “ResultSet” option to “Single row”, and then set the “SQLStatement” property to:

If I understand correctly, you want to load data from multiple sheets in an .xlsx file into a SQL Server table.
If in this scenario, please refer to the following tips:
The Foreach Loop container should be configured as shown below:
Enumerator: Foreach ADO.NET Schema Rowset Enumerator
Connection String: The OLE DB Connection String for the excel file.
Schema: Tables.
In the Variable Mapping, map the variable to Sheet_Name, and change the Index from 0 to 2.
The connection string for Excel Connection Manager is the original one, we needn’t make any change.
Change Table Name or View name to the variable Sheet_Name.
