  • How to user Error Trigger for mapping - trying to catch row-based errors

    Hello everyone,
    Has anyone managed to use the error trigger for a mapping?
    I created a row based map with the right parameters (i set the error trigger procedure which I already created in the database).
    For this map after run i have 5 warnings which appear in the interface but the error trigger procedure is not executed.
    I set the max errors to 3 so after run the map should end with errors instead of warnings.
    Still not executing the error trigger procedure.
    What am i doing wrong?
    Please help as i really need a way to "catch" row based errors - having multiple target tables sucks.
    Thank you,
    Irina

  • Check user entry in Customer Exit Variable in i_step2

    Hi Folks,
    at the moment I'm facing a challenging problem. In an BW Query i have a Customer Exit defined as "not ready for Input" to catch the Variable in I_Step = 2 and fill by a certain algorithm. When i change the CE Variable to "Inputready", the user can enter values, but i have no chance to react on these values as i_step = 2 will not b reached during execution- And this behaviour is correct. BUT is there any chance to Check user entries in an Customer Exit variable and change this somehow in des code?
    Thanks for all replies.
    BR,
    Maik

    Hi there,
    It is possibel depending on what you wish to accomplish.
    You can create two variables for the same characteristic.
    The first is an input ready variable for the user to enter the data and the second is a not input ready variable CE where you can in step 2 process the data entered from the variable ready for input.
    You can than fill the CE variable with any data, but you will have the variable restricted by the two variables (the ready for input and the CE).
    But for validating you could throw an error message based on the variable input ready.
    Diogo.

  • Comple errors using JOptionPane

    I'm trying to write a Java program using JOptionPane dialog/display boxes that reads an integer and checks whether it is even using true/false statements. I also want the program must check if the number the user entered is between 1 and 1000.
    I haven't found alot of help in the book I have and i've found some help in another forum but it doesn't seem to compile well, I get the following errors:
    IntegerRead.java:39: cannot find symbol
    symbol : method valueOf(java.lang.String)
    location: class Integer
    int number = Integer.valueOf(s);
    ^

    Scanner input = new Scanner( System.in );
    ^
    Integer.java:13: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class Scanner
    location: class Integer
    Scanner input = new Scanner( System.in );
    Here is the code:
    // Assignment 2.1: IntegerRead.java
    // This program reads an integer, checks if it's even and is between 1 and 1000.
    import javax.swing.JOptionPane; // program uses class JOptionPane
    public class IntegerRead
    public static boolean isNumber(String args)
    if(args.length() > 3)
    throw new IllegalArgumentException("Invalid argument");
    else
    boolean isNumber = false;
    for(int i = 0; i < args.length(); i++)
    char c = args.charAt(i);
    if(Character.isDigit(c))
    isNumber = true;
    else
    isNumber = false;
    return isNumber;
    public static boolean isEven(int aNumber)
    int a = aNumber & 1;
    return (a == 0);
    public static void main(String args[])
    String s = JOptionPane.showInputDialog("Please enter number between 0 to 999");
    System.out.println("Is Number " + isNumber(s));
    if(isNumber(s))
    int number = Integer.valueOf(s);
    System.out.println("Number " + number + "is Even " + isEven(number));
    for(int i = 0; i < 999; i++)
    System.out.println(i + " is " + isEven(i));
    I know i'm missing very simple. I'm new and have tried to build upon what I have so far, but I can't figure it out.
    Thanks....

    You have a class named Integer somewhere on your class path. Get rid of it or rename it. If you've already renamed your Integer.java file, you still need to delete the Integer.class file. You should never create your own class that has the same name as a class in the standard java.lang package.

  • JOptionPane.showInputDialog and the cancel button

    so i'm using a JOptionPane.showInputDialog, and everything works except when i click the cancel button to exit the window, it gives me an error.
    how can i remedy this?
    here's a section of my code: (a is an array, as is b)
    firstWord = JOptionPane.showInputDialog
    ("What company's sloagan is/was: "+a[count]+"?");
    if(firstWord.equalsIgnoreCase(b[count]))
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog (null,
    "Thats Right, the company was "+b[count]+".");
    count++;
    int YesNo = JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog (null,
    "Do you want to play again?", "Choose One", JOptionPane.YES_NO_OPTION,JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);
    if(YesNo==1) //this should exit out if you click no
    System.exit (0);
    if(count==10)
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,
    "Game Over. You Won.");
    System.exit (0);
    else
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog (null,
    "Sorry, you aren't that smart. Guess again.");
    }]

    1- Seems like you misstyped your code tags...
    2- When you say: "it gives me an error", please provide details (e.g. stack trace)
    3- Read the API doc, it says: showInputDialog returns user's input, or null meaning the user canceled the input.
    So firstWord.equalsIgnoreCase(b[count]) will throw a NullPointerException in that case.
    You might check for null value.
    Note:str1.equals(str2) will throw a NullPointerException when str1 is null, but str2 can be null without a NullPointerException being thrown:String str1 = null;
    String str2 = "toto";
    System.out.println(str1.equals(str2)); // NullPointerException
    System.out.println(str2.equals(str1)); // ok (prints false)

  • JOptionPane.showInputDialog and Focus

    I have a program that allows the user to type in a String in a text box and when they hit the enter key the text will appear in a text area. I've also added a menu bar to the program. When the user clicks on File and then Connect from the menu bar I want a JOptionPane to pop up that asks for the user to type in a username and then prompt for a password. And I've gotten all of that to work. Now for the problem. I click on file from the menu bar and then connect and it prompts me for the username as it should. I am able to just type in a phrase in the text field of the username dialog box and hit the enter key and then it prompts me for my password. I am still able to type in a phrase in the text field of the password Dialog box, however when I hit the enter key, the Dialog box does not close as it did for the username Dialog box. It will still close if I click on the OK button, but just pressing the enter key does not close the Dialog box as it did when it prompted for a username. I'm thinking I need to direct the focus to the password dialog box, but not sure how to go about doing this. Any help in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

And I also got to exclude few values from this infoobject as well as have a variable.  When I select and exclude my value from selsction and run the report, I get a system error and the varibale is converted to mandatory entry. The detail error message is displayed below.  Any useful input will be awarded
    Diagnosis
    Variable &V1& is used in the query in such a way, that an optional entry is not possible.
    For example, you might be using an "Exclude", or the variable might be connected using OR to additional selections for &V2& in the global filter, but is still displayed in the columns selections.
    It is also not possible to use an optional parameter variable to fill an interval selection in either the from-field or the to-field.
    System response
    Procedure
    If you are able to accept the mandatory entry, you need not do anything. Otherwise you must work with several variables in the query. You can use an optional interval variable to do this.

    Hi Joe -
    I attempted to install the Azure Powershell using the instructions here:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/install-configure-powershell/
    Upon completion I was unable to find Azure Powershell from Start/Programs:
    I then attempted to re-install Azure Powershell.  Initially, it came up with the error: "There was an error loading custom feed: 'http://www.microsoft.com/web/webpi/2.0/ToolsProductList.xml'. Error: 'ProductId PHP not found.'."
    I clicked OK and WPI indicated that the Azure Powershell would be installed.  I clicked INSTALL and WPI showed Azure Powershell in the list, but the Total File Download size was 0MB.  I clicked I ACCEPT and it immediately blinked back that Azure
    Powershell was installed.
    When I clicked FINISH, however, the following was displayed:

    I did attempt to open the regular Powershell and use the command Get-AzureVM, but the following error was returned:
    The term 'Get-AzureVM' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the
    spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.

  • Catching JSP Compile Errors

    I would like to be able to display a user-friendly error page in the event that a JSP fails to compile. Is there some entry I can put in web.xml or weblogic.xml that will allow me to redirect to an error page? I have tried using error-code=500, and also exception-type=weblogic.servlet.jsp.CompilationException in web.xml, neither of which has worked. We use WebLogic 8.1 SP4.
              Thanks,
              Mike

    Try the following instead...
    If the problem persists, pls. post the errors again.
    if ( m_transaction.connect() )
    out.println("Connected okay");
    else
    out.println("Connection Failed");
    %>
    </b>
    </body>
    </html>

  • JOptionPane.showInputDialog Help!!!!

    Hello,
    I'm using JOptionPane.showInputDialog(Component parentComponent,
    Object message,
    String title,
    int messageType,
    Icon icon,
    Object[] selectionValues,
    Object initialSelectionValue ).
    which prompts the user to add some text and the same will be stored for later retrieval.
    In this case, JOptionPane pops up with a label, textfield,OK & Cancel buttons.
    Default focus is given to to the TextField.
    Is there anyway to get access to the TextField via code ?
    For example, if the user types "Hello World" in the given TextField, then I need to get the Text entered in
    the TextField in the following manner.
    String myStr = myJOptionPaneTextField().getText();
    System.out.println("Entered Text is "+ myStr);
    How can I Achieve the same ?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    vargav

    Why? At what point do you know you should manipulate the text? Usually, it would be when the user clicks OK, at which point it doesn't matter because the dialog is dismissed. So what kind of operations do you expect to be able to do?
    Aside from that, I'm not sure how to get the text field in the option pane, per se... It can be gotten by digging thru the pane's components til you find a text field. But you'd need to do that in a separate thread. So it's not really feasible to do that.... There is an alternative:
    The message is an object, and it can be an array of objects, which will all be added, and thus can include a message string and a text field...
    JTextField myfield = new JTextField();
    Object[] obj = new Object[2];
    obj[0] = "Enter some text here:";
    obj[1] = myfield;
    if(JOptionPane.showOptionDialog(obj, "Enter Text", JOptionPane.OK_CANCEL_OPTION) == JOptionPane.OK_OPTION) {
       String value = myfield.getText();
    }Then you can do whatever you want with the text field... but the same problem is there, you have lost the dialog before you can do anything.
