Category Titles all ending in e.g. Windows 8?

Why do many of the category titles on this forum end in "e.g. Windows 8"? I'm looking under hardware, but Windows 8 is of course software, I don't get it. Is there some meaning here I'm missing? Or is it what seems more likely that the creator of the categories wasn't good with communicating in English or Latin?

In the past the forum had a dedicated section when a new OS was released_such as Windows 7. At the time there was a seperate forum section for support. The forum has grown by leaps & bounds and it has been needed to divide categories more and more. With all of the categories we now have it is a relief not to have yet another section to monitor-such as Win 8 dedicated.
I agree though, it is a bit confusing or maybe just not aesthetically pleasing, imo, to have Windows 8 listed in all the sections titles. Hoping to see it removed soon myself.

Category Title Text Corrupted

Occasionally, the text for the category titles in the main iTunes window gets a little garbled.
This is what it looks like:
Has anyone else experienced this?
This is on a 15" MacBook Pro 2.16GHz, Radeon Mobility x1600 w/256MB, 2GB RAM running OS X 10.4.9. If I recall, it's been like this since iTunes 7.

I get this same issue and I agree it's been happening since I upgraded to 7 (all versions). Fine after restart but very strange bug. Hope someone figures it out. Happens on all three of my Macs

When I click on the - fire fox disappears from the task bar; it is still open but gone from the task bar, if I click on any icon it opens a new Firefox window, I end up with several windows open but none on the task bar.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Title and end slides in IMovie?

Is there any way to have a blank background you can write on for the title and ending in iMovie '09.
I don't want that info superimposed over the video. I would have thought they could provide a single panel to do that similar to all the other titles they offer. Do you have to make that elsewhere and import it?

Wow, thank you, Apple man! That was simple. However, I found that when I select the Centered title which shows a larger heading and a smaller subheading, as soon as I try to select a font, color, and size, both lines, heading and subheading, default to the same size, and won't go back to 2 different size fonts. It seems to be one text field, rather than two separate one, as it is in the "Lower Third" title.
I guess that can't be helped.

Does anyone know how to display forms title as a part of IE window title in Webforms 10g?
For example: if I am on the Order Entry form, the IE title would be Order Entry - Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Yes, I did change the pageTitle in the formsweb.cfg to have the Application name. And you are right that is the one time only...
I would like to somehow passing a forms title as a variable that is appended to the Application title at runtime.
Gerd, you mention about the java applet which can interact back to the IE-engine. Have you done one before? I am new to this concept.

Since upgrading to FF v4, every time I open a "new window", all other instances of FF windows open, how can I keep this from happening?

Since I started using FireFox version 4, every time I open a "new window", all other instances of FireFox windows open up. This is annoying as it often covers up instances I am currently using with instances that I don't wish to use right now. I can't seem to find a way to keep this behavior from occurring.

How can I shut off all of the pop-up windows for all the Firefox and Thunderbird updates?
Apparently now Mozilla creates new versions of their browser and email apps every two weeks instead of just creating updates... I'm tired of all of the pop-up requests for these constant installation requests and all the problems that the new version installations create... I just want to use the software and be left alone.
I can't find a way to make Firefox and Thunderbird stop with the pop-up requests for new installations... is there a way to do this or has Mozilla just got it rigged so one can't just use the software without re-installing a new version every two weeks and running in to new plugin issues and missing features every time?

I am able to open PDFs from the Internet normally using the Adobe Reader X plugin, but for some reason, it doesn't kick in when I open local PDF files.
I am using Firefox 4.0.1 and Adobe Reader X.

Do you have any graphics editing software like photoshop or something similar.?
Surely you can just open both images, resize the image you want to add, then copy and paste it into the main image. Save this as a new file and set it as the background.
If you need a graphics editing program you can download one called The Gimp for free. Just make sure you have X11 installed.

When viewing an album on the iPhone you can tap "Photos" at the bottom and that will show all photos by date. Unfortunately though it is all photos, not just the album you are currently viewing.
What I have done is the following. On the computer I have a main folder (e.g. iPhone photos) and then make sub-folders within that. Placing photos that will be synched to the iPhone into various subfolders gives quite a bit of organizational capablility. In iTunes when you select the main folder to sync, the sub-folders will show on the iPhone as separate albums. Beyond that, in one case where I really wanted a specific sort within an album I renamed the photos on the computer (something like A-picxxx, B-picxxx) so they sorted on the computer alphabetically in the order I want on the phone. That sort order was maintained after the sync.
Note that each time you sync using iTunes, the non-Camera Roll pictures on the phone will be set to match the current iTunes settings/photos -- so you can experiment.

Short version: Find the window and send it a message with
SendMessage.
Open up Spy++ and find your form's window. You will see that the window has children and they have classes of the form "WindowsForms10.EDIT.*" Those are TextBox controls. You can call things like SetWindowText to set the
text of the window to clear it.
To do this programmatically, you'll have to obtain the window hand that corresponds to the control. You can find windows with
FindWindowEx or
EnumWindows. Locate the window by name or class or whatever else you can determine about it. Find the child windows and "clear" them however you wish. I assume you mean to set empty strings to all the TextEdit controls. If you
intend to do something more sophisticated than that, then you'll have to be more specific about what you mean by "Clear all the data".
It may or may not be obvious that you'll be poking around with Win32 API calls via PInvoke to accomplish much of this. Example:
SetWindowText via PInvoke.
