CBT continues when attached file opens

I have attached a pdf file though a text box. The pdf file
opens in a new window. I would like the project to stop when the
pdf is open and then have the user be able to continue the cbt by
clicking on a continue button. I'm sure there is a way to
accomplish this, I just can't seem to figure it out. The Click Box
options are currently set to Stop slide audio when clicked. I have
tried including the option of Pause project until user clicks and
received the same results. The Continue button options are set to
Pause for success/failure options and Stop slide audio when
clicked. Any ideas?

Hi dkoza
When you configure the link that opens the PDF, look to the
right of where you type the URL. You should see a down arrow
button. Click that and you have options. Choose the New option and
it should open in a new window. Click a second time and you should
be able to DE-select the "Continue playing project" option (which
is enabled by default). This should keep the the project from
progressing until you are ready.

Hello All,
As part of our OWA security we are planning to block attachment except web view only for limited files.
Problem we see is when we open the attachment the icon is displayed which does allow to print or save as xps..
Is there a way that we can block the print option when using OWA to open attachment.

Hi,
The Print is the feature within the WebReady Document Viewing feature of OWA. Generally, when the WebReady Document Viewing is enabled, users don't need to download the attachment and then fire up an application to view it. They can
just click on the "View as Web Page" link and the WebReady Viewing version will open.
If you want to block the Print when Attachment is opened as web only, we need to directly block the
WebReady Document Viewing feature in OWA as a workaround.
If you don’t want to block the whole feature, I suggest we can ask a question in Exchange Development forum to confirm if the Print can be blocked by using any code. To ask a question in Development forum, please click:

Wait a second, Photoshop can make lattes now? Personally I prefer my coffee black, but man have I been under-utilizing this program.

My browsers on Mac keep crashing when attaching files

My browsers on MBP keep crashing when attaching files to my emails. I had the same problem with Safari, Firefox browsers and also with Gmail, Yahoo accounts. I emptied the cache, reset safari. It says its due to flash player..Uninstalled flash player, re-downloaded it, made safari work at 32 bit, made gmail attachments work at basic settings.. I repaired permissions using utilities ..also I have no internet plugins, no yahoo browser plus but nothing seems to work.. Any help? Many thanks

Mail freezes when attaching file

I suddenly can't attach files to mail that I'm sending. The mail program freezes and I have to force quit (it says "mail not responding" in force quit box). I can still send mail if there are no attachments. Anyone know what to do?

Could be many things, we should start with this for safety...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.

Error when attaching files from SharePoint library to an Outlook email?

I've got a user who's reporting that recently she started getting en error whenever she tries to attach a file from a SharePoint library to an Outlook email.
When she either drags from the library in Windows Explorer, she receives this:
When uses Attach File via Outlook and navigates to the library, she receives this:
If the file is checked out, or if require check out is disabled, then it attaches.
Anyone know why this might have started happening? I'm assured it has historically been working for the past couple years.

Crashing / Unexpectedly quitting when attaching files etc.

I have this query posted in a couple of different places but some developments in my own investigation have led me to post it again.
Initially, I noticed I could no longer attach files in yahoo mail. Until tuesday this week, I have always been able to. Then I realised I couldn't attach them to skype of send them through yahoo messenger. When trying to attch files, the 'browse' page comes up, I select the file, the computer thinks for a moment then kicks me out of the software - 'safari unexpectedly quit'
Then I noticed spotlight has stopped working.
Through advice from posting bits of this in various places, I have run repair disc, disc permission, printed off log on console, tried to start spotlight again by using a command in terminal.
Nothing has made the slightest bit of difference.
However, I've just been fiddling with folders in finder - if i go to view and then 'arrange icons as columns' (incidentally, how the browse thing organises them when attching files) and then if I try to open a file, the computer can't cope - console tells me 'Finder crashed'
mds apparently crashes every few minutes and that is also what it says when safari quits.
I updated software last week - I keep up to date so it was only itunes and 2 'powerPC (???)' things but ever since then, it hasn't worked.
The only other thing I've done recently is to have contacted Netgear to reset my router and setup new WEP key for my wireless connection as I had lost the password but I can't see that that would have made any difference.
Please help someone - I'm getting desperate as I rely on being able to attch files as part of my job.

Next time to find out exactly what you installed System preferences->Sotware Update Installed Software ->Show as Log button on the bottom.
To find out why Safari is crashing posting the latest & entire safari crash log is a great troubleshooting tool which we never did get to because the
metadata was crashing as well & now so was the finder I read. So something was askew with the os software, missing files not proper installation of the os. Third party software incompatibly.
A myriad of things could of gone wrong hard to know, I understand you wanting to know, it would be a good way to avoid this from happening again.

PS CS5.1 crashes when using file open but not with bridge or "open as smart object"

I'm using a Mac with Snow Leopard and Photoshop CS5.1 Extended
When i try to open a file largen than ~50MB with double click in finder or with file>open in PS, the program loads the psd and shows it, then 2-3 seconds later PS crashes. If the psd is under ~50MB everything is fine.
If i open it with file>open as smart object or via the mini bridge, everything is fine, and i can work with it.
How can this be fixed?

Photoshop cs3 hangs when using "File open"

I am running Photoshop CS3 extended on an HP desktop XP( fully updated) computer - 2 GB RAM -running fine util tonight when i tried to do a "file>open" the file menu idsappears in a split second and then it locks. It acts the same when i use the keyboard shortcut. But if i reopen it and try to open a file through Bridge-it works fine. it also allows me to open recent files.

Are you allowing enough time for PS to do its "thing?" By that, I mean that since CS, PS loads and looks ready. Count to 5, and all of a sudden, you will see the hourglass up for a moment. Count to 2, and the hourglass will flash on very briefly. Then, it's ready to go. I've only had one PS lockup from ver. 2.5, and it was because I was anxious to go, PS "looked" ready to go, and I hit File>Open too soon. Palettes go white, "Not Responding" shows in the program title bar, and boom - a lockup.
Speculation was afoot, back when Activation began, CS, that PS was "phoning home," to check with Adobe, to see if all was OK. This was never confirmed, and people without an Internet connection still had this little pause, though their program ran fine, without the Internet.
I quickly learned to be patient, until I see the two hourglass "blinks." This is on two very fast systems, though with CS2. My speculation is that the reason that PS will run fine when an image in Bridge, or Windows Explorer launches it, is that you (and I) are not hitting keys, while it does its little hourglass dance. Instead, we're waiting for our image to Open, and PS is smart enough to not fully load that, until it's good and ready.
I hope that this is what you encountered and nothing more sinister.

Most applications hang when performing File | Open

Hello,
Excel 2013, Word 2013, Notepad+ and other applications all hang when File | Open is selected. I read a post stating that it could be related to printers.
When I try to go to Control Panel | Devices and Printers, nothing loads so I would guess there is something wrong with printers.
Would anyone have a suggestion on how to debug printer problems on Windows 8.1?

To narrow down the issue, please try to boot into clean boot and see if the open/save dialog would work:

For the Devices and Printers not load, could you please give us a screenshot? Besides, please also check into Event Viewer and see if there are any errors logged. Use Windows Search to search Event Viewer, then select
View Event Logs

For Windows 8.1 hangs, please take a try with a refresh or reset, then check the results.

Safari Freezes when attaching files

Hello Someone/Everyone,
My Safari browser freezes when I attach files using yahoo. I've updated to the newest flash. still nothing. I've read the majority of the discussions here and no luck. Most involve viewing a crash report. I don't have a crash report since it technically doesn't crash. It simple doesn't allow me to do anything else so I have to force quit the application using the activity monitor. Any ideas on what to do... thanks in advance for your help.

Uninstall the BrowserPlus which isn't compatible with Safari 5. That's why Safari is freezing why you attache files in Yahoo mail.

Hi - Recently Illustrator CS 5.1 will not let me use File >> Open to open a document. It immediately hangs and I get the beach ball and have to force quit (on a Mac) and in the force quit menu the program name will turn to red and say not responding. I can open new docs as well as double click and drag files over the AI icon with no issue. Saving seems to be fine as well. Any ideas as to what would be causing this? I've checked all fonts and everything gets a clean bill of health there. Plus no new fonts have been installed.
