CCA/PCA
Hi-
What is the purpose of assigninging he profit center in the cost center mater data?
I know we assign the profit center in sales orders to post revenues.
Thank you!
Moderator: Please, refer to basic CO material on help.sap.com
Hi,
The profit center is ALWAYS derived from the real account assignment. So if you have an real account assignment to a cost center in a line item then the system will derive the PRCTR from the cost center.
Module K_COBL_CHECK will check if the profit center delivered is identical to profit center of the account assignment. In case they differ, the system will overwrite the profit center with the profit center from the cost center if the cost center is a real account assignment.
This is the basis logic of controlling. A cost center can have just 1 profit center. Otherwise it would not be possible to compare CO and PCA.

BI with CCA, PCA & CO-PA
Hi Guys,
Can anyone explain me the difference between CCA, PCA & CO-PA with BI.
Say if I have CO-PA in my client will I be going for CCA & PCA or all three modules are different.
I gone thru few forums and sites, but these CCA , PCA & CO-PA are confusing. How are they linked? are these come under comtrolling?
can anybody just give me brief overview on the above modules and some good links to explore more this with bw.

Integrated Planning - Retraction to R/3 from BI 7.0 (CCA & PCA)
Dear collegues,
Actually, I have to do some retraction for integrated planning of CCA and PCA (two projects for the same customer).
The integrated planning works allredy very well. Now I have to retract the plannig data back to the R/3 (NW 2004 - System). I have allready read the very interesting blogs of Praveen, but i am not able to rebuild it on my system. For example the dictionary structures /1SEM/_YS_CHASE_ are missing on my systems. On the other hand, I am not sure, on which system I have to build up the retraction (on the R/3 or on the BI 7.0).
Are there any trapdoor, I have to avoid in my project?
Has anybody further information, how to setup a retraction in case of cca or pca with BI 7.0?
I would be very happy, if someone could post an actual blog for retraction with R/3 and BI 7.0...
greetings,
Björn DahlschenHi ,
IP does not have retraction capabilities like BPS.
However you would have to utilize the BPS0 framework for the retraction piece.
Since you mentioned that you have input queries ready so I assume you have the transactional infocube ready. You dont have to copy the infocube to anything....
Please create an planning area attached the transaction infocube that you already created.
Create the planning level for CCA usually cost center , cost element , period amount etc.
Create the planning function - This is the retraction exit.
Create the structures in UPB_STRUCT for retraction as well.
Let me know if this was helpful.

my email id is [email protected]Dear Aleksey,
If I understand correctly, I can create a rule in the following customizing step "Define rules for selecting CO line items" in order to implement the behavior I want which is to update FI for every cost transfer between cost centres.
Can you confirm?
Thanks a lot for your quick answer. -
LSMW/FICO/2007 BUDGET-CCA/PCA
HI ALL,
I WANT TO UPLOAD LEGACY DATA FOR 2007 BUDGET INCLUDING CCA AND PCA.CAN ANYBODY GIVE ME RELEVENT TRANSACTION OR DIRECT METHOD OF LSMW REGARDING THIS.

Hi Experts!
In our new project we should integrate a new company to our SAP system.
The new company is using many non-SAP systems (for billing, SD etc).. only FI and CCA/PCA is in place.
The main reporting requirement is to have profitability by paper machine.
The point is that in our SAP system we have only COPA.
My question would be how should I start to build up the concept to transfer their PCA system into our COPA system?
My idea was to take FI bookings coming from interfaces from other systems and either book them to a cost center and allocate it further to COPA and/or building up a direct profitability segment posting in FI postings...
Is there anything where I have to pay extra attention?
Thanks for your ideas/suggestions!Hi,
I'd suggest, if it's possible, to build the profitability segment already with FI documents passed to your main system. Alternatively, you could think of an option to populate your CO-PA directly by independent interface from the combination of the local systems and other SAP. Then of course, your CO-PA will contain integrated documents from your SAP and 'disconnected' information from other systems, but still it would be possible to give proper profitability analysis. Keep in mind, that CO-PA mostly is a BI cube and could be managed totally independent from other SAP components if required. I implemented this oprion in several projects I was involved in.

Profit Center deriviation from Cost Center
Hi all,
I have just configured CCA and PCA for one of our new company code.
I have created 3 cost centers like A, B, C and subsequently same have been created as profit centers too.
Maintained the profit center in the cost center master data.
No other derivation rules has been configured so far.
Now i am trying to do a expense posting with F-02, after entering cost center, system is updating profit center field with a dummy profit center only.
Even i f a changed the dummy to normal profit center, again system replacing the normal PC with dummy PC.
I want like...when i enter CC as A, then i need to derive PC also as A for the line item. ( For both expense items as well as revenue items).
Please suggest.
Regards,
SrinuHi Chintan,
Thanks for your quick response.
We have already implemented the said SAP note.
Let me explain my requirement again.
We have IOA, CCA, PCA active in our system.
For every expense or revenue line item Internal order is mandatory.
apart from we have 3 cost centers and 3 profit centers ( 1:1 )
in cost center master , profit center is assigned.
1) users are going to decide the cost center, while posting FI direct entries only. So while doing F-02, they will enter CC, and IO manually and at the same time PC should derive from cost center master data ( as it is 1:1 only).
2) as specified above, we have IOA, CCA, PCA active. In this case IO, CC, PC are to be set as mandatory fields for Field Status Groups G004 and G029?
Please advise...

Srinu -
Hi!
Does someone know the main differences between BW-BPS and SAP APO. When should I pick one tool and when the other.
Best Regards,
Teresa.BW-BPS and APO are very different products.
BW-BPS tend to be high level or generic planning and occassionally detailed level planning. Some common planning applications to be developed are Sales Planning, Inventory Planning, Profitability Planning, CCA/PCA planning, Financial statement planning, etc.
APO is more Supply Chain Management for production or demand planning with MRP and capacity checking.... -
Hi FI/CO experts,
I am new to SAP but I have been practicing for a year in SAP FI/CO not worked on real projects. I have knowledge in GL,AP,AR, CO(CCA,PCA,PC,PA), ABAP. Can I start working in CO module, do we really need to have real time work experience of FI to start working in CO or a good knowledge in FI is enough to manage CO module.
Please need some advice.
Thanks,
NiviHi,
Good morning and greetings,
As you know that SAP is a ocean and the knowledge we may possess is a drop...the technical terms you have posted in your query is all correct and shows that you have understanding on the concepts, but for mapping that into a business process is the real challenge for Product Costing...;-)...There are more concepts like Repetitive Manufacturing, Discrete Manufacturing etc which are more business process specific.
Please reward points if found useful
Thanking you
With kindest regards

Dear All,
Can anyone explain about what are the things need to care in cutover strategy for CO, each compoenent wise, CCA.,PCA, IO.COPC and COPA.

for delta queue check this
https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001584392004#17
I intend to copy the source system, i.e. make a client copy. What will happen with may delta? Should I initialize again after that?
Before you copy a source client or source system, make sure that your deltas have been fetched from the DeltaQueue into SAP NetWeaver BI and that no delta is pending. After the client copy, an inconsistency might occur between SAP NetWeaver BI delta tables and the OLTP delta tables as described in Note 405943. After the client copy, Table ROOSPRMSC will probably be empty in the OLTP since this table is client-independent. After the system copy, the table will contain the entries with the old logical system name which are no longer useful for further delta loading from the new logical system. The delta must be initialized in any case since delta depends on both the SAP NetWeaver BI system and the source system. Even if no dump 'MESSAGE_TYPE_X' occurs in SAP NetWeaver BI when editing or creating an InfoPackage, you should expect that the delta has to be initialized after the copy. -
Suppose i have 13 queries which is from different application areas - FI , CCS , EAM
Now this application areas are further divided into sub area like:
FI - CC/PCA , GL , Consolidation.
CCS - Billing , Back Office
EAM - Service , Regulatory
Now assuming these 13 queries are in these different sub-areas
CCA/PCA - Query1
GL - Query2 , Query3
Consolidation - Query 4 , Query 5 , Query 6
Billing - Query 7 , Query 8
Back Office - Query 9
Service - Query 10 , Query 11
Regulatory - Query 12 , Query 13
Now assume that there are 2 users A and B.
Now user A has access to the below mentioned :
FI -CCA/PCA - Query1
FI -Consolidation - Query 4
CCS - Billing - Query 7
Now the approach i was thinking of was to create Roles in the PCD for the Application area and Sub areas,
For Eg : FI Role , CC/PCA Role , GL Role , Consolidation Role.
Also create ivews in PCD for all the Queries and then assign these Ivews to the respective sub areas and then these sub area will be delta linked to the Application Areas. Now the problem is if i take this approach and i assign a specific role to the end user in PCD he/ she will be able to see all the queries that are assigned to that role even though he/ she is suposed to just see 1 query instead of 2 queries which he is authorized to run in the back end BI system(PFCG) as in the example above for user A.Is there any other approach i can take to do this restrictions. We are on BI 7.0-SP 11, EP 7.0 and we plan to use the federated approach.Hey Chetan,
There are a few ways to do this. To use the portal for this, you would have to assign authorizations by iViews to the users. You can manage this with groups, but this is going to be a maintenance nightmare.
Personally, I would do one of two things. Either create a portal web service to dynamically do the assignment by reading BI security, or create a java portlet that renders the BI queries in a hierarchy.
1. Create a WSDL around RS_VC_OPEN_OBJECTS_GET.
2. Pass parameters for the object you'd like to get back:
OBJVIEW
00 = InfoArea
01 = History
02 or 12 = Favorites
03 = Search
04 = Roles
OBJVIEW = 03
OBJTYPE = QU
OPEN_MODE=X
OBJTYPE =
Nothing
QU Query
VW View of a Query
DP DataProvider for Web Reporting (Queries and Views)
WB Workbook
HT HTML Template
IT Item
IC InfoCube
VA Variable
CH Characteristic
KF Key Figure
ST Structure (Reusable)
CR Crystal Report
IL Library of Web Items
IA InfoArea
IP InfoProvider (As Data Provider)
SO Selection Object (in BW WEb Applications)
BI BEx Web Item
BT BEx Web Template
3. This returns the hierarchy. Then render this hierarchy using some manual java or javascript. You could even use YUI for this stuff. It is more work now to build this workaround, but it will save you maintenance in the long run.
I typically try to avoid doing query level authorization at all costs.
Here's some sample code that isn't fully complete that might get you started with using treeview in YUI. I took the dynamic rendering model from YUI and built the first level node structure. All you have to do is make this recursive. Then on click you can call a web service WSDL wrapper around RSWAD_URL_GET to create and launch the URL. This is a dynamic rendering of a tree from a web service call. I'm going to add portal service call eventually to this example. I'll write this up as a how-to guide when I have time. Then the solution will be fully baked to dynamically render all portal security and BI security displaying only objects one should see, in one uniform hierarchy... Just google YUI for their dev kit...

Hello Everyone,
I would like to know, for what purpose we use planning in COPA? We have separate planning for CCA, PCA and PC.
Thanks
SnehaHI Sneha,
COPA Planning is Defferent from cca, pca et. In COPA Planning we will plan the forecast sales quantity and forecast revenue, etc information given by the HO, From the COPA Planning PP will import the plan data into Production module. Based on the stock avaible in the storage location, rest will create a demand management, and it wil start procurement process and create the planned order etc. Plaease go throgh following steps
1 Sales plan KEPM
2 production paln MC88
3 Transfer to demant management MC74
4 convert tproduction paln into active rversrsion In demand managament MD62
5 mrp run MD02
6 stock/requirement list ND04
7 Generate pr from mrp run MD04
8 release pr ME55/54N
9 create po from pr ME51N
10 relese po ME28/29N
11 goods receipt MIGO

Hi,
I'd like to to know what will be the "preferred planning tool" for OPM (Spends Analytics and other Analytics) : BI-IP or BPC ?
Thanks a lot,
FredHi Manish,
BPC has a single measure and is always the current view with data only being able to be posted to the lowest/base members. It is essentially equivalent to planning on accounts data model in BI (usually used for Financial areas such as CCA, PCA or BCS type cubes) and using a text hierarchy with no time dependency of hierarhcy nor master data.
Everything is fine if you have low data volume and/or not a lot of measures (key figures) so can afford to have everything at the lowest level of detail. But if you cannot plan at the lowest level and need to summarize, realignment can be a significant issue, especially with product and customer hierarchies. I had done some work when we replaced Hyperion's Essbase with BW several times where data volume being what it was (high), they summarized to product category, week in Essbase so realignment was a significant problem. That resulted in the move from Essbase to BW.
Financial charts of account do not change that often but product and customer hierarchy do. Some companies also have frequent changes in organization hierarchy in efforts to rationalize and improve supply chain efficiencies. A lot of the sales and profitability planning models I have worked with are 50-100 KFS, that has tremendous volume implication on an accounts model where it is coverted to 50-100 rows. The volume compounded with realignment present signficant challenges.
Would future versions of BPC be capable of supporting multiple measures ? This might give us a choice in data modelling and lessen the volume and performance impacts. Otherwise, we would find it challenging using BPC for OPM in a high volume environment with frequent realignments.
I do like the BPC interface but feel strongly that we need the master data integration (strong preference with the ability to use time dependency) and options of something other than a single measure in terms of data modelling.
Thanks,
Mary
