Cellular via USB disconnects after a few seconds for no reason

Hi. I have a iMac (SN <Edited by: Host>) running Leopard 10.5.7
and a Samsung SPH-m800 which connects to the Mac
via a USB cable.
Now I tried to download my music from my Mac to my cell
via Bluetooth, but it's just too slow.
So, I wanted to download with the USB cable.
I connect the 2 together, the cell shows up as a disk (white disk icon)
on the desktop for a few seconds then I get a warning DEVICE REMOVAL
(The device was not put away correctly). I did not touch anything
and when I return to the cell CONNECT TO PC is at OFF (I put
it ON before).
Can anyone help?
Thanks

if you ipod that you are experiencing problems with has an effective warranty on it, then i suggest returining it, if there is no warranty on it then send it in for reapirs. hope i could help.

iChat disconnects after a few seconds and starts to blink the whole screen
this started since I installed Leopard; if I go back to 10.4 it works OK. I got rid of all the plist and it still hangs up. How can I uninstall this. On my laptop it works OK but I installed it with complete erase on laptop; on my desktop I stalled it over the old system.
error message AIM time out An AIM service error occurred.
    Error: Serv:RequestTimeout
and you have attemptedto log too often in a short period of time. wait a few minutes before trying to login in again.
EVEN THOUGH I ONLY TRIED ONCE TO LOG IN.

If you Archived and Installed then check iChat launches from the Applications Folder.
If it does that Drag the current (iChat 3) icon off the DOCK and drag iChat 4 to the DOCK.

  • USB sticks get disconnected after a few seconds

    Hi guys!
I got a problem with 2 of my 4 USB-Ports on my new iMac 21" (Mai 2012). To the first 2 USB-ports I hooked up my printer and my TimeMachine-HDD. The other ones I use for pluggin' in USB-datasticks . For some time now either one of these problems occur:
The USB-Stick doesn't show up at all - or: it connects for a few seconds, but then the warning appears which says I hadn't remove a disk safely. Apparently this only happens with usb-datasticks. My external harddrives work fine on them.
As long as they appear for some seconds they are also regocnized by the Disk-Utility program. Once I even managed to run the Volume-control; said the stick was fine...
This is what I already tried:
    - made sure that the sticks plugg in right (they do)
    - formatted the sticks (formatted to Mac OS Journaled extended)
    - rebooting the imac (sometimes helps for a few minutes)
    - I reset the SMC by shutting down, removing the powerplug for sometime and then booting up again (didn't change a thing)
    - I tried to connect other external devices to these USB-ports (USB-keyboard) - most of them work fine!!!
    - Thought that maybe it was a problem with MacFuse/NTFS-3G; but I have the same config on my macbook. There the problem doesn't show.
I really do not know what to do next! I rely on the transfer of data per USB-Sticks enormously.
Do you guys have any idea?
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

  • Nano Disconnects After a few seconds

As I describe this problem, please keep in mind the following details:
    1. My other two iPods (a Mini and a new Video one) both work flawlessly on the same computer and port that the Nano has problems with.
    2. Windows AND iTunes DO recognize the Nano.
What this means is that the common suggestions, such as check drivers, try other USB port, check cable, reinstall iTunes, etc, etc, do not apply here.
Now, for the actual problem ....
When I plug in the Nano, everything proceeds as it should; the "do not disconnect" message appears on the iPod, iTunes recognizes the iPod, etc.
After about 15 seconds, however, the iPod auto-disconnects, and iTunes becomes unresponsive. Windows also loses the iPod in the Device Manager. iTunes eventually reports that it can not access the iPod, which of course makes perfect sense, since the iPod did not stay connected as it should.
All common sense solutions have already been tried, as have all of the typical Apple suggested solutions, such as restore and reset.
I am now posting here in hopes that someone else has experienced this EXACT problem and knows either the cause or the solution.
    Many thanks.

if you ipod that you are experiencing problems with has an effective warranty on it, then i suggest returining it, if there is no warranty on it then send it in for reapirs. hope i could help.

  • Remote desktop connects, black screen, disconnects after a few seconds

I have several servers running Windows Server 2012 R2. These servers are used for testing, and are members of a domain which has two DCs, each of which are running DNS Server.
Yesterday I noticed one of the servers was having an issue with its remote desktop connection. If I try remoting into this machine, it connects to a black screen, sits there for 2-3 seconds and then promptly disconnects. No error message is given. I tried
this from a couple different Windows 7 machines, and got the same result. I tried from my wife's iMac, which runs Jump Desktop, and too was met with the same result.
I can, however, remote into this machine via RDP from my work-issued laptop, which is running Windows 8. However, I cannot remote into the problem machine via Remote Desktop Connection from one of the 2012 R2 servers--I am met with the same result as the
other machines: connect, black screen for 2-3 seconds, disconnect without error.
I can remote into all of the other 2012 R2 servers without issue from any machine, including the iMac. I am experiencing this problem on one server only.
Since it is a test server, I reinstalled Windows from scratch this morning. This meant formatting the SSD and wiping everything out. I reinstalled the drivers, joined the server back to the domain and installed all of the updates available from Windows Update.
And rebooted. And yet, the problem persists!
I tried troubleshooting the "usual suspects," like turning off Windows Firewall, disabling antivirus software (currently none installed), disabling IPv6, setting a static IP instead of using DHCP, etc. I did notice the network adapter said it was
on a Network, not a Domain Network. I corrected DNS settings, and the network reidentified itself as being on the ParietalBone.net network. And yet, the problem persists. Remote Desktop to this server still yields a black screen for 2-3 seconds, followed by
a disconnect--EXCEPT from the aforementioned Windows 8 machine.
I looked in the TerminalServices-LocalSessionManager log on the offending server, and there are no errors. I only see repeated entries that say "Session X has been disconnected, reason code 12," where X is 1 or 2. On a couple occasions, the reason
code is 11. But I don't see any errors indicating a breakdown in security negotiation.
Without any robust logs or debug details, I'm at a loss of where to look for a solution.

I am cautiously optimistic that this may have been resolved.
The network card in the computer was only a 10/100 built-in card, so I replaced it with a 1Gbps card. Interestingly, this did NOT resolve the issue. I ran netsh to check on the state of the chimney offload, but it was already disabled.
In the network card properties, I changed the link speed and duplex from automatic to 1Gbps full, re-ran "netsh int tcp set global chimney=disabled" and rebooted. The problem persisted.
And so I went to the network card properties and set IPv4 Checksum Offload, Large Send Offload (three of these -- IPv4, v2 IPv4 and v2IPv6) and TCP Checksum Offload (IPv4 and IPv6) to Disabled. Jumbo Frames were also disabled. I rebooted again.
After the subsequent reboot, I was able to connect to this Server from machines that previously gave me difficulty. The only machine I haven't been able to test today (I'm in the office) is my wife's iMac, which is at home. However, I was able to bring this
server up via Jump Desktop on my iPad, so I'm suspecting that perhaps one of the offload options was to blame. I'm not sure why this would allow me to connect from some machines but not others. And as noted above, I have many other machines running Server
2012 R2 and they are NOT experiencing this problem. And I've not done any tinkering with network settings on any of them, so their chimney and offload settings are all in the default configuration.
Regarding the other items -- NIC team, virtual machine, etc. -- there was no NIC team, no SRIOV and no RDMA involved.
I had to turn IPv6 off on this machine, and only on this machine, because having it enabled was causing a lot more problems. DNS registration would keep failing, it couldn't pull Group Policy, it couldn't get time sync with the DC, etc. The servers are all
set up with static IPv4 addresses. The router supports IPv6 but I'm not actually using it, so disabling IPv6 wasn't a concern to me.

  • IPad 2 connects to my network and the internet and disconnects after a few seconds. This started after the last update.

All my other computers work fine with the network settings I have.  I have done the reset in general settings and the toggling of the airplane mode button and a few other suggested remedies such as hard reboot, etC.  Can anyone help?  As much as I hate to do this I am thinking of going to another brand and perhaps someone would recommend one or discourage me from the move.

  • Reader 9.5.1 Crashes after a few seconds for non-Admin users

I have Adobe Reader 9.5.1 installed on some Citrix XenApp 5.0 servers that are Windows 2003.  Any time a non-admin user launches Reader it is open for a matter of seconds and then crashes.  It shows a Dr Watson crash in the error logs each time. If I logon as an Administrator, it works just fine.  I've tried reinstalling/repairing the installation to no avail.
Has anybody run into this in the past or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

My company is into same issue but thing is that I cannot uninstall the MS patch as it will be vulnerability for our servers and we have opened a case with MS and they have reveiwed the proc dump and now MS is asking to get this reviewed with Adobe. I'm not sure how to reach out to Adobe Support to get the fix from them. Any solution on this regard, it will be great help. Thanks, Sayed.

  • Trouble after install stage - LR quits after a few seconds

Hey, I was a suer of the beta and temporary license. I then purchased a box version, de-installed everything. When I launch LR, the screen where I can choose to purchase, use demo (option is no longer opened) vanishes after too few seconds for me to do anything useful and the application quits. Anyone having faced this ? My system is Apple PowerMac G5 Dual, OS X 10.4.9
    Thanks

I have this same problem, and I did a clean installation.
    Hardware:
    2009 MacBoook Pro 17" 3.06 C2D; 4 GB RAM, 256 Apple SSD
While loading the browser is quick starting up, I notice a delay to open any website, like it's preloading the entire page versus just loading.  Safari seems like it's a bit sluggish overall with loading web pages.
Did a internet speed test and my U/D rates are the same after the upgrade.

  • HT201177 My new Mac Mini is plugged directly into my tv via hdmi cable and the screen will abruptly go blank and then return after a few seconds. Why is this happening?

So I recently got a Mac Mini about two weeks ago and for some reason while I am on it the display will go blank and then return after a few seconds. It is happening very frequently. I checked the HDMI cable, I checked my tv and nothing seems to be wrong with them and I don't know what is going on.
I am getting a bit frustrated because this Mac is brand spanking new and it is totally acting up for no reason whatsoever.
Could someone please help me with this? I don't want my new computer to be useless. I need it.

Which TV model do you have?
Be aware of the fact that very many TVs do expect video signals on their HDMI inputs, not data signals from Macs or PCs. Please consult your TV manual if PCs or Macs can definitely be connected via HDMI, or if e.g. only DVI or RGB/VGA connectors are to be used.
In case of DVI inputs for data being present, it's not a problem if an HDMI->DVI adapter, or better, cable is being used.
Many users here are overlooking this potential reason for problems, assuming that HDMI outputs must always communicate with any HDMI input, certainly also because TV manufacturers do not "advertise" such limitations loudly.
AV receivers with multiple HDMI inputs and a single HDMI video output to the TV are typically more "tolerant" and provide a sort of "converter" function. If present, feed a Mac's HDMI signal into the receiver, not the TV directly. If the receiver does not have enough HDMI inputs, consider to connect rather a video source (DVD player or similar) directly to the TV than the the Mac.

  • Video freezes after a few seconds

This is actually a continuation of a post I made almost a year and a half ago, trying to get video chat going so my mom can visit with her grandkids. The thread has been archived, so I can't post there but in case it helps here's the address:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1658017&tstart=0
We are both running Tiger 10.4.11 and iChat AV 3.1.9 (v446), although she's on a 1.25 GHz G4 with 1.5 GB of RAM, and I'm on a 1.8 GHz iMac G5 with 1 GB of RAM. We both have the exact same videocamera, Canon Elura 70, attached via Firewire. Both computers recognize the cameras fine, no problems there.
Anyway, my sister and I have tried 1,000 different things but nothing works. I can always see her but not hear her, and the connection is dropped after a few seconds, saying there's insufficient bandwidth to maintain the conference. She can't see me at all, but she can hear me. The chat usually ends with error -20 and sometimes -22. For instance, here's the log from our try today:
*2010-01-29 11:49:30 -0600: No data has been received for the last 10 seconds.*
*Audio channel info: local machine using 10.0.1.3:16386, expecting remote machine to send to 97.83.147.78:56754*
*Video channel info: local machine using 10.0.1.3:16384, expecting remote machine to send to 97.83.147.78:56752*
    *Chat ended with error -20*
    *Chat ended with error -20*
    *Chat ended with error -22*
    *Chat ended with error -22*
The thing is, we can video conference successfully (video and audio) with each other from separate rooms if we're both at her house, as well as from separate rooms when we're both at mine. However, when we're each at our own home, it won't work. She's got a download speed of 8.5, and mine is 8.3. Her upload speed is 1.01 and mine is 1.74.
I am connected through a router - SMC Barricade (SMC7004VBR), and a WebStar modem. We've both taken the tape out of our camera, set our bandwidth limit in iChat to none. System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming is at 1.5Mbps. I've learned how to access my router settings but I don't see a DoS or SPI setting. It shows firewall features are disabled.
We've also tried to connect with Skype instead, and I was able to see my sister without it freezing. But she couldn't see me, so it still didn't fully work.
I'm totally at a loss. Any ideas?
Edit: Forgot to say her modem is an Ambit U10C018.

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed response. I'm actually feeling a little bit of hope that we might get this figured out eventually!
    iChat 3.x at both ends.
Can Login and show Buddy Lists
    Can Send Visible Invites.
Can Start Video Chat but something says the Bandwidth is then not good enough.
    Error Message.
All true, except she has never been able to see me unless we're both in the same my house.
The Intranet /LAN setting in Tiger for iChat 3 also returns Odd figures to
iChat so we have long said set it to 1.5Mbps which your last post says it is.
I take it you must have restarted iChat f not the Mac(s) since you changed
this setting ? (Just covering all bases)
    Right.
Have you changed the range the SMC uses to miss the range the modem is using ?
The only change I've made to anything recently is in iChat prefs: Under Accounts - Server settings, I changed the top port to 443 because regular iChat kept disconnecting at odd times and I read somewhere that it might help. But we had this AV problem long before that, and after.
I see the SMC cannot Forward enough ports for iChat but Can do UPnP
    (Universal Plug and Play)
Is it set to do UPnP ?
I don't see anything that says UPnP. It says:
    GATEWAY
    IP Address: 192.168.2.1
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    DHCP Server: Enabled
    Firewall: Disabled
On the Port Forward site there are two WebSTARs listed under
    Scientic Atlanta
DO you have either of these ?
    No, it is a DPC2100.
I could also do with seeing an old log of an Error 20 log.
They are stored in You Home Folder/Library/Logs/iChatConnectionErrors
Can you post the bits down and only down to the line that starts "Binary Images for iChat"
Pasted at bottom of this post.
Can you tell me if there is a Wifi and Ethernet connection to the Router ? (at > the same time )
My husband's PC is connected to the router via Ethernet. The only other things connected to it are the modem and my Airport Express so I can get online with my Macs. (I used to have the iMac connected by Ethernet before I realized I had an Airport card. Duh.)
Thanks so much for your patience and help!

  • VTY shell freezes after a few seconds?

    Hi,
I'm experiencing an odd issue; I don't start the X server at boot however, after a few seconds the VTY will just freeze totally?
The system hasn't hung as I can still access over the network via SSH, and the X server when started (via SSH) works fine.
Basically after a few seconds there is no keyboard input, though at first it does work. So after logging into user account I can use it properly before it will just freeze and I will forced to login through the network using SSH.
Last night after a kernel update it seems the issue got remedied but after a reboot seems to have come back.
Kernel version is: 3.17.3-1 64 bit
The actual system is a Zotac D2550 ATOM mini-itx board
keyboard is standard USB PC keyboard
On boot there was a kernel message about something needing to be run with update, but it went too fast for me to catch and couldn't find it in my logs again. I wonder if that's the issue?
Could anyone suggest something I could try in order to be able to debug this? I can provide more information if needed, though at present I'm not sure what. I also attempted to search for the issue but most results came back with kernel freeze which isn't what I'm experiencing as it seems to be either related to usb devices or the VTY shell specifically.
    Thanks.
    [EDIT]
Actually I have just tested and keyboard is not functioning even when running the X server - though it does function at first like stated above.
Quick extra edit, did some more digging:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=185273
    seems related.
GPU is Nvidia! forgot to mention that; lspci mentions it as GT610 - currently using "nvidia" package perhaps I should be using one of the other ones?
Last edited by JohnnySSH (2014-11-17 12:50:31)

The shell is Bash, however I am not sure if it's the shell or VTY directly?? Basically it seems that the input doesn't work any more after a few seconds.... perhaps something to do with USB layer in kernel?
Shell otherwise from SSH is fine (Bash again). Also cursor is flashing but just no input after a while.
    Unfortunately I don't see anything
    Output of dmesg just shows:

    Nothing related in journalctl.

  • Stor.E access point stops working after a few seconds

Purchased a Stor.E Wireless Adapter and followed instructions but after turning the device on by connecting to USB power using supplies cables, WIFI access point disconnects after 4 or around seconds.
    1. i connect the device to usb power
    2. Power light blinks green and stays on
    3. wireless light becomes green and stay on, turns off after a few seconds
Managed to connect to it using the mobile app a few times, while its on, but since the WIFI point disconnects, cannot use it.
    Any thoughts ?

    1. i connect the device to usb power
The Stor.e Wireless Adapter should be connected to mains power and the other end to the external HDD.
Then you could use the app to access the content wirelessly.

  • Quicktime Broadcaster crashes after a few seconds

    Hi
This will probably be all too vague for a good answer but thought I'd ask anyway...
Does have experience of Quicktime Broadcaster being unstable? I've tried using it with a USB webcam (logitech pro 9000) device that works fine with other apps on the Mac and an XP laptop but once broadcasting (to Darwin STreaming Server on another machine) QT Broadcaster crashes after a few seconds or minutes, or when you try to use another application. Looks like memory conflicts but it worked for much longer periods of time earlier this year but after the usual upgrades to 10.4.xx (to 10.4.11) it's become unuseable.
I was wondering if anyone knew if upgrading to 10.5.xx would sort the problem out?
Any help or pointers much appreciated.
    Bill

I'm using the latest version of QT Broadcaster (1.5.2) on a MacBook running OS 10.5.6, using an old external iSight camera for the video input, and I can broadcast for hours without problems. I would recommend an update to Leopard. I might also suggest that you perform a hardware test and check your DRAM, just to be on the safe side.

  • S10e (4187XB5) wireless fails after a few seconds

The wireless thinks it is connected. It connects to the home (or office) wireless without trouble, acquires valid IP address, etc., but behaves as if unconnected after a few seconds.
    I have tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter via Device Manager (after this, I can browse the web for a few seconds, then nothing will load again)
Installing all updates to the system (there were no significant pending updates)
Updating the driver for the Broadcom network adapter
Reverting to the earlier driver for the Broadcom network adapter
    Updating the BIOS.
Firewall is disabled. Ethernet works without issues, but it is not practical to use the netbook on ethernet.
    Assistance would be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you for the suggestions. I do not have the Readycomm application. I did check the power management settings, and it was set to allow the computer to turn off the wireless to save power, so I unchecked and applied that. Still no luck.
I tried running the included PC Doctor 5 software and checking the network card. The Wireless Connectivity Test, Wireless Signal Strength Test and PCI Express Status Test all run without trouble. The TCP/IP Network Communication Test yields "Cannot Run," however. When I check the log, it says that the firewall may be blocking pings to the router, but the firewall is off. I double checked.
Edit: I am considering buying a replacement WiFi card, but I know this will only work if the problem is hardware. I'm still not sure; it seems counterintuitive that I it would be a hardware problem, since I can connect to wireless networks and browse the internet even for a few seconds. I can always see wireless networks and connect to them. It seems to be a TCP/IP problem.
