Cf and encoding of source files ...

hello,
i need to set default encoding of cf, problem is that
-Dfile.encoding
no longer works (from jvm 1.4.1). how to do this ?
thanks,
jan

no i mean encoding used while compiling cf code to java
until now i discovered that used encoding equals to java
encoding
(file.encoding property of System class) that in windows
somehow relates
to locale used by user that runs cf. i want to explicitly
choose encoding.

Isn't this something handled in the header of your html page?

  • Media Encoder CS5 - Source File has a Bad Header

I've got a system demonstration recorded as a .wmv file. I tried adding it to Adobe Media Encoder and I get the following message: "The source file has a bad header. Please check that it is a valid file."
Here is my file name: Web App III part 1.wmv
I even tried changing the file name to: WebApp3Rec1.wmv
    It still won't work. Help!

Hi, a little more info that may help. I have saved PowerPoint 2010 files as .wmv on one computer and if I then try to convert them using Adobe Media encoder on a different computer I get the same bad header message as you. (First computer running vista, second running W7.) However, if I use the second computer to save the PowerPoint file as a .wmv then Media Encoder has no trouble converting it.
    It is very frustrating.

  • How do I stream purchased movies to my Macbook Pro if I've already downloaded them and moved the source files to an external desktop hard drive and I'm away from home?

I recently added a number of movies to my iTunes library by redeeming digital copeis that came with Blu-rays. Due to limted disc space on my MacBook Pro, and for safe keeping, once I downloaded the movies, I moved the source files to an external desktop hard drive. When I'm home and I'm able to access that external HD via my home network, I'm able to watch the movies without an issue. However, if I'm away from home and I want to watch them, I'm not sure how to do that. I thought I could "stream" purchased movies from within iTunes  - even after downloading them - using "iTunes in the Cloud" but can't figure out how to do that, or it simply isn't possible.
    What are my options?

I understand that I can't play my downloaded movies when my external HDD is not connected becuase iTunes is looking for the downloaded files. This is not the issue. The issue is that because my HDD is not connected (as in when I'm away from home) I'd like to be able to stream the movies via the cloud.
If I hadn't downloaded the movies when I redeemed my codes, would I have been able to keep the movies online via Apple iCloud and watched them anytime by streaming them or must the movies be downloaded in order to be viewed on my MacBook?  I read that Apple allows movies purchased (or redeemed) via iTunes to be stored in the cloud via Apple iCloud so that they can be viewed any time, on any device.  IF this is the case, how does it work? From what I can see, it looks like movies can only be "streamed" from the cloud when useing Apple TV; on my iPhone and MacBook Pro, it looks like they need to be downloaded in order to be viewed.
Can someone clarify this for me?
Also - Michael - when you said that If I've already downloaded the film but I'm away from my external HDD I should "Delete the entry from the iTunes library so iTunes only sees the iTunes in the Cloud version", what exactly would this mean? Would this mean that I could then stream the movie from the cloud or would I have to re-download it to my Mac's internal HDD in order to watch it?
    Many thanks!

  • RH10 variable and build tag source file names

I'm using RH10 and outputting to WebHelp. My company requires that I archive project source files to our CVS via Eclipse. I am not using RoboSource_Control and must use the company's development resources for archiving.
Since archiving the initial project, I have been uploading only source files with modified dates.
However, I have discovered that the files I thought were storing user variables and build tags are not the correct files to archive. Since I am uploading all files with a newer date and that's not working, I need to know the user variable source file name and the build tag source file name that stores the currently defined variables and build tags.
I have already tried the WebHelp forum and was directed to this forum to pose the question because I'm looking for source file information instead of output file information.
    Thanks for your help!
    karen

Yes, Eclipse does work that way. However, we do not use our development directory as the local Eclipse repository. I need to move changed files to the local repository (stores all source files in the project) so that Eclipse can upload changes to the server. Yes, this is planned redundancy.
That said, it is not acceptable to spend the time copying all files in the large projects from the work folder to the local repository. I simply need to know which individual files to copy that include the currently defined variables and build tags. Note, we do not copy the SSL folder output files to our local source file repository, or other associated reference files that are not actually project source files.
Can you find someone who knows which files I need?
    Thanks,
    karen

  • Identify modified date/time and name of SOURCE file

I can't seem to find a way to store/retrieve the last-modified date/time of the SOURCE file (as well as filename) used to create a PDF. I looked into the default metadata, but it seems to store only the last-modified date of the PDF.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm a little slow, but I would need more detailed specs on how to solve the problem. Is this something you have implemented yourself? If so, how?

But i need to Delimited and insert the data into table ..Here Header data insert into saperate table and
middlle of the data insert into main table and footer data insert in another table it all happen one attempt by using file read Adapter(11.1.1.1.3)

You have a header parameter in the file datastore. You can provide any number to skip rows from top of the file. For footer you can create a filter in staging area.
Filter coould be something like this.
    where source_alias.source_column not like '%FOOTER_OR_ANY_VALUE_AS_PER_YOUR_REQ'

  • FCE is giving me a missing file message and switching my source files.

My wife has been editing our vacation footage for about a week using FCE 4.01. She editing on a mac mini running Mac OS 10.5 and using an external HD via firewire as the scratch drive. So far she hasn't had any problems with the software, but last night when she opened her project file she got a file missing message and a bunch of the files were listed offline and couldn't be linked to the project. I looked around and read that a bunch of other people were having similar problems, but this seems a little bit different for a few reasons.
First, every time we open the project file the number of missing links is different. Sometimes it's around 70, sometimes around 40 and sometimes around 60 (there are a total of about 245 clips). The other odd thing is that all the files seem to still be in place, but when I tried to reconnect them I got another message saying the attributes of the file didn't match the original (specifically the length of the clips). It seems that FCE has randomly changed (or maybe swapped) some of my source video files so that the file named "clip 50.mov" is actually the footage from "clip 97.mov." Unfortunately with 245 clips, and none of them titled (she was going in chronological order) it's impossible to know exactly what got moved and to where.
Has anyone else seen this issue and if so have you found a way to prevent or recover from it? This (and other similar problems of files mysteriously gone missing) seems like a HUGE software breaking bug. Luckily my wife had already rendered and exported the section she was working on so there wasn't much actual work lost, but now we'll have to reimport all the original files again so she can continue on with the next parts.

I'm not sure. I'm not at home right now and can't check, but I have two of the exact same external drives and I've never had an issue with files missing or being altered on them. I run all of my iTunes music and Photoshop files off of those two drives which is why I assume the issue is with FCE.

  • Making Yaourt and pre-downloaded source files work

I attempted to download the package 'ryzom-client-official' through Yaourt, and every time the main file 'ryzom_client.7z' always fails to download about halfway through. I was able to use 'wget' to download the file from its source (https://sourceforge.net/projects/ryzom/ … _client.7z). Now, I am wondering if it is possible to tell Yaourt to use this file and proceed with the installation as normal rather than it wanting to download it. Is this possible?
    -Ryan McClure

The easiest way to install your package, i think it is to download the tarball from AUR. Unpack it. Place the file you downloaded inside the directory of PKGBUILD. Edit PKGBUILD line
    source=(https://sourceforge.net/projects/ryzom/files/ryzom_client.7z
    to
    source=(ryzom_client.7z
    then run
    makepkg -s
inside the dir where's PKGBUILD. And finally install it with
    pacman -U /path/to/pkg.tar.xz

  • Do iMovie and iPhoto share source files?

I want to pair down the photos and videos that I have stored in iPhoto.
However, I do not want to mess up my iMovie projects.  I hope to eliminate the iPhoto files but keep the iMovie projects.
Can anybody tell me if iPhoto and iMovie use the same photo and video files?  How does the linkage work?
I tried a test and made a IMovie project and then deleted the event in iPhoto and it did not affect my iMovie project.  However, when I am in iMovie and click on a photo or video and say "reveal in finder" it shows me that the photo or video is stored in iPhoto Library!  This makes me nervious about deleting the iPhoto event file.
I am running OS X Mavericks.  I am running iPhoto 9.5 and iMovie 10.0

I don't use iMovie much at all but you can test it this way:
1 - select a movie file in iPhoto that is in iMovie and export it to the Desktop via File ➙ Export ➙ File Export with Kind + Original.
2 - delete the movie from iPhoto and empty both the iPhoto and Dock trash bins.
3 - launch iMovie and see if the movie is still there.
Also ask in the iMovie community as they will have more experience with iMovie it's relation to iPhoto than I.

  • Encoding of java source files

I've sucesfully compiled java source files (*.java files) over a lot of different encodings (ANSI, Unicode, UTF8, etc). My IDE (Eclipse) has Cp1252 as default on WIndows OS.
There is an 'official' encoding for source files ?

Short answer is Unicode -but that's not enough.
    From Java Language Specification:
"Except for comments (3.7), identifiers, and the contents of character and string literals (3.10.4, 3.10.5), all input elements (3.5) in a program are formed only from ASCII characters (or Unicode escapes (3.3) which result in ASCII characters). ASCII (ANSI X3.4) is the American Standard Code for Information Interchange. The first 128 characters of the Unicode character encoding are the ASCII characters."
There's more that applies, I'll not quote it, read chapter 3 of JLS for details.

  • Low resolution - a result of too much compression or is it the source file?

a friend of mine is helping me produce a DVD using DVD Studio Pro 4 and as our source files, we are using 14 video files that were generated using Final Cut Pro.
when the final DVD is produced, we were both disappointed to discover that the screen resolution appears to be quite low - the darks are pixelated and the entire image lacks sharpness. it looks fine on anything up to a large computer screen, but it definitely seems inadequate when viewed on a large flat screen HD television.
the DVD is not HD formatted, by the way.
being quite the amateur on DVD Studio Pro, my question is this: have the original video files been compressed too much and is this the cause of the problem?
the 14 video files that were loaded into DVD Studio Pro, in their original format, take up over 15 GB of space - they are all quicktime files (.mov formatted), generated from FINAL CUT PRO as DVCPRO files in NTSC (those were my export settings) - yet when all of the files are compressed and loaded into DVD Studio Pro, they take up only 1.4 GB.
it would seem that we have at least 3 GB's to spare.
any feedback would be welcomed, and please excuse me for my beginner questions.
additionally, it would be great if anyone could take the time to explain to me where i can change the compression settings / preferences in DVD Studio Pro.
    again, thanks very much.

Ok, do not use DVD SP to compress your video. Use Compressor to create a .m2v file of your video and a .ac3 file of your audio. Tutorials can be found at; http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/fcp_homepageindex.html
With Compressor you will have much more control over the encoding process and you can get better results. That being said, Compressor is good, but there are even better third party MPEG-2 encoders out there. They will give you even better results at lower bitrates.

  • Trouble Encoding out of Premiere CC and Encoder

Hi, having trouble encoding from Adobe Premiere CC and Encoder. The files are .mts from a Canon C100 and when I play back in the timeline in Premiere my sequence looks great. But once I encode (either directly out of Premiere OR with Encoder) there is almost always a couple of spots in the mp4 that have a skip or dropped frame. (encoding H.264 High Bit Rate setting) - any ideas what might be causing this?
[Text formatting corrected.  Please type your posts instead of pasting, which often leaves unwanted code throughout.]

    Hi John,
Using the latest version of Premiere CC on a Mac - OS 10.9.1.
Using Magic Bullet Looks as a plug-in with Premiere but that is it.
The files source is a Canon EOS C100 - .mts files.
That seems to be all the info on that link mentioned, but I could be leaving out some crucial info?

  • AME deleted my source files...

After fixing some problems with a compilation of videos I have I sent the corrected files to Encoder to export them.
After an obnoxious goat sound encouder force quit itself and my original source files are gone, not in the trash not even in .PRV folder and when I open the project up it says my media is offline and can not be located.
The files quite literally evaporated. Unfortuanley these WERE my back up files an now all of my work is gone.
I need to figure out why AME shut itself down and what the hell happened to my files.
    running CC

Were you using Watch folders at all? If not, can you please give us the exact steps you took to queue the files (ie. were you queuing them directly from PPro, dragging and dropping them to AME, importing your sequences directly in AME)
I have yet to run in to a case where AME removes source files from the system. Let's see if we can't get to the bottom of where things went sideways.

  • Xcode not saving source files

    Hi
Has anyone else come across an issue where Xcode doesn't save source files before a build - despite setting the For Unsaved Files preference correctly?
My Java students are using Xcode 3.1.1 to create and build Java Tool projects. We've noticed that we can't modify the default source file for a newly created project, nor can we modify any new source files we add to the project UNLESS we close down and restart Xcode after adding each new file. Specifically, any edits are stored in the file buffers but these are not automatically saved to the hard disc when we trigger a build. However, once Xcode is closed and restarted, all source files in the project behave normally.
Interestingly, the problem doesn't seem to happen with Tool type projects in other languages, however, these projects by default put the source files in the top level of the project folder, whereas all Java projects put the source files one level down in a "src" sub-folder.
Has anyone else noticed these issues with Java projects? Do similar problems occur in other languages if source files are stored in sub-folders? Remember, the problem only exists for newly created files and it's resolved once Xcode is shut down and restarted - unless, of course, we need to add more files.
Anyone got any workarounds which avoid stopping and restarting Xcode?
    Bob
PS: Please don't post comments saying that I should use Eclipse, Netbeans, BlueJ, etc That's not relevant to this discussion.

Thanks briyu. At least you've confirmed that I'm not going mad
As for 3.1.0, that's what the student machines are using and we have the problem there. I wonder why no one else has reported this before? Probably Xcode isn't used very much for Java.
