Cfcontent in IE6 not working coorectly

I am building a secure download page for my company using
cfcontent and cfheader. The file names and paths are stored in a db
and they could be PDFs, XLSs, DOCs, TXT, DOTs or RTF and there may
be other file types down the road. So I leave the cfcontent set
with application unknown.
It works great in IE7, just the way I want it to.
In IE6, the download/save screen comes up, the file type is
known, so when you try to 'save as', it has the file name of the
web page substituted in the Save window. It seems to be totally
ignoring the extension, unlike IE7.
Any ideas?

filepathname = the relative path to the file obtained from
the database.
I've created a cfswitch that changes the cfcontent
application to the different apps, and that does not seem to work
in IE 6. I still get the unknown file type.

Use of RSL's with ie6 not working

Hi All,
It seems my RSL (framework_3.4.0.6955) for the framework.swc and rpc.swc is not working in IE6.
I have configured the RSL's to one root location because 3 flex-apps at different locations of the site needs to use these.
So the RSL's are not within the folder of the swf's.
I used the files from \Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3\sdks\3.4.0.6955\frameworks\rsls\
It works with IE8, Firefox and Chrome. I know, IE6 is a world apart, but can anyone clarify this?
Btw, i compile from Flex Builder. And it does work when I add the framework_3.4.0.6955.swf and ...swz in the folder itselfs. But then I have to add these files in every .swf folder. And then the RSL's are downloaded separately from each different .swf location.

Unfortunately it doesn't work. It has player 10.
I only see the preloader, but then it's stuck, no data is loaded or something else can be seen.

IE6 not working with Spry Master Detail

I cannot get spry to work with IE6. I am most interested in
this master detail issue (code listed below). I am building this
for a internal gov't application, and the only browser they allow
is IE6.
The spry data set loads, all of the questions show on the
left hand side, but clicking on the question does nothing. I had
the same issue with collapsible panels, accordian etc. It works
fine on Firefox
Switching to another browser is not an option.

Actually, I am using data of type HTML.
I am also finding that I have no problem running the script
off of a disk, BUT when I run it off of IIS, there is a problem.
All other scripts seem to work, so not sure it is a mime
type.

Movie not working in ie6 or ie 5.5

I am using the following to embed a player but it seems in

Hi Dhiraj,
When you click on the Log off button, do you see any yellow triangle icon (Something like warning) coming at the bottom left of the browser?
If so then you are experiencing a Javascript error with your browser. If you click on that icon a pop up should come up with the exact error.
If you get the error I mentioned I would recommend you to change the security settings of the browser to meduim or low.
Also if you go to internet properties->Security->Trusted Sites->Sites button,
You can try adding the URL of the Portal that you are using like :http://mysapportal
See if this works.

Basic spry dataset not working in IE7 but will in FF & IE6?

I did no coding on this. I simply selected the xml file and used the spry wizard to set up the table:

Turns out I was having a common problem- our web servers were not set up to send the xml as xml. The mime headers were set to text rather then xml. I work in a large federal site where the hardware is 3 contractors removed from the web team...
This was only a problen in IE 7 as it looks for the header type, while IE6 and FF do not...

Ken Burns slideshow not working in IE6

Works fine in other browsers tested. Error says "expected
identifier, string or number" line 39.

Any ideas why it would not work in IE6? It says that it

Application URL not working properly

We have a custom application hosted on weblogic8.1 cluster. And this is in production environment.
What we observed was, I am using FireFox browser and works fine for me. And I noticed it did not work a few days ago only once. However, most of the other users use IE6.0 and seems not able to access this URL. So some tried using IE 7.0 and worked fine for some time. But, the problem persisted very often as few can and others cannot.
Can anybody tell me what could be the problem or should I be modifying any files in weblogic server.
This is working pretty fine in testing environement.

Make sure the coorect output devices is selected and the Mute button is not checked.

Report navigation not working when accessed through IFrame in mozilla

Hi,
We integrated a OBIEE report in our web application and displaying through IFrame.
We have functionality to navigate and show a report when user clicks on graph.
This is working fine in IE6 but it is not working in Mozilla firefoxv3.x.
And the code snippet looks like below:

SPRY menu bar not working in IE 9

Hey! I recently just finished building my very first website using Dreamweaver CS5.5! It looks really great and works perfectly in firefox and safari however the SPRY menu bar does not work in IE 8 or 9. Does anyone know what i can do to fix this without messing up how the website looks in firefox and safari?

Infopath not working After migrating site to HTTPS

I have infopath installed as client and I publishes it on the server. I dont have infopath on the server and I cannot install there.
Developed infopath form with a dataconnection via webservice "GetUserProfileByName". It was working fine with HTTP
After moving to HTTPS I updated all dataconnections URL to HTTPS and published again.
When I open the form first it gives the following Error "You do not have permissions to access a Web service that provides data required for this form to function correctly."
In our environment we have SSL certificate on ISA server which is F5. Any request comming as HTTP its changes to HTTPS. SSL is not installed on SP Servers (Both nodes). This URL I refered (http://ikarstein.wordpress.com/2011/07/01/869/)
for this issue but as per our network team they told it might not work bcoz our SSL is on F5 not on SP Server.
When I changed the the infopath form settings in Central Admin by unchecking the "<label>Require SSL for HTTP authentication to data sources</label>" the error changed to "An error occurred while trying to connect to a Web service infopath 2010". I followed
this link (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981684) for help but i am not sure how this will work or I am in teh right direction.
I checked the option mentioned in last step and deleted the form library and and published the form gain. Now I am facing the same issue as mentioned in 3rd step.
When I deleted the dataconnection of "GetUserProfileByName" Error removed. But I cannot get user information on the form, which i need as a part of requirement :(

After this SSL import I am having a weird scenario.

The server farm consists of 6 servers, two of which are load balanced front end servers via an F5.
We’re using IE6, IE7, and IE8 officially (I am using IE
The servers do all have Disableloopbackcheck = 1.
When I try to access within server, It works fine everytime although the request go to f5 first. (i.e. Request come via internet)
Any Advice!!!

Webi report part(include Opendoc Link) ondesktop did not work in BI Widgets

My customer followed <BI Widgets User Guide>(XI3.1) to create a webi report part(include Opendoc Link) onto desktop.
Page 26:
To convert Report Part into a Widget ,drag and drop the Report Part from the Web Intelligence Viewer onto the desktop.
As a widget, the Report Part will include the following BI Widgets features:
- Automatic refresh
- User controlled size and positioning
- Saved display and data context state
- Optional setting as the top application window
- Full XI R3 security
- Web Intelligence opendoc links to detailed reports.
But it can not be clicked(hyperlink did not work).
My customer follow the SAP Note 1244968 to create again, it still can not be clicked.
For I can't reproduce this issue, could you tell me what's it probably related to?

1. Login in Webintelligence
2. Create on efashion a Webintelligence report with the
objects:Year,Sales Revenue
3. In the Edit panel add a column to the table and insert the
variable :=If([State]="DC"; HTMLEncode("http://uk.yahoo.com"); "")
4. In the Properties Display/Display/Read cell content as Hyperlink
5. Run the report and save it
6. Open the Webintelligence report with HTML view and click on the
hyperlink you are redirected to the Yahoo website
7. Log in BI Widget
8. Right click on the right inside icon of BI Widget and click on
Document List Explorer
9. Find the Webintelligence report and double click on it
10. Click on the table and drag and drop it to your desktop
11. The BI Widget gets created
12. Click on the column containing the Hyperlink:nothing happens.

There is no functionality of using Hyperlinks in a BI Widget created
from a Webintelligence report

Hi Soniya,
These are the steps:
1. Log in into infoview
2. Change the preferences (Click in the Preference button in the main tool bar), in the WebIntelligence section change the Select a default view format: to Interactive.
3. Click OK
4. Open the report where you want to add the hyperlink
5. Right click in the column or cell to add the hyperlink
6. Click Hypelink > New
7. You will see the Create Hypelink window, click Browse the select which report do you want to link
8. Fill in the parameter, prompts, etc.

Flash buttons not working in IE7 and Chrome

Here's my website where the problem is occuring www.bakercreative.co.uk
As you can see the Flash buttons animate, but when clicked they should go to a new html page.
I've tested it in IE8 and Firefox without any problems but it's not working in IE7 and Chrome.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Could it be the html code or the flash file itself?

Hi, Glad you were able to solve that issue with the buttons and Chrome. Any small thing can cause big problems!! LOL
I'm sure IE7 will test out ok, IE6 did Your website is very nice and has a variety! I hope it all comes together for you.

Portal Rich Text Editor in Firefox 3.5 Not Working

I'm using Oracle Portal Version: 10.1.4.0.0 (Build: 594)
The text item Rich Text editor works fine in IE 6 and has reduced functionality in Firefox 3.0 (scroll doesn't work). I've just updated to Firefox 3.5 and the text editor doesn't work at all now.
The user is presented with a grey box where all the text controls are squashed into the top left hand corner.
The following errors appear in the Error Console :
Error: element.children.tags is not a function

Error: attachEvt is not defined

(I've replaced our server url with http://xyz.example.net)
Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone got any suggestions on what I can do to investigate/fix it?

Update :
There is a patch available to potentially fix the Rich Text Editor issues in Firefox
"The Rich Text Editor Does Not Work Correctly In FireFox" - Metalink Doc ID: 456512.1
or you can replace the RTE completely with a 3rd party editor :
"How to integrate third party RTE (FCKeditor) with Oracle Portal" - Metalink Doc ID: 352796.1
Using FCKEditor may well solve the issues but I only use Firefox for development. Our users use IE6 so I don't want to replace the interface unless I have to.

This is a known issue in both Portal 10.1.4.x and Portal 11.x :
Bug 8708210 (11) NOT ABLE TO RENDER RICH TEXT EDITOR WITH FIREFOX 3.5 BROWSER
This bug is not published on Metalink.
There is no solution yet. Consider to use IE Tab (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419) for editing file items until this bug is solved.

Ajax Script not working in IE (window.XMLHttpRequest)

xmlhttpRequests is not available to webpages using the file: protocol in MSIE browsers.
If possible include with your questions a link to your website or a mashup that shows the issue.
If you are running the webpage from your file system (file: protocol), please advise as such.
f12>Debug tab to debug your webpage scripts and include any error messages from the console with your scripts... (however xmlhttprequests to local resources do not cause errors in the Developer tool console).... you should always test your web applications
