Change a cell/table color

Hi,
Rank beginner here. I am trying DW over FP and struggling.
I have created a table with 3 rows. My first is the header.
On the second I would like to change the color of the row. But in
properties it only allows me to make changes to the fonts.
I am following a video tutorial as I dyslexic and find coding
and so on hard.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to change the color of
just this row?

> But really why is Webdesign so caught up in code?
That's life. If you aren't willing to invest the effort in
learning it,
then DW is not the program for you.

  • How to programmatically change the cell color of an ADF table ?

    Hi all,
    I have an ADF table with some fields on it. Depending on the value of a field named, say, "F1", I would like to change its background color.
    So far I can change the field color with this EL expression inside the InlineStyle table column property:
    font-size:medium; background-color:#{viewScope.myBean.setColor};
    where setColor is a bean function, in where I access the field "F1" via binding, parse its value, and return the right value - so far, so good.
    The bad thing is, the InlineStyle affects that field in all the rows of the table, while I would like to change only the field in the rows, which have that specific value in it.
    So for example having the rows:
    F1
    abc#1 ----> currently selected row
    cde#2
    efg#3
    I want to change the background color to all the F1 fields which have a "1" after the '#' and let the other "F1" row cells background color stay unchanged.
    But as you can imagine, the InlineStyle affect the "F1" background color in all the rows (assuming that the first row of the table is selected).
    So the question: how to access a single cell of a row in an ADF table, and programmatically change its background color ?
    So far I can iterate through the ADF table with:
    BindingContext bindingctx = BindingContext.getCurrent();
    BindingContainer bindings = bindingctx.getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCBindingContainer bindingsImpl = (DCBindingContainer) bindings;
    DCIteratorBinding dciter = bindingsImpl.findIteratorBinding("aTableIterator");//access the iterator by its ID value in the PageDef file
    RowSetIterator rsi = dciter.getRowSetIterator();
    System.out.println("rsi getrowcount = " rsi.getRowCount());+
    Row row = null;
    +if (rsi.getRowCount() > 0) {+
    row = rsi.getCurrentRow();
    System.out.println("row attr = " Arrays.toString(row.getAttributeNames()));+
    System.out.println("class : " row.getAttribute("F1").getClass().toString());+
    +}+
    +while (rsi.hasNext()) {+
    row = rsi.next();
    System.out.println("row attr = " Arrays.toString(row.getAttributeNames()));+
    +}+

    Sergio.

    Hi,
    I mean a specific cell within a row.
    Here are two pictures that show an ADF table with two rows and some fields on it:
    https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=7D3084D8BF755808&id=7D3084D8BF755808!107&sc=documents#cid=7D3084D8BF755808&id=7D3084D8BF755808!107&sc=documents
    bild_A is what I have, bild_B is what I would like. Note that:
    in bild_A the first row contain a yellow background color for the field F4 and an orange background color for the field F5. This is correct, because F4 has an "1" at the end of its string value, and F5 has a "3" at the end. So far so good.
    But the second row (again, bild_A) has also the fields F4 with yellow background color, and the field F5 with orange background color, even if the value in both fields is 0.
    What is should be, is shown in bild_B.
    The problem is that the solution provided affects all the cells of the column, while I need to change the background color of a single cell, and leave the other unchanged (see bild_B).
    I hope that clarify a bit :)
    Sergio.

    Hi!
    How can I change background color cell/table in Sapscript?
    Thanks very much!

    Hi ,
    Normally we use Scripts and smartforms for submitting the output to customers or for tax purpose  and so on,,in such case we wont submit in differnt color other than white and black,so formatting in other colors is not possible in Script and smartforms.
    Please let me know if have any issues on this.

  • Change cell's color in jtable when user clicks on it

    Hi everyone,
    i've got a JTable, and would like to change the background of a cell when user selects it
    so i added a mouselistener over my jtable, the mousereleased method looks like this:
              public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e) {
                   int row = table.rowAtPoint(e.getPoint());
                   int column = table.columnAtPoint(e.getPoint());
                            // help needed
              }as you see, i found the code to get the index of the cell selected, but i don't find any method in JTable class to get the cell component itself, and to alter its background color
    Please notice that the "setSelectionBackground()" in JTable isn't enough, since i would also like to change the color of cells which are not selected when the user select a cell
    how could i do that?
    Thanks in advance!
    edit: i tried the following but it does not work either
              public void mouseReleased(MouseEvent e) {
                   int row = table.rowAtPoint(e.getPoint());
                   int column = table.columnAtPoint(e.getPoint());
                   AbstractTableModel atm = (AbstractTableModel) table.getModel();
                   Component cell = table.getDefaultRenderer(CaseMemoire.class).
                   getTableCellRendererComponent(table, atm.getValueAt(row, column), true, true, row, column);
                   cell.setBackground(Color.MAGENTA);
                   table.updateUI();
              }

    ok i found how to do it
    i directly inserted this in the renderer code:
    if (row == table.getSelectedRow() && column == table.getSelectedColumn())
    cell.setBackground(etc);
    (curiously it does not work with "if (isSelected)")
    thanks :)

  • Rules applied to multiple cells trigger color changes when any of the cells

    "Rules applied to multiple cells trigger color changes when any of the cells meet the rule’s condition." That's what Help says, but when I follow the directions, it doesn't work. This is in Numbers 08.
    I have a table where the contents of one column are either "YES" or "NO", depending on formulas using variables from other cells. If YES, I want the fill of that cell and that of two adjacent cells to change from white to green. I select all three cells and use conditional format rules for "text contains:" YES, then choose my fill color. When I return to the table and introduce values for the variables that trigger the rule, only the cell in the YES/NO column changes to green; the other two remain white.
    While I am spreadsheet challenged, I usually can follow directions as plain as those in Help, but it's not working. I couldn't find anything in the discussions after an hour of searching. Is this a known problem or am I just stupid?

    For what it's worth, that's the way I read that line in the User Guide as well. What it actually appears to mean, though is 'Rules applied to multiple cells apply independently to each of the cells."
    Here's a workaround for your three adjacent columns. Long, but fairly simple steps.
    Add a second table to the sheet (Table 2).
    Resize the second table to one column wide and as many rows as you want to apply the conditional format to.
    Set the width of the column to the same width as the three columns you want to highlight, and the row height(s) to match the rows.
    Format to table to have NO Header or Footer row or column.
    Use the Wrap Inspector to uncheck "Object causes wrap"
    In the first top cell of Table 2, enter an = sign, then Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, Click on the first cell that will hold YES or NO.
    Fill the formula down the rest of Table 2.
    With all cells in Table 2 selected, use the Cell Format inspector to set the 'text contains yes' rule and the conditional fill colour for these cells.
    Test the conditional formating by introducing values into Table 1.
    Click on Table 1 in the sidebar, then use the Table inspector to set Cell Fill to 'none'.
    Click on Table 2 in the sidebar, then drag that table onto table 1 aligning it to cover the cells in which the conditional formating is to appear.
    When positioned (and still selected), go to the Arrange menu and Send Backward to move Table 2 behind the (transparent) cells in Table 1.
    With Table 2 still selected, click on the Cell Borders color well and set the Opacity of the borders to 0%.
    Click the Text inspector and set the Text colour Opacity for Table 2 to 0%.

  • Right way to change datagrid row, column, cells background colors in code-behind?

    Hi all,
    I have a winform program that I'm upgrading to wpf (I'm new to wpf). The wpf code for the function (SetdataGridBackgroundColors()) is below with the winform code commented out so I can fix it.  I have a datagrid with a Cornsilk background color alteranating
    with LightGreen depending on the content of datetime  cell. If the day portion of the datetime is different then the color changes from one to the other. I used a colorIndex variable because at the end of the month it could go from 31 to 1 and that would
    not work if I use the day directly.
    I tried this line to change the background color:
    optionsDataDatagrid.RowBackground = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Cornsilk);
    this works but it changes every row. I found this other stuff:
    DataGridRow currentRowColor = optionsDataDatagrid.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromIndex(i) as DataGridRow;
    //DataGridRow currentRowColor = optionsDataDatagrid.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(optionsDataDatagrid.Items[i]) as DataGridRow;
    currentRowColor.Background = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Cornsilk);
    Either ContainerFromIndex or ContainerFromItem throw an exception because currentRowColor is null. I looked at optionsDataDatagrid.Items[i] and is not null. Then I read that using ItemContainerGenerator is not a good idea.
    BTW I'm calling SetdataGridBackgroundColors() after datagrid is been filled with data.
    So... what is the proper way to set each row, column or cell background color in wpf?
    Thanks
    private void SetdataGridBackgroundColors()
    optionRowData rowData = new optionRowData();
    if (optionsDataDatagrid.Items.Count == 0)
    return;
    int colorIndex = 1;
    DateTime savedDate, currentRowDate;
    rowData = optionsDataDatagrid.Items[0] as optionRowData;
    savedDate = rowData.col_datetime.Date; //only compare the date not the time
    for (int i = 0; i < optionsDataDatagrid.Items.Count; i++)
    //currentRowDate = Convert.ToDateTime(optionsDataDatagrid.Rows[i].Cells[3].Value); //winform code
    //currentRowDate = currentRowDate.Date; //winform code
    rowData = optionsDataDatagrid.Items[i] as optionRowData;
    currentRowDate = rowData.col_datetime.Date;
    if (currentRowDate != savedDate)
    colorIndex++;
    savedDate = currentRowDate;
    if (colorIndex % 2 == 0)
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Rows[i].DefaultCellStyle.BackColor = Color.Cornsilk;
    //------------------- testing new code --------------begin
    optionsDataDatagrid.RowBackground = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Cornsilk); //this changes all rows
    //DataGridRow currentRowColor = optionsDataDatagrid.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromIndex(i) as DataGridRow;
    //DataGridRow currentRowColor = optionsDataDatagrid.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(optionsDataDatagrid.Items[i]) as DataGridRow;
    //currentRowColor.Background = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.Cornsilk);
    //------------------- testing new code --------------end
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Columns[4].DefaultCellStyle.BackColor = Color.DarkSalmon;
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Columns[5].DefaultCellStyle.BackColor = Color.Aquamarine;
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Rows[i].Cells[4].Style.ApplyStyle(optionsDataDataGridView.Columns[4].DefaultCellStyle);
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Rows[i].Cells[5].Style.ApplyStyle(optionsDataDataGridView.Columns[5].DefaultCellStyle);
    else
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Rows[i].DefaultCellStyle.BackColor = Color.LightGreen;
    //------------------- testing new code --------------begin
    optionsDataDatagrid.RowBackground = new SolidColorBrush(Colors.LightGreen); //this has no effect
    //------------------- testing new code --------------end
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Columns[4].DefaultCellStyle.BackColor = Color.Coral;
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Columns[5].DefaultCellStyle.BackColor = Color.LimeGreen;
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Rows[i].Cells[4].Style.ApplyStyle(optionsDataDataGridView.Columns[4].DefaultCellStyle);
    //optionsDataDatagrid.Rows[i].Cells[5].Style.ApplyStyle(optionsDataDataGridView.Columns[5].DefaultCellStyle);

    I (also) strongly recommend mvvm.
    Setting values is a particularly bad idea in this case.
    I don't mean to be rude but your explanation of the requirement is kind of vague.
    I would bind solidcolourbrushes.
    Set the properties based on whatever your logic is within the viewmodel.
    You can switch out what each of the brushes holds when the user clicks wherever.
    So you use a highlightbrush when something or other is true.
    That highlightbrush is set to a blue brush when the user clicks left and a red brush when they click right.

  • Dynamically change the cell editor in the table control

    Hi..
         I have 3 columns in a table . of which in one column we need to change the cell editor dynamically at runtime.
    i.e for example i have  columns as carrid, connid and fldate.
    For the first 2 rows the cell editor for the carrid  clomn shud be a dropdown and from there on in the next rows for the same  carrid column it shud be a input field.
    Can experts plz help me how to achieve this as this is very high priority issue....
    Regards,
    Madhu...

    This is actaully fairly simple to do.  You will need to add a cellVariant to your table column. You can then dataBind a context attribute to the selectedCellVariant property of the column to control which cellVariant will be used. This allows you to control row-by-row which cell editor you want to output.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/bd/5d9041d3c72e7be10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/56/5e9041d3c72e7be10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    Also here is an example that I did the other day that uses Cell Variants within ALV.  This process is actually a little more complicated because you have to go through the ALV APIs.  To do this in a normal table is actually easier because you can create the cellVariant in the layout designer.

  • Dynamic Creation of cells or change of cell behaviour of a table at runtime

    Hello all,
    Can anybody tell me how can we change the cell behaviour of a table at runtime or creating the table row with different cell properties dynamically at runtime in ABAP webdynpro.
    for ex the table at runtime can be like...
    The 1st row the 1st cell can be a check box.
    The 2nd row the 1st cell can be a input field.
    The 3rd row the 1st cell can be a radio selection field.
    Business Ex : Dynamic Attributes in BID Invitation
    Thanks in advance in clarifying the doubt.

    Hi Mani,
    You could use code similar to the following code in your WDDOMODIFY method of the view in which the table is placed.
    data wd_table_cell_editor type ref to cl_Wd_view_element.
      data wd_table_column      type ref to cl_wd_table_column.
    wd_table_cell_editor ?= view->get_element( ID ). (Or any other way to get the refernce to the table cell editor)
    wd_table_column ?= wd_table_cell_editor->get__parent( ).
    (Get a refernce to table column throught table cell editor or directly)
    Now use the set_cell_editor method of wd_table_column to set the column to check box or input or any other field of your requirement.
    Also, I suggest you to use ALV as it is simpler change the cell editor and it provides many other improved functionalities.
    Regards,
    Srini.

    I have following successfully running code, each can populate 1 table cell updating in ChangeTableSelectionMain1 change to another table in ChangeTableSelectionMain1 also, or populate 1 table cell in ChangeTableSelectionSub1 change to another table in ChangeTableSelectionSub1 also, But cannot populate table cell updating in ChangeTableSelectionMain1 to ChangeTableSelectionSub1, Please advice how to make populating table cell updating in ChangeTableSelectionMain1 to ChangeTableSelectionSub1 successful??

  • How do I change the number formatting within a Cell Table in Microsoft Word?

    Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me out on an issue I've been having... I work for an accounting firm and we do a lot of financial statements.
    I was wondering if we would be able to treat a cell table in Microsoft Word 2007 like I would a cell table in Microsoft Excel. Meaning, I would like to change the formatting of the numbers in the table to the "Accounting" (number) format so it
    aligns by the decimal point and use the $ signs and () for negative numbers.  We do use the link tables feature, however, most of our balancing pages just can't be done in Excel because of the way the text is written. It would be much harder to format
    the text if it were to be typed in Excel. We have also tried  creating an Excel sheet within Microsoft Word but it is the same as linking the tables... Again, a text formatting issue.  The only option is to use tables within Word but how do we change
    the number formatting to a "accounting" (number) format where the numbers would align with the decimal point and use () for the negative numbers. Is there ANY option for us to do this other than manually entering this information in using tabs?
    If there are no options other than entering it in manually, please consider this as an option for your next software update. I believe that a LOT of people out there will be interested in this feature... My manager and I just attended a webinar on Microsoft
    Advanced Word Tips Tricks and Techniques and 75% of the attending people had this question but no answer.
    Thank you very much for your help!!!!!

    Word does not really have number formatting for table cells. You can align cell contents on the decimal point, though, by setting a so-called decimal tab stop.
    Option 1:
    - Select the cells for which you want to do this.
    - Display the ruler.
    - Click the Tab box on the left hand side of the ruler until the box contains an inverted T with a dot.
    - Click in the ruler where you want the decimal tab.
    Option 2:
    - Select the cells for which you want to do this.
    - Click the arrow in the lower right corner of the Paragraph group on the Home tab of the ribbon.
    - Click the Tabs... button in the lower left corner of the dialog.
    - Specify a tab position in the box, e.g. 1.5".
    - Select the 'Decimal' radio button under 'Alignment'.
    - Click Set.
    - Click OK.
    You will have to type the numbers as they should appear, including the $ for currency and the ( ) for negative numbers.

  • How to change a selected cell background color in JTable?

    Hi all,
    I am trying to change the background color of a selected cell by clicking on that particular cell. DefaultTableCellRenderer class provides setBackground(Color c) to change the background color of unselected cells. Is there a way to change a selected cell background color?
    Thank you,
    Arthur

    Write your own renderer (eg. extending DefaultTableRenderer) and put in getTableCellRendererComponent method something like this:
    if( isSelected && hasFocus )
        setBackground( Color.RED );
        setForeground( Color.GREEN );
    }

  • Can a link only change one cell in a table?

    I've been learning Dreamweaver from a textbook, but I'm still pretty new to it, and I'm not sure what terminology to use here.  I want my site to have a link that just changes one cell in a table when you click the link, rather than having it go to a whole new page.  For example, you click a link and a picture changes but the rest of the site stays the same.  So far, I've been doing this by just making several duplicates of an html file, and then just changing that one cell in each copy.  It works, more or less, but then whenever I want to make a change to my page, I have to make the same change in all the copies.  There's got to be a better way, right?
    If this is too complicated to explain in a forum, perhaps someone could just tell me if there's a term for what I'm trying to do, and then I can just look for it in my book or search for it online.
    Thanks for your help.  Oh, and the version I'm using is CS5.

    What you are asking for is called a 'disjoint rollover', which means 'something happens over here, and the effect is seen over there'. It's simple to do even manually. Take a look at this page -
    http://www.murraytestsite.com/locrian.html
    The code on the page is this -
    <!doctype html>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p><a href="#" onclick="document.getElementById('image').src='_img/masthead-logo1.jpg'">link</a></p>
    <table width="347" border="1">
      <tr>
        <td>  </td>
        <td>  </td>
        <td>  </td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td>  </td>
        <td>  <img src="_img/masthead-logo.jpg" width="347" height="120" alt="" id="image"/></td>
        <td>  </td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td>  </td>
        <td>  </td>
        <td>  </td>
      </tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>
    I used a table because you specifically asked about tables, but I wouldn't recommend using them for anything other than tabular data, and certainly not for general layout. The code could be re-written like this to completely eliminate the table -
    <!doctype html>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <title>Untitled Document</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <p><a href="#" onclick="document.getElementById('image').src='_img/masthead-logo1.jpg'">link</a></p>
    <div><p><img src="_img/masthead-logo.jpg" width="347" height="120" alt="" id="image"/></p></div>
    </body>
    </html>
    Better, huh?

  • Change JTable's row color on row selection

    Hello!
    Everywhere I've looked they're only explaining how to draw rows in different colors WHEN THE TABLE IS BEING CREATED, via prepareRenderer.
    But that is not what I am looking for. What I want is to actually change the row's color after the table has been drawn/rendered/whatsoever. For instance, when the user clicks on that row. The default behaviour is for the row to become blueish, but, when the user selects another row, the first selected row turns back to white. I would like to prevent that from happening. I want the row to become FIRE RED when the user clicks on it, and I want the row to remain like that for good, even when the user selects a different row. Do I make any sense here? :-)
    Thank you for your time and future suggestions.

    Everywhere I've lookedApparently you didn't look in the Swing forum, because thats where Swing related questions should be posted.
    but how do I assign a cell renderer to an entire row/table ?The easiest way is to use the prepareRenderer(...) method you have already found. My "TablePrepareRenderer" class (which you can find by searching the Swing forum) shows you how to do this.
    You will note that the color of the row is determined by data in the table. So all you need to do is add another column in the TableModel that contains the information you need to determine the row color. That column can be removed from view in the table by removing the TableColumn from the TableColumnModel.
