Change Case in Column header when designing reports in BIDS

Hi
I have used a key short-cut to change the case of headers when adding them to the header of a Tablix, but I can't remember the key combination,
Any help much appretiated

Hi Andy,
If I understand correctly, you want to know the shortcut key combination to switch the case of words in column headers of a tablix in Reporting Services Report Designer. As far as I know, there is no such key combination. In Microsoft Word/Outlook/PowerPoint,
we can use the Shift + F3 to change case of words. However, this doesn’t work in SSRS Report Designer.
To change the case of the words in column headers, you can either copy the text to Word and perform the case change there or use built-in functions such as LCase, Ucase, or StrConv to perform the case change by using expression. Here are the examples for
the three functions:
Expression: =LCase(“Sales territory country”)                           Result: sales territory country
Expression: =UCase(“Sales territory country”)                           Result: SALES TERRITORY COUNTRY
Expression: =StrConv(“Sales territory country”, vbProperCase)   Result: Sales Territory Country

i.e. I have about 10 columns in table control, out that need to change 5 columns header text. These header texts are stored in an internal table.

What you will need to do is this.....
1. First replace the column Header Text box by I/O Fields and name them accordingly.
Say for example we will consider the same example which i had explained in the link.
there in the column header we want the header to change when some dates and entered into two fields which are out of table control say
Start Date: 01.01.2010 to End Date: 06.01.2010
Now we want the header to look like this,
Column No.    -        1               2             3                  4               5               6
Header label   -    01/FRI       02/SAT     03/SUN       04/MON     05/TUE      06/WED
Header name -    SPOTS1   SPOTS2    SPOTS3      SPOTS4     SPOTS5    SPOTS6
then you go as per the instructions in the link......

Only one column header in delimited report ?

Hi!
Is there a way to put only one line of column header on delimited report?
(By default the Report builder puts the header in every record line...
as well the delimited_hdr = no command prompt property is not good, because puts out no header)

DELIMITED_HDR command line keyword
DELIMITED_HDR is used to remove boilerplate text (such as the report header) when running a report with DESFORMAT=DELIMITED or DESFORMAT=DELIMITEDDATA.
This parameter exists in Reports 6i too .

Hi Experts,
In OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0,how to expand the hierarchy column automatically when delivery reports by agent?
For example:
In SampleLite RPD, when we drag "Time Hierarchy" and Sales column into the report , and sent it by agent ,it will only display "Total" sales, not show all level value,such as Year,Month,Day.So how to expand the hierarchy column automatically when delivery reports by agent?
If we expand all levels and save them, it will be ok, however, when we add new data, it will be collpased automatically and not show the lowest level data, requiring Users or Developer to modify this report for expanding the hierarchy. We think it is very trouble, is there any good suggestion or method for achieving our requirement?

Change Column Heading in ALV Report

I have developed a ALV Report, showing correct output.
Problem is that Column Heading is not showing correct...means it is showing as per field name. But We want to change as per our understand. i.e. One column heading is like Unrestricted Stock but we want Unrestricted Stock...(BILF is an indicator)..
We have write in the code..
FORM build_fieldcat10.
CLEAR fieldcat_ln.
ADD 1 TO col_pos.
fieldcat_ln-ref_tabname = 'MARD'.
fieldcat_ln-fieldname   = 'LABST'.
fieldcat_ln-seltext_m   = 'BILF Unrest.Stock'.
fieldcat_ln-key         = space.
fieldcat_ln-do_sum      = space.
fieldcat_ln-col_pos     = col_pos.
fieldcat_ln-no_out      = space.
fieldcat_ln-qfieldname = space.
fieldcat_ln-hotspot     = space.
APPEND fieldcat_ln TO fieldcat.

But after change the selection text...not showing correct text..How can i change Column heading???

Wrap report column header when using heading type : Column Names

The headers for my report is actual data from the database. In order to get it to work I'm using aliases on my columns that correspond to the header name that I want. However, I have been unable to get the headers to wrap. I have tried using <br> and chr(10) but it seems to be stripping them out since it's a column alias. Any ideas? Region source is listed below...r1.fc_desc is the column header that I need to have wrapped.

I've resorted to creating a separate function to return a colon-separated list of column names, in which you can include a br tag or whatever, until I get a chance to research this more thoroughly.
I thought it would just be a case of asking APEX not to strip the HTML, but it's clearly not as simple as that.

by making use of specific report column templates and column template conditions you can change the headers dynamically.

Can I "catch" a click on a sortable column header of a report?

Hi,
I have a report.
Most columns are made sortable: users can click on them to sort.
I notice that when clicked only page-rendering executes (i.e. not page processing).
Here is the question.
I need to call some custom PL/SQL when the user clicks on a sortable column header. This PL/SQL could executes in the before header (it needs to fire before the page re-executes the query).
The PL/SQL needs to know which column was clicked on: how can I determine this?
Can I access the url (example below)? I see that it shows which column was clicked.

That would order the report by C1 when I click C2, which isn't what I want. I want to preserve the order of C1 (whether that's ascending or descending) and then have C2 ascend or descend for each set of values in C1.
If I can't set the Order By then I'll need something like this as my query. The "last_col1_order" and "this_col2_order" would be items, set according to the last few values of Request. It's horrible, but it gets the job done. This would be so easy in forms!

Dynamic Column Heading on Interactive Report

I have my column headings for my table columns stored in the database. I want the Interactive Report to use these heading (instead of static headings). Is there a way to have the columns set from the database(with a function/procedure)?

you can replace the column headings with &PAGE_ITEM.
obviously one page item per column header
then use the database to populate the items with your column headings.

Chris is correct for this issue, when calling update using ListItem.update method, it will increase item versions, using SystemUpdate and UpdateOverwriteVersion will update the list item overwrite version.
these two methods are not available in CSOM/REST, only server object model is available for this.

Repeat or merge column header when 2 headers in webform

Dear experts,
the example below shows a few lines from a webform script.
As you can see the first 2 lines create 2 headers: 1 for account and 1 for custom1 dimension.
This automatically generates 2 column headers in the webform, which is as expected.
C1=A#Gw_Tech.C1#OPE
C2=A#ImpGw.C1#OPE
C3=SCalc(Col(1)+Col(2)),NumDecimals:0,CustomHeader:Net
However, the 3rd line shows a manual calculated header called Net.
Question: can I merge the 2 column headers in the 3rd column so that it does not show me 1 "net" header and 1 empty header?

I'm trying to export as Excel data only and have 2 page header band. It only display the 2nd band with the bottom label. None of the 1st band shows up.
Page Header a contains:Report TitleDate Range
Page Header b contains:Dept Name4 columns

New column header on Interactive Report

We have an interactive report on a view and when we add a new column to the view, we would need the report to add the header automatically too (without previous deployment). Can this be done in simple manner?

Hi,
I have tested the behavior of the different reports in Apex.
This is the conclusions:
Created a new column in a test table and running directly the Apex application with the table mapped in three reports:
1- Interactive Report:
- No errors in the report when you open it but the new column is not showed.
2- Classical Report with default options:
- Errors showed when you open it (ora-01403 No data found)
3- Classical Report with the option checked "Use Generic Columns Names":
- It shows automatically the new column in the report.
But still I do not have a solution to solve the problem.

Remove Header when running report with ALV output

Hi,
We are running ITS Version 6200.1022.63326.3, Build 84960 connecting to R/3 Enterprise 4.7 on 6.40 Kernel Patch 196.
I have a situation where I run a report through ITS, starting with a selection screen, I can remove the header part of the ITS generated screen by commenting out:

in my template. This works great.
Now when I run the report and the output is given in the form of an ALV grid, there is no screen to manipulate as it uses the webgui generated html due to me having set parameter:
GENERATEDYNPRO = 1.
When I receive the report output, the SAP header with "Quit" and "Help" is back, due to it being driven by the standard webgui generated templates.
I have searched on SDN and found some guidelines but no answers are answered and then the thread goes dead so I just wanted to know if someone has ever successfully removed this header.
I have set noheaderokcode = 1 in the service file, in webgui.srvc as well as in global.srvc.
I have also started editing the templatelibrary files but to me it is not a very clean solution.
If someone out there has had this challenge and solved it, please advise.
