Change configuration information in one vi

Is it possible to read and change the data in a configuration file using only one vi? The only way I could think of requires 3 vis. One to read the information, the second to accept the information as inputs, allow the user to edit the information and save it back to the configuration file, the thrid to house the first two vis. I tried using the prompt user vi but couldn't get the default values to be the information from my configuration file. I did see a post describing this but it seemed more complacated than what I'm doing. Any suggestions?

If you wanted, you could simply move the read and write functions into a single top level VI.

Properly Using Configuration Information/Files

I've read through the previous posts on the forum and have scoured the internet looking for information, but I still don't feel that I know how to properly use configuration information for my program.
Basically, this program is a large scale application that requires a ton of configuration information (as opposed to just specifying constants). The reason I am doing this is because the scientists we are working for want to be able to adjust almost any parameter at any time. Right now, I am using a standard .ini file (which is getting unwieldy). There are 7 main segments for my program (Output HW, Input HW, Network Comms, Calcs, etc.) that need to have configuration information stored. Currently there are 178 different "sections" with up to 7 "keys" per section.
I have thought about...
1. Using a single configuration file. This is getting unwieldy, and being able to change any parameter at any time can lead to a ton of old config files (each old file is time/date stamped and saved so that all old config's can be available). Creating a parser for this is a bear.
2. Using multiple configuration files. Seems better, but this leads to 7 config files and 7 config file parsers to maintain.
3. Go with an XML format config file. I'm not too familiar with this, but it seems more scalable than .ini.
4. Using an Excel file with columns and rows that are parsed for config information. Doesn't seem to be the way to go... (as there are many different sections and each section has different types of keys)
I am just confused now on the way to approach this problem. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

This statement is a little confusing to me. I certainly hope you aren't creating a brand new config file everytime a control is changed on the front panel.
Seems I didn't explain myself well. Every time any one of the configuration options changes, we have to create a new file and move the old file (with time/date stamp) to an "Old Config Files" folder. That way, in case they need to do any post-processing of the data, they can use the configuration settings that occurred when the specific time-stamped data file was recorded.
The reason why there is so many is because we have a ton of channels to record data from (including network and calculations) which brings us to about 178 different configuration options to be addressed, each option with several keys of its own.

However, I realised that there are inconveniences such as not being able to Facetime each other. In addition, his iTunes account is UK-based and we'd like to also have a New Zealand iTunes account for various reasons.

I have a lot of speaker notes that I need to apply a specific voice to. How do I apply the same voice to all of the speaker notes in the whole project at once? Or at least more than one? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! I am working with Captivate 6.

Hi Vikram,
Thanks. That tip definitely helps! You just have to be careful when you use the CNTRL button and not highlight the name of the slide as you try to highlight the voices. If you do that, then the drop down box becomes “unclickable”. Unfortunately, when using the control button, it is sometimes impossible not to highlight the name of the slide as well.

Gosh, this is full of great information and I need something a little bit deeper - and because I'm not a techy - can I explain...Apple ID changed a year ago from a work email to a personal email. No longer have access to original email..... New email and Apple ID worked flawlessly until today - every 3 seconds Sign in to iCloud pops up.. with the old work email. I enter the password - which is the same... and it says invalid.
I tried to delete the icloud, but you need the password and it says "find my phone" is on... i turn it off, and it's the old email... and the password again doesn't work, of course.
I am left stratching my head... I sync my phone and my correct, up to date email is in the Apple ID sections...

Yes. I have tried that. When I use the ID I had before, it sets it up as a new account and I don't want to lose my stats attached to my old account.
Let's say that my old nickname was "user10" and I used the email, "[email protected]" for my apple id. I changed my apple id to "[email protected]" and it changed my game center account to "mynew" and somehow I am friends with my old acct, "user10". I tried getting a password reset for "user10" but I apparently don't know my own birthday, which is possible because I usually give a false one, but the same false one each time.

Change duration of multiple clips "as one" overall clip?

Here's my situation:
I have a song at 127 BPM. I have a music video (muted sound) at 125 BPM.
I've spent a long time slicing up clips from the video into different channels and muliple clips to form one timeline (but with many clips and channels lined up).
I now want to change the overall duration of the video clip to match the BPM of the song (which I should have done in the first place), but the video is, as previously stated, sliced up in mulitple clips in multiple channels. How can I change the duration of all clips at one time, where the end and start of the clips still line up to eachother?
This would've been incredibly easy if there were a un-nesting feature. Where I can nest multiple clips, change the duration, and un-nest the clips to slices clips with a changed overall duration. (Which is not possible. Yes, I can drag the clips out of the nested clip, but the clips will still have the original duration).
TL;DR: How can I change duration of multiple clips "as one" overall clip?

Never mind. I've found a alternate solution. I used a time stretch calculator at http://mp3.deepsound.net/eng/samples_calculs.php and time stretched all the clips to match the BPM of the song. Now I only need to snap all the clips, which can be done one by one, but I found this trick to snap all the clips at once: http://vimeo.com/27428526.

Are you using FCPX? It doesn't have a canvas. Do you really mean one frame, like 1/30th of a second? Add a custom generator underneath the logo. Make it whatever color you want. Make it however short you want.

I don't know which old version you're referring to but iPhoto 6's, 7's and 8's retouch tool works exactly the same as iPhoto 9's. The color of the enhance tool's area while applying is a light brown color but the retouch works on any color using the surrounding colors as a basis.

You need to install the software on the new machine the same way you installed it on the old machine. You are allowed to have two activated installations if you would like to retain the original installation as a backup. If not, then you should deactivate it (Help -> Deactivate in any program),
