Change DateTime format property to DateTime

Hi,
I have a DateTime field in  contenttype.
Field was set to DateOnly Format but user wants it to be as DateTime field. As it is already in live I have written a Feature upgrade reciever to update all the existing field. After Solution and feature upgrade its working fine for the new items but not
to the existing files. I tried by updating the list field directly but the changes does not replicate in Edit/Display forms of an items.
I have checked through Sharepoint Manager and the format DateTime.
How can i change the DateOnly format to DateTime in existing list.
Thanks

Hi Mohammed,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to change the Date only field to Date Time in existing fields in SharePoint.
I recommend to edit the date column in the browser directly.
Please go to the List settings in the list where the content type is used and then click the date field under Columns. After that you can edit the date field to Date and Time format and all the existing fields will be updated with 12:00 AM value with the
date value.
Best regards.
Thanks

  • Changing Calendar Format

    Hello,
    Everybody.
    I am beginner to HTMLDB.
In my project I want to change the format of calendar like as follows,
    Date 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Day Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat
    Column x y z a b c d
    Please help me.
    Thanks,
    Sumanth.

It works for me on Windows 7.
DateTime widget is based on Windows' Calendar control, I guess.
Japanese Imperial Calendar is supported from Java6 but it is not related to SWT.
    >Locale localeImperialJapanese = new Locale("ja", "JP", "JP");
    >Locale.setDefault(localeImperialJapanese);
This has no sense for the DateTime widget.

  • Change server_access_log format

    Hi,
I'd like to change the format of the server_access_log to show the milliseconds of the date.
I read the documentation and found the %datetime%, but it doesn't show what I want:
    http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-2554/6n4r8s7s7?a=view
We use SJAS Enterprise Edition 8.1_02.
    Any Ideas? Thanks,

It is a bug(see 6352797) fixed in Patch 07. You should get your appserver patched with one of the following, depending on platform/installation:
    Packaged based:119166-14, 119167-14, 119168-14
    File based:
    EE: 119169-06, 119170-06, 119171-06
    PE: 119173-06, 119174-06, 119175-06, 119176-06

  • Change Date Format in Calendar prompt

    Hi All,
I am on 11.1.1.5 and the calendar prompt on selection of date/typing of date defaults to MM/dd/yyyy but, the requirement is to make it to default to MM/dd/yy. I have made 3 changes to the localedefinitions.xml file (dateSeparator, dateShortFormat, dateOrder) and they look like below
<property name="dateSeparator">/</property> // separator to use between fields in short date formats
<property name="dateShortFormat">MM/dd/yy</property> // default short date format for locale
<property name="dateOrder">mdy</property> // preferred order of date fields for input
But I still dont see a change in the format of the Calendar prompt. Do I need to change something else too?

I checked under the My Account the locale is set to English and I have the following in the file but still when I select in the prompt the date format is MM/dd/yyyy instead of MM/dd/yy
    <localeDefinition name="en"> <!-- english base -->

  • 3D Plot Properties Axis Format Property update bug

Tested in LV 2011, Windows XP.
If you try to change an axis format property (say Digits of Precision) and switch to another axis using the pull-down list box, the property is not updated, even though it is also not applied to the new axis.
In other words: the default precision is 2 and I want to change it to 1 for the X and Y axes.
I select the X axis, change the Digits value to 1. This applies it to axis 1. Good.
I now select the Y axis: the Digits value does NOT change (it stays 1) but the Y axis precision does NOT change either (it stays 2). Not good.
You have to actually edit the Digits field an press enter to update the value ON THE GRAPH.
There might be some similar bugs in other properties.

    Hi X.!
Thanks for posting your find. I would love to take a look at this behavior. There are multiple 3D graph property dialogs depending on your implementation. I've looked at three examples and they each have a slightly different menu options under format properties. Can you point to or post an example that duplicates the behavior?

  • How to change the format of a date field inheriting format from subclass.

Currenctlty date filed is inheriting the format from a property class. The date format in my property class is 'dd/mm/rrrr'.
Now my requirement is to change the format mask according to my applications user from 'dd/mm/rrrr/ to 'dd/mon/rrrr'.
Some may use 'dd/mm/rrrr' and some may use 'dd/mon/yyyy'.
    Thanks.

Some may use 'dd/mm/rrrr' and some may use 'dd/mon/yyyy'.
I want a generic solution to change the date format at runtime These two seem to conflict. How will you decide which one to change and which not?

  • Can not change the field property - 10gR2 reports crashing on Linux :(

All I want to do, is to change one field's property from NUMBER to DATE in the property palette. It does not allow me to do it (not east like forms). I can not change the field property - 10gR2 reports keep crashing on Linux :(
I don't know if this is a Linux specific iDS issue, or a generic one.
What are the proper steps to change one field (in my query, the field name is ptime, it was defined as a number field originally, and now I need to change it to DATE and apply the proper format mask). The matching database field definition was modified from number to date.
    very frustrating...
    Any input is appreciated.

nop, did not change anything in the select statement at all. Just selected the related query under the data model (in the navigator), then selected the related query from within the property panel, connected to the db, then from the related navigor menu selected compile all, when the related query was highlighted (selected). Then I saved it, checked the groups, and bingo - the datatype was changed from number to date. Then I went to the related object under the page layout and applied the format mask (that was another funny story). And it worked. It is not as flexible as the forms for sure - pain in the a.. And I still don't know why Reports Builder keeps crashing on Linux - have no problems with Forms Developer on Linux at all. It is a certified RH platform with all the required libs, rpms, etc installed. I am certain it is not an installation issue. Maybe I should check Metalink and apply if an iDS 10gR2 patch exists for reports.

  • How to change the format of an in build date

How to change the inbuild date datatype format?

    Hi Renuka,
    Follow these steps:
    1. Create a context attribute named date1
    2. create a simple type (local Dictionary-->simpletype) named date1 of type date.
    3. If you want your date format to be same always and doesn't require to change dynamically then go to representation tab for your simple type (date1) and set its format to dd/MM/yyyy(eg.)
    4. For your context date1 set it type property to your simple type(using browse button ...)
    5. Bind this context to a input field in your view
If you want to change the format of your date at runtime then you need to write this code in the method where you would like to change its format.
    IWDAttributeInfo attr = wdContext.getNodeInfo().getAttribute("date1");
    ISimpleTypeModifiable simple = attr.getModifiableSimpleType();
    simple.setFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");

  • How to change the format of the cell in input schedules

    Hi gurus
I tried to change the format of the cel in input schedulesl, but I can not, for example
when I insert 80 in the cell, and i send the data the system switches to -80 and the report shows (80) y when i insert -80, the system switches the number to 80
I want it when you insert 80, the system keeps 80 and do not change
Anyone know how to do that?
    thanks
    regards

    Hi,
The other experts have guided you with the steps to change the property. However, you need to understand why is the design like this and what impact can it have on your system.
Usually, the accounts defined belong to the PnL or BL statements. There definitely can be some other accounts as well. The PnL and BS accounts can be either income (INC), expense (EXP), asset (AST) or liability and equity (LEQ). Changing the account type of these type of accounts can heavily impact your financial statements. So, you should carefully think over this before changing the property.
    Hope this helps.

  • OAF changes Date Format

    Hi
I need to store a date into a flexfield. We have enabled the Flexfield and there is NO value set attached to it.
This attribute is already in the VO as a varchar, so we have just added a new column into the page as data type Date and link it to the flexfield column.
In this page we have a table layout so the user can enter 10 rows before saving them. And this page it just used to punch data into a table, which means, once the user press apply the page saves and clears. The user can not query on that page.
When entering the first row, we can open the Date picker and we can choose the date and then it populates the column as “DD-MON-YYYY”.
    The problem is:
When we entering the second row after entering one column the pages changes the format of my date from the previous record to “YYYY-MM-DD”, then after entering any second column the pages clear the date from the previous row.
Running the page from JDev it shows the following message before clears the flexfield:
    java.text.ParseException: 2011-01-28
Note we have not extended the VO and not extended the controller.
    My questions are:
    1) Why the Self-Service is change the date format to YYYY-MM-DD even if the profile ICX: Date Format Mask (31-DEC-1999) and my preference is set to DD-MON-YYYY?
    2) How can I avoid this to happen? Is there any way to keep my date as DD-MON-YYYY?
    Thanks,

  • How to use the FORMAT property of an account dimension

    Hi Experts,
I tried my best but I just can't find any information about the format property of an account dimension. I know that it is a reserved one and I have seen something such as #,##0. In detail I want inc member to look like 1.000.000 and exp member  like -4.000.0000.
This is probably a stupid question.
    Thanx in advance,
    Cora

    Hi Cora-
These are Excel custom formats..please review the following link for detailed information:
    [Custom Number Formats in Excel|http://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/CustomFormats.htm]
For your specific example:  ###,###,### for INC and  -###,###,### EXP should be sufficient.

  • How to change the format of a cell in a web report

    Hello experts,
Is it possible to implement this in a Web Report/BEx query?
We have a list of products grouped into Company A and Company B. One key figure is for example Net Cost Price.
We need to highlight the lowest net cost price in every company but with a different colour depending on the company assuming prices are sorted in ascending order.
We have been recommended to use Web Design Api for Tables but we understand that in order to format a cell content we need to know the axis position of the cell but we don't know how many rows the query will display for every company. Is this kind of requirements only possible with "static" reports where we know exactly the number of rows and columns that are going to be displayed?
    This is an example.
    COMPANY      PRODUCTS    NET COST PRICE
    Company A    Product 1    <b>5€</b>
                 Product 2    10€
    Company B    Product 1    <b>10€</b>
                 Product 2    20€
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Inma

    Hi Inma,
If you have already not solved your problem , you can try the following solution with table interface class.
Table interface class generates HTML table row by row so it first process the charecterstics and then KFs .
You define a  attribute(type public) in class and set that attribute to X (In CHARECTERSTIC menthod)when ever the company code changes.
Then make use of that flag in DATA method to change the format of cell (Assuming you sorted by Ascending).
    hope this helps.

  • How can i change the Format of my DATE column?

I need to change the date format for a whole column. At present i can do MM-DD-YYYY. I need to change this this to DD-MMM-YYYY.
I know about the to_date function, i tried to apply it to change the format of my whole column by doing the following.....
    CREATE TABLE "IT220_DATEHOLIDAY"
    "DEPARTID" VarChar(2)NOT NULL ENABLE,
    "HOLCODE" VARCHAR2(2)NOT NULL ENABLE,
    "DEPARDATE" DATE,
    to_date('DATE','DD-MMM-YYYY'), <<<change DATE column to DD-MMM-YYYY
CONSTRAINT "DATEHOLIDAY_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("DEPARTID") ENABLE
ORA-00902: invalid datatype <<<<This was the error message i received.
I am aware that the to_date function is supposed to be used to change strings into a certain format. I guess this means you cant do it with columns? Is there anyway i can format the whole column or do i have to do each string of data entered one by one?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Jay,
I'm not sure you hit the right forum, as this doesn't seem to be a problem with APEX.
    Anyway:
You can't use that function on a table like that, and as you already suggested, the to_date-function expects a string value.
It seems you also have a misunderstanding of the basic datatypes in the database. DATE is such a datatype and is stored an internal format you don't need to care about. Each time your request the value, the database will give you a string representation according to either your locale or you give a certain formatting mask.
The same applies to insert or update operations: you hand in either a variable of type DATE or use a function like to_date to create an "object" of type date.
