Hi i was asking myself if it is possible to change the default directory in command prompt using labview?
if somebody know something about that i'll appreciate some help

What operating system?
If Windows, and the path contains any spaces, enclose the path within double quotes. eg.
c:\> cd "C:\Program Files\Java\1.4.0"

Look for JCurses, I think it might be able to do that. Otherwise, there is nothing in Java that lets you do it. The coloring of the console is platform specific.

I have weblogic 5.1, but the sentence probably is equal. Try this:
1- Open your command prompt
2- Go to weblogic directory (ex.: c:\weblogic)
3- Run setEnv (this put the weblogic classpath in your dos session)
4- Run the sentence:
java weblogic.deploy -port portNumber -host hostIP deploy <password> <ejbName> <jarName>

Disable "Close" button of command prompt through LabVIEW using Win32 APIs

Hello all,
I am trying to disable the close button of a third party console application that I am invoking through LabVIEW. I tried using GetSystemMenu() and DeleteSystemMenu() from user32.dll, but somewhere I am doing it wrong.
Can anyone can suggest a solution to this?

Do you have the handle to Window? Off hand, I don't know how to delete it, but here is some C# code that I used to grey out the close window button in another project:

I have a problem to configurate the PGFP5 programmer with Labview, I want send Hex File to PGFP5 with serial port by using the command lod with Labview, I receive this message response from the PGFP5:

I think that the command Visa Write From File don't terminate execution.

How to print pdf file in SQL Server Reporting services report using command prompt?

Is there a way to automatically print a SQL Server Reporting services report on command prompt? For eg: We can save a pdf file using rs.exe utility. I want to print a pdf using rs.exe utility. Is it possible? I don't want to install any 3rd party software.

In oracle form, there is oracle command to print the report from command prompt with the help of rwrun.exe
e.g: rwrun.exe REPORT="D:\Test\REP_25\MLA.REP" DESNAME="testprinter" DESTYPE="PRINTER" P_FORMNAME="MLA.FMX" P_SPRACHE="E" P_SPRACHE_NR2="1" P_WHERE_BEDINGUNG="order by land_nr" USERID="test/test.world" PSV_NAME="PSV_DEMO" PSV_JOB_ID="PS$9583" RECURSIVE_LOAD="NO"

and to save the report we just need to change DESNAME="c:\temp\OC_100001349.pdf" DESTYPE="FILE" in above command instead of DESNAME="testprinter" DESTYPE="PRINTER".
DESNAME and DESTYPE are the input parameters of the respective report.
In SSRS, we can run the file from the command prompt and save it.

But we cannot use same command for printing as you said we need to create another script for printing files.
I have gone through the links but I dont want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader exe for printing because client it may not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on their machine.
Also I want to pass a input parameter as type="Printer" to my report which will print directly for me and same I can acheive in command prompt passing type="Printer" fileName="C:\Users\pujarswa\Desktop\TipsReportLoad.pdf"

I was wondering how can I pass a value to the command prompt with Windows and Linux? I'm more interested in Linux's system than Windows though. Is there a way to return info from the command prompt?

Runtime.getRuntime().exec("myprog.exe") will spawn an external process that runs in parallel with the Java execution. In Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP, you must use an explicit *.exe or *.com extension on the parameter. It is also best to fully qualify those names so that the system executable search path is irrelevant, and so you don't pick up some stray program off the path with the same name.
To run a *.BAT, *.CMD, *.html *.BTM or URL you must invoke the command processor with these as a parameter. These extensions are not first class executables in Windows. They are input data for the command processor. You must also invoke the command processor when you want to use the < > | piping options, Here's how, presuming you are not interested in looking at the output:
Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("command.com /E:1900 /C MyBat.bat" );
Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("cmd.exe /E:1900 /C MyCmd.cmd" );

There are also overloaded forms of exec(),
Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("command.com /E:1900 /C MyBat.bat", null);
Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("command.com /E:1900 /C MyBat.bat", null, "C:\\SomeDirectory");
The second argument can be a String [], and can be used to set environment variables. In the second case, "C:\\SomeDirectory" specifies a directory for the process to start in. If, for instance, your process saves files to disk, then this form allows you to specify which directory they will be saved in.
Windows and NT will let you feed a URL string to the command processor and it will find a browser, launch the browser, and render the page, e.g.
Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("command.com http://mindprod.com/projects.html" );
Another lower level approach that does not require extension associations to be quite as well set up is:
Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec ("rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler http://mindprod.com/projects.html" );
Note that a URL is not the same thing as a file name. You can point your browser at a local file with something like this: file://localhost/E:/mindprod/jgloss.html or file:///E|/mindprod/jgloss.html.
Composing just the right platform-specific command to launch browser and feed it a URL to display can be frustrating. You can use the BrowserLauncher package to do that for you.
Note that
rundll32.exe url.dll,FileProtocolHandler file:///E|/mindprod/jgloss.html
won't work on the command line because | is reserved as the piping operator, though it will work as an exec parameter passed directly to the rundll32.exe executable.
With explicit extensions and appropriately set up associations in Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP you can often bypass the command processor and invoke the file directly, even *.bat.
Similarly, for Unix/Linux you must spawn the program that can process the script, e.g. bash. However, you can run scripts directly with exec if you do two things:
Start the script with #!bash or whatever the interpreter's name is.
Mark the script file itself with the executable attribute.
Alternatively start the script interpreter, e.g.
Runtime.getRuntime( ).exec (new String[]{"/bin/sh", "-c", "echo $SHELL"}";

Setting the command prompt...

Can anyone tell me what I would use to set the command prompt?
On HP-UX, I would reset the PS1 variable...
i.e. PS1="
\$ID @ \$HOST | \$PWD
--> "
On Linux, I would reset it as follows:
i.e. PS1="
\u @ \h | \W
--> "
Neither of these seems to work here...
I tried the following, and it give me the correct visual layout, but the values don't change when you change directories:
i.e. PS1="
`whoami` @ `uname -n` | `pwd`
--> "

Bourne and Korn Shells
For the Bourne or Korn shells, you redefine your command prompt with the PS1 command. The

The first example sets the prompt to a colon (:), followed by a space.
The second example creates a prompt consisting of your machine name followed by a colon and a
space.
The third example sets the prompt to your machine name, followed by your login name in braces
{}, a colon, and a space.
Type any of the examples above to change your current command prompt. The prompt will remain until
you change it again, or logout.
If you want to make your changes more permanent, add one of the above examples (or a prompt of your
own creation) to your .profile file. If you do this, the prompt you specify will appear each time you
login in or start a new shell.
C Shell
For the C shell, you personalize your command prompt with the set prompt command. The following
are three examples:
set prompt="% "
set prompt="`hostname`\!: "
set prompt="`hostname`{`id`}}: "
The first example sets the prompt to the percent sign, followed by a space.
The second example creates a prompt consisting of your machine name followed by the history

Redirecting output to J2EE server command prompt

I am finding difficulty with reading the system.out.println() given in the server side code. J2SDK redirects it to System.out file, but most of the time, I am not
getting the results. I tried to restart the server to get the value from buffer.
But thats not working either. Is there any way for getting the output in the server prompt itself. Can I do any configuration changes for this.

Start the J2EE server from the command prompt with "-verbose" option.

MacBook G4 SUDOERS File at Command Prompt - Can't Exit

So someone gifted me with an old MacBook G4 - and now stuck in Command Prompt.
I just tried to create a new admin - just to clean things up. I'm a complete newbie though and got stuck in Sudoers command prompt with --INSERT-- at the end and it's not letting me exit. Help??

There is no such thing as a MacBook G4. If it says iBook G4 on the screen, that is the name of the computer itself. And that's not to be confused with the name iBook given to the iOS and Mavericks software for reading Apple published electronic books. Apple when they changed to the Intel chip renamed their consumer machines MacBook. Now the line between MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air is more blurred as the 13" MacBook Pro has many of the features more expected of a consumer machine than a Pro machine.
iBook G4's with a minimum of 867 Mhz can handle Mac OS X 10.5 retail. Otherwise they need Mac OS X 10.4.6 retail or earlier. If they didn't have the original discs, you won't be able to run the old Mac OS 9 from 2001 on them.

Thank you for your comment, but I was able to find the problem (didn't solve it yet): In the FM command line interface, calling a HEX file located in a folder with brackets in its name, such as "C:\hello_World(V1)\LabVIEW.hex" will not be recognized by the FM.exe, whereas "C:\hello_World_V1\LabVIEW.hex" will work just fine. In the Flash Magic GUI and Command Line Manual section on hex files there is no mention of that, my solution at the moment is to remove the brackets from folder names.
