How to make firefox automatically edit certain html code on certain web pages
Like on webpages I can right click inspect element and it will allow me to delete things off the page.
I want this to happen automatically for certain webpages when containing certain html code

I tend to write custom scripts for this sort of thing, but for a couple of more general purpose removers, you could investigate these:
* "Remove it Permanently" can be trained to remove items from a page every time you visit. I believe it works by right-clicking what you want to remove. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/remove-it-permanently/
* A review on that page recommended Element Hiding Helper, which is a companion add-on for Adblock Plus. If you already use Adblock Plus, this is probably a more efficient combination. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/elemhidehelper/

I would start afresh. I would also use Dreamweaver's template system to make thing a lot easier. Have a look at the following, copy and paste into a new document and view in your favourite browser.

I was loading a website, it then stated as below, it wasnt any of the problems stated below.

RH Automatically Changing HTML Code for Links

For some reason, RH is doing something to the links I create. In my stylesheet, I have the following code for links:

When I create a link, the HTML code looks like this *at first*:

But then, after I save the file and switch to HTML view, the code looks like this:
<a href=" Development_Plan.htm" style="color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline; ">Transcript</a>
I am not doing anything other than saving the file, and that apparently causes RH to automatically add the style (color and text-decoration). Why is RH adding that? It's causing my links not to change color when you hover over them.
How can I make RH stop doing that, so my links display as defined in the stylesheet?

This is strange behaviour. How exactly do you create a hyperlink? I have seen this behaviour only with links that are empty or contain a single space.
As a workaround, in your css, add the !important declaration to your hover styles:
a:hover
Although this isn't an elegant solution, it will overwrite the inline styling of the link and thus change colour on hover.

Preview in browser change html code

Hi!
Often when I sketch web sites in Fireworks I preview the page
as an image in my browsers, just to get a feeling of the page in
its real environement, so to speak. Often my web sites are aligned
to the center but Fireworks just put the image to the left and
don´t remove the standard body margins.
Is there a way for me to change the html code used in the
preview in browser command?

why not make a standard page (in dw) with zero margins and
padding, and
single div centred with one image and then place the native
fireworks
png in there, save and preview that page from DW and then
when you work
on your fw image just save it and press refresh in your
browser window.
when you do a new project simply swap the new fw png for the
old fw png ;)

Using "View Selector" in the List View Web Part, changes the web part page to the view selected's page.

I am relatively new to Web Parts pages. I created a page with list view web part and a Infopath Form Web Part, which are connect via the "Get Form From" option. My users would like to be able to use views dependent on what
they are looking for. So I created different views. However, when I select the view from within the Web Part, it changes the web part page to the list view page. I must be doing something wrong. How do I configure the list view to show
the selected view and results within the existing "list view web part"?

Sorry, but this has not been answered to my liking. The "List View Web Part" has the ability for the user to select the view from within the web part, so there you should be able to select a different view and have it appear within the same web part.
Does anyone know how to complete this task?

Changing HTML Code

I would like to change the html code in which the applet is embedded from within the applet.
The idea is: the applet holds a connection to the server.
whenever the server gets an update, it should send it
to the client browser an alternate the appropriate html
part.
Is this possible. If not, is there another technology that can do this?

Is there a t-code that allows you to view the AUC Settlement Log?

One of my counterparts in a different region would like to review the AUC Settlements for the prvious month. Is there a t-code that allows one to view the AUC Settlement Log or is there a special procedure required to view those results?

Changing document start-up page to "last view" when document is reloaded

My computer is equipped with Windows XP, Adobe Acrobat Standard 7.0, and WinEdt 5.5. When I convert latex to pdf (using WinEdt) the pdf always comes up with the top of the first page. Only when I choose the old view (or last view - I have a German version) with "go to" I see were I was before. On an older computer, however, acrobat immediately redirects me to the part of the document viewed before. Question is how to change the settings so that I can change back and forth between pdf and Latex without always starting from page 1 in the pdf (i.e. how can I have the old view as the basic setting??).

i am using adobe acrobat 9.3.1. i checked Restore last view settings when reopening document, but choose PDF Texify from winedt, the document still open on page 1. several years ago, some older version, the document always open at the page and zoom of previous view without me setting anything.

I am exhausted from deleting specific HTML code to make the content work. Plus there seems to be an issue with the margins moving around. Can someone help me with this HTLM code nightmare? Other than deleting it all and inputting the text again? This is the only topic in my project in which this has occurred.

          Its not possible to talk about a solution until you know the issue which caused it. the question is the HTML cannot get reorganize in RoboHelp if it is not edited exclusively - by this I mean if you bring in all the content through RoboHelp UI then RoboHelp will not change HTML by itself, until you manually change the html code.
you should try to find out the cause of the seizure (by which I think you mean hang), It could be that you are using any version control and it failed to checkout/checkin one or more project files, It might be that .cpd file got corrupted in that case you can try deleting the .cpd file after closing the project and it will get recreated by RoboHelp on next Open project, or it is possible that some of your shared resources might be missing/moved because of which RoboHelp hangs then in such case you should replace/remove these resources.
You should not be working on the project over network (i.e. the Project should be on the local drive).
Are you using CBTs and UDVs or your topics are too large (and thus processing of these topics seizes RoboHelp)
by any means deleting random HTML code of any topic might actually make the HTML invalid and cause more crashes or hangs.
I have listed down almost all the reason..
one way is to remove topics and find out the culprit topics which causes the hang and if you find one you can share it with me at [email protected] and I might find the cause of RH hang by inspecting that

Scrubber Thumbnails for HTML Articles - How Do You Get them to Actually Appear?!?!?

My apologies if I asked this last month, but it's really driving me nuts.
The cover of our magazine is an HTML article, and it appears as a blank screen in both the TOC and BROWSE modes. The former is easy to fix by simply creating a thumb image and inserting it via Indesign or the Folio Producer. It's the browse mode that is the conundrum. I've followed the following instructions provided by ADOBE and updated my HTML article but to no avail.
Creating scrubber thumbnails for HTML articles
For InDesign articles, the viewer automatically generates the thumbnails that appear when you drag the scrubber. However, generating thumbnails for HTML articles takes more time, sometimes resulting in poorly rendered thumbnails. To improve thumbnail performance in HTML articles, you can manually add image files to the HTML article folders.
Create png files that are named "scrubberthumbnail_h.png" and "scrubberthumbnail_v.png" (you can also use _l and _p suffixes). Add these files to the HTML article folder. There is no size restriction for these images, but note that they are scaled down proportionally to a height of 166 pixels. As a point of reference, when thumbnails are generated, landscape thumbnails are 221x166 pixels, and portrait thumbnails are 125x166 pixels.
What am I doing wrong? My folio is portrait (vertical)-only and I put my .png filed named "scrubberthumbnail_v.png" in the parent directory (same level as the "cover_v.html" file targetted) of the HTML article. Should it be put somehwere else in the article folder?
I'm hoping there is a simply solution.

Thanks guys, but that doesn't address my problem. It's an HTML article, not a web content overlay.
Yes, I know I could redo the cover within InDesign using a web content overlay spanning the entire 'page' and use a MSO as pointed out, but the cover starts off empty and then items begin to appear (ie) image and then the magazine title followed by the article titles. The latter which are linked (navto:) to their respective article. The problem is that navto links do NOT work in web content overlays, which is why I resorted to creating an HTML article. But alas, the scrubber thumbnail problem...
The instructions above do not work for me, unless I've done something wrong such as placing the thumb image in the wrong location within my HTML folder, which in this case is a published EDGE ANIMATE project.
And yes I could still go the MSO/InDesign web content overlay route and insert invisible frames over my link text as delayed MSOs, but that seems unecessary since I should be able to create the scrubber thumbnail for an HTML article as explained above.
Any advice regarding the creation of the scrubber thumbnail? Or does it simply not function as intended at this time? I'm using InDesign CS5.5 using v.26 tools.

Receive HTML code in message, how to convert?

Usually I can read all my mail (text or HTML), yet one correspondent sent me a message
containing HTML code. here it is:

I used a conversion program by Mail Chimp and, indeed, the lines converted
into a table with three columns and four lines.
Can I make Thunderbird to do the conversion before displaying the message?

Thanks Zenos, I still have the complete message. I had saved it in one of the mail folders. Again, I was surprised, the HTML code was properly converted in the saved version: the table was shown wiith all borders, the values with currency symbols etc.
I then forwarded the saved version of the message to myself. In the inbox
the message showed up with an incomplete conversion: no borders of the table, the columns not lined up .
Then I saved the message again from the inbox to the mail folder. This time it has been saved as is, i.e. no borders and misalignment.
The original message contains no private information except my e-mail address, the other identifiers are all public address elements of our health club.
If it would help to identify what may be wrong with theThunderbird Inbox processing, that it ignores HTML code and if you would be so kind as to pusue the issue, I will send you the saved version of the message.

Changing default code in HTML "Create New" page for CS3

When I open dreamweaver and go to File>New>blank Page>HTML, the code that displays when the page is opened isn't what I want. For instance, I'd like to change the XHTML DOCTYPE to 1.0 strict (from transitional).
Is there a way I can get in to the backend of this program and change that code so I don't have to do it manually every time I open a blank html page in DW? Or can I make my own, and then make that my default html page code?

When you Choose FILE>New, you will see a Preferences button at the bottom of the interface. Click on that and you can choose how to diplay the 'new page' whenever you open up a new document.
