after long time I come back to E_BUSINESS (11.5.10). I need you remind me please. When I modify my context_mybase.XML file , I should:
1-Stop Oracle DB and Oracle Applications.
2-run Adautoconfig.
3-start DB and Oracle applications.
Is it that ?

Changing the custom XML for a flash chart dynamically

I am wondering if anyone has found a way to change the custom XML
for a flash chart dynamically.
For instance.
On the www.anychart.com website their is a gallery with charts.
I have studied one called "2Dlinetimechart. It has hours on the X-axis.
When I view the XML for this chart.
I found this enrty
- <block color="0x0080C0" border_color="0x0080C0" name="Sales dept.">
<set value="0" argument="0" name="00:00" />
<set value="1" argument="0" name="01:00" />
It uses the tag value to set the position on the X-axis. But the tag name to set the labels on the X-axis.
I have not found a way to do this in application express 3.0.
Therefore I wonder if I can change to XML dynamically, and build my own block based on the input I have.
Or even build a chart, based on a xml that I create first then sends to the object that renders the chart.

After Making Changes In Log4j.xml Application Needs Recompilation?

I am using log4j in my jsp pages and for that I instantiating Logger class like this
Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("test.jsp");
{code}
And I have log4j.xml in the classpath.
I believe, priority levels can be changed and log level can be changed without re-compiling.
Change the log4j.xml and re-run jsp pages.
However I need to re-compile after making changes in log4j.xml file. Without re-compilation changes are not getting reflected.
Why I need to re-compile application in order to see the changes I have made in log4j.xml?
Appreciate any help in this regard.

Changes in the xml file AFTER submitting to store

hi,
I recently added a Podcast for BMWGroup.com to the iTunes store, which hasn't been released yet.
What I want to know is, whether changes in the xml file, that i made AFTER submitting it will be taken over when the feeds are going to be released.
For example a different categorie or image..
and if not? how can i change categorie or image later? does it update from the xml?
does anyone know?

The simple answer is yes. Any changes you make to your RSS feed file (xml file) will eventually be updated by ITMS. Usually ITMS updates feed changes within 24 hours. However, the most recent changes I made in my feed files took almost 8 days before ITMS refreshed my listing.
One issue is clear. If you make changes to your image file, there is a high probability that when ITMS updates your database record, your listing in ITMS will show the broken link image for awhile. I've changed my image file twice, and each time, my ITMS listing showed the broken link image. Eventually the new image shows up, but it does take a long time for this day and age.

Making changes in web.xml dynamically

I have a requirement in which i need to redirect request to com site if it is from desktop browser and to WAP site if request for wap site or from a mobile device
Have servlet ready doing it but presently taking only to two harcoded URLS of .com and .mobile sites.in web.xml.
Now i want dynamic changes in web.xml through a servlet to changes those URLs to respective request.

The web.xml file is only a data storage file. When a Java Web Server starts up, it read the web.xml file and creates the appropriate objects that live in the JVM and manage parts of the applications hosted by the server. Any changes to the web.xml data file while the server is running are lost once the server is turned off. You need to figure out another design, possibly having the servlet read a database table to get URL strings.

Changing an existing XML-File

Hello everybody,
is there any way to change an existing xml file (adding an xml element, for example), without copy the hole file?
I've found kxml2 which can parse the xml files or build new xml files, but it doesn't support changing...

Pradeep thank you for your response. it was helpful. However, I also found the responses to both my questions.
i. The null pointer exception was due to using a complex query I was using in the LOV query. I tried a simple query and that worked fine.
ii. For modifying the user defined attributes one can consult the following forum post:

As far as I understand our question you need to export data from the table into XML file.
I dont think you have direct operator within OWB (at least for ver. 9.2.0.4). But anyway, you could write PLSQL procedure using DBMS_XMLQUERY to perform XML generation and transform it with your stylesheet.
Unfortunately, this package uses DOM to work with XML, so could have a serious memory consumption while trying to export large tables this way.

Color Picker no longer working since 2.4 (changes to galery.xml?)

I'm using a web galery and since the update to 2.4 (and 2.5) the colour pickers do not longer work in the module.
I can't get a hold of the developer (for the last 3 montsh) so need to fix this issue myself.
Does anybody know if there were changes in the webmodule or the the way the galery.xml files are interpreted.
The colourpickers in develop module still works.
When clicking on a colour in the web module, nothing at all happens.

I'm not aware of any changes that went into the web module for 2.5. Also, it's working fine on the Mac platform. Are you using Windows? Have you tried trashing the preference file?

Here is my issue:
I have this XML:

ItemID and itemCode are bounded to my dd list and the left is bounded to the rest of the columns in my table (below).
I`d like to find a way to auto change, for example the unit price, of an item selected from the list.
I have to mention that this xml is returned by a database and data can change so i can`t write javascript static code to match itemId with their Unitprice and description.
Any ideas ??

Wrong path changes in Itunes XML file

hi there,
My Itunes library (9.0.2) is stored locally on my macbook, although actual files are on a network attached storage that I access through AFP. This share is mounted automatically when the mac starts. Everything was working perfectly fine until a few days ago (no major change to the library or mac), when my iphone synchonization started to report impossible to read on the device files.
After a few more investigations, I pinpointed some of the missing files, which were not missing but were replaced by other files (absolutely not linked to my media files).
the <key>Location</key> in the xml file was, for example
<key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Volumes/David/docs/Me%CC%81dias/src/elodie2.jpg</string>
where it should have been something like
<key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/Volumes/David/media/music/albums/Damien%20Rice/9/09%20-%20Accid ental%20Babies.mp3</string>
Does anyone have a clue about what went wrong and how to circumvent this in the future ?

How to change the incoming xml to a different namespace

I have a xml file coming into XI (file ->XI)without namespace. I would like to change the root elment with ns tag add the namespace values with it.
ie.,
Coming in as
<Vendor>
</Vendor>
I would like to change it to
<ns:Vendor xmlns:ns="urn:group01:legacy">
</ns:Vendor>

I did create all interface objects and mapping objects by adding "urn:" on the software component namespace table.
In that I did import external definition with no name space schema and did create message interface out of it.
Then in urn:group01:legacy namespace i did create message mapping between no namespace to with namespace and test it works great.
In the message interface it did allow me add the new source with no namespace and the target with interface with namespace. The source and target interface I add to on top of the exisiting vendor:group01:legacy to target CREMAS:CREMAS03. But I couldn't select to add the second mapping. The message mapping allows only one.

I thought I can do the first mapping to add the namespace and have the output to feed it as input for the second mapping.
I know I can always use the configuration directory to output and make it as two jobs, but all I need is to add the namespace to the file root element.

How to change the HTML/XML test data to test my_abap_proxy in SE80?

I am trying to test my_abap_proxy in SE80 by usng a HTML/XML file of my desk top, the test data is as below
<LoadingDate>20110422</LoadingDate>
<DocumentDate>20110422</DocumentDate>
<SDDocumentCategory>G</SDDocumentCategory>
so on.......
Now, i want to change the Loading date in this test data, so, i tried after Loading file in Test Service Provider screen of my_abap_proxy of SE80, but i could not make change ANY data in this test data, pls. let me know how to change the data?

Hello ABAP_SAP_ABAP ,
Youneed to select the option "generate template data " and then on the displaying template there you will see the option for editing in the top left corner toolbar.
Then after editing you can do a XMl syntax check and test your proxy.

Eclipse BPEl Designer -Changes to bpel.xml not saved

Is it possible to save changes made to bpel.xml file while using Eclipse? I was trying to set up preference properties in that file.
Any say?

According to our experience, JDEV BPEL Designer encoutered the same problem, you'd better modify the bpel.xml descriptor using external editor such as ultraedit, and save it.
Modification of bpel.xml works fine for the first time, but often rolled back to the former edition once I restart the JDEV designer. Guess it is a bug.
