After Making Changes In Log4j.xml Application Needs Recompilation?

Hello,
I am using log4j in my jsp pages and for that I instantiating Logger class like this
Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("test.jsp");
{code}
And I have log4j.xml in the classpath.
I believe, priority levels can be changed and log level can be changed without re-compiling.
Change the log4j.xml and re-run jsp pages.
However I need to re-compile after making changes in log4j.xml file. Without re-compilation changes are not getting reflected.
Why I need to re-compile application in order to see the changes I have made in log4j.xml?
Appreciate any help in this regard.

You could try duplicating the Domain.sites2 file and launch this in iWeb. Delete the last page you edited and try saving. If that doesn't work, undo and try deleting another and so on...
If you can find the problem page you would only have to rebuild it rather than the whole site.
The other possibility is to create a new site on the same domain file and drag each page in turn down to it from the top site and try to save each time.

Script Error after making changes

First, I am not a website designer. I own a website and have
been making minor (text) changes using Contribute since I didn't
need to know html. I started a couple of years ago just using the
trial and never had any problems with it, but about a month ago
bought it...CS3.
After sitting down and making some changes, I published and

I've looked at the source code, found line 17, but have no
idea what I'm supposed to do. I think this is an easy fix, right?

went back yesterday, all the changes were gone?!? How is that

Making changes in web.xml dynamically

Hi all,
I have a requirement in which i need to redirect request to com site if it is from desktop browser and to WAP site if request for wap site or from a mobile device
Have servlet ready doing it but presently taking only to two harcoded URLS of .com and .mobile sites.in web.xml.
Now i want dynamic changes in web.xml through a servlet to changes those URLs to respective request.

The web.xml file is only a data storage file. When a Java Web Server starts up, it read the web.xml file and creates the appropriate objects that live in the JVM and manage parts of the applications hosted by the server. Any changes to the web.xml data file while the server is running are lost once the server is turned off. You need to figure out another design, possibly having the servlet read a database table to get URL strings.

In Message determination for PO, you have an output type (eg.,NEU) for printing the changed PO.
This has to be created(if not maintained) and maintained in "Fine tuned message control" in SPRO and it should be ticked in the last column.
Try this and it should work.

SWF works originally but won't work after making changes, then saving

I have two small flash elements that are embedded into a website, and upon first exporting the swf and putting into the html in Dreamweaver, worked like a charm. After making edits to the Flash file, then exporting the swf a second time - no changes on the publish settings - upon deleting the old, then putting the new swf object into dreamweaver, they won't work. This has happened with both the flash piece on the home page, and on the "what we do page". Below are links to what's currently up, but I've made edits since those that I can't post!!
I'm completely baffled. I've even done "save as" to overwrite the original file, then replace in Dreamweaver, but nope....

I'm having the same problem in Business Objects 4 BI Launch Pad with reports that were created in CR 2011.
The viewer could not process an event. Error in File Buyer Status:
Encapsulating page failed. []
Error code:0 [CRWEB00000119]
The interesting thing is that I have a test platform where all my reports work correctly. However, all these reports fail with the error message on my production platform.
On the production platform, I can run these reports from CMC without any errors. I suspect that something about my Single Sign-On to database configuration is not correct.
So far, I have been unable to detect any significant differences between the working test platform and the failing production platform.

WebRFC - clearing cache after making changes in SAP

I'm finding that as I make changes to my Functional Modules in SAP, and then try to test them from Personas, I can not pick up the new version until I log right out of NWBC and the log back in again .... there has to be a faster way .... right?

No, you don't need to clear the cache. You only have to reconfigure your domain through the psadmin menu.

Firefox will not respond after restarting my computer after making changes in the cookies and history settings

I make some changes with cookies and cleared my history for today...and then restarted my computer...now firefox will not open...will not respond...should I uninstall firefox and then reinstall it?
If I uninstall firefox will the changes I made with the cookies and my history be reversed?
If I were to uninstall and then reinstall firefox will I loose my bookmarks if I do this? or does firefox remember them...so when I reinstall the previous bookmarks are reinstalled too?

How to save a PDF in Acrobat XI after making changes without changing the document name

Whenever I work in Adobe Acrobat XI, I am forced to 'save as' when trying to save the changes I have just made. I am unable to save the document under the same name I have been working on it under (the way you can do in every other program). This happens every time I create form fields, merge or extract pages, add text, etc. This is extremely annoying because then I have to go into my documents, delete the old version, and then rename the document I was working on. HELP! I work in Acrobat every day creating and editing documents and there HAS to be a better way!

CTRL+F brings up the search bar within the document. When I go to File --> Save (or CTRL+S) I receive an error message that states "The document could not be saved. The file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Pelase save the document with a different name or in a different folder". How to validate data in editable ALV report after making changes

My requirement is to display data in ALV format with quantity field is editable. Once we get the data in display mode only quantity field is enabled right. I am going to make changes to that quantity field and updating that modifed value to the database table. Before updating databse table i want to validate the data for perticluar field which I edidted(Quantity).
Can you guide me on this.
Currently I am using FM: GET_GLOBALS_FROM_SLVC_FULLSCR and calling the method CHECK_CHANGED_DATA.
I want to validate the quantity data.
If I entered negative value like -100 instead of 100. It should validate and show some popup screen or message.
Pls guide me on this or give some code to do that.

How can I regain control of .bash_profile after making changes to $PATH?

Today, I installed Android ADB on my MBP (late 2013) and used the following guide to get it started: http://www.droidviews.com/a-comprehensive-guide-to-adb-android-debug-bridge-and- commands/ - that guide said I should make a change to ~/bash_profile in order to get the settings right. Here's what I did (copied from the link):
Open terminal window and type following: nano ~/.bash_profile
This shall open the .bash_profile file. Now enter the following line to define ADB path. export PATH=${PATH}:~/android-sdk-macosx/tools export PATH=${PATH}:~/android-sdk-macosx/platform-tools
Then, I saved and closed the terminal window.
Now, I cannot use a lot of terminal commands anymore - sudo, latex, rm, all only give me:
-bash: latex: command not found
If I try to access ~/.bash_profile, I get the following error:
-bash: /Users/richard/.bash_profile: Permission denied
I tried this:
RMBP:~ richard$ echo $PATH
{PATH}:/Users/richard/android-sdk-macosx/platform-tools
which only shows me that I have changed the path.
Is there any way I can regain access to the .bash_profile file and control over the Terminal in general?

I solved the problem, it seems, by doing the following:
I found the defective .bash_profile file by using Omni Disk Sweeper, and deleted it right away. Someone else here in the support forum had a similar problem and solved it this way, so that's how I got the idea. The Terminal works nicely now and no other signs of trouble have come up yet.

Cannot save two home pages on FF 24 after making changes as instructed, reseting FF and enabling cookies as it instructs. How can I do this? I can do it in IE

I have had remote control of my computer with specialists at Silicon Valley and they cannot change the necessary settings and have them saved either. Have talked to numerous people at Xfinity (I am changing from AT&T to Comcast). Xfinity cannot help either. They said to email Firefox.
I can save my home page as well as another one for emails in IE for Yahoo but not Xfinity. Xfinity has tab come up that says "enable cookies." I have done everything to get the two home pages to open upon startup of FF in Xfinity but cannot do it.
Is there any help?

Did you try to set the home pages via Firefox/Tools > Options > General?
If you only open both pages in tabs then you can click the "Use Current Pages "button.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
