Change in default convert rate in NI-DAQ 7.4?

The documentation for DAQmxGetAIConvRate says:
For hardware-timed acquisitions, NI-DAQmx chooses the default convert rate to allow for the maximum settling time between conversions. Typically, this rate is the sampling rate for the task multiplied by the number of channels in the task
In other words, for N channels the default convert rate is N*sample rate.
In NI-DAQ 7.3 I observed exactly that. For a multi-channel scan, the channel conversions were spread out as far as possible between successive samples.
In NI-DAQ 7.4, I see the default rate is some very high rate (71428.6 samples per second on my PCI-6229). Has the default convert rate changed in 7.4? This rate isn't the maximum for the board (which is 250k samples/s).
I am writing in C++ on Win XP.

Thanks, Sean. That does help.
Seems like the sort of change that should be in release notes or something. I couldn't find anything, but it wouldn't be the first time I missed some information
And the quote from the documentation in my original post is from the NI-DAQmx 7.4 help file. It needs to be updated with this information.

  • T-Code for changing the default Exchange Rate reference for creating PO?

    Dear All,
Can somebody kindly give me the T-Code for changing the default
Exchange Rate reference for creating PO? Is there a Step by Step
procedure before changing the default exchange rate?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi
There is not such Tcode to change the default exchange rate from the PO.
If you want you can confugure the exchange rate in the following path in the IMG,
SPRO>MM>LIV>Incoming Invoice>Configure How Exchange Rate Differences Are Treated
    Hope it helps you.

  • Default Exchange Rate Type

    Dear All,
If we do not assign any exchange rate type to any document type or customer / vendor master data, the system picks the default 'M' exchange rate type. Can anyone let me know where this default setting has been made and whether this setting can be changed? What if I do not maintain exchange rates for 'M' instead I do it for 'M1'
I have a scenario, wherein I want to make exchange rate type other than 'M' as default and we do not want to make it at the document type level or customer / vendor master data level.
To make things more clear, this is not related to the realignment / foreign currency valuation. This is related to recording of invoice export / import or credit / debit notes..
Can anyone let me know how would this be possible?
    Full points guaranted

    Hi Swapvik,
The exchange rate type always is set "M" as default. The only way to
change the exchange rate type is with the customizing in the document type. If you are running the automatic payment program, you can also select a different exchange rate type. However, for normal document postings (trans. FB01), there is no other solution but to choose a different document type.
    For example:
If you want to use exchange rate type B instead of M, in customizing you have to give Alt Ex.Type as B against M. So that it will take B rate whenever M is applicable. If you want this B rate to be applicable for specific document types then you can do  the same at document type definition itself. Otherwise you can do the same At Payment program level/ Revaluation. These are the only places where exch.type comes into picture.
Please be advised that you can not change the default exchange rate type
for the 1st local currency. The default type for 1st local currency KURST of M cannot be changed. SAP does not allow for customers to setup a company code with an exchenage rate type other than M for the 1st local currency (because this could lead to exchange rate differences in the system which are not allowed).
Exchange rates are defined in SAP at a Global level via transaction OB08. In the IMG documentation for transaction OB08 (path General Settings > Currencies > Enter exchange rates) it explains that:
'The exchange rates apply to all company codes'
'The system uses the type M exchange rates for foreign currency
translation when posting and clearing documents. An entry must exist in
the system for this exchange rate type. The exchange rates apply to ALL
    Company Codes.'
    Hope this information helps.

Thanks. That will also be nice in that I won't have to re-do all of my saved screensets every time.
Is there an easy way to open templates? I ask because Logic requires them to be saved to the "Project Template" folder, whereas I have all of my music stuff saved on an external firewire drive. Also, templates don't appear to show up under the "open recent" menu so I'm wondering if I'm going to have to go into that folder every time I need to use that template.

For sideloaded content the nook pulls the metadata from ePub file itself.  I would suggest looking at a program like Sigil or Calibre that will let you edit the metadata in the book to make it appear like you want.
For the PDF vs ePub - No, that's the way PDFs work (think of them as graphics, not text), wheres ePubs are Web Pages - so  no you can't them to behave exactly alike without converting the files.

  • How can i change a default ....

How can i change the default xml parser used by oracle??
can i use xerces ??? or something different
i am using Oracle 9....03 version
and transformation i am doing is using transform function of xmltype.
The things which work using some xml parsers seems are not working with oracle default parser
    transformations.
Can anyone pls tell how to chnage the xml parser ????

Yes i want the transform function of xmltype to use some different parser to transform the document.
Because the application which was working with different parser stops working when i moved my xml to oracle database to use xmldb functionality
i can find small small problems with the oracle xml parser.... like entities cannot be defined in xsl, cannot use format-number, converting less than angle bracket to & lt ; even if i specifying to disable output escaping.. beacuse of which it started giving me lots of problems.
These all were working with the other xml parsers...
i am stuck don't know what to do now ??

  • Default Exchange rate type at document type level for parallel currencies

    Hi,
I have a scenario wherein 2 parallel currencies have been maintained (Grp & index based) against a Co Code and have maintained a default exchange type (Z2) in the Document type settings (OBA7).
But when I want to post a foreign currency document, system picks Z2 rates for Co Code currency conversion and not for Grp & index based. In fact it picks M rate for these addtional currencies.
I know that for parallel currencies, the system will always use the exchange rate type defined in transaction OB22 ( "M" rate) which is at Co Code level but I want default exchange rate type Z2 to be picked at Document Type level for all the parallel currencies.
Please suggest how to archive this.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Dear Sam,
The exchange rate type defined in the FI document type (-> field
exchange rate type in transaction OBA7) is only used for the currency
translation from transaction/document currency into first local
currency, not for the currency translation into second local (group)
currency or for the currency translation into third local currency.
The exchange rate types for the currency translation into second
local (group) currency and third local currency are defined in
    transaction OB22.
Unfortunately there is no option to change the exchange rate of 2nd or
3rd local currency in our posting transactions. The design doesn't
regard that requirement. But you have the chance to adjust the parallel
currencies in OB22 or to change the amounts manually.
    I hope this helps.

  • Changing the default setting for forms in Acrobat 9

When I go into forms in Acrobat 9 and use a Word doc to convert to a form the default boxes created initially are text.  IS there a way to change the default so the initial boxes created by the program are checkboxes?

No, you have no direct control over how the Form Wizard behaves. There are things you can do with the design of the source document that can influence how automatic field recognition works. For example:

  • Why does Soundbooth change Premiere Pro sample rate?

I asked this question in the Soundbooth section and nobody had an answer, so please pardon the cross-post. (The Google machine didn't help, either.)  When I take a sound track in PPro CS5 and run the  Edit in Soundbooth command, how do I prevent Soundbooth CS5 from changing my 44.1k audio to 48k? It does it 100% of the time. I changed the SB preferences to default to 44.1, but it made no difference.
As a result, the Edit and Replace feature is half useless. I can extract the audio, but can't simply save and switch back to PPro, like the marketing literature would have me believe. I have to save as a separate file, choose the 44.1 rate, then manually remove the original audio and insert the file I just saved. Not the end of the world, but not seamless integration, either.

I'm producing material that's destined for Flash output. That's why I need 44.1. This "feature" is especially irritating since SB's preferences even has a setting to default to 44.1, noting in the dialog box that 44.1 is for Flash. Or tell me if I misunderstand something: my videos will become FLV, not SWF. Should I be using 48k for FLV, even though SWF needs 44.1?
Do that on export, then--not during editing.
I'll take your word for it that PPro is doing the conversion, but when I look at the properties of the extracted audio file in SB, it shows that it's 48k.
If you're using Render and Replace (you said Edit and Replace, but I think this is what you're talking about), Premiere is essentially exporting the audio clip or the audio portion of a movie clip at the highest resolution and bit depth that it can. This is so that any editing you do on the audio in Soundbooth is done at higher level of quality. Regardless of the resolution and bit depth of the source audio, Premiere will "uprez" the audio to the highest quality it can, which is 48kHz at 32-bit depth. So it is Premiere that is doing the conversion, but I don't know if I agree with Jeff that this is a bug. If, on the other hand, you're using the Edit Source File command and it's changing the sample/bit rate, that would be a bug.
Incidentally, you didn't mention if these are movie clips or audio clips you're trying to edit. If movie clips, what is the nature of the video?

  • Most efficient way of changing still image frame rates?

I'm using Premiere CS5.5 and have been having issues with the audio/video going out of sync when I upload my video to Vimeo (it's not out of sync prior to uploading it...it only happens after they transcode it). The Vimeo support staff says the problem is that I'm using a variable frame rate, but since there isn't any option (to my knowledge) to choose a constant or variable framerate in Premiere/Adobe Media Encoder, I think I have identified the problem. The primary footage that I shot with is 23.976 fps and that is what my sequence settings and output settings have been, but I also have a lot of still images that I'm using for b-roll, which I finally noticed are 29.97 fps. I changed the Intermediate Media Timebase setting to 23.976 fps in the preferences, but my question now is if there is an efficient way to change the frame rate of all those still images without having to re-import them and re-apply all the various motion effects/key framing that I've already spent a lot of time on?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah, I downloaded MediaInfo to explore some of the various versions that I've rendered in my effort to get something that works correctly on Vimeo, and depending on the encoder I saw some of what Ann posted, but I also looked at one on MediaInfo that I had rendered through Adobe Media Encoder and it had a Constant frame rate mode of 23.976, yet I remember watching that one on Vimeo at the time and it was still out of sync--Mediainfo says that version has a variable audio bit rate though, but to my knowledge there isn't an option in AME to choose a constant audio bit rate.
I agree that it's an issue on Vimeo's side, but the chances of them getting their **** together in a timely fashion seem low. The frustrating thing is that I can watch documentary style videos on Vimeo that I know were edited and compressed through Premiere/AME, yet they don't have any audio sync issues. The difference that I noticed between one of those videos and mine is the use of still images in my video. As you can see from an image I uploaded earlier, the default frame rate for still images when I imported them was 29.97 until I changed it yesterday, but it didn't update the images I had already imported. So I'm wondering if there is a way to change the frame rate of those still images without having to re-import the images and make all my edits/key framing all over again.

  • Do you change the default RAW conversion settings?

I have used Sony (and formerly used Panasonic MFT) cameras (a900, a850) for two or three years and never had any reason to change the default RAW conversion settings.  Five weeks ago I started using Sony's new a77, and for the first time am not satisfied with Aperture's default RAW conversion.  (I recalibrated all my monitors -- twice -- thinking that something in my color workflow had got busted.)  The default a77 RAW file conversion results in an overly-saturated, "Disneyfied" picture.  I have found that by sliding "Boost" almost to zero, and cutting "Hue Boost" by half, I end up with a much more life-like, atmospheric, picture -- and one that closely matches the default rendering of RAW files from the a850 and a900.
    1.  Do you change the default RAW conversions settings?  Why?
    2.  To what units, specifically, do the scales of these controls refer?
    3.  It seems that Hue Boost provides a range of settings that corresponds to the print settings "Perceptual" (= zero hue boost) to "Relative Colorimetric" (= full hue boost); does that make sense?
The User Manual, as usual, provides a solid concise explanation of the RAW Fine Tuning Brick.
Any experience you can share is appreciated.  Thanks.
    (Added:
(It seems conceptually wrong to me to have these controls be part of the RAW converter.  Are there other adjustments in Aperture that do the same thing?)

William -- many thanks for your help.  I will almost certainly change the default for my a77 (as well as for the Nex-7 I used for a week).
Are there is any other adjustments mathematically similar to the "Boost" or "Hue Boost" sliders in the RAW Fine Tuning Brick?  I ask for two reasons:
    - Mostly I'm just trying to figure out what they do, and strengthen with knowledge my quiver of Aperture effects.  According the the User Manual, they change the overall contrast, and the amount to which the hue is changed as the overall contrast is increased.
    - In practice, it makes sense to me to have the RAW conversion produce the "flattest", least "effected" image possible -- to leave _aesthetic_ adjustments to me.  I don't want to use the RAW Fine Tuning controls as part of my workflow; I want to know how to get the same increase in contrast and control of hues using other adjustments (that, specifically, don't require de-mosaic'ing).  Apple seems to indicate that the use of the RAW Fine Tuning controls may be the best approach:
For images that consist of saturated primary and secondary colors, such as an image of flowers in a lush garden, shifting the hues to their true values has a desirable visual effect. However, this is not visually desirable for images containing skin tones.
The implication is spelled out in the sentencesthat follow: use the max setting for flowers, and the minimum setting for portraits.  Isn't it odd that this recommendation is left to the RAW converter, and is buried deep in the User Manual?
