Change InfoView language (local) from URL

Hi Everyone,
We have a portal and in the portal we can click on a url to access InfoView. But in case the user change the local on the portal to view in another language like Chinese and when he/she clicks on the url to access InfoView. InfoView will display in English for Ex.
Do we have any way to put the local to the url of InfoView to change the local of InfoView. I know we can do it in the Preference but now my manager want to change it via a URL.
Thanks & Regards,
Anh Phan

Hi VS,
thanks a lot for helping me here and sorry for delay in responding. I tried the solution provided by you. I developed one one view with a combo box & a button. And another view with just a sample text view. In the next view I duplicated the view.xlf file and pasted with _de.xlf extension for german. I copied your code snippets into wdDoModifyView and in the onActionGo methods. But after that when I select Deutsheland from the list box and press Go - nothing happens. The plug is also not firing. Most probably due to the forced log off. I also tried having some text in the first view itself and creatring _de.xlf file for the same. But didnt work. Its still picking the default english language text only. Can you please guide where I am doing wrong here?
Also - is it possible to have the same functionality without the combo box but from a URL parameter? My current application is integrated in portal. So I type in mycompany.com as the url. Now if I type in mycompany.com?locale=DE will I be able to get the value and process it as you mentioned from the combo box value? Please guide.
Regards,
Shubho

    uninstall all the chinese cc products you want to replace with the english version.
    if you have no cc products installed after that, run the cleaner, http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    restart your computer
    open your cc app, click settings>preferences>apps>change langauge to english if it's not already.  close preferences then download and install via the cc app.

  • Change the language (locale) of the Portal

    Hi everybody,
    I have to implement internationalization in my Portal.
    I do it throws bundle resources in my iview and throws Portal Content Translation for workset name.
    But now, I need to implement a iview in which there are 3 flag (english, french and german for example) and when a user clicks on one of these, this changes the Portal language.
    Do someone know how I can do that?
    I think I have to change the locale of the session on the button clic but I don't find how to di that ..
    Thanks,
    Fabien

    > Hey i used "if(language.equals("EN"))" coz some times

    Of course it is, this is the whole sense of a ResourceBundle...
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/util/ResourceBundle.html
    In portal components it's even simpler, just declare the bundle in the portalapp.xml and read strings as described here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/97/cd1e400191f72ee10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    What Fabien needs, is a component placed on the framework page that changes the user's locale.
    This is an example coding to change the language to french:
    public void doContent(IPortalComponentRequest request, IPortalComponentResponse response)
    try {
    IUserMaint mutableUser = userFactory.getMutableUser(request.getUser().getUniqueID());
                mutableUser.setLocale(Locale.FRENCH);
                mutableUser.commit();
    } catch (UMException e) {
    // TODO Auto-generated catch block
    e.printStackTrace();

  • Changing Indesign language versions in CS 6

    I downloaded Indesign CS6 from the Cloud and have been using it successfully. I then had a Japanese project and so downloaded the Japanese version of Indesign. That worked great, however, I don't know how to switch it back to the English version. I watched the video on switching the languages and it only shows you how to download another language, not how to go back. In my application folder it only shows one version of Indesign and I can't reinstall the English as it shows it is already installed. But when I open a new file, I still get the Japanese version. Any ideas?

    Hi Lucy,
    You have to uninstall the Indesign version installed on the computer and change the language local from AAM.

  • How can i disable Illustrator from changing my language / keyboard layout.

    I have an azerty laptop and a qwerty external keyboard. Switching from any application to illustrator changes the language and therefore also my keyboard layout. No other application does this.

    Thanks for the reply Mike
    But i have a laptop with azerty layout (Belgian) and an external qwerty keyboard (Brittish).
    So i need both languages selected in the System Pref >> Keyboard >> Input source
    When "Brittish" is selected and i switch from Apple Mail to Photoshop to Skype to Chrome to ... it all works fine.
    Only when i switch to Illustrator it also changes my language/layout from "Brittish" to "Belgian" and stays like that. I need to manually change it back in the menu in Finder.
    I like the brittish better (with a qwerty keyboard) because of the shortcuts (eg. sqare brackets -> shortcuts for order in Illustrator are not even on an azerty (Belgian) keyboard).
    Any idea?

    But this time it change my language set from 23 to 1.

    Is any way to change back. Please, Please help I really need it
    for travel. Thanks!!!!!

    the only way you can get it back is to take it to nokia care for them to install it for you at a small fee. that means that your phone was not meant for your region to begin with and had added languages after it was already designated for another part of theworld. you will lose the language again if you update your phone or have to reformat it in the future.
    it looks like your product code is for France. where do you live ?

  • Apex 4.1 bug? Application language derived from Session changes time zone

    I have created an application in Apex 4.1 and in the "Initialization PL/SQL Code" for the session (what used to be called the VPD section) I have the following code:
    begin
      execute immediate 'alter session set time_zone = ''+01:00''';
    end;This works as expected, UNLESS the "Application Language Derived From" (under "Edit Globalization Attributes") is set to "Session", in which case the session's time zone is also affected (and not just the language, as one would expect).
    This can be seen in the following simple example, which runs the above code to set the time zone, and has the language derived from "Session":
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=38595
    This shows
    sessiontimezone = -05:00Even though the session's time_zone has been explicitly set to +01:00 with the ALTER SESSION statement.
    Experimentation with the URL shows that if a p_lang parameter is passed, with a valid language identifier, for example:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=38595&p_lang=de
    then the time zone is affected (showing -05:00 instead of +01:00).
    However, if an INVALID time zone identifier is passed:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=38595&p_lang=xx
    then the session time zone is CORRECT according to the ALTER SESSION command:
    sessiontimezone = +01:00If I change the "Application Language Derived From" to something else than "Session" (for example, "Browser" or "Item Preference"), then the timezone is also correct (ie follows the ALTER SESSION command).
    Running the page in debug mode confirms that the time zone is being set after my VPD/initialization code has been run:
    0.01585     0.00146     ...Application session: 1671806996734123, user=nobody     4

    0.02884     0.00230     NLS: Language=en     4
    Conclusion: It seems to me that when the LANGUAGE is set to be derived from the "Session", this also, as a side effect, alters the session TIME ZONE, which must be a bug... ?

    Hi Arie,
    When you are setting the language to derived from session you actually declare that you are working in a dynamic environment – per session – and not in a static one. Using the Initialization PL/SQL Code is very static as the same code is executed for every database session.I was using a fixed time zone value in the ALTER SESSION to demonstrate the bug/problem... in real life, the actual time zone is derived dynamically based on a user profile stored in the database.
    APEX 4.0 introduced the Automatic Time Zone under the Globalization tab. By default it’s set to No but setting it to Yes will allow you to use your local time zone (as derived from your browser) with whatever language derived setting you choose, including per session with the *&p_lang* parameter.The key point is that LANGUAGE has nothing to do with TIME ZONEs, and vice versa. People speak English (and Spanish, and French, and Chinese for that matter) all over the world. You cannot determine a user's time zone based on the chosen language.
    You're telling me to enable "Automatic Time Zone" to work around an unwanted side effect from changing the language setting. Sorry, but that just sounds like bad advice to me.
    If you want to use session derived language, however the local time zone settings are not good for you, you can still change them with a Before Header and After Submit PL/SQL processes and an appropriate alter session statement, on a per page base. The APEX engine will not ignore a page based session setting.Why should I have to do this for every page when the "VPD" Section (now called "Initialization PL/SQL Code") is made for this purpose?
    If you look at the help text in the Apex builder for that section, it actually says that:
    The code entered here need not pertain to VPD/FGAC and may not be related to security at all.
    Any code that needs to be executed at the earliest point in a page request can be placed here.
    For example, the following code sets the database session time zone for every page request:
    BEGIN
       EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'alter session set time_zone = ''Australia/Sydney'' ';
    END;So I hope the demonstrated behavior is not intentional, but a bug, and I'm hoping Joel sees it the same way.

  • Problems realted to changing the language for non-Unicode programs from one into anther.

    Hi,
    Hi everyone!
    Product Name: HP Pavilion dv6-6093ex
    Product Number : LM610EA#A2N.
    My Windows 7(464Bit) Ultimate,  and its base language, and display language is English.
    The Languages(English, French and Arabic) built-in (came re-downloaded and re-installed by the person who made the Windows disc installation). Thus, while installing Windows 7, those three lanauge listed for me to choose one of them to be the base language
    and display language, I have chosen 'English'. In the End of installation, there are three pre-packaged languages(English and French and Arabic) can be used as a display language.
    I would like anyone kindly to confirm for me why I have been facing these problems when changing  language for non-Unicode programs from English into Arabic.
    First: After I have installed the  AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver (sp55092) 8.882.2.3000 on my laptop. The contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in Arabic while language for non-Unicode programs
    is Arabic, however, they are completely shown in English while language for non-Unicode programs is English.
    A: I found that contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in Arabic (second screen shot below, however,
    when click on any options, for example 'Graphics properties' shown in Arabic in, the second window is shown in English) while language for non-Unicode programs is
    Arabic, and it doesn't matter what format or location is.
    B- when I changed language for non-Unicode programs into
    English.
    I found that contents of the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are completely shown in English .
    Second:
    A- Only All Arabic contents will be displayed encryptely while language for non-Unicode programs is English
    B-  All the Arabic contents are displayed properly   while language for non-Unicode programs is  Arabic.
    Third: an error extracting drivers and software downloaded from official HP website while language for non-Unicode programs is English.
    A-  I noticed an error extracting all kinds of comprised files(drivers and software) downloaded from HP website while language for non-Unicode programs is English and whatever location and format are:
    B- However  while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic, there is no error extracting files.
    In conclusion, Is it normal
    for all of you the contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in your native while  language  used
    for non-Unicode programs is your native lanague, however, they are completely shown in English while language for non-Unicode programs is English?.  IF so I would be saying that if I have wanted the  contents of documents written in my language
    Arabic to be shown properly, then then I
    must let the language for non-Unicode programs be Arabic.
    Is this happens with you as well?
    Also, if I need extracting all kinds of comprised files(drivers and software) downloaded from HP website, then language for non-Unicode programs
    must be in my Arabic lanague English and whatever location and format are.
    Is this happened with you as well?
    I would highly appreciate any clarification from you.
    A man should convert his anger and sadness into strength to continue living in this life.

    Hi,
    I am confused about your issue.
    when you changed language for non-Unicode programs into  English, it show English.
    while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic, it show Arabic, If it's none-Unicode.
    This is correct. Why you think it's an issue?
    About your second scenario description, I was not clear what you said. Could you give us a explanation?
    Note: System display language is not the un-Unicode program language.
    You can just choose one language to display the system at same time.

  • Can external users change their language, time zone, and locale settings?

    Hi,
    We’re migrating our hosts from WebEx cloud to our on-prem solution right now (CWMS 1.5.1.323.A).
    We’ve learned that CWMS 1.5 does not provide an online address book where hosts could customize language, time zone, and locale settings for their external attendees.
    Do external users have any chance at all to change their language, time zone and locale settings individually?
    Thank you,
    Helge

    Hi Dejan,
    "external users" are those participants, who do not have an LDAP account in our deployment, since they are not intendet to act as hosts: our stakeholders, partners, customers, clients.
    It looks, as if these people would stick to the systems' default language / time zone / locale.
    We are wondering if there might be a CWMS-component like this:
    https://artcom.webex.com/cmp0307l/webcomponents/widget/preference.do?serviceType=MC&siteurl=artcom&target=Page&backUrl=%2Fmw0307l%2Fmywebex%2Fdefault.do%3Fsiteurl%3Dartcom%26service%3D1
    to allow those "extenal" participants to make their adjustments.
    Thank you,

    how can i change the language of my playlist from italian to english even i change already the language setting still the playlist is italian

    Language depends on what version of license you've bought. If you've bought a 'Chinese' license, you're stuck with 'Mandarin' or 'Cantonese' UI language.
    If you purchased a Multi-lingual license (which I doubt they sell these days) and if you did install the 'optional language packs' when installing Photoshop, go to Photoshop Preferences (Edit > Preferences in Windows, Photoshop > Preferences in Mac) > Interface > UI Language - change here.
    Also, keep in mind that if you do change the language with multi-language installation or change your locale, Photoshop may ask you to re-enter and re-activate your license.
