Change of Author in Distiller

Hi There,
Please can you help me to change my author settings for Distiller.
When I create a PDF I get my name showing as the author. Although this can be manually cahnged in the PDF itself using Professional, this is not practical for the amount of PDFs I need to create.
Is it possible to change this without changing the name of my machine? This name is critical due to security policies in my company.
Many thanks,
Claire

Something that actually might be easier.
Establish periodic PDF "production" stop points to run a Batch Sequence (Acrobat Pro 8 or 9) / Action (Acrobat Pro X) which would run the "Description" sequence across multiple PDFs in one go.
Configure the Description sequence to slick the value in the "Author" field.
Be well...

  • How do I change the authorized computer to sync to my iPad? Lost all my data and am trying to reinstall my iTunes libraries.

How do I change the authorized computer to sync to my iPad? I lost all of my data when my PC crashed and am trying to reinstall my iTunes libraries in the same PC that has been reformatted to its original factory state.

If you followed the instructions in the link that Diavonex referred you to, that should have transferred all of the iPad content into your iTunes library. I have no idea what to mean by the iPad sees another PC. Where? How do you know that? How are your determining that the iPad sees another PC? iTunes does the "seeing" - not the iPad.
Then you say "if I share" - do you mean if you use Home Sharing? The iPad and computer do not have to be connected in order for Home Sharing to work. The devices must be on the same WiFi network. You cannot transfer music from the computer to the iPad using Home Sharing.
I still don't understand what you are saying,

  • Change markup author name (AutoVue DD)

    Hello,
I'm trying to change the author's name when creating markups using AutoVue Desktop Deployment (this is a must). I've implemented custom functionalities on events (such as ONOPENFILE) using the code examples provided in the docs. At this time, if I create a markup, AutoVue automatically set author's name as my Windows logged in username (I suppose). Is there any way I can change this behavior, so that I can set the author's name programatically? Or setting it on a file or something?
    Thanks in advance.

The username that appears on your markup is the windows user or if connected to a DMS (CS use case) the DMS login name

  • Change the author of comments

In Pages 5 I have some comments that were imported from a Pages 09 document, and those comments say the author was IMPORTED. Is there a way I can change the author to me...which is in the Pages preferences like any new comments would have it.
    Thanks.

The Imported Author comment title is just that and the color is fixed. You are allowed to edit the author name that appears below it, by clicking in that field. Pages v5 is using color-coded authors, so for your author name, you can use Menu > View > Comments and Changes > Author Color. Here is the Help topic. This should provide a color for comments made in Pages v5 that is different from those in Pages ’09 v4.3.

  • How do I change the author's name for comments in Pages?

I am a long time Microsoft Word user and am currently testing out Pages for the first time.
Something that is extremely vital to me in my line of work is the ability to track changes and add comments to the documents.
I have found how to do this in Pages with ease, but when it initially asked me whether I wanted to allow Pages to access my comments I had the thought "why do you need to access that?" and denied it. I then clicked past the option to change the name by mistake.
Since then I have not been able to find any way to reverse what I have done, the best I can find is to change the colour that I am commenting with. I want my comments to have my name rather than "author".
If someone knows how to change this can you please let me know.
    Thanks

Never mind, after spending ages seaching I finally found it.
For those that may be interested, it can be changed in the under Pages > Preferences

  • Image Brightness Changes When Authoring DVDs

    Hello,
To encode footage I export 720 24p footage from FCP as a Quicktime .mov using Microcosm then encode in Compressor using the standard Best Quality, 16:9, SD setting. The Quicktime .mov and the encoded .m2v file plays with the same image brightness and contrast as does the original footage in the FCP timeline, but once I author it in Studio Pro it consistenly looks lighter and consequently washed out when played back on the same monitor from the DVD. It also ends up looking lighter when played on a TV than programs from a typical rental DVD movie.
I set up my 23" Cine display carefully with with Apple's advanced profiling software, and images and color bars match footage displayed on my Sony PVM-14M that has been set up with color bars through a decklink card.
Can anyone offer advice about why this may be happening? So far my only fix is to arbitrarely change image brightness when encoding with Compressor. Is there some change I should be making in FCP to go from 720 24p HD footage to SD encodes?
    Thanks,
    Drew Harty

I have read on various forums that people are getting better encodes from HD footage by exporting to a Quicktime file before encoding. Several people have complained about the results exporting directly to Compressor. I take it you haven't found this to be a problem?

  • Track Changes modifies author/color when document is saved

I received a document that had been edited by another user.  When I make additional edits, they show up as a different color and under my author name, but when I save the document, they change to the first author's color and author name.  I've
tried saving the .docx document to a .doc, but it didn't help.  I'm running 2007.

Thanks Stefan. How is a normal mortal supposed to figure this out?
I was quite frustrated by losing the colors of my changes (which were numerous) as I was reviewing a contract. Suddenly my comments and the other reviewer's comments were indistinguishable. I spent a lot of time trying to work around this (assuming it
was a Mac Word bug) and then searching to find this thread. Still have to go back and now re-mark my changes to get them to appear in a different color.
In Word 2010, the “Remove personal information...” option will get activated by Word if a user removes personal information via File tab | Options | Info | Check for Issues | Inspect Document. This is poorly documented in Help, though.
What you can do is post to Office feedback (http://mymfe.microsoft.com/Office/feedback.aspx?formID=375) and suggest improvement for future releases.

  • How to make changes to Adobe PDF (Distiller) printer's printing prefrences programatically?

I want to change the "Default Setting" in the Adobe PDF (Distiller) printer's printing prefrences programatically. How can i do that?

    Why? I don't know :-)
When I compare the documents (single page 'export' vs booklet-spreads 'print booklet') at 800%, the images on the 'export' are crisp. The images on the booklet are seriously pixellated/unreadable.
If it *is* possible to get print-ready, I'd love to!
This is what I'm doing - any help is greatly appreciated.:
    File > Print Booklet.
    Displayed settings:
    Printer: Adobe PDF
    Booklet type: 2-up Saddle Stitch
    Creep: 3mm
Margins: Automatically Adjust to Fit Marks and Bleeds
    Print Blank Printer Spreads
    Click Print Settings:

    Print Preset: [Custom]
    Printer: Adobe PDF

  • How do I change picture, author and description of new podcast submitted?

So I just submitted a new podcast, The Jay and Clay Show, and it was accepted by iTunes. However it has the wrong picture, author and description and I need to change it. Apple's technical support e-mail was not too helpful on this. Also I am not too knowledgeable about RSS feeds so if you could please explain the steps necessary to change this that would be great.
My RSS feed URL is: thejayandclayshow.wordpress.com/feed
    and my URL is: thejayandclayshow.wordpress.com

You will need to enter the new name and category in the same places that you entered the current ones. However you need to check whether this will affect the feed URL: some services incorporate the title into the feed URL so changing the title would change that and iTunes would lose contact with the feed. If the feed URL doesn't contain the title you should be good to go. Exepct the Store to take a couple of days or so to update.

  • How do I change the author of my podcast?

I recently made a podcast for my friend's band through podomatic and submitted it to the iTunes store. It works and all but when I set the podomatic account up, I set it up in my name. So on the iTunes store page it has MY name and I need to find a way to remove it, as to not take away from the band haha.
I've already gone back to podomatic and replaced my name with the band's name. I'm not sure if iTunes will update this information like it does the podcasts or not.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't think there is much you can do
Sure there is: you can ping iTunes to notify them that there have been changes to your rss feed. Instructions on how to ping iTunes are available in the podcast technical specifications page.
You can ping the iTunes server to update your podcast information by entering the following URL into a browser:
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=FEEDID
where FEEDID is your iTunes podcast numeric ID. You can also use:
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?feedURL=http://FEEDURL
where FEEDURL is the url for your feed.
Regardless of the ping method you use, iTunes will return an HTTP 200 code.

  • How to change the author and "podcast website," in iTunes store?

    Hi,
my itunes store page is http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-fallacy-a-day-podcast/id469610386 and my podcast is hosted on a free account at Podomatic.
It seems that the information on that page is drawn from the data on my Podomatic feed, including the "iTunes" page in my Podomatic account. All I ever did on iTunes is to go into the store section of iTunes and submit the rss URL.
I've read the FAQ but can't see how to change these features of my iTunes store page:
    1. On my itunes store page the title is: "The Fallacy-a-Day Podcast By The Fallacy-a-Day Podcast" but I would rather it be "The Fallacy-a-Day Podcast by fallacaday.com"
    2. Also on that page, under "Links" on the right, if you click Podcast website it takes you to fallacyaday.podomatic.com but I would prefer that iTunes store visitors are directed to my podcast's home page at fallacyaday.com.
As it stands, my homepage is being completely bypassed by some downloaders (although I do mention it in the podcast episodes themselves) and I have no metric on how many people are downloading the podcast. My Google Analytics indicate a constant number of visitors each day while the Podomatic bandwidth usage is increasing. I have no idea of what proportion of downloaders are doing so on Podomatic vs iTunes. Podomatic's own statistics (for the free account) are almost totally useless because they oscillate wildly from one day to the next.
Thanks to anyone who can offer help on these two questions!

Everything in the iTunes Store about your podcast is carried in the feed: the title is in the 'title' tag and the link in the 'link' tag. Although I'm not familiar with Podomatic my understanding is that you don't have access to the feed yourself, but have to set the details within Podomatic.
It should be easy enough to change the title by changing it wherever you originally set it. As to the link, I've seen others complaining that it directs to the podomatic site and can't be changed. Obviously they want to attract attention to their own service. I imagine this can't be changed but it's something you would need to take up with Podomatic.
Even if you had the correct link most visitors probably won't bother with it. If they are interested they will subscribe to your podcast in iTunes and listen to the episodes there - there's no reason to go to the site. iTunes does not provide usage statistics, and visits to your website aren't really relevant.
I'm afraid that the problem with all these online services is that they are what they are - they make it easy to get a podcast up and running but the facilities they provide may not always be exactly want you want and can't be changed.

  • How can i change my 'authorized computers'?

my iTunes says i have 4 authorized computers with one left, but i only have 1 computer ( tho it now has a new HD so maybe iTunes thinks its #2. but that still leaves 2 mysterious authorized computers)  how can i update the authorized computers or at least see WHICH ones they are??

You can deauthorize all the computers and then authorize only the ones you have or use. See iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420

  • Author name changing 9.0 Pro

Using 9.0 Pro - recently had to change from XP to 7.
Initially started learning 7.0 with Account name of David - no special security.
Then as I get more knowledgeable in Win 7 and IAW recommendations  I set up an "Administrator" account with PW of "Dr. XXXXX" that allows me access to everythhing, but also allows malicious folks in also. Win 7 recommendation was to also have a non-secure account for everyday less-sensitive tasks so I did this also with the PW of "Dr. XXXXX".
Naturally I want to use the Dr. XXXX in my Stickies for professional clout, but Acrobat insists on using David.
Yes, I know about the tick-mark under "properties" where I can specify that my ID in the stickie is to be my log-in name. Yes, I have tried unchecking, rebooting, re-checking, rebooting, etc. Acrobat refuses to use eith my "administrator" or my non-secure name of Dr. XXXX. Frustrating.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Neptune

Hi Bill - thanks for the response.
I am now beginning to "cone in" a bit am better able to describe the
    problem:
    1.  As I stated at the start, I am using Acrobat 9.0 Pro and Win7
    2.  As I go to: Edit...preferences...commenting...making
comments...(checkbox) Always use log-in name for author name.
Whether or not this box is checked or unchecked the result is the same:
I go to Sticky Note on the taskbar, place it on the page, go to
Options...properties...general...author I find "David". Yes, I can change
the Author Name, but whether or not I further check the box, "Make
properties default" thr result is the same - that one sticky will have the
correct "Dr. XXXX" but the next sticky, as well as subsequent PDFs once
    again default to "David.
    3.   Thanks to ***** (whose four links all quite happily referred me to the
Acrobat X page (I clearly stated 9.0 Pro) then quoted a generic OS (rather
than my clearly-stated Win 7) I finally figured out the problem when I
accessed the 9.0 Pro help in the far right lower corner of the Acrobat X
page. Dumb of me, I admit but I had tried this initially in my own program
"help" without really understanding what was happening.
SO HERE IS PART OF THE ANSWER: The overall basic "author" information
appears to reside in Edit...Preferences...Identity...Login Name (type-in
box) David. Now the fun part. I am unable to change the Log-in name and thus
am unable to change the sticky note. When I try to change the Log-in name I
get a cheery tone, a blinking box, and no was to change David to Dr. XXXX.
Well, it does seem that once I can change the ...Identity...log-in name I
should be able to change the sticky PERMANENTLY.
So I apologize if I have seemed a bit grouchy, and I do appreciate those of
you who have tried to help, but it does get frustrating when those trying to
help express a solution that uses totally unrecognized words, or do not get
even the Adobe  product correct, or the OS...
SO - now the underlying problem is defined. ...
USING WIN 7 AND ACROBAT 9.0 PRO, HOW DO I CHANGE THE LOGIN NAME UNDER
EDIT...PREFERENCES...IDENTITY if I am not allowed access?
Again - apologies to all, but the time I have spent...
