Change of CR XI database dynamically to Oracle

The following code is the one which I am using to change the database of CR XI(JDBC(JNDI)) dynamically to Oracle .....
final String CONNECTION_STRING = "Use JDBC=b(true);Connection URL=s(jdbc:oracle:thin:@servername:1521:EMUSER);" +
                "Database Class Name=s(oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver);Server=s(servername);" +
                "User ID=s(emuser);Password=s(empass);Database=s(EMUSER);Trusted_Connection=b(false);" +
                "JDBC Connection String=s(!oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver!jdbc:oracle:thin:@servername:1521:EMUSER;" +
                "DatabaseName=;user=;password=!)";
          final String DATABASE_NAME = "EMUSER";
          final String URI = "!oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver!jdbc:oracle:thin:@servername:1521:EMUSER;DatabaseName=;user=;password=!";
          final String DATABASE_DLL = "crdb_jdbc.dll";
          Tables tables = databaseController.getDatabase().getTables();
for (int i = 0; i lessthan tables.size(); i++) {
ITable origTable = tables.getTable(i);
ITable newTable = (ITable)origTable;
newTable.setName(origTable.getName());
newTable.setAlias(origTable.getAlias());
IConnectionInfo iConnectionInfo = origTable.getConnectionInfo();
PropertyBag propertyBag = new PropertyBag();
propertyBag.put("Database Class Name","oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
propertyBag.put("Connection URL","jdbc:oracle:thin:@servername:1521:EMUSER");
PropertyBag pb=new PropertyBag();
pb.put(PropertyBagHelper.CONNINFO_CRQE_LOGONPROPERTIES, propertyBag);
pb.put(PropertyBagHelper.CONNINFO_DATABASE_DLL, DATABASE_DLL);
iConnectionInfo.setAttributes(propertyBag);
iConnectionInfo.setUserName(DBUSERNAME);
iConnectionInfo.setPassword(DBPASSWORD);
iConnectionInfo.setAttributes(pb);
newTable.setConnectionInfo(iConnectionInfo);
databaseController.setTableLocation(origTable,newTable);
The following is the exception which I got...

  • How to change report query dynamically in Oracle APEX?

    Hi,
    I want to dynamically change the where condition in APEX report query. Can anyone help me solve my this problem?
    (Just want to change the query which we change in Oracle Reports using lexical parameter to change &Where, &Order by etc. dynamically!!)
    Thanks, Praful

    Hi
    I've been using flexible queries in APEX for a few years now, and your question just added a whole new dimension to the flexible and powerful nature or writing reports in APEX.
    While APEX Interactive reporting has almost completely removed the need the equivalent of Lexicals in Oracle Reports, I thought it might be fun to try and use lexicals in an APEX report.
    Before we start I should summarise the powerful capability of APEX reporting to have oprtional parameters (lots and lots of them if this is needed).
    For each parameter, you simply add a page item which will hold the value of the parameter.
    The item/parameter can be populated by typing in the value, defining an LOV, using a date-picker etc.
    To make the parameter optional simply use an OR in the where clause.
    So for a apge item P200_PARAM1.....include
    WHERE (:P200_PARAM1 IS NULL
    OR COLUMN1 = :P200_PARAM1)
    This way you can either leave the page item null or type in / select a value from a LOV.
    There is a small quirk in APEX LOV's which sometimes returns a value of '%' or '%null%' - depending on the version - when no value is selected.
    See Patrick Wolf's solution for this at Re: Null value handling in LOVs
    I include this Application Process in all my APEX applications ;)
    Now let's look at using the equivalent of Oracle Reports Lexicals......
    First-off - this is based on the APEX SQL report - NOT Interactive Report.
    It relies on the fact that you can let the query be parsed only at runtime.
    1. Define an SQL report entering the 'core' of your query.
    With a query like SELECT ENAME, JOB FROM EMP
    Select 'Generic Columns' option in the 'Column Headings' section
    Finish the report creation
    2. Define a page item - say P200_LEXICAL - type text on the page
    3. Edit the report and update the SQL query to include your lexical page item
    SELECT ENAME, JOB FROM EMP &P200_LEXICAL. (REMEMBER THE '.' AT THE END)
    Ensure that the option "Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only)" is selected at the bottom of the query
    4. Add a button to the page -using 'Create a button displayed among this region's items' the will submit the page.
    5. Run the page - you will see all the employee names and job desdriptions
    6. Enter a where clause into the 'Lexical' textbox - say "WHERE ENAME LIKE 'K%'" and click the 'Go' button
    Voila! your where clause is magically applied.
    Try any variant you like adding an ORDER BY clause etc...... this is FUN!
    7. Clear the value of the LEXICAL and click go.
    Edit the report and move the &P200_LEXICAL. into the selected columns (or add another one)
    SELECT ENAME, JOB &P200_LEXICAL. FROM EMP
    8. Run the page
    Enter ",SAL" in the textbox and "Go"
    We can add as many columns as we like (subject to the "Maximum number of generic report columns:" set below the SQL query in the report edit section)
    Now because we have all the flexibility in APEX of setting page items using SQL or PLSQL you can set the value of the lexical programatically, or just pre-set a few values in an LOV - the options are limitless.
    While I've never had the need to use lexicals - you can see that APEX provides the most Flexible Lexicals in town.
    Eat your heart out "Oracle Reports"!!!
    Have fun

  • Changing the data source from DB2 to ORACLE in SBOP 4.0

    Hi Gurus,
    We have done SBOP 4.0 SP 2 installation successfully on Linux by choosing DB2 as default Database as suggested by SAP as there is some issue with RH LINUX 5.5 version. Now, we need to change the CMS data source back to ORACLE 11G. For that we have to execute cmsdbsetup.sh and go with the option of "copy" (Copy data from another Data Source). We need to provide the target/destination CMS database in my case ORACLE (TNS & CMS user) details. And also we need to provide the source CMS user (DB2) details. As we went with the bundled/default DB2 installation, we are not able to find the cms user name and password (no where during the installation it prompted to provide cms username and password).
    What will be the default cms username /password in DB2?
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

    Hi,
    The work around is to create/add an extra node (SIA Node) with default servers option for the existing CMS and provided my ORACLE CMS username/password along with the TNS Names using cmsdbsetup.sh. Make sure that this new node is visible in the Servers section of the CMC console (i.e. http://<webappserver>:8080/BOE/CMC-->servers) and also see that all the servers should be running. Then you can delete the old SIA which was connected to DB2 from the CMC->servers.
    Thanks,
    Sandeep

  • Can we rename the database name in oracle 10g

    Hi,
    Can we rename the database name in oracle 10g.
    Please help

    Yes as already said, using DBNEWID Utility can renamed the database name.
    You can also take a look at the Oracle Metalink Note:429674.1 (Which was written by me) - Subject: How We Used the Oracle DBNEWID Utility to Change the Database Name

  • How to pass Username dynamically in Oracle Apps Adapter .jca file

    My BPEL process uses Oracle Applications Adapter. The following is the .jca file for the Adapter.  The Username is initialized statically to "sysadmin" when I created the Adapter. How can I change this to be passed dynamically at runtime? Can I use an EL Expression or an XPath variable. If so how to do and what the correct syntax is?
    Is it possible to pass in the username from the OWSM Security policy for the username value below? If so how to do? I appreciate your response.
    <adapter-config name="EBSAdapter" adapter="Apps" wsdlLocation="../WSDLs/EBSAdapter.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
      <connection-factory UIConnectionName="EBS1" location="eis/Apps/EBS1" UIConcurrentPgmName="" UIOracleAppType="DBOBJECT"/>
      <endpoint-interaction portType="EBSAdapter_ptt" operation="EBSAdapter">
        <interaction-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.apps.AppsStoredProcedureInteractionSpec">
          <property name="SchemaName" value="APPS"/>
          <property name="PackageName" value="INTG"/>
          <property name="ProcedureName" value="GET_USER_PROFILE1"/>
          <property name="IRepInternalName" value="PLSQL:INTG:WEBCENTER_GET_USER_PROFILE1"/>
          <property name="Username" value="sysadmin"/>
          <property name="Responsibility" value="System Administrator"/>
        </interaction-spec>
      </endpoint-interaction>
    </adapter-config>

    1. Go to Invoke activity
    2. Click on Properties tab.
    3. click Add
    4. Add this property "jca.apps.Username" and map it with either variable or expression.
    5. Populate variable defined at previous step with some valid username value at runtime.
    hope this helps.

    Hi,
    If you getting a problem with DBCA go for manually process:-
    I had listed steps which I follow
    Step 1: Decide on Your Instance's System Identifier (SID)
    Step 2: Create the Initialization Parameter File
    Note:- Name the copied init.ora file init<SID>.ora because this is the default naming convention that the Oracle server looks for when it tries to start up the instance ORACLE_HOME/dbs directory (exists over the prefered path)
    Edit this file's parameters so that your database and your instance will run effectively on your system.
    DB_NAME Must be set to a text string of eight characters or less. During database creation, the value assigned to DB_NAME is recorded in the database's datafiles, redo log files, and control files. If, when you attempt to start the database instance, the value of DB_NAME as recorded in the initialization parameter file and the database name in the control files are not the same, the database will not start.
    DB_DOMAIN A text string that specifies the network domain where the database is created.
    CONTROL_FILES Is assigned the comma-separated list of control file names to use for the new database. When you execute the CREATE DATABASE statement, the control files listed as values assigned to this parameter are created. If you fail to specify a filename for the CONTROL_FILES parameter, Oracle creates a file with a default operating system dependant filename.
    DB_BLOCK_SIZE Specifies the standard block size of the database. This size is used in the creation of the system tablespace and by default in any other tablespaces created. Take care when determining what this value should be because after the database is created, the value cannot be changed.
    UNDO_MANAGEMENT Determines whether the database starts in automatic undo management mode. A value of AUTO enables automatic undo management; MANUAL enables manual undo management mode. In 9i, AUTO is suggested, but MANUAL is default.
    UNDO_TABLESPACE When the instance starts in automatic undo management mode, it needs to have a tablespace in which to store its undo information. The default is SYS_UNDOTBS and is automatically created if you execute a CREATE DATABASE statement with the UNDO_MANAGEMENT initialization parameter set to AUTO and no UNDO TABLESPACE statement in the CREATE DATABASE statement.
    Step 3: Connect to and Start the Instance
    Connect to the instance as SYSDBA either using operating system authentication or the password file method of authentication and start up the instance using the STARTUP command.
    sqlplus '/ as sysdba'
    If your parameter file is not in the default location or is not named init<SID>.ora, you may need to specify the PFILE clause in the STARTUP command for the instance to start.
    Because you do not yet have a database attached to the instance, you need to start up the instance in NOMOUNT state:
    startup nomount;
    The instance is now started and ready for the CREATE DATABASE command.
    Step 4: Issue the CREATE DATABASE Statement
    create database mydb1 controlfile reuse
    Logfile
    Group 1 ('/mydb1/log1/log01a.log',
    '/mydb2/mydb1/log01b.log') size 50M,
    Group 2 ('/mydb1/log1/log02a.log',
    '/mydb2/log1/log02b.log') size 50M,
    Group 3 ('/mydb1/log1/log03a.log',
    '/mydb2/mydb1/log03b.log') size 50M
    Datafile '/mydb1/mydb1_system.dbf' 250M
    AUTOEXTEND ON MAXSIZE 500M
    Undo tablespace mydb1_undo1
    Datafile '/mydb/mydb1/mydb1_undo1.dbf' 50M
    Default temporary tablespace mydb1temp tempfile
    '/mydb/mydb1/mydb1temp1.dbf' size 75M
    Extent management local
    Character set US7ASCII
    MAXLOGFILES 10
    MAXLOGMEMBERS 10
    MAXLOGHISTORY 1
    MAXDATAFILES 500;

  • How to Import Database user in oracle which have character set AL32UTF8?

    Hello All,
    I want export one database user which have character set in WE8MSWIN1252 and I want to Import that Database user in oracle which have character set AL32UTF8 without changing character set.
    is there any argument in import command??
    thanks

    There's no problem, export and import will take care of character set conversions, the only problem is AL32UTF8 is a variable size character set, if 'ñ' uses 1 byte in WE8MSWIN1252, in AL32UTF8 it will use 2 bytes, so it's recommended to pre-create the tables with "char" instead of "byte": create table xxx ( col1 varchar2(100 char), ... )

  • To create a database link from oracle to sqlserver with NT authentication

    Hi ,
    I need to create a database link from oracle 9i to sql server database with windows authentication.I dont have the database username and password instead the access is given to my NT ID and password.So can anyone provide me the information about creating a dblink to sql server with windows authentication.
    Thanks

    Oracle is attempting to log in to SQL Server using NT authentication.
    The Oracle process, however, is running presumably with a local admin account (normal for a Windows service). SQL Server has no idea what this local account is, so it denies the login.
    You could change the Oracle service to run as a known user (presumably not as your Windows ID but some other Windows ID you create explicitly for Oracle) and then grant that Windows ID in SQL Server appropriate privileges. That would mean, though, that when you queried tables over the database link, you'd be using that new Windows ID's privileges on SQL Server, not your Windows ID's privileges.
    As I've said, though, this is a general architectural limitation for a multi-tier architecture. The end system (SQL Server) generally has no idea who the end user (your Windows ID) is when that user is coming through a middle tier (Oracle). So it cannot apply end-user permissions to connections created by the middle tier.

  • How can i define database name in oracle ADI

    Hai Friends,
    I am facing a problem when i am going to define database name in oracle ADI there is a error u can enter minimum 6 char database name but my database name is PROD it is only 4 char long. how can i define can i will change the database name. Please suggest me.
    If u have any query regarding oracle apps plse discuss with me.
    Many thanks
    Ghanshyam khetan

    Database is used internally by ADI and does not have any relationship to the name of your database.
    Using ADI I am able to create a database with the following:
    Name - My Wacky Database
    GWYUID and FNDNAM as usual
    Connect String - VIS
    I'm able to signon and work successfully with that definition. The connect string is more important in this scenario as that tells the networking layer which database to actually talk to. As you can see here mine is only three characters.

  • SQL database move to Oracle

    Hello,
    I posted here yesterday about locating the Database connection string of a JSP program that I'm currently fixing.
    A little background though, I'm actually an asp.net developer so some of these things in JSP is still new to me.
    Anyway I found two files that may be connected to the database connection:
    jdbc.properties :
    jdbc.driverClassName=com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    jdbc.password=password
    jdbc.url=jdbc\:sqlserver\://xx.x.x.xxx\:1433;DatabaseName\=Database1;failoverPartner\=xx.x.x.xxx;charset\=utf-8
    jdbc.username=sa
    and
    jdbc_master.properties
    jdbc.master.driverClassName=com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
    jdbc.master.password=password
    jdbc.master.url=jdbc\:sqlserver\://xx.x.x.xxx\:1433;DatabaseName\=Database2;failoverPartner\=xx.x.x.xxx;charset\=utf-8
    jdbc.master.username=sa
    Now what I need is now convert the connection string to connect to a converted Oracle Database. I have all the needed parameters such as the username, password, database name, ip address, etc.
    Do I just change the driverClassName for this to an oracle string for me to connect to the new database?
    Need expert advice, thanks!

    You need to have classes12.jar in you classpath.then this will work
    <%@ page import = "java.sql.*"%>
    <%
    //String driverclass="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver";
    Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:thin:@<ipaddress>:<portnumber>:<schema name>","<userid>","<password>");
    Statement st=con.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs=null;
    rs=st.executeQuery("select");
    %>

  • Can we change the fields of database unique index in a customised table?

    Hi all..
    I want to know that can we create or change or delete the database unique index of a customized table?
    In my case, there is a customised table with 4 primary keys with all the records to be maintained thru transaction code SM30.
    There is database unique index maintained for this table which has 2 fields. These 2 fields are out of the 4 primary fields of the table.I hope I have made myself clear!
    Now when I am trying to insert a record in the table it give me a short dump.( It says duplication of records is not allowed)
    The reason being that the new record that I am trying to insert in the database table has those 2 fields for which the unique index is maintained is the same as an already existing record.And the other two fields are different from the already existing record.So overall the combination of the 4 primary fields is different.
    Please tell me how shall I proceed now?
    I also tried to change the Unique index but it is asking me some kind of authrization(You are not authorized to make changes (authorization object S_DEVELOP)).Also I am not sure whether changing the unique index is feasible or not.?
    Thanks.

    hi
    I think you will not be able to do unique indexing withou the help of primary keys,so use all the primary keys into the table field selections  and and then create indexing otherwise dupilication of keys can occur. if you are not able to keep the primary keys then go for non unique key indexing,where you have to add the client field and the any keys of your wish.
