Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Open the existing pdf file with Preview.
In preview, select File, Save As, and click on the Format window to change PDF to JPEG.
Then click the Save button.
Quality may suffer in the translation from one format to another.
In a quick test, changing Quality to 'Best' and Resolution to 300 dpi, the text in my sample page was crisp, but the original photo area was very pixelated.
The original image in the pdf file was also pixelated when viewed at 100%

Want to change photos from bmps to JPEGs

When I e-mail photos from my iPhone (3G), they show up as bmp files instead of JPEGs, which makes it harder to post to blogs, etc. Is there a way to change the setting on my phone so that the photos are JPEGs?

I had a client who was sending a file from his iPhone with this same problem earlier this week. All of the attached jpg files that I have been getting this week from Mac computer users (not just iPhone), are coming over embedded as .bmp files. (I have to work on PC here at work.) So far I've been unable to pinpoint how to fix this.

The format gets automatically changed.

Which version are you using (and which patch level - if any).
Also what formatting is default on the reports and what is the default format in excel.
What exactly is different between PDF and excel?
Another possibility is that font substitution is going on??

Export Single Photo from PDF

Does anyone know if it is possible to export a single photo from a saved PDF file that was created in Elements 11?

Open the PDF in the editor, which will bring up the PDF parser. Click the Images button and adjust the settings on the right side of the window to what you want, then you can open all the images in the pdf and save the one you want.

About changing photos from one album to another

I have three album in my website and I want to make some changes, moving some photos from one album to another. I have tried it by dragging them but it´s impossible.

One axis of wave chart cannot change away from automatic formatting

Refer attached vi and picture. I can change the other two y axis to floating point, but I cannot change the "acceleration x,y,z" from automatic formating to floating point; whenever I click floating point, the highlight returns back to automatic formating.
Now why is that, some setting wrong some where?

Hello Sunflower2772,
I've opened your VI in both LabVIEW 8.6 and LabVIEW 2009, and could see the same behaviour in both versions.
After that, I tried a few things:
- I deleted all other scales except for the "acceleration x, y, z", but it was still the same.
- I duplicated the "acceleration x,y,z" scale, so now there are two scales - "acceleration x,y,z" and "acceleration x,y,z 2". I shifted all but 1 of the plots to use "acceleration x,y,z 2". The result was still the same.
It is really a strange behaviour, it looks to me like it could be a bug. Do you have the exact steps to replicate this problem?
Anyway, I managed to get a workaround. Using one of the normal scales "Heave, roll, pitch", I duplicated that scale by right-clicking on "Heave, roll, pitch" axis, and select "Duplicate Scale". This duplicated scale can be assigned to the individual plots again, and the display format will not be "fixed" to the automatic formatting option.
Please try it out and let me know how it goes.

The first question has to be how are you taking your screenshots?
There are multiple ways of taking screenshots - some built-in and some provided by third party applications, so knowing which one you use is essential
If you're using the Command-Shift-3 (or -4) technique you can set the default by opening Terminal.app and running:
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type pdf
(you may need to log out/in for the change to take effect).
Other techniques may have different methods of setting the default.

Why does a photo from PDF have lines through it after conversion?

I am trying to edit a flier that was sent to me as a pdf. Have tried several times to convert and there are white lines through it. It was originally created in Publisher, if that helps. The Adobe Acrobat subscription doesn't do me much good if I can't convert a flier with photos with good quality. Help

Reorder of book from PDF format

I need to reorder a book that has already been published, but only have a copy in the PDF file format on DVD. how can I get Apple to publish from this disk and format?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There used to be a way you could fool iPhoto into using an old pdf file in place of the one it creates for printing but iPhoto 6 has eliminated that possibility. Also I've been told that myPublisher now requires you to use their plugin to order direct from iPhoto instead of uploading a pdf for them to print. It doesn't work for V5 so you might contact them to see if they will do it for a V5 user (a little stretching of the truth).
Here's a hint on how to save them for future printing:
1 - create a separate library for creating books.
2 - in your full library put the photos for the book in an album.
3 - using iPhoto Library Manager, copy that album from the full library to the book library. You can also use it to add photos later if deemed necessary.
4 - create and order the book.
5 - when done, burn the entire book library folder to a CD for storage.
Then if you need a new book, copy the library folder back from the CD, open it and order another book.

IPhoto Printing Services from pdf format?

I created a book in iPhoto 08 but it was deleted accidentally. I have Time Machine, but the the book under Project does not show up at all.
Fortunately, i have printed out a pdf version. Can I send the pdf to Apple to order the printing of photo book? Thanks.

a book is just a part of the iPhoto library - not something on its own in any way, just entries in the database that can be found or restored alone - so if you open TM in the dock and go back to when the book was there - select the iPhoto library and click restore (restore to the desktop so you do not overwrite your current library unless you want to totally go back to that library) and then depress the option key and launch iPhoto and select the restored library on the desktop - your book should be there
Apple does not print form PDFs according to their documentation - you could ask them - http://www.apple.com/support/photoservices/ordering_options/ - or use Google to look for other alternatives

Extracting pdf photos from pdf file

I have received a pdf file and it contains several photos. How do I extract the individual photos? I saw on this forum where you open the pdf file, select the photo and then do something, I can't remember and I can't find the post again. However, this file does not let me select the individual photo, only the entire file. Thanks, Susie

One way: Open the PDF in Adobe Reader, then select and drag each image to the Desktop.

Using image processor from RAW format to JPEG, the images are suddenly very muted colour, greyish tone, and just awful looking.

Any ideas as to why, when I am converting a group of images through image processor into JPEG, the resulting images are AWFUL. I have been using this process for years without a concern, and suddenly the JPEG files are very greyish, muted tones and just terrible looking… HELP! I'm WAY too busy right now to be dealing with this and having to manually save each image to JPEG

Which Color Space are the images in?
What are your Color Settings?
