Changed password, now neither one works

just changed my admin password and after I changed it a popup appeared that I exited out of without reading, saying I needed to do something in order for my new password to work; Now I can't use my old or new password to access things, I'm at college so I don't have access to the discs.
What did that popup say I needed to do?

What are you doing when it asks you for this? - if you previously set up the Airport with the Airport Utility, you were asked to enter a password so that you could edit your setup in the future - if you didn't enter one then the default password is "public" - it is not your network or modem/router password - let me know if this helps

If you change the email address associated with your Apple ID there are a number of places that have settings that need to be changed. One is in the Messages application. This article explains how to make those changes -

Look for the section titled Messages and under it Mac with OS X Mountain Lion or later.
Open the Messages app, select Messages > Preferences, then click the Accounts icon.
If you're signed out, click Accounts and sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.
If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID, click Accounts, then select your Apple ID from the list of accounts. Click Sign Out, then click Sign Out again when asked to confirm. Sign in with your updated Apple ID or password.

Try running several malware scanners to see if Kaspersky missed anything. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:

AirPort Extreme wireless was working fine until I tried to add the extreme to extend network range...now neither is working and I can't fix.

Help please? I got the Express yesterday and had it set up and working fine. However I found the signal and connection wasn't going far enough/fast enough for all areas of my home I wanted it to. Today I got the Extreme. I unplugged the Express, plugged in the Extreme and set up the new wireless network for that one just fine and it was working great. However, I still wasn't getting quite the connection/speed I wanted through out my house, so I tried to add the Express to extend the network I set up from the Extreme and now neither one is working. I tried resetting and starting over from the beginning but I can't even get just the Extreme to work by itself and am not sure what to do.

The following are the basic steps to configure an extended network with two 802.11n AirPort. Please take a look to check if anything was missed when you configured yours.
Dynamic WDS - Extending a Wireless Network Setup
If practical, place the base stations in near proximity to each other during the setup phase. Once done, move them to their desired locations.
Open AirPort Utility, and then, select the base station that will connect to the Internet.
Choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open the configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Click AirPort in the toolbar, and then, click Wireless.
Choose “Create a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then, select the “Allow this network to be extended” checkbox.
Next, select the base station that will extend this network, and then, choose Manual Setup from the Base Station menu, or double-click the base station to open its configuration in a separate window. Enter the base station password if necessary.
Choose “Extend a wireless network” from the Wireless Mode pop-up menu, and then, choose the network you want to extend from the Network Name pop-up menu.
Enter the base station network and base station password if necessary.
Click Update to update the base station with new network settings.

Downloaded an update for an app on my iPhone5s and 2 icons appear "greyed" out - neither one works!

After downloading an update to a Sochi Olympics app on my iPhone5s, 2 icons appeared on my screen and neither one works. They are both "greyed out" and not lit up like all the rest of the apps. When I held it down to "wiggle" it, there is no "X" in the upper-right corner. How do I fix this??

Have you check the following?
Verify that airplane mode is off by tapping Settings > Airplane Mode.
Reset the network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings
Ensure that your device is using the latest software.
If your issue is still unresolved, perform a software restore in iTune

Created Master Password, now neither User password or Master Password work

I've suspected somene to remotely hack into my Macbook because recently it would open finder windows for nothing. Then some of my Gmail mails disappeared so I decided to change password.
I headed to security and saw the "create Master Password" option so I entered my User password and created a Master Password.
Then when trying to change the user password to allow system preference change, the "old" user password didn't but the Master Password didn't either. I tried to then change this Master Password, but it's not working either. It's like my two password suddenly vanished when trying to secure my Mac!
Why? And how can I retrieve or change my passwords again?

Change Password with spaces not working

Hi,
I have configured password policy in OIM as Minimum length as 8
Min Numeric characters 6
Min Uppercase Characters 1
Special Character Minimum 1
Disallow last passwords 12
Now at the time of changing password it is accepting spaces in password and when we trying to log in with that password [password having spaces] it is not accepting and we are not able to log in with taht user

Tried to Change Password, now wireless doesn't work

I would love any assistance with this.
I used 192.168.1.1 (which my cimputer says is my ip address) to pull up the admin page. Went to wireless password and changed my password, clicked save. The page kept cycling like it was saving data for 30 minutes or so but the save bar wasn't moving, so I clicked out and rebooted my computer. That's when the problem started. I can't connect to the internet now using my wireless.
I cannot pull up the admin page at all. It just times out. I am connected to the internet with an Ethernet cable to my laptop. I have reset the router and unplugged it for 30 seconds. I have unplugged my modem as well and restarted my computer about 4 times now.
I think the new password was possibly saved. So I changed it under the network connection site key and rebooted, didn't work. So I changed it back to the original password.
What do I do?

Hard reset the router by holding the reset button in back for 30 seconds and release. Wait 30 seconds and power cycle the router. Connect via wired computer to 198.168.1.1 user name blank, password 'admin'. Now reconfigure the router manually.

Changed password now FaceTime is not working

Sign out of your ID in the settings and restart the iPad. Then sign in and try FaceTime again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Try FaceTime again.
If that doesn't work, turn FaceTime off, sign out, restart .. and start all over again. Settings>FaceTime>Off. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart, go back and turn on FaceTime, sign in and try again.

HT1386 It says to click the device button in the upper right corner....there isn't one. Itunes doesn't even recognize my devices since I did the most current update. I have two iPhones, thru different carriers, and neither one works now!

I did the latest iTunes update...I have 2 iPhones--each thru a different provider. Now, I can't sync to download any music from iTunes. iTunes doesn't recognize either device now. I went thru diagnostics, didn't work. I tried the suggestions from Apple...it says to click the device button in upper right corner....there isn't one. When I connected each for the first time after update, it "installed device drivers". I have checked for further updates on iTunes--nothing. I made sure there were no updates listed for iPhones...all up to date. I get an error code and from what I have looked through in forums etc, it seems like a lot of people are getting it...0ex000084 I believe it was. Windows opens to download photos but that's it. Devices are not listed at all. I have tried all 3 USB ports in computer too. I have never had any problems before this update!! HELP! I just bought $15 worth of music I can't download to phones now!

On the left hand side of iTunes do you have the sidebar up left hand side?
If this is not up then try this, with iTunes open press "Control" and "s" together and it should bring it up. From the sidebar it should show an option devices with the iPhones underneath it.

Mail has TWO servers, a sender and a receiver. Each has a password that is not necessarily the same as the other.
Inside Mail use the Window Menu to select Connection Doctor, to see which side is connecting and which side is failing. Then adjust the password on the side that is not working.
Don't count on the receipt of emails supposedly from you as the sender as an indication that your email Account has been hacked. More often, an Address Book on a distant computer of a school kid's mom or an eBay trading partner is the computer whose Address book has been stolen, with your email address in it. A spam generator then sends out thousands of fake emails, supposedly from you.

Changed password -now can't get mail

I recently changed my email password through the online control panel of my ISP. I can receive mail through their main site via my browser. But suddenly Apple Mail is unable to retrieve mail, although I have already changed the password in prefs and was able to retrieve mail for a few days after changing the password via the ISP. I read the post that suggested retrieving mail via the pulldown menu, but that hasn't worked.
The odd thing is that Apple mail was able to retrieve mail for a 2 days BEFORE I changed to the new password in prefs. Not sure how that worked. But it did retrieve mail AFTER I updated the password prefs-until now. I hope this is clear.

Try launching the Keychain Access utility, locating your e-mail password, and deleting it.

HT4798 I have not come across a system that forces you to keep changing passwords like this one, I log in using my i.d.and password and suddenly it is rejected so instead of re establishing it I have to choose another,this is crazy.

I have now had to change my p/word four times as apple i.d. keeps rejecting the current one after a while, there is no password recovery system anymore just a select new option which is tedeous and confusing.

I recently changed my Google Password and so I was getting the same message everytime my gmail tried to update on my phone. you would need to update the password on the account website, scroll down a bit it will allow you to update the password

Changing password using forms_ddl not working

I am building a custom logon screen that is similar to Metalink Document 30860.1. The form works fine until it encounters error "ORA-28001 password expired". When this occurs the user is moved to a different block (CHNG_PSSWRD) to change their password.
In the OK button on this block I use the forms_ddl command to alter the user's password, then logout and log back in using the new password. This is where the application fails. The forms_ddl built-in returns form_faliure=false however, the password does not change and when the code attempts to logon the user back on the form encounters error ORA:1017. I can verify this by logging into SQL*PLUS, the password is still expired.

This approach may not be the safest, as having a special account able to change other users passwords can bring important security considerations.
For example, suppose the user and password of that special account are "hard coded" in your application. That means you will not be able to change that password often. So, it will bee too easy to use a brute-force attac, to guess this password. After that, you could simply change the password of any user you want, and impersonate it. Of course, there are many other considerations to think of, but I'm sure you get the idea by now.
A much better approach could be to write a little program that receives username, old password, new password and connection as parameters, and uses the Oracle OCI API to change the password. Then you could simply call this little program from your application when needed, providing the right parameters, to do the trick.
I found a good sample of this in metalink note 52718.1, Handling Expired Passwords from within Forms (V4.5/5.0)
In this note, you'll find a little pro-c code to do just that. There is also another note (124970.1) with a little more complicated sample made in Java.
