location is on and icloud ( ios 5 )

Faces and Places not showing in photo app on iPad

Before when i first got my iPad I remember seeing the faces and places tabs on the top bar of the photo app but now when I open the app i can only see albums pictures and events. How do I get them back?

So I noticed the same thing you guys are talking about, and it has been driving me crazy. I have a mac mini, with ilife 08. v 7.1.5 i think. I do not have the places and faces in my iphoto. But I do have an android phone that has geotagging. I got photos off my android that were geotagged and put them in an album in iphoto. when I synced that event to my photos on my ipad. the places tab reappeared. The odd thing is, the photos that I originally saw in Places before it vanished are no longer tagged in the map, neither are some other photos that I took with my android that were supposedly geotagged. so no, you do not need only a mac, and no you do not ilife 09 for this to work. I am assuming it will be much easier with ilife 09, but i can life without this feature for $70. FYI. hope it helps

If you are seeing your photos in "Last Import", the photos are somewhere in your library. Perhaps the dates are wrong, and you do not see the photos arranged by date, where you expect them to be.
Select one of the photos on "Last Import", then ctrl-click it and select "Show in Event". That will take you to the event in event view.

Events and places not showing up on iPhone 4

Hi, I have recently purchased an iPhone 4 (iOS 4.1) and for some reason, events and places are not showing up on it. I restored the backup from my previous 3GS, where they were appearing as normal.
My iTunes is configured as this:
- Sync Photos from <iPhoto>
- Selected albums, events, and faces, and automatically include <events from the last 3 months>
- I have a few albums, events, and places checked
Has anyone experience this as well?

I upgraded from 7 to 11 and don't understand what happened to my event and place tags. Do I have to do all of that work again? Don't they just transfer as my people tags did?

In order to use the image on a web site, you must save it in a format that supports the transparent background. PSD, TIFF, PNG, PNG-24, GIF, EPS support transparency. JPG, BMP do not. Most likely you want GIF since this is supported by most web browsers.

How can I enable the Places and Faces Button in the Photos App?

There is no button in my Photos App which shows Faces or Places. What do I have to do? Do I need to install iPhoto first, and then enable Faces and Places there, in order to have it on the Photos App? I am using an iPad3 WIFI only.

You sync those folders from iPhoto on a Mac computer. Those are "built in" folders in the iPhotos app on a Mac. I don't use iPhoto for iOS, so I cannot comment on whether they exist in the app itself.
Those folders will sync automatically from iPhoto if they have been selected to sync in iTunes. You don't set them up on the iPad.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links in that part of the screen not clickable.

How can I combine the nav bar and menu bar on the same line to save space?

Firefox v29 seems to be a huge step backward in customization. I need to save space for content so previously I turned off tabs and combined the menu bar and nav bar on the same line. The url space is way too long anyway. Now with v29 all my customization is gone and I cannot get it back. I can no longer move items on the nav bar to combine it with the menu bar. Why was this done? It only limits my ability to customize my browser? I am very frustrated that you took a great browser and ruined it.

I get it that Firefox has changed, but the change is for the worse. It makes it impossible to customize menus as I had before v.29.

Why can't I enlarge safari bar and bookmarks bar so the print is larger. I can only do this if I change resolution on display. I do not want to make my 27" smaller. Any comments?

After just installing Mountain Lion on mid 2011 iMac 27" I find it does not allow increasing size of font for Safari bar and Bookmarks bar. The print is so small it is difficult to see. I can change resolution of screen but the the size of the screen becomes smaller. Not what I had in mind when I bought this iMac. Is there any fix out there and is Apple working on this problem? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.
