Changes in JDeveloper v 10.1.3.2

I have just upgraded from JDeveloper 9.0.5.2 to 10.1.3.2.
When working in the old version, .java files had a series of tabs at the bottom "Source", "Class", "Design", in the new version I don't have the Class tab witch has some very useful features like being able to declare fields and having it generate/regenerate accessor methods. The new version has tabs ""Source", Design, and "History".
Is the "Class" tab available in the new version and if so how do I turn this option on?
Thanks,
LP

10.1.3.x has a "Generate Accessors..." choice on the right-mouse context menu of the code editor to generate accessor for any member fields you choose.

How do I change the Jdeveloper font for the builtin file editor? I am a new user.
Also, how do I discover (on Linux) what Jdeveloper fonts are available?

    Thanks.
I found that font DejaVu LGC Sans with size 18 is almost good enough for me to use.
Unfortunately none of the fonts display well enough for me to use Jdev as a primary source editor on Linux.
Perhaps Jdev displays fonts more reasonably on Windows -- it is not acceptable to me on Linux.
I don't understand why the Courier font (and all other fonts too) I use on Linux for my standard code editor displays so much smoother than with Jdev which has all chars jagged.

  • Commited changes to cvs are not seen  on incomming changes in Jdeveloper

    Hi,
We are devlopping application on JDeveloper 10.1.3.4. We are using tortories cvs from jdeveloper. We had no problems for a while, everything worked fine(incoming changes and outgoing changes were properly seen on pending changes tab in jdev). Before a week ago we have been facing a strange problem. Although we have been commiting pages since then, incoming changes tab seemd to be empty.Outgoing changes are shown properly bu we cant see the incoming changes.
Even we reinstalled jdeveloper again nothing seemed to be changed. The problem continues. What can cause this problem? Is this a kind of bug? Or some configurations of jdev are lost?.
Any kind of help will be appriciated.
    Thank you

  • Error when trying to log in Jdeveloper

I am not using APPS user to create a DB Connection to JDeveloper and so i am receiving the following error:
    ORA-06550: line 1, Column 12: PLS:00201:identifier 'JDR_MDS_INTERNAL.GETREPOSITORYVERSION' must be declared
    Urgent: Getting 'JDR_MDS_INTERNAL.GETREPOSITORYVERSION' error
I would like to know based on the above thread link is there any limitation that we cannot create a DB Connection in JDEV unless we use APPS user ??
In companies where developers are restricted not to use APPS how can they use JDeveloper tool there ???
    Please advise...
    Edited by: user12011641 on Mar 28, 2013 7:52 AM

If you dont have APPS access on database, even you should not be allowed to make changes using Jdeveloper. Now Jdeveloper is used to create forms and business objects which would either query or update the tables. Not having access/grants would restrict you from doing anything in Jdeveloper (no query, no updates etc). This is one of the reasons, I think, due to which Jdeveloper doesn't allow to function without APPS user.

  • Unable to change ESB Soap Service endpoint

    Hi people , i have a problem,
after creating a soap service , register de esb service on DefaultSystem, i want to call externally using
    "http://host:port/esb/wsil/DefaultSystem/<name of soap service>?wsdl
everithing works ok , but when i try to change from Jdeveloper the enpoint URL , ESB seems to keep using the old URL in :
    http://host:port/event/DefaultSystem/<name of soap service>?WSDL ..
If i check on esb control i can se the new "WSDL URL" on the Definition tab of this soap service. But internally in the WSDL generated by the ESB endpoint it keeps using the OLD URL
    causing obviously a:
"SOAPException: Message send failed: Connection refused"
if i make that resource unavailable after the change
The question is .. why i cant change the endpoint url ????
theres is any WSDL cache or something like in Oracle BPEL PM ??
i need to restart (i dont try yet )
please ill wait for any suggestions
PS: im using ESB 10.1.3.3.0 Build:PCBPEL_10.1.3.3.0_GENERIC_070615.0525

    Hi
I have similar problems and nobody seems to know the solution. Changing the virtual host and port in ESB console does not resolve the problem thoroughly. It's changing the end point entry but living the namespace URL of the WSDL with old value, for instance my address was: http://localhost.localdomain:8889/ .....servicename?WSDL.
This prevents it from proper invoking by external clients, you can reach the end point and use the test page but you can't read its wsdl file without adjusting its address by hand.
I found one solution, it's reinstalling the OAS from scratch and pass the proper name of the server when prompted but what the kind of solution is that? This is obviously deployment problem, the original wsdl file prepared in JDeveloper is used to generate the final wsdl file exposed to external clients but which is the configuration file responsible for that and why the esb console don't change the namespace url too while changing end point?
This is the bug indeed because it's impossible to resolve from console level.

    Thanks for any help.

I'm new to jdeveloper, in fact, I come from the database side and wanted to see how 'easy' it might be to develop an application using ADF. So I really don't know much about Java. I changed the jdeveloper path from C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper to C:/Oracle/middleware/jdeveloper and the schema build script then worked. So even though I am using a Microsoft OS, we always use forward slash instead of backward slash? OK. This is good to know.

  • Steps to setup JDeveloper 9i to modify and test the iPayment servlets

    Hi,
I am working on modification to iPayments module of EBS Release 11.5.9. We need to modfiy part of code in Paymentech BEP (Back End Payment) servlet.
Could anyone please let me know the steps to setup JDeveloper 9i to modify the servlet code, test and debug the changes from JDeveloper. It would be really helpful if you could point me to some document which has the details of the process.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks,
    Navadeep

    Navadeep,
Short answer: I don't have such a document, nor do I know where to find one.
Since most of the people who regularly monitor and post to this forum don't work with the E-Business suite (at least not iPayment) - I don't feel you'll get a good response here. I hope someone can prove me wrong. The best place to find this information is the E-Business Suite forums or perhaps Metalink.
Furthermore, I don't believe that Oracle supports modifying the supplied iPayment servlets. So, I think Metalink is the right place for you to start.

  • CVS problem (freezing) with JDeveloper

Using JDeveloper 9.0.5.1 build 1605, i am having a real weird problem with cvs. cvsnt has been installed in both my laptop and server. When connecting to local cvs server everything is fine. but when i try to connect to a remote server, suddenly the computer freezes. the freezing goes on for about 10 seconds, then everything gets back to normal, and after 5 seconds or so, everything freezes again. this goes on till i kill jdeveloper process.
the freezing goes on for a while after i kill it, but it goes away after that. but after that all my networking goes weird, and i can no longer ping the cvs server.
using eclipse, and tortoise from windows explorer i can connect to remote server without problems. i am using pserver, and my os is windows xp pro with sp2. I have also tried preview version of jdeveloper, but the symptoms are the same, even if i choose to use the cvs version that comes with jdeveloper or use the one from the environment vars (path)
so has anyone experienced such a problem? any help would be appraciated a lot.
    Best Regards
    Seref Arikan

    Hi,
Just a few questions to try and track down why this is happening.
Which version of cvsnt are you using, could you paste the output of cvs --version into this thread?
Do you have a large repository? JDeveloper did have some problems with cvs support being over chatty when trying to find incoming changes. JDeveloper was making more connections to the cvs server than were being cleared up effectively DOSing the cvs repos.
10.1.3 Production should have fixed this, could you give it a try?
It sounds like something is stopping network connections from being freed.
    Thanks,
    Geoff

  • JDeveloper extension : JDevLibsForAnt

    hi
I would like to be able to use Ant to compile and package my code, but I don't want to maintain libraries in two places, JDeveloper and Ant.
My first approach was to call JDeveloper from Ant using a custom JDeveloper extension that provides an MBean to "access" the JDeveloper extension API.
    http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/CallJDevApps-v0.01.zip
Although it "works", it is intended to be used from within JDeveloper.
My second approach was to have a custom JDeveloper extension automatically maintain an Ant build file on each library change in JDeveloper. This Ant build file can than be imported into another Ant build file.
    http://verveja.footsteps.be/~verveja/files/oracle/JDevLibsForAntApps-v0.01.zip
Although this does what I want, I have a few questions:
    (1) What is the preferred way to get the "outputDirectory" of a Project (see LibrariesProjectChangeListener$MyJProjectPaths)?
    (2) How can I get notified of changes to my custom project options (see JDevLibsForAntOptionsPanel and LibrariesProjectChangeListener.isChangeLibraryRelated())?
All suggestions for improvement are welcome.
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

I was interested to read your dialogue because I too am trying to use Ant to automate the build and deployment of JDeveloper projects. I have to say that I'm a total newcomer to JDeveloper, Ant and Java, so much of what you're saying is way above my head!
I've achieved some degree of success with BPEL modules, mainly by using a <for> task to iterate over the build.xml files created by JDeveloper. However I'm coming unstuck with the non-BPEL bits; I know what keystrokes are required to tell JDeveloper how to do the job manually, but I have very little clue about what goes on under the bonnet when I initiate a deployment, so replicating it in my Ant project is well-nigh impossible; furthermore the build.xml files produced by JDeveloper for the non-BPEL stuff all seem to stop short of actually doing the deployment - either to a server or to jar/war/ear files.
I then came across the JDeveloper Ant task <jdev> at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/anttasks/index.html
which sounded as though it might help. However I encountered some difficulty in getting it to do anything useful other than simply firing up JDeveloper, so I am currently having a dialogue with its author, Gerard Davison at Oracle, to try and get some help. He also suggested a tool called ojmake, which is available in the jdev/bin directory of the Technology Preview for 11, which I've also tried playing with, but I can't get it to work in JDev 10.
Does anybody out there have any knowledge either of the <jdev> Ant task or ojmake, or of any other tools that might help in this situation?

  • Deploying SOA composite from Jdeveloper: 11g

When I try to deploy a modified SOA project from JDeveloper, it is trying to connect to the soa_server1 using SSL. Since SSL is not configured in my test environment, I get an error saying Connection refused. Is there a setting I can change so JDeveloper does not automatically try to deploy my project over SSL?

were you able to compile the composite successfully ? If that is successful, while deploying from JDeveloper; make sure you have checked the checkbox "Overwrite". There are possibilities that version 1.0 is already been deployed and you trying to deploy again with the same version without checking the overwrite option. Also, you can try is, deploy the SAR file from the EM console.
    Hope this helps

  • Synchronization problem prevents blue print import into JDeveloper

JDeveloper BPEL Model Chooser thinks "there are pending changes proposed by IT", but back in Business Process Architect there are no improvement proposals, nor tasks of system in the database. So far as I recall, I made no changes on the IT side.
BPELExport, line 10: There are pending changes proposed by IT which have not been accepted or rejected by Business user. Please have the Business user take appropriate action. (BPELExport#10)

    Hi,
AFAIK there are two possibilies that cause this issue:
    a) You tried to save IT-Changes from JDeveloper back into the BPA Repository and for some reason this step couldn't be finished.
    b) You copied and pasted a model within BArchitect (as described in the QuickstartGuide - chapter 8).
In 10.1.3.4 when IT updates a model, a copy in the same directory gets created (with a "(1)" at the end of the name) to not mess up the original one. When a model opens and it finds another model in the group with the same GUID it assumes IT has done this. In that case delete the copy and you should be able to progress. If you can't please create a new empty model and copy paste the content (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V) from the original to the new one. After this you should be able to create a new BPEL-project from blueprint and so on. I hope you didn't put too much effort on the technical side (JDev).
    Best regards,
    Danilo

  • Working with the CSS in JDeveloper 11g

    Hi All,
I am working on the CSS of the JSF and the ADF Components in JDeveloper11g.
When adding the components it is generating the css for those component dynamically .
When seeing the CSS file Iam unable to understand for which component this particular css is getting affected.
How can I get a clear Idea of how to work with the css of the JDeveloper 11g Components are there any jar files that are generating this css.
    Please help me out.
    Thanks
    Madhavi.

    Hi,
the use of CSS hasn't change between JDeveloper 11 and 10.1.3. You have two options:
    1) create an external CSS file that uses ADF Faces skin selectors and configure it as a skin to ADF Faces
    2) Use the inlineStyle property of the components to customize the look and feel
    See 10.1.3 documentation:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/skin-selectors.html

  • JDeveloper subversion client not compatible with SVN 1.7

    Hi everyone!
It seens that after updating my Working Copy to svn 1.7 using latest TortoiseSVN version impacted at JDeveloper versioning
    features.
Now I don't see the icons of SVN changes inside JDeveloper and any income or outcome in Pending Changes window.
The biggest change of 1.7 Working Copy's is that there is only one .svn folder that controls the whole repository instead of one .svn folder
for each folder commited. Seens that JDeveloper doesn't recognize this kind of Working Copy.
I tried to copy the latest version of SVNKit to my jdeveloper\jdev\extensions\oracle.jdeveloper.subversion but doesn't seen to work too.
Anyone got a 1.7 repository working with JDeveloper???
    I'm using Windows 7 SP1, TortoiseSVN 1.7 and JDeveloper 11.2.1 with JDK 1.6.29 64bits.
    Thanks!

    Hello
We need to look at what is involved in doing the upgrade. I am aware that Subversion 1.7 working copy format is different from 1.6 so we need see how this will impact JDeveloper.

  • URGENT : JDEVELOPER 10.1.3 and customizing Oracle e-Business suite

URGENT: Can any one advice me with any pointers on how to open/customize the Pages (Oracle e-business suite pages related Developer 9.x ) using JDeveloper 10.1.3 (ADF framework).
    1. JDeveloper 10.1.3 supports JSPX and other pages and deploy those pages into server. Where as JDeveloper 9.x stores those pages in Database (for Oracle E-business suite) as Regions.

  • Oracle BPA change management

    Hello,
Our customer wants to have full business process management cycle - from modeling to executing. So they want to model processes in Oracle BPA and to execute them in Oracle BPEL PM. That is why they decided to create BPEL process models in BPA, export them to BPEL files, make necessary changes in JDeveloper and deploy processes to Oracle BPEL PM.
But there is a question about change management in BPA.
Let's say, we have a BPEL process model diagram, which was exported into executable BPEL file and used in JDeveloper for development. After some time we decide to change our BPEL diagram in BPA. As I understand, there are no relationships between Oracle BPA and Jdeveloper, so if we export this updated BPEL diagram into executable than we have to make changes to the executable BPEL by ourselves?
    Victor

    Hi Paul,
bi-directional change management is available since BPA/JDev R11. You can mainly achieve the following:
    1. Send BPMN from BPA Suite to JDev/BPEL and enriech it later there
    2. Reverse engineering from an existing BPEL process into BPA Suite as BPMN
    3. Send a change request over from BPA Suite to JDev/BPEL and review/accept it there
    4. Send a change request over from JDev/BPEL to BPA Suite and review/accept it here.
Please send me your email address to receive details on these processes, my email address you can get out of my profile.
