Changes in msdb Table

I did not try yet and don't know whether it will work or not.
can I perform DDL operation on msdb table ?

Why not add a seperate customized table for your purpose and use it for your development activity?

Editable ALV-No change in internal table

Hello Experts,
   I have an ALV output, in which I have a column as editable. I have generated the output using 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'. I got to know that after changing the editable cell's value, if we double click the cell or if operate with any PF-status components, the value will automatically get changed in internal table also. For double click I am getting the expected result. But If I click a button the value doesn't get changed in internal table. Is there any other change I have to do for this. If I have checkbox in ALV will it be rectified. But my requirement is when I click the button only It has to be modified in the database table.

How do I make a JTable's header sorting actually change the actual table?
Currently, I'm using
table.setAutoCreateRowSorter(true);to allow the user to sort the table.
However, I want to be able to load something based on the selected row's index. The problem is that when the table is rearranged, the change appears to only be local, in other words, the actual table isn't changing.
For instance:
index 0 "A"
index 1 "B"
index 2 "C"
Sorted in reverse gives me
"C"
"B"
"A"
But C is still index 2 (instead of 0).

How to populate change from one Table cell to more Tables??

How to track changes on the table not using triggers

Hi,
I would like to track DML changes on the tables. As I have many tables it is not efficient to write triggers.
Is there any setup I can do at database level.
I am using 11g R2.

would this create a replica table with old changesflashback database is to set the current data like in the past. I mean:

Is it possible to change Overridden Qualified Table Name in code?

Hi,
Environment: Crystal Reports XI R2, 2008, Sql Server 2005
I had about 1000 reports to change. Several changes are the standard, so i had created several tools that i use to make that change in all reports.
However i can't find a way to change Overridden Qualified Table Name and remove the Catalog and Owner information, so it seems that the only way is using CR editor and make these changes one by one... not a good idea!
Does anyone managed to do this???

Thanks for your input.
I use CR in two ways: 
a) to develop reports to use in our projects - In this case we don't have major issues with this, and we chance the location of the database in code at runtime; 
b) to develop reports to use in ERP softwares from third parties - and here we are having some issues - not always but some times. 
We know that they change the location of the DB in code also (no specific info however). 
An example:
We change a report on my development PC, against a DB called TEST; 
We send the report to the customer, who runs it on its system, trying to read data from a db XYZ; 
If the customer also has a TEST db, in some reports the system reads some tables from XYZ, but others he gets the info from TEST db. In one example our customer has an invoice where all data was from the production DB, except the COUNTRY table that was read from a copy of the TEST db. After TEST was removed, the data was read from the production DB.... 
And to get you an idea: we're talking about hundreds of customers - some of them have 600 SQL DBs in the same server (small Dbs, around 70/500 MB in size) - so we can only hope that the user doesn't create a DB with the same name we used to develop the report... 
And what i don't understand is WHY we can define Overridden Qualified Table Name in same tables, and not in others. 
Example: 
One of the reports has 6 sub-reports. 
I can define Overridden Qualified Table Name in the main report (except for a View), and in 2 of the subreports - but not in the other 4... 
The zero in front of the table name shows a table where Overridden Qualified Table Name has been defined, and the original Catalog and Owner was removed - the 2 shows a table where Overridden Qualified Table Name has been defined, but the original catalog (PRITESTEDOC75) and owner (dbo) remains. 
I even tried to export the sub-reports, change this info in the sub-report, and then import it again (a suggestion from Business Object support), but it doesn't work...

How to Divert the changes to cdhdr table instead of dbtablog?

I am new to this forum. i got a job in abap recently. The below is my requirement.I want solution for this one. Anybody plz help me.
I am having ztransaction.
The change logs already were captured in DBTABLOG for table ZWPRFRUND (in transaction ZWPG).
The only report which is currently used to get the change logs is RSVTPROT
Now my requirement is,
we need to display the change logs in the form of ALV.
We should divert the changes to CDHDR table instead of DBTABLOG, then we can use the RSSCD100 to display change logs.
The Important items for the change LOG needed in case of changes to table in ZWPG are,DATE ,TIME,USER,FIRST NAME,FILED NAME,OLD VALUE,NEW VALUE
The above fields need to be displayed in the grid. In the above list FIELD NAME denotes any field of the table in the transaction in ZWPG

How to save changes in a Table?

Hi Experts,
I have included my own component into an SAP component as an assigment block. My component shows a table (Table Context Node). I have made some columns editable. However, when I try to make changes in this table, after pushing the Enter Button, the chaged values is being replaced by the old value.
I have set
rv_disabled = 'FALSE'.
in my GET_I_<attribute name> method. I guess there are other things to do..?
How can I make and save changes in my table?

I just saw that in Method IF_BOL_BO_PROPERTY_ACCESS~SET_PROPERTY , the condition:
if ME->IS_CHANGEABLE( ) = ABAP_TRUE and
LV_PROPS_OBJ->GET_PROPERTY_BY_IDX( LV_IDX ) ne IF_GENIL_OBJ_ATTR_PROPERTIES=>READ_ONLY.
is skipped (coding in IF statement is skipped)..
I think the IS_CHANGEABLE( ) thing is "true", but
IF_GENIL_OBJ_ATTR_PROPERTIES=>READ_ONLY
is set..
Where/ how can I set/ reset this? I have had a look around and did not find anything..

Problem in changing the internal table contents of a standard program

Dear All,
I am making changes to internal table LT_PPDIT of standard program SAPLHRPT in the user exit EXIT_SAPLACC4_001 while payroll posting to accounting with tcode PC00_M99_CIPE. But though the changed value of LT_PPDIT is visible within the exit still the value of LT_PPDIT when we come outside exit is the same as what was before entering exit.
Please suggest is there any way of modifying internal table of a standard program in the user exit.

Hi,
I think the internal table is getting refreshed or something like that after the user exit.
Try debugging after the user exit and put breakpoints at clear and modify statements.
Then you ll find out where its regaining the oringinal value after getting changes.
After locating that point try finding some enhancmenent point there and including your code so that your value of internal able gets modified.

I want to change colour of tables and regions of oracle standard pages.One way to do it is that I can add code for tables and regions CSS definitions in for each page in correspoding CO,which is not feasible since we have large number of COs in standard pages.I heard that oracle has provided some method to change look and feel of the pages.If anybody knows about it ,plz do let me know.

CHANGE_TRACKING_MIN_VALID_VERSION keeps changing even there are no changes in that table

Hi,
We use stored procedure like below to get the data on intial load as well as subsequent changes. The underllined part of the stored procedure to get the last_sync_version is slightly different from what Microsoft has suggested. (not using CHANGE_TRACKING_CURRENT_VERSION).
That is because we download data to staging from multiple sources and from their we want to process data from one source at a time (DATA_SOURCE_KEY filter).
What we notice is that, when there is no data for a table for sometime, once the change tracking gets purged for that table, we keep hitting the condition @LastVersionId <@MinVersionId. The MIN_VALID_VERSION keeps changing even though there is no change
in that table. Looks like the MIN_VALID_VERSION is a global number and not specific to a table. Is there a problem with the way we are getting the @Next_Version. Can we use the CHANGE_TRACKING_CURRENT_VERSION even though we want to download subset of data
from the table (only records matching for one data_source_key at a time). Appreciate your answers.

My first observation is that you don't reraise the error in the CATCH handler. That is bad, because it makes the proceedure fail silently which may be very difficult to troubleshoot.
The version numbers for Change Tracking are indeed database-global. MIN_VALID_VERSION can be different for different tables, if they have different retention periods. But if they all have the same retention period, it seems likely that MIN_VALID_VERSION
would increase as the database moves on.
I'm not sure about your question Can we use the CHANGE_TRACKING_CURRENT_VERSION even though we want to download subset of data from the table (only records matching for one data_source_key at a time). Where would you use it? How would you use
it?

As with business objects, we recommend that you activate the logging of changes to table data for those tables that are critical or susceptible to audits. (See the SAP Audit Guidelines R/3 FI, in Section 4.3.5, for examples of important tables. This document is available at
http://www.sap.com/germany/aboutSAP/revis/infomaterial.asp. You must also explicitly activate this logging. Note the following:
· You must start the SAP System with the rec/client profile parameter set. This parameter specifies whether the SAP System logs changes to table data in all clients or only in specific clients. We recommend setting this parameter to log all clients in your productive system.
· In the technical settings (use transaction SE13), set the Log data changes flag for those tables that you want to have logged.
If both of these conditions are met, the database logs table changes in the table DBTABPRT. (Setting the Log data changes flag only does not suffice in recording table changes; you must also set the rec/clientparameter.)
You can view these logs using the transaction SCU3.
Although we do deliver pre-defined settings, you generally have to modify them to meet your own requirements. Use the report RSTBHIST to obtain a list of those tables that are currently set to be logged. Use transaction SE13 to change the Log data changes flag for these or other tables.

Cannot Make changes directly to table's field data

I need to make changes to table e.g ekko but when I enter table, the change option is in display mode and I cannot make direct changes to the table. I need to update some data in a field. I checked other tables as well, but all have change option as display.
Is there any settings required to get the table in change mode?

I dont understand what to do in point 1, how to generate view of table, can you make it little easier to follow. I tried database table i.e. ekko and when I click change it asks access key, which I dont have as I guess I have to get it from SAP..

I depends on what and where you need to do .
If you have to change only two records I don't create a table maintenance view, but I change directly the records.
You can try my solution if you're PROD or write a little code as someone has suggested if you're in DEV.
But if you'll often change some value of that table, it should be better to creare a view for SM30.
If you want to do that use an your own Z function group.
While creating the view if function group doesn't exist, the system creates it before generating the view.
