Changes in OA framework page

Hi...
1) I have one OA framework page.It is using switcher element in one of the column.
2) I have to personalize the page and add new column.
3) How to add switcher in new column.
4) Can it be done by personalizing the page.
Or it has to be done in PG region in Jdeveloper. If so then do I have to make changes in same Pg region or I have to create new Pg region with same field and then add new column in this new pg region.
5) If so then how to deploy new pg region.
Thanks in Advance

You should not make a copy of the page, but use personalization and/or extensions to do this. The only way I see you can achieve this is to extend the base table controller if one present or write a new controller and attach it to the table and in the processRequest add code to attach a switcher to it. You can use jdeveloper to create a swicther and deploy it so you can directly use the createWebBean signature which uses the mdsReference. This way the swicther region will be available for personlization later. You need to use personlization and attach the new controller or the extended controller. Remember to call super if you are extending the controller.

  • Default Framework page Isolation method changed

    We changed the Isolation method to URL instead of embedded on all of the iviews in the Default Framework page.
    Now we cannot view the Portal Content Directory.  Is there any method to fix this by going to a URL.
    We tried - http://myServer:50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/administrator/content_admin/worksets/com.sap.portal.content_admin_ws/com.sap.portal.content_admin_wsExplorer and it did not work.
    Thanks in advance,
    D. Maupin

    Hi,
    You can resolve by using the steps below:
    1. Create a transport package for the Default framework page  in a system where the properties are correct . Export the epa file and save locally
    2. Login to the Portal where the properties have been messed up.
    3. On the same Browser window change the URL to
    http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.pcd.admintools.import.default
    This should open the Import Transport application
    4. Import the local transport .
    5. Logout and login again to the portal.

  • Importing framework page layouts

    Hello,
    I am trying to configure a portal frame work page myself. I have created the necessery iViews such as MastHead, toplevel navigation etc and pages. <i><b>Now i need to assign tghe portal framework layouts such as "Light Navigation Panel & Content Area Layout" or "Frame work page layouts for light portals" etc.</b></i>
    I searched for the same in Layout templates folder. But i could find only the default layouts such as 1 Column(full Width), 2 Columns (Equal width)etc
    When i tried to create a new layouts from PAR, i coud only find the default layouts par file. <b>Where could i get these PAR files?</b>
    <b>How can import these portal layouts</b>
    Kindly help,
    Regards,
    Sudheesh

    Hi Sudheesh,
    You can create your own Page layout file using this <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sapportals.km.docs/documents/a1-8-4/How%20to%20Create%20a%20New%20Portal%20Desktop.zip">zip file</a>.
    To create a new framework page import the par file into your Netweaver Developer studio. You will find the foll: jsp's dynNavArea.jsp,framework.jsp and WAandNavPanel.jsp. You can change the jsp's and deploy it again which will overwrite the default one. Or you can rename the package and the par file to create a new one and create a new framework page without changing the default one.
    This <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/1324">weblog</a> will also help you.
    Hope this helps.

  • How does oracle know which AO Framework page or process to execute.

    Hi,
    How does oracle know which AO Framework page or process to execute. I use to think this was defined in the Function definition. But looking through some Function definition in HRMS setup I noticed some of them simply calling the same first page, such as the one below used in many managers menus. This initial page is the page that allows managers to choose the employee they want to work on.
    OA.jsp?akRegionCode=HR_PERSON_TREE_TOP_SS&akRegionApplicationId=800.
    My question is, after executing this initial page, how does Oracle then varies the OA page by the diffferent functions?

  • Performance Light Framework page and R/3 transactions

    Hello,
    I have a customer running an enterprise portal 6.0 containing basically R/3 transaction iViews.
    Some of the users of this solution are using fairly low bandwidth and are complaining about performance problems.
    My question is whether there is anything to gain from switching to the light framework page, or is the loading of the R/3 transaction the main bottleneck.
    Has anyone made an estimate of the performance gains obtained by using the light framework page over the standard ones?
    I have just found one such estimate on this forum, indicating a size improvement of almost a magnitude of 8 (100K vs 800K) (thread: portal performance optimization over low speed links)

    Here is the text that explains the disappointing restriction in the release of External Facing Portal with KM in NW04s SP5 and NW04 SP14.
    NOTE 709354 relevant snippet below>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
    Release with restrictions
    Knowledge Management in external facing portals
    Knowledge Management is released in a restricted way for scenarios where the external facing portal capabilities of NW'04 SP 14 are used (i.e. reducing the network load by using the 'light framework page' concept of the portal): - KM iViews will work within the light framework page without erros. However, the network load will not be decreased since the navigation within the KM iViews requires the full range of scripts to be downloaded  from the portal. - Browser Back/Forward navigation within KM will not work in all cases - Indexing of KM content by external search engines (Google, etc.) will not work on all content In addition, the general usage of KM in scenarios where untrusted (e.g. with a self-registered user ID) or anonymous users are accessing an external facing portal is recommended in a restricted way only to avoid upload of malicious files or code (e.g. disable file upload or discussion forum entries). This recommendation is true even if the 'light framework page' concept of NW'04 SP14 is NOT used. For more information on how to enable KM (and Collaboration) for anonymous users, please refer to the following notes. SAP NetWeaver '04 SP11 and below: Note 728106. SAP NetWeaver '04 SP12 and higher: Note 837898.

    Hi Johan,
    You are right !
    Do you have modified the framework.jsp ? e.g:  set the width to 800 .
    <lyt:template>
    <%
    pageRunMode = epPageVariables.getRunMode();
    if(pageRunMode == RunMode.RUN_TIME){
    %>
        <script>
            document.body.style.margin=0;
            document.body.scroll = "no";
        </script>
    <%}%>
        <hbj:content id="myContext" >
            <hbj:page title="Portal Page">
            <hbj:gridLayout   id="GridLayout1"  width="800" cellSpacing="0">

            </hbj:gridLayout>
            </hbj:page>
        </hbj:content>

    Is this code right to change the with of frameworkpage to 800 pixels ?

  • Calling portal framework page from non portal page

    Hi,
    We are having some difficulty in passing control from the non portal pages to
    the Portal Pages.
    To explain you more elaborately, I am writing down the scenario:
    Both our portal and non portal pages reside under the same web application folder.
    We have a Portal Page containing one portlet.Clicking on one of the hyperlink
    on this portlet page takes us out of the portal environment where we are doing
    some processing.
    (Why we are going out of the portal environment is because we want to call the
    existing pages as it is and our intention is not to make the existing pages portal
    enabled to start with).
    Somewhere down the journey on the non portal page, there is a requirement to call
    the Portal Framework page.
    We can call the portal Framework page from the non portal page by hard coding
    the URL of the Portal page by writing something like this in href:
    http://localhost:7501/application?origin=content.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.portlet.event&pageid=home&portletid=bachome_carsearchlink&wfevent=link.next
    But this is not what we want. We want to call the portal page without hard coding
    the URL.
    If we use portlet tag in non portal page to call the Portal Framework page ( <a
    href="<portlet:createWebflowURL event="link.next"/>">Next Page</a>), it throws
    us error "Could not find current Portlet State" which is quite understandable,
    because portlet state is now lost.
    Is there any way we can achieve this .
    Any suggestions or ideas?

    Ajay

    Hi
    i think you should use portal:createPortalPageChangeURL (you are effectively changing
    your portal page) .
    if you want to invoke a specific event in your portlet webflow you can either
    write a RefreshControllerIP or use WebflowJSPHelper.createWebflowURL.
    bear in mind if you have urls that directly go to an intermediate event in the
    portlets webflow you may need

  • BP for Modifying Framework Pages

    can someone tell me what the best practice for changing portlet display is? for
    instance, i would like some portlets NOT to display a title bar at all and for
    some portal pages to NOT show a tab, but still be accessible.
    i am considering using a naming standard (i.e., hidden_PageName and notitlebar_PortletName)
    so that i can modify the framework pages to look for these prefixes and show/not
    show titlebars, show/not show tabs.
    is there a better way? i don't see anything in the portal that allows one to do
    these two things as configuration
    thanks

    Don't know about 4, but in 7 i just edited portlet.jsp to look for "notitlebar_"
    in the front of the portlet's name when it's rendering titlebars, banners, etc.
    i suppose you could just set the title bar url to be a blank html page, didn't
    think of that in time!
    That wouldn't help you in the example of hiding tabs though, unless you used a
    blank , 1 pixel image

    Hey Jack,
    At least in Portal4.0, if you didn't want a portlet to have a titlebar,
    in EBCC
    you need to specify the portlets titlebar to titlebar_blank.jsp. I think
    it was
    a bug(?) in portal that it didn't allow you to use a null value here.
    So there
    is actually some code in the FW pages that check if titlebar value is
    titlebar_blank
    and if it is, it does not render it.

  • 11.5.10.2 - Custom Framework Pages

    Hello.
    We will soon be designing extensions to existing framework pages, and creating brand new ones. We have our development methods well established for other objects such as forms and reports. We use a version control production and a migration tool for our change management of those well established objects.
    For example, we can migrate a form from one instance to another and the tool will copy and compile the form into the destination instance with a shell script.
    The question is this: How can we automate the migration and installation of framework customizations from one instance to another using scripting? Has anyone done this? Suggestions?
    Thank you.

    Sharath,
    Yes there is a way to give popup using javascript.
    You have to create a rawtextbean(which will hold the javascript/html code) then you can invoke the javascript depending upon your logic.
    Check this mukul's blog for sample code,
    http://mukx.blogspot.com/2007/07/javascript-in-oa-framework.html
    Thanks.

  • How to edit Framework Page

    Hello!
    I have some question:
    I copy Default Framework page, but I don't understand how to edit it content?
    When right-click on my framework, only "Open->Delta Link Tracer" and "Change ID" opens..

    Hi Paul,
    I assume that you tried to edit your copied frameworkpage in the "Portal Display". There you can't edit it.
    You have to go to the pcd (Content Administration -> Portal Content) and can then edit your copied frameworkpage (because it is principally also just a page, like other pages in the pcd).
    Hope it helps.
