  • Data Load Rules file - Conditional load

    Hi,
I need to create a data load rules file to load sales data. The data comes at product, entity, month, year, version, scenario, account level. I need to load data only towards two of the entities, NCC and NCCCBU, i.e if the product is coming under a particular hierarchy called UK then it needs to get loaded against NCC entity member and if the product is under the CBU hierarchy it needs to be loaded against the NCCCBU entity.
All of the data comes in the same file so I need to load it in one go without splitting the file into two.
    Thanks
    Vikash

    You can achieve this.
In the data load rule when you are mapping the entity column.
    set the propperties like this:
    Field properties -> Global Prpoperties
    Replace with
    UK NCC
    CBU NCCCBU
Field properties -> Data Load Prpoperties
Map the column with entity dimension.

  • How to enter TEXT data using rules files

    Hi,
How can i enter text data using rules files?
    Thanks,
    A

If you are talking about planning members with a text data type then it is not possible to load the actual text string using a load rule, essbase just stores a numeric value and the text string relating to that numeric value is stored in the planning applications relational tables.
If you want to load text directly then you can load data through the planning layer, more information available at - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_admin/ch05s02s01.html

  • Loading data through rule files in Essbase

    Hi everyone,
I really need help because something that I don't understand is happening when I am loading data through a rule files that I have created in Essbase. In the "Field Properties" of that rules files, I added few accounts in the "Global Properties" that I wanted to be replaced by others when I perform the load since I had troubles with the hierarchy of my accounts. My problem is that I have 3 accounts that I cannot add when I am loading my data and I don't understand why. By example, in my data extract file, I want to add the account : 601820SN60005 but since it doesn't exist in my Dimension Library I changed my rule file. I add the following propertie : Replace 601820SN60005 with 601820, so the system should put the data in that account instead. But it's not what'S happening. When I perform my load, the log tells me that the member 601820SN60005 does not exist in the database which is true but it seems that the propertie I had is not working. The load should work property. Is it possible that my rules files is corrupted? Or anything else?
Please give me a clue of what's happening here because I really don't understand!
    Thanks a lot!

I will just pipe in with the mostly worthless comment that doing any kind of ETL within a load rule is really not the world's best idea. Could you do your transformations in the source? There is this fantastic language called "SQL" that allows all kinds of cool data manipulations. Oracle even sells this product called ODI that I hear is just dandy for ETL work. :)
A slightly more useful suggestion -- it's really tough to view all of the various transformations in a load rule, as you have found to your sorrow. Did you know you can print the load rule and get all of the transformations? I use it all the time when a client hasn't listened to my whine about not doing ETL in a load rule.

  • Is there a way to change the Digitised Date for Mov files in Lightroom?

I am scanning some old photos.  Unfortunately Programs such as Dropbox and OneDrive display Mov files by their digitised Date.
Consequently, My scanned photos are shown by the date that I scanned them. I can not seem to find anyway in LightRoom to change the Digitised Date so that they are shown on OneDrive/Dropbox in the correct order on my iPad.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Your subject line says "Mov files" (which are video files), but your message talks about scanning old photos.  I'll address the old photos issue.
Because there are so many dates/times associated with photos, and because every program feels free to use its own names, it's critical to be pedantically precise about terminology. The date/time a photo was originally taken (when the shutter was pressed) is called Date/Time Original or Capture Date. The date/time a photo was transferred to digital media is called Date/Time Digitized (when the analog file was scanned or when the digital-camera shutter was pressed).
A good rule of hygiene is to ensure every photo has a Date/Time Original (capture date).  Typically only digital archivists care about maintaining Date/Time Digitized.  If you ensure that every photo has a Date/Time Original, then pretty much any modern app and Web site will order your photos correctly.
In LR, you set Date/Time Original using the Metadata > Edit Capture Time command.  By default, LR won't write the capture time back to the file's metadata, so depending on how you are transferring photos to other programs, the capture time won't necessarily get transferred.  So you either need to do Metadata > Save Metadata To File, or better, set the option Catalog Settings > Metadata > Automatically Write Changes Into XMP.
Unfortunately, LR's Edit Capture Time isn't very flexible with dealing with scanned photos in which the precise date/time is not known.  So some people like to set an entire batch to, say, 1963/10/01 00:00:00, while others like to have each photo set in increasing increments of 1 second, so that programs will at least maintain the known relative ordering (which comes from the film or slide ordering).   To do that, you'll need a third-party plugin, e.g. ExifMeta or CaptureTime To EXIF.

  • Data Load Rule file -Date conversion

Hi,While working on a Dataload rule file,I was facing this problem.I'm getting date in the format "m(m)/d(d)/yyyy hh:mm:ss". Is there a way to change this to "mm/yy" ??(There won't be anyproblem if I get mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss style. but unfortunately not.)

Can you run the file through a "conversion process" prior to loading? We do similiar thing here. We get a feed from Hyperion Enterprise and run it through a home grown conversion utility written in Windows Script before we load into Essbase. It reads in the file line by line and then writes out a new file properly formatted.

  • How to reject week 41 to 52 from 2007 data in rules file

    Hi there,
I have to reject 2007W41 to 2007W52 from the data loading, meaning i just want data till 2007W40.
Now so far what i have done is i edited the rules files went to select Time column>Records>reject>since i have to reject more than one i have selected "And"
the field is shown as "Time" at the top
    Type String / Number Condition
    String 2007W41 contain
Can anyone tell me what i m doing wrong here?
    Thanks in advance...

I think you are reading it wrong
    Think of the string aaaaa
Lets do the rejection criterial in engilish. You want to reject if the string contains aaaa or bbbbb
IF you say reject if the string contains aaaa that is good and meets the criteria
if you add and the string contains bbbb it is no longer true since it dones not contain bbbb
If my string were aaaabbbb then the and would work
If you were using a not contains, then youwould have to use the and instead of the or.
IF the string does not contian aaaa and does not contain bbbb
All of this should not be confused with the global and/or logic which works across multiple columns

  • Why can't I change the Created Date on a file using Terminal?

I bought a used Contour helmet camera to take pictures of the kids while they're skiing, and I cannot access the camera itself to change the clock in it (USB port is broken).
I get videos from it just fine, but every time I remove the battery the date/time on the camera resets to January 2008, so my skiing videos end up someplace completely different from what I expect in iMovie.
I thought I could change the Created Date with Touch in Terminal, but it only handles the Modified Date.  I know I can purchase File Date Changer 5 from the App Store to do this, but I'd like to know why I can't do it in Terminal.
Anybody know?  Or know of a different way that I COULD do it in Terminal?

Don't know about Terminal, but, because you are using 10.9.x and iMovie, try the iMovie method:

  • Choosing Dimension Members / Creating Data Load Rule Files

    Hi
Let me explain this problem using an example. Let's say I have a dimension table called "Product" and its has ProductId, ProductCode & ProductName fields, and a Fact table with ProductId and Value columns. As you can see ProductId has beed used to link to Fact table. I want to display ProductCode as dimension members (ProductName as Alias). I have no problem creating this scenario using EIS. But when I am not sure whether I could do this with EAS. I tried but I cannot get it working. Does anybody know to do this in EAS please? Also, how to create the data load rule for this problem using ProductId?
    Regards
    Chandra

You can do this using a SQL load rule.
One rule to build your dimension, simply select statement on the one Dimension table.
Second rule to load data is going to require a Select statement with a join to pull the product name from the dimension table and the data from the fact table linked on the Product id.

  • Can I script the changing of creation date, using the file name?

Normally people are doing this in reverse, but let me paint the picture.
I pulled 204 video files from an old HDD based JVC camera.  JVC records in .MOD format which iPhoto won't import.  I imported them into iMovie just fine, and iMovie even set the file name to clip-2007-11-04 04;42;29.mov which is great, but it now has a new creation date of whatever date I imported it.  Which then causes problem when I want the videos stored in iPhoto and sorted appropriately by creation date.
I've used the application "A Better Finder Attributes 5" to individually edit the creation and modify, but I'm sure I don't want to do this 203 more times, as you can't just type in the date and time, you have to type in each part of the date/time, or select it on a calendar.
I've used the application "Name Changer" to batch convert the file names to the format YYYYMMDDhhmm which would be helpful if I were going to use the terminal command touch -t, but again I don't want to have to type it in 203 more times, plus drag and drop the file into finder to populate the location.
Now, if I were more handy with automator, or maybe some (any) scripting language this would be easy peasy.  I'd batch rename all the files to the YYYYMMDDhhmm.mov and then have a script that just took the file name, passed that to touch -t along with the file location, and a few seconds later, they would all be done!
Anybody have any suggestions to how I can do this, and tips to what commands to use or ANY advice?  I'm more than happy to RTFM, but I have no idea which manual to read!
    Thanks

If your file names are precisely as you have written, this script will do what you want.
Copy the script into an AppleScript Editor document, select one or more files in a Finder window, return to the AS Editor and press Run.  Note: you will need to provide your password when the script runs.
Make sure you have a backup of any files you are working on (try using duplicates first, perhaps). The script has no error handling.
    tell application "Finder"
              set FileList to selection
              repeat with theFile in FileList
set fileName to name of theFile
set filePath to quoted form of (POSIX path of (theFile as alias))
set crYear to text 6 thru 9 of fileName
set crMonth to text 11 thru 12 of fileName
set crDay to text 14 thru 15 of fileName
set crHour to text 17 thru 18 of fileName
set crMins to text 20 thru 21 of fileName
set crDate to crYear & crMonth & crDay & crHour & crMins
                        set shellString to "touch -t " & crDate & " " & filePath
do shell script shellString with administrator privileges

  • How to change the created date for a file?

I searched and found someone had asked this question last month, and an answer given was to try the site:
    http://danilo.ariadoss.com/howto-change-date-modified-date-created-mac/
which I had previously found. However, when I follow the instructions I get a message stating "-bash: -t: command not found"
I have gone through this numerous times, always with the same result. Is it possible that the direction given are not valid for Snow Leopard?
    Thanks for any help.

First, thanks to both of you for helping - I hadn't realized that the 'touch' was part of the command itself. However, when I type in:
    touch -t 0904131115/Users/RobertFately/Desktop/suttonallen/suttonallen.jpg
to test the procedure (there is a jpeg file I made today named suttonallen inside a directory of the same name) I get this error message:
touch: out of range or illegal time specification: [[CC]YY]MMDDhhmm[.SS]
This happens if I use the full year (2009) or just the last two digits (09) as seen above. My thinking is that I am attempting to redate the "create date" to April 13th of this year with an arbitrary time of 11:15AM.

  • Programmatically change the date of a file

Is there a way to 'touch' all, or selected, files in a directory in LV?  That is, change the 'modified' date of desired files to the current date.

System Exec will allow you to run a command line program in a vi.  Look in Communications palette for System Exec vi.

  • Rule file object

    Dear all,
Is there any way to dynamically modify the field definition of the data upload rule file? (or dimension build rule)
I have this requirement to upload partial data of the source file into Essbase filtered by the value of one field.
    I want to use the script/API to modify the definistion of that filed to reject records;
    is that possible?

    SELECT * FROM TIME
Not sure this helps, Can you try to give all column names you need in "select" panel. Like,
    Col1,Col2,Col3
    Just a try.
