Changing Appl ID in iPad

Trying to access App Store on my iPad1, an old Apple ID keeps coming up. How do I change this so that it is in sync with the ID I use on my MacBook?

Go to settings, ITunes & app stores option. Tap on apple ID and. Then on Sign Out.

if I delete my account on my iphone/ipad to log on with the new details, won't it delete the 'data on this device associated with this account' or will it all be still there when I log on with new id?
If you log out, it will ask if you want to delete the data on your advice.
All data will remain in iCloud.
Login back in with new AppleID will restore it.

now, i got an iphone, a macbook and an ipad.. and wanna have my Apple ID on the IPad, but i really dont want to lose all my progress in the games i play in Game Center.
is there a way to change apple id, keep game progress in GC? i dont care what happens to any other apps EXCEPT for those in GC

iin GC you can change accounts to a new one without loosing the progrecces am i right ?
No, as I said, all the progress and everything else in your game center account is tied to the AppleID you log in with.  If you change the AppleID, that new AppleID will have none of your old accounts information.  I don't know how much plainer I can say that.

If you want to sign into a new Apple ID on the iPad go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Tap the old ID and sign out. Sign in with the new ID.

  • HT204053 need to change apple id on ipad for cloud like all my other emails has changed

need to change apple id on my ipad for cloud to match all my email sign in names that i have changed for apple store account and etc.

*Did you update your AppleID or did you create a new AppleID with a new emaill address?*
Thanks, Chris for helping me. I have posted this in 6 places online and no one will touch it!
Shitums. I can't recall, Chris. I was on the phone with Apple and they walked me through all of it. They changed my email/ID, to my new one, then I went into itunes and changed it. Then I went to settings on iPad and changed it and all was good! So we hung up.
Then I went to update all my apps and up pops the OLD ID. BUT if you go into settings the new one is present as is on iTunes.:( I have also synced twice and backed up, thinking that would tell the iPad update thingy the new ID.
*Go to the app store, click on Featured at the bottom, scroll all the way down, click on Account then sign out and sign in.*
    I will do this now!
    Don't forget me!
Okay. I'm on it. This doesn't sound like something I have tried in the last 24 hours.

  • Change Apple ID on iPad app?

Can I change Apple ID associated with a newsstand magazine app? I am moving to a new iPad and am using a different Apple ID on the new one.

You may authorize an iPad to use content from more than one Apple ID. However, the most simple way to do this is to authorize a Mac or a PC to use the content from multiple Apple IDs and commingle the content in the same iTunes content libraries. Then sync all the content to the iPad.

  • How to change apple ID on iPad without losing any saved pics

Hello, I gave my wife my iPad 2 with the understanding that as soon as I could afford it I could get a new iPad. I never changed the apple id on her machine and she now has over a thousand pics that she doesn't want to lose and this friday I'm picking up the new iPad. What are my options in regards to the pics? Also there is no iTunes via computer as an option. Thanks

Why would you believe that changing the ID would cause loss of photos?

  • HT5621 Change apple id on ipad and iphone

I changed email addresses and updated my apple id on icloud. I cannot change my apple id on my ipad or iphone. Suggestions?

    Hi,
I changed my apple ID on iCloud, but when I go to use icloud on my ipad or iphone, it seems I need to 'delete' the old account' before logging on with the new account, but won't this 'delete any data on this device' as it warns me?
    Thanks

  • Changed Apple ID on iPad, but Facebook app and iMessage remain  the same

the same. I cannot update any apps and cannot log into iMessage and Facebook.
Can I delete those apps from my iPad and download them again?
I have gone through the process of deleting the old account from iCloud and setting up a new one with my new Apple ID.
    Can anyone help?

Did the reboot and the old ID appears. Not sure where to find the "receive at," that is unfamiliar to me.
This all happened when I changed my apple id because of an email change. In retrospect, I dont' think I did it correctly because I was unaware of all the hoops one had to jump through. I unintentionally created a new Apple ID, which has spawned a whole host of problems--lost iTunes credit among others.
The iPad is off and connected, and  I am hopeful that it will backup to the new iCoud account and maybe the iMdssage glitch will fix itself.
If I knew having an iPad would result in another huge headache to maintain accounts etc. I think I would have just stuck with my MacBook Pro!
****, all I wanted to do was change my emial address!

  • Changing apple id in ipad

I gave my step mom my old iPad1. She can't seem to clear out my appleID and change it to hers. We tried changing it under settings, and she can't get all the way through the process. Even though she's logged out of my account, she gets a grey box every time she tries to go to the app store (see attached pic). Ideas?

Settings>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID and sign out. If using iOS 6 it is Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID.
I see updates for 55 apps, and if they are your apps, she can't update them with a new ID anyway and you should erase the iPad in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings. Then she can set the iPad up as new with her own Apple ID.

  • Can't change Apple ID on iPad

My sister who is not very tech savvy let me borrow her iPad.  Her co-workers', who apparently helped her when she first got it, Apple Id comes up when I go to the iTunes & App Store.  How do I change that the Apple ID?  It is not giving me the option to sign out.
    Plz help,
    Narie

First of all note that if you switch Apple ID's on her iPad so that you can download something for free on her iPad using your ID, you will lock her out of her own Apple ID for 90 days. You can only associate a device with another ID once every 90 days. So if that is your desire, don't do it.
If you need to sign out of her ID for some other reason such as troubleshooting purposes and the ID is greyed out and you can't sign out. Check Settings>General>Restrictions>Allow Changes>Accounts. They may have turned off changes to accounts and that would prevent you from being able to sign out of her ID.

  • Can the change Apple ID on iPad

First off I am a Newbie to the iPad...
    i have 2 questions...
    1)  Over a year ago my company purchased an iPad (don't know if it is just an iPad or iPad2)
It was going to be used by Restaurant Servers to place orders.
It was only used a couple of times and then put away.
Now we want to start using it again.
I powered on the iPad and there were some updates so I let the iPad install them.
Once the updates were completed, the next screen came up with the following
"to finish setting up iCloud, enter the Apple ID password for (email address)"
I have tried every password I can think of but to no avail, they did not work.
The person who set the iPad up, is no longer here. (I can not call this person and ask if they know what the password is)
I know the Apple ID but do not know what the password is.
I tried the Forgot password however I do not know the person first and last name that was used.  I have tried several different names and they did not work either.
Now I have created a new Apple ID and password (and will put that information in a safe place)
I can skip the "to finish setting up iCloud, enter the Apple ID Password for (email address) however the next message comes up with
"Are you sure?  If you skip this step, some iCloud service may not be set up completely"
If I skip, can I finish setting up the iCloud services after I change the Appile ID login?
    which is my next question:
    2) How do I change the Apple ID on the iPad?  I am not a user of Apple products (however I will be after I get this iPad setup correctly) so I need instructions.
Ok I do have another question.... In order for me to change the ID and password will i need the ID and password of the one that is currently on the iPAD?
    Thanks in advance.

You have run into Activation Lock. You will not be able to get around it without knowing the password of the person it is currently locked to. Get the original receipt for the iPad and make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and see if they can assist you.

  • I reset my apple ID and password for new iPhone 5. Now my iPad is stuck with old ID and I can't remember the old password in order to change apple account on iPad.....

I would like to enable my new Apple ID onto my iPad but in order to do that I have to delete my previous Apple ID with password. I have tried to retrieve my password several times with no success. Does anyone know how to bypass this step? I can't even reset it to factory settings without the old password.
    Thanks for any help.

There is no way to bypass this step.  It's Activation Locked.  You can read more about it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
You will need to resolve the password issue for your old Apple Id to move forward.
To reset your password follow these steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5787
If you are still having issues, contact Apple via phone so they can help you reset your password: http://support.apple.com/kb/he57

  • Change Apple ID on iPad

    Hello Apple Community,
My Apple ID is currently in use for both my devices (iPhone and iPad) and my son's iPad. This solves the need for me to control any purchases made on the iPad -- he has a reward system that enables him to save for apps, I input my password and all is well.
However I just found out about the iTunes monthly gift card, which would greatly help the budget setting and avoid having to physically input the password or passing my password on to another person e.g. when I am at work.
    My questions:
I realize he will now have to have his own Apple ID so I can send a gift card. He has one, used primarily for Game Center and iMessage/FaceTime. However, as mentioned, the other apps are tied to my ID and my credit card. So A) can I switch his ID to reflect his own ID and b) more crucially, will he still be able to keep the apps purchased via my ID? Obviously want to maintain his progress etc. on his apps as well as avoid re-purchase.
Is there any way this can be done?

Go into Settings > Store, tap on the id on the right-hand side and log out of it, and then log in with the new one. If you have any apps on the iPad that were downloaded via the old id then you will only be able to download updates via that id - apps are tied to the id that bought/downloaded them, not to the device that they are on, and they can't be transferred to another account.

  • Restore Pages files after changing Apple ID on iPad

    Hello:
Anyone know it it's possible to restore  the Pages documents that were on the iPad after chaning the Apple ID?
When I first confirgured my iPad, I used my Apple ID to set it up; however, in the process of migrating MobileMe to iCloud, my MobileMe account became a second Apple ID.  When I switched the iPad to the Apple ID create via the MobileMe migration, all of the Pages files were deleted.
I'm looking at the iPad backups stored here:  <UserHomeDir>/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
I was hoping it would be a simple matter of going to my hard drive back up (I have both a TimeMachine backup and a recent clone of my hard drive); however, it's not a simple matter of finding the files that were part of my original Apple ID and copying them over as the backup is stored in a file structure that does not seem to allow direct access to the files.
Any thoughts as to how I might retrieve the files are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Warren Heaton

    Phew!
I just got off the phone with AppleCare.
It turns out that there's nothing to restore.  All of the documents that were created while using my original Apple ID are "in the cloud".  As such, they are accessible through my original Apple ID.
Logging into iCloud.com with the original Apple ID allows access to all the files.  From that page, the files can be downloaded to my Mac and then moved to the Apple ID that resulted from migrating my MobileMe account.
