Changing background theme on Office 2013 - too white or 2 shades of grey.
Is there a way to choose a color other than white, light grey, or dark grey as a background scheme for MS Office 2013?
If not, when will there be an update to address this issue?
They'll help you over here.

Changing Color of MS Office 2013 - From Grey to White
How do I make MS Office - Excel, Word and Outlook on normal white color just a MS 2007.. Please help.
I tried changing it to white from account menu..but it still is the same.So when you go to Accounts (or Office Account in Outlook) and change it from one of the two Gray options to White, nothing happens?
Screenshots of the 3 color choices are here -
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/2013/changing-office-2013s-color-scheme/ - there aren't colors like in Office 2007.

Change Background Color of SharePoint 2013 Public Site
Hi All,
I have started using Online SharePoint 2013 Version and I have task to change the background color of Public site via designer 2013 .can any one help me how can I achieve it
SamarWell, you could upload a picture of the color you want where you would upload a background picture in change the look from the Gear drop down.
Other wise you can add this css
.ms-core-overlay {background-color:#####;}
Are you aware that you can change the look and feel in the site settings? -
Can the programmers please give us more to choose form with regards to the themes in Office 2013? I cannot stand it any longer... The user interface is horrible as it is too white & bright especially if you've been working on Office for hours... Please
give us more theme options than white/grey/ dark grey to choose from. I like most of the other improvements, but I still prefer Office 2010 due to this bad colour theme of Office 2013... Did you overspend in having us choose little flowers/shapes/forms in
the top left corner and had no money left to develop the other aspects of the user interface???Hi Jaynet,
So what's the verdict, it's been several months since this post started... this UI is horribly bright, why?? Apple did the same with iOS7, it's ridiculous. I'm an MCPD, have been certified in Visual Basic/Studio and SQL Server since 2000 and I know EXACTLY
how programmers think and how easy or difficult a task is. Giving us a darker option isn't hard at all, but it's the latest UI fad, all of this bright blinding interface, and Microsoft won't give us a dark option (like Photoshop does) because it's part of
the MARKETING/BRANDING push, indoctrinating the "new look", at our expense. Frustrating.
I was given a copy of Office 2013 Pro by Amazon Vine for review, and I'm preparing to write the review, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to shred this version IN that review, because people have been calling out about it all year and Microsoft has ignored
them. I hope you reply with a more encouraging answer that something is being done. I will certainly add that in if there is good news on the horizon.

Office 365 Pro Plus vs Office 2013 Pro Plus licensing
I can't find any exact answers on this but I'm wondering if I can run Office 2013 Pro Plus instead of office 365 Pro Plus click to run. The problem is click to run causes all kinds of problems with 3rd party software. It's so random too and doesn't happen
to everyone in my office.
With office 365 this is what happens. We have this 3rd party integration with word that adds a tab to interact with our CRM. When you click a button on this tab word crashes and you loose your document. It will auto recover most of the time but at that point
the 3rd part integration is broken because the document was open outside of the software.
I did an online repair of office 365 but that didn't fix it.
So I have a volume license key for Office 2013 pro plus for my terminal servers and was wondering if I could just use that key on my computers to activate Office 2013 Pro Plus instead of Office 365 and still be compliant with the license agreement.
I have tried installing Office 2013 Pro Plus and activating with the Office 365 login but it converts office 2013 to the Office 365 click to run. It's so infuriating! LOL.
Thanks!Hi,
"So I have a volume license key for Office 2013 pro plus for my terminal servers and was wondering if I could just use that key on my computers to activate Office 2013 Pro Plus instead of Office 365 and still be compliant with the license agreement."
By the volume license key, do you mean a MAK key? Technically it should work fine, but since it will be related to the licence policy, I suggest you contact the local customer service to confirm:

I understand in your scenario if you activate Office 2013 with the Office 365 account it will display Office 365. But does it also display "click to run"? The installation method should change unless you installed Office 2013 via click to run too.

Office 2013 templates Group Policies
There is a GPO related to Enterprise template locations in Office 2013 that is not clear at all and poorly documented. The path to the GPO is:
MS Office 2013 > Shared Paths > Enterprise templates path
What is the purpose and how this path can be used? What is the difference between using this GPO and the following GPOs that I have been using in the past:
MS Office 2013 > Shared Paths > Workgroup templates path
MS Office 2013 > Shared Paths > User templates path
PowerPoint 2013/Word 2013 > Miscellaneous > Personal templates path for PPT or Word
Any information will be greatly appreciated.Hi Petrika,
See the following;
This policy will set the following regkey:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\General]
"CorporateTemplates" (REG_SZ or REG_EXPAND_SZ)
You can however also deploy this setting as normal user preference (not as policy), e.g.:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\General]
"CorporateTemplates"="\\server\share\corporatethemes"
We are using "Templates" for the regkey and policy description which is somewhat misleading. What we really mean is "Corporate Design Theme Templates" for PowerPoint.
A "Theme" basically contains the following design elements:
• Font
• Colors
• Styles/Effects
Office contains several different design themes out of the box but it is possible to define your own design themes for personal use or for corporate use. This policy targets the corporate use of such themes.
Personal themes are typically stored in the user profile under "%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes".
You can store corporate templates somewhere on a file share and deploy a policy so PowerPoint will always enumerate these themes when displaying them in the themes gallery.
In order to visualize this feature please just try the following:
1. Open the "Design" Tab in PowerPoint and expand the Themes Gallery:
2. You will see a list of Themes and where they are coming from. Currently we see the design in this presentation, maybe custom themes if you once saved your own theme(s) and the Office native themes:
3. Now click on "Save Current Theme…" and save the current theme as "MyTestTheme" to a file share (e.g.
\\server\share\corporatethemes)
Now set a policy or simply set the following regkey in order to load corporate themes from this file share:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\General]
"CorporateTemplates"="\\server\share\corporatethemes"
4. Reboot PowerPoint so this setting takes effect
5. Look into the used file share. It now contains a subfolder "Document Themes" with a thmx file (this is your theme definition) and three subfolders where settings for your design colors, fonts and effects are stored:
6. Now let's look again into PowerPoints's style gallery in the Design tab. This time you see one category more in the list of available themes: You see your corporate theme that you just saved in step 3.
7. Sometimes customers do not want the native themes to be displayed but only the corporate themes. This should make it more likely that users are using only corporate themes and not other themes when creating new presentations.
In this case you can set the following regkey or policy key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\PowerPoint\Options]
"ThemesGalleryShowCorporateOnly"=Dword:0x00000001
8. If you restart PowerPoint you now see only the default Office-Theme but all other pre-installed office themes are not listed any more
Ok, so bottom line is that you can design your own corporate themes in Office 2013. For PowerPoint (where these themes are mainly used and where corporate design guides are often used) you can specify a central file share where you store your own corporate
design themes. Users will get these themes listed in the design gallery if you are using the "Enterprise Templates" policy.

OS 10.1MR update changed Calendar theme to white
The subject says everything
After the upgrade to the OS 10.1.0.4610 which was made available by my carrier Optus (AU) today, the colour theme in the calendar changed to white.
I already blamed my carrier that they released an upgrade for the wrong device - until I learned that this is intended
Why??? Why can't we stay with the classy - and on the Q10 better to read - dark theme?
Is there an option to change the theme back to dark or will this defect be fixed in future OS versions? Maybe with the option to choose the theme to use?
Thanks
allwiHey allwi,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
Both of these versions are the correct updates for Optus Australia. The latest version is 10.1.0.4181. There could of been minor fixes or customizations options, each network service provider has their own unique BlackBerry device software.
This blog post will show you what's new in 10.1 overall: http://blogs.blackberry.com/2013/07/a-new-blackberry-10-update/
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers.

So, What I am trying to do is deploy Office 2013 throughout our company, and I do not want the users to save their business or personal files created within Office 2013 on the C: drive or Sky Drive. We have what is called the U: drive and I'd like to know
if there's a quick registry tweak that I can use to not only change the default location upon setting up a computer, but to deploy through Group Policy?
One other question perhaps; Is there a way to change not only the file location to default to only the one place, but also is there a way to also set a specific size limit to folders and prevent certain files from being saved (videos and personal pictures).
I have our network pretty tight as to what or who can go where, and what not, I am just really for an answer or some help to the default location...anything you have GREATLY APPRECIATED!You can use the OCT and/or domain Group Policy, to customise the Office experience and settings for your users:

Office 2013 64 bit get rid of WSD ports and never see them again
I have some users with enormous spreadsheets, so we upgraded to Office 2013 64 but (from Office 2010 32 bit). The OS is Windows7 64 bit.
We were working just fine with TCP ports for the printers. But Office 2013 64 bit installs WSD ports (not the trial version BTW, but as soon as you buy the full version it re-installs and messes up your printers)
How do I stop Office Pro 2013 64 bit from putting in these WSD port monitors. I don't need them. I just want fixed IP TCP ports.

I am trying to create an iphoto book as I have done in the past. I am now using iphot 11 9.4.3 and it doesn't give me different themes and I can't change background colours in the book like I can with 9.4.2
It looks like you'll have to reinstall iPhoto go get the themes back. To reinstall iPhoto:
On all Macs running Snow Leopard or Earlier
1 - delete the current application and, , all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the:
(10.5 and earlier) - HD/Library/Receipts folder
or from the
(10.6) - /var/db/receipts/ folder
On all Macs with Lion or Later Pre-installed
Deleting receipts is not necessary if your Mac came with Lion or later preinstalled.
Finally re-install iPhoto from the source it came from originally:
1 - (10.6 or earlier) from the disks that came with the Mac or an iLife disk.
2 - (10.7 or later) from the App Store .

Can I change the default snooze interval in Office 2013?
Currently, the default for the snooze setting is set at 5 minutes. Can I change the default snooze interval in Office 2013?
I'm sorry to tell that we can't change the default snooze time in Outlook. We can just type a different time in it or select from the drop down.
For more information about the default snooze time behavior, you can refer:

Change background to white on headshot. new to iPhoto. thanks
change background to white on headshot. new to iPhoto. thanks
That's not a feature of iPhoto. You'll need an external editor for that kind of work:
In order of price here are some suggestions:
Seashore (free)
The Gimp (free)
Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
Acorn ($50 approx)
Pixelmator ($50 approx)
Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto. -
Need to change background to white
I need to change backgrounds of jpg files to white. Can someone tell me how to do this? I use Photoshop CS4. I am a novice woth Photoshop.
Sounds like you want to select your subject then remove the background. This is a fairly common operation, for example to put subjects on different backgrounds (different in your case is white).
See this video by Russell Brown for ideas on masking a subject from a background:
