Changing DATE as a Characteristic value of batch with BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE

Hello,
Could you give advice for using BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE?
I decided to use BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE to update Batch characteristic value.
I could update CHAR field but could not DATE.
I set like below :
- Characteristic name (e.g. Z10001) to CHARACT of ALLOCVALUESNUMNEW(Tables)
- DATE(e.g. 20081211) to VALUE_FROM of ALLOCVALUESNUMNEW(Tables).
But it does not work.
Of course, I executed BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT after the FM done.
I found the value of VALUE_FROM is missing when debugging.

You should not use MOVE, you should use :

All Dates displayed for "Characteristic Values" in Query Designer

Hello Experts,
We are on BI 7.0, level 13. I am having an issue within the Query Designer with regards to dates. I have a write-optimized DSO that contains 3 date fields (for example, ZDATE1, ZDATE2, and ZDATE3). Each date InfoObject is of type DATS so the system automatically creates it with reference to 0DATE.
When I create a query in the Query Designer, on the left hand side, I expand the "Characteristic Values" node under each date field. The Query Designer shows the same list of values for each of the 3 dates even though they are not valid values posted in the DSO for those fields.
For example, ZDATE1 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2005).
ZDATE2 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2006).
ZDATE3 only has 1 value posted in the DSO (01/01/2007).
Bute when I expand the "Characteristic Values" node in the Query Designer, I see ALL THREE values under each date field. I would expect to only see the 1 value posted for the InfoObject in the DSO. Also note that each InfoObject is defined to show "Only posted values in InfoProvider".
It appears that Query Designer will show all values for the reference InfoObject 0DATE instead of the ones posted to the actual InfoObject in the DSO. If I delete the data in the DSO, the Characteristic Values list still remains because they exist in 0DATE. Anyone encounter this before? How can I get the Characteristic Values list to only show posted values for that InfObject?

Thanks for the response. I went into the DSO and right clicked on each of the Date fields. I looked at the Provider-specific properties and there is the option for "Query Exec.FilterVal" which only restricts what values appear when restricting during execution, not during query creation.
Is there someplace else I should look or someplace else I can make change to only display posted dates when creating a query? Thanks!

Batch Change Date/Time - same time to full batch, not offset timing?

Is there a way to force Aperture to change the date/time on a batch of photos with ALL images to the same exact date/time?
Right now, I have a bunch of scanned images with the wrong date/time, but of course, scanned at different times (embedded image date/time). When using Aperture 2.1's "Metadata", "Adjust Date and Time..." function, I only have one image with the input desired date/time, then all the other scans have a different date/time based on the timing offset difference from the scanning, which over the course of several scans changes by several days quickly.
Does anyone know of a work around? I'd hate to manually adjust hundreds/thousands of image metadata by hand when Aperture should do this easily.

Correct, I am referring to the EXIF data. Aperture can change this data using the aforementioned "Metadata", "Adjust Date and Time..." feature, it's only that Aperture can't (as far as I can tell) set a batch of photo to the exact date and time among the entire batch.
Perhaps I'll be able to find or create an Apple Script to do this outside of Aperture?
It's a shame though as I can't possibly be the only one with a large scanned collection from years ago I'm trying to archive in proper date order. This would be a great new added feature Apple, if you are also reading this! (I've already submitted the feature request some weeks ago)

I believe you're asking if you can change the value of a content item's property using Javascript (a content item is created from a data entry template, which defines the set of properties).
Unfortunately there is not a way to permanently change it in the content item, since Javascript is executed client-side rather than on the server. However, if you're just interested in how the value is displayed in the published HTML, you could modify the presentation template to store the property value into a Javascript variable and then manipulate it to be displayed in whatever manner you wish.

Asked to change Date and Time upon starting my G5 with Leopard 10.5.5

Hello, I just installed Leopard 10.5.5 on my G5 2dual 2.7 and eveything works great. The only issue I see, which is minor, is I am always asked to change the date and time manually after starting up the computer. The date defaults to June 1st 1969 or something crazy like that. I check the set date and time automatically and if sets itself correctly- Like I said this isn't really creating any functionality problems, but I am curious to know why I am always getting that message? Copy characteristic value(class 023 ) from the material master to the batch

Is there a way to copy the characteristic value (class 123) from material master to the batch master automatically once we create a batch of that material

I dont know if its possible in standard, you can try and create a reference batch, and use the below user exit I found in SAP library :
Set Up Customer Exit for Determining Source Batch
You can use function module exit EXIT_SAPLV01Z_011 in SAP enhancement SAPLV1ZN when assigning characteristic values to batches. You use this to specify a reference batch when creating a new batch with the central function module VB_CREATE_BATCH.
Further notes
The reference batch must always be specified completely. This means the reference material, source batch and reference plant details must have been entered if the batch is determined at plant level.
All batch master data is copied. If the batch is classified in this enhancement, the values assigned to the corresponding characteristics are copied.
In the exit, you can use a communication structure with the application data for the respective business transaction (for example, plant or material type). If you require further information, you must obtain it yourself in one of the user exits (such as time, user name, or date, for example).

Condition type value updation using characteristic value in sales order

Hi Experts,
We are implementing SAP for one of our Spain client. In that one of the Legal requirements is, whenever they are selling the finished products to domestic customers who contain OIL as one of the component then, some additional cost needs to be calculated and collected from customer and which needs to be paid back to Spain Government every month on Region basis.
If OIL is not a component to produce the finished product then, not required to charge the customer additionally.
The OIL content used to produce every finished product will vary based on product characteristic value. Meaning, for some finished product the OIL used will be 2.2 KG and for some products it will be 3.5, 4.3 KG and etc.
Since various combinations of products are available for the client, during sales order creation we are planning to update some special characteristic which the data flow from u201CVariant Tableu201D. In the variant table we are going to maintain the OIL Quantity required making finished product.
But we are not sure how to activate a new condition type with the value fetched in the special characteristic. This new condition type needs to be activated based on this characteristic value and multiplied with total order quantity and price to charge from customer.
Example, the special characteristic fetched the value of 2.2 KG based on variant table. Total Order quantity is 10 PC and charge is 0.06 EURO per KG. in this case, (2.2 x 10 ) x 0.06 EURO = 1.32 EURO
I need the expert opinion how to activate the new condition type based on characteristic value and achieve the above requirement.

I have replicated the whole requirememt in IDES and getting the price calculation as needed but the only issue with the Conversion factor for the condition type. Either you need to maintian the conv factor in material master or need to enter manually for the condition type in SO. Some how you have to maintain the conversion factor to calculate the price for the condition type in different unit.
For easy of understanding Lets make the whole requirement in 2 parts
Part - 1
Oil qty calculation. For convenience sake I have taken oil qty also in TO
1) Created a num char OIL_QTY1 with length 9 and decimal places 5 and UOM as TO
2) Created Variant table to infer the OIL qty in TO per piece of finished prod ( This oil qty data may be depends on various factors). For certain Finished products the oil qty may be 0 or blank
3) Created a REF char SO_QTY to pull the SO qty to configuration and add this char in class 300(Table:VBAP,Field :KWMENG)
4) Created another char SO_OIL_QTY (Num with length 9 and decimal places 5 and UOM as TO)
5) Created a PROCEDURE say PROC_SO_OIL_QTY with code
*$self.SO_OIL_QTY = $self.OIL_QTY1 * $self.SO_QTY*
6) Create another PROCEDURE as mentioned earlier with modified code

Note: Maintain proper seq of the procedures in profile. The Qty cal proc should be before the price related procedures.

Now if you create SO for the Finished product of 10 PC
the Char values will be
OIL_QTY1 = 0.00022 TO (inferred from Variant table th proc)
SO_QTY = 10
SO_OIL_QTY = 0.0022 TO
Get into conditions tab
Here Condition type ZSIG will be displayed as error with Amount 60 EUR per TO and condition value will be blank. Just enter value 1 in the col NumC and CCon fields.
Now the Condition value will appear as 1.32 EUR.

What I'd like to know is if there is a way to avoid the capture "trigger" to fire in the event of DELETE records: due to the application business logic, I'm interested just in insert and updates on the source table, and I don't mind about delete(s), so I don't want them to consume resources (both disk space and CPU) on the server.
Is there a supported way to do so?

But the CAPTURE_VALUES parameter only manages the UPDATE issues, to have one row containing the row values before the update occurred and another row containing the row values after the update occurred.
What I'm interested in is aviod logging in the change table all the delete operations occourring in the source tables (a sort of "afert indert or update" trigger, instead of the "insert, update or delete"...)

Just the opposite way you have described. It gets from the corresponding masterdata tables, with the connected SID.

Change Data Capture: Experiencing Delay

Hello Community,
I am experiencing an anomaly with Change Data Capture that is turning up empty with online searches. Essentially, I am attempting to change data, and then immediately call the fn_cdc_get_all_changes_* function to get the changes I just made.
The issue I am running into is that the changes are not immediately available when I make that call. I have to sleep the current thread 3.5-5 seconds before the changes are registered with SQL Server.
This seems very abnormal to me, so I wanted to check in with the forums here to see if maybe someone can shed some light on the matter. Is CDC scheduled, perhaps? I'd like to see if there's a "force refresh" mechanism that I can call
to ensure CDC is caught up before I make the call.

Hi Michael,
The CDC latency is defined as the elapsed time between a transaction being committed on a source table and the last captured transaction being committed on the change table. To decrease the latency, we can change the following parameters of the sys.sp_MScdc_capture_job
stored procedure of the target database:
Increase maxscans - (default 10) the number of scans performed between each polling interval
Increase maxtrans - (default 500) the number of transactions to grab with each scan
Decrease pollinginterval - (default 5 seconds) the amount of time to wait between log scans

I used the se37 to test bapis, is more easy and fast !!
and you can save data like variant, and you can simulate the real execution without write any code abap,
and re-process the times that you need,
when you know what fields you need you write your abap code faster.

BI-IP: Change of characteristic value in ABAP EXIT planning function

I have created a planning function of the type EXIT with reference data without blocks. In method IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_IMP_EXEC_REF~EXECUTE I am going to implement my code.
Now, one of the purposes is to update the VALIDTO of an existing record. Is it possible to modify the characteristic values directly in C_TH_DATA (thus allowing me to just update the date directly on the record) or can I only append records?

Yes you can change directly your value in a record withou appending a new one,but still it will create 2 records in the delta buffer ready to be save to the cube.

BI-IP change characteristic value in FOX

i want to change the characteristic value in FOX.
Therefore the FOX runs through all char combinations to identify the highest
number for the char test.
This step works fine, but i cant write the value for maxloop in the cube.
If i try, only the old row is deleted, but i dont get a new row with the calculated value for maxloop.
the code looks like this:

But as per the statement MAXLOOP = MAXLOOP + 00001 the MAXLOOP conatins a new figure. Obviously there will not be any record in the cube for this value of MAXLOOP.
You are assigning this to the record with MAXLOOP = 00200, so system is assigning zero to 0AMOUNT for the record that is having MAXLOOP=00200 value.
Make the below corrections and test again:
DATA NEWLOOP type test.
NEWLOOP = MAXLOOP + 00001.

How to change the characteristic value in a item of sales order by FM?

Hi experts,
I guess the FM BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE can implement my requirement. But I have made many testing program, that's all failed. I don't know which part is not correct. So could you give a very simple sample to me? Just change the characteristic value in a item of sales order, not do any change for other parts. Thanks in advanced.
