Changing Default Annotations Font in Preview

Is there a way to change the default annotations font in the preview app for Mountain Lion?  I'm using the annotations feature to take notes on class assignments, however, I don't like the default "noteworthy" font.  I've tried to change it by selecting Tools > Show fonts.  However, when I highlight the annotations I've taken, then try to select a different font, it only closes my annotations note without changing the font.
Along the same lines, is it possible to have rich text formatting while using preview's annotations feature?
Thanks in advance,
AH

Hello Experts,
Pleasure to meet you all through this forum. This is my first reply to a question.
Mr. Chuan Lee, try the following and let me know if it works to your issue.
1. Choose the document that you would print and choose the PLD icon.
2.Click the field on the Print Layout Design on the left and then check the Font and Size in the Format Tab of the Properties window on to your right below field Index window.
3. If it is differing from what you are expecting, change and font and size and save the changes.
4. Check the box " Block Overall Font Change" below the Font&Size property fields.
5. Save your preferences.
I think it should work.
Experts correct me if i am wrong. Appreciate me if I am right.
All the best Chuan lee.

  • How do I change the annotation font in Preview?

So I'm not fond of the default font used in the annotation sticky in the new Preview.app.  However, the Font menu seems to be disconnected from the sticky - in that if I select the Font inspector, it unselects the sticky so the changes do not apply to it.
How can I change this?  And while I'm at it, any way to get the timestamping feature turned back on for the sticky note? It helps to see when I wrote the sticky...  Thanks.

  • How can I change annotation font in Preview?

    Hi,
To view PDF text files, I am using Preview, which seems to me far better than Adobe Pro.
The only problem I have with Preview is the font size in "note" option in annotation function.
It is just too small for me. Is there any way that I can change the font size in "note"?
I know I can change font size in "text" option, but I almost gave up how to do in 'note' after searching the web for months.
    Help me plzzzzz...

This is a very old thread, but in case you stumble across this thread wondering how to change annotation or cursor fonts, it is possible.

  • Change default paper size on Preview when printing

When I open the print window on Preview (ver 7.0) to print a .pdf file, the default paper size is always A4, which I never use; I use US Letter instead. Is there a way to change the default paper size to US Letter so I don't have to change it every time I print or forget completely? I tried looking under Preview preferences, but no luck.
I use my MBP in the Japanese language (in Japan they use A4 as main paper size), but I live in the US. Is this the cause of this problem?

Having the region set to Japan will have set the default to A4 but you can change it by opening Printers & Scanners and changing the setting "Default Paper Size" from A4 to US Letter.

  • Changing default interface font size has no effect

Just setup my shiny new iMac with 5K retina display.  Images in Lightroom, of course, look stunning on the display. Problem is that all the interface elements are now displayed at a very small size.  I've tried setting the font size in Preferences/Interface to "Large", but nothing changes.  Any suggestions?  With the increasing use of 4K and now 5K displays, I'd think being able to set a more easily readable font size for the interface elements (while still displaying images in all they retina-resolution goodness) would be an important option to have.  Thanks.,

Lightroom 5 the font sizes changed to Small, Medium, Large 150% and Largest 200%  (the last one is what you want for QHD displays.)
LR4 only had 3 font size choices (Auto,Small and Large) and does not support QHD/4K displays.

    Mike,
How did you build it? I thought I followed the instructions in the PP-release-notes.html file to complile the RI. I'm getting an error. As root, in the linux-i686 directory I entered the command...
    make J2ME_CLASSLIB=personal JDK_HOME=<your-java-home-dir>\
    CVM_GNU_TOOLS_PATH=/usr/bin J2ME_BUILD_STATUS=_fcs\
    CVM_DEBUG=true CVM_JVMDI=true CVM_SYMBOLS=true
...where <your-java-home-dir> is my jdk home and I get...
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
I'm new to linux. Sounds like a basic error. Where's the makefile for this?

  • Changing default "other language" fonts

    Hi,
I am a Thai mac user. I am pretty ok with Lucilda grande as my default system fonts. But when I switch to thai keyboard layout, the default Thai font for it is quite bad. Is there anyway to change this font? (I don't even know what font it is.) This font seems to be the default font for thai characters in all applications too.
    Thanks

I think this font is Lucida Grande (which includes Thai as well as Hebrew, Cyrillic, and Latin). Surely you can tell by opening the Font Panel and switching among them. I think the only way you can choose a different default font is if the particular app you are using has a setting for that. For instance, Nisus Writer Express has preferences that tie keyboard layouts to fonts.
