Changing default security policy during install

Hi
I have a requirement to automate the install of oracle 11.2 for training purposes but the new default password policies are causing a few problems.
Does anyone know how to change the default password policy (post-install) to the alternative setting of "Use policy specified in Workspace Password Policy" from within a pl/sql script?
We don't need the strong password policies for the training and after each session the system is re-installed.

Not during install. iTunes folder is always in My Documents but you can tell iTunes to store the media files elsewhere. After library file (.itl) has been created, can even move it to somewhere else.

  • Default security policy 802.1x

    Folks,
I just installed a 2100 controller and added a WLAN. I noticed that the default L2 security policy is 802.1x which is using WEP 104 keys. My question is where do we define the wep key on the controller. does that mean no client will be able to connect to the AP, unless he adds the key to the SSID?

Does 802.1x always require a radius server? With a fully redundant network implementation I could see a Windows Radius server being the weakest link.
For port security for a project I am working on I am searching for the best solution. I will shutdown unused ports. Allow only one mac-address (need to learn how to do this). I am also researching the cost effectiveness of implementing 802.1x security.

  • Change default Windows background during deployment

I have a Windows deployment server up and running and deploying custom Windows 7&8 images which all work fine. I want to be able to change the default Windows background to a custom image during deployment so when a new user is created and logs in locally,
my image is displayed rather than the default one. I know this can be done by changing an entry in the registry, but I would like some help in creating a script to do this during deployment and also where this script would have to be placed and how to run
this. I am a noob at scripting and any help would be appreciated! ;)
    Thanks in advance

I am using the process documented at the link below in my builds today with a lot of success. In addition to setting the background for every user, it will also allow for setting the colors and accents. Pretty good stuff from the guys at CoreTech.

  • Changing Default Security Levels

I have several Windows 7 Enterprise machines that have already been deployed via image and need to lower the security settings for use on internal web based applications.
Is there an easy way to manipulate the configuration (a file) so that I may simply make the changes by overwriting the current configuration settings instead of, having to go to each device, opening the Java console, and changing the security settings that way?
I have attempted to login as the machine administration, make the changes on the Java console with the hopes this configuration would have migrated to all user profiles that log into the PC. Is there a "public profile" configuration file I can change and if so, what should I do.
Thank you in advance for the assistance

Create a "deployment.properties" file with the line "deployment.security.level=HIGH" (or what ever level you need that is supported by your version of Java) and save it in "C:/Windows/Sun/Java/Deployment/" (assuming windows client device).

  • Change Default Media Location During Installation

    Hello Everyone,
I'm currently working on installing iTunes using command lines to push it to multiple computers in the organization I work for. However, we would like to change the default media location to C:/iTunes (as an example) during installation, instead of it being created in \\server\user\music\iTunes (example). We'd like to change it so it's not storing files on the server and not taking up space on people's personal work shares.
I searched other discussions and Google'd it, but I couldn't find a definitive answer.
We use Windows 7 x64 operating system if that needs to be known.

Hmm, no one here has any idea if this can be done?

  • Changing default Work Center during CATS time entry

    Hi Folks,
I am hoping someone here can throw some expert advice.
Currently during time entry in CATS, we have Work Center coming in from the Work Order. Its getting defaulted without any option to change it. Business here has a need to change it. I have llooked into the CATS profile to see if there is a place that enable the WC to be defaulted.
In Transaction CAC1, there is a section that shows what fields are being defaulted during CAT2 time entry. However I do not see the Work Center as one of the option there.
    Can any one help?
In short, where do we disable the defaulting of the WC from the Word Order during time entry?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Adding to what Kapil said; if the work centre is a grayed out in time shet screen then you can go to CAC2 transaction and make it editable. By this way users will be able to change the work centre on screen.

  • Change default storage location during creation of PO

    Hello all,
    I have the following question.
When creating a purchase order using ME21N and filling in the items, the storage location is retreived from the material masterdata and displayed as default.
I need to change this default, because the storage location must be determined in another way.
So when entering the values for the item in the screen, another Stloc needs to be determined and displayed, overwriting the Stloc from the material master data.
For this I probably need a BAPI.
Can anyone tell me which BAPI to use and how I can implement this?
Because I also no experience with BAPI's.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Marco

    Hi Van,
You need to goto SE18 -> give 'ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST'  in BADI Name - > Click on Enhancement Implementation at the header -> Create -> Give some implementation name starts with 'Z ->provide some short description -> Here you need to click on 'Interface' tab -> and double click on the method which serves your purpose.
I think you need to do the enhancement for storage location so you need to use the method 'PROCESS_ITEM'.

    Thanks,
    Siva

  • How to override default security policy?

I know that I can edit the java.policy file in the JRE's security directory...
Is there a more dynamic way of doing it by code? It's a socket problem that I'm facing when trying to open a output stream from a URLConnection.
Anyway of saying allow access to server www.b.com at port blah...
    Anyone get what I'm saying?

Please, can anyone point me in the right direction? Just even some clues will do...

  • CiscoWorks Changing Default Line Input during Config push

If no line input is specified as in this example
    line con 0
    line vty 0 4
    password cisco
    line vty 5 15
    password cisco
does CiscoWorks change the default line input while pushing a configuration to "transport input none"?

Config Editor allows you to edit and download configuration files to devices using a GUI instead of the command line interface (CLI). Use Config Editor to edit individual device configurations within RME and then download them back to a device.

  • Change default security settings for new Discoverer users? How?

Hello, using Discoverer 10g with SSO integration.
I've created two roles and create in advance users in the DB user, granting them
one of the two roles. The two roles privileges for Discoverer are already configured.
This way, when I create the user in the DB before launching Disco, granting the user one or the other role, I should be all set about what the user can or cannot do on Discoverer (Plus).
    So far the theory :)
The problem is that the full permission given by Discoverer to each new user override the role settings, so each new user can do everything (instead one of the roles forbids saving and sharing, for example).
I have to go to Disco Admin and uncheck the "Plus/Viewer" checkbox for the user to make roles actually work as expected.
How can I set Discoverer user default as "Cannot do anything" on Plus/Viewer so that roles apply without further admin intervention?
    Thanks
    Mario

    Thanks a lot Rod.
The problem here is we need to allow portal users the ability to access Discoverer Plus without using Disco Admin: once a user is registered in the SSO, he should be able to connect successfully to Discoverer.
So we need creating user privileges on behalf of Disco Admin.
Tough job, but it seems it ca be done.
    Regards,
    Mario

  • Changing default PNG ppi during export

Can I edit my default export PNG to 300 ppi instead of 72 ppi?

    No, and for two reasons:
    1. Where did you find a PNG export setting? CS4 can export to JPEG
    2. (More important) PNG supports a lot, but it's still a web-targeted format. It doesn't define a ppi setting.

  • Change security policy on passthrough proxy-service?

I've an business-service which is secured by a OWSM policy. The business-service is exposed as a proxy-passthrough (a long with the OWSM policy).
Is it possible to change the security policy for the proxy-service (which is exposing the OWSM policy secured business service) to some other policy or 'just' basic authentication??
    Cheers

  • Create new Security Policy in UME is not available

    Hello,
We are on NW CE 7.1 EHP1 and MII 12.1.7 build 47.
I have MII Super Administrator role, few custom roles and I also have Action "Manage_All" and I am able to perform most of the activities on UME but I don't see any option to create new security policies all I can do is modify the Default Security Policy and save it.
It never shows me an option to create new security policy and I am not sure what roles or actions I am missing.
    1) Are there any roles or actions that my profile needs to have?
    2) Is it something to do with NW CE version or MII version?
    3) Has something gone wrong or have we missed some configuration while installing NW CE or MII?
Any suggestions will be of great help
    Thanks,
    Adarsh

    Adarsh,
I am not a NW UME expert, but I know this issue has nothing to do with MII.  Not sure if you have rights but providing the Administrators Group for the UME database should allow you to do this.
I would try posting this thread on the NW UME Forum.  Modifying policies in NW has nothing to do with MII.
Just to verify what policies are you trying to change, I am assuming they are in NW UME and not MII, is this correct?  If they are in MII can you be more specific.
    Good luck.

  • Option to Create new Security Policy in UME is not available

    Hello,
We are on NW CE 7.1 EHP1 and MII 12.1.7 build 47.
I have "Administrator" role, "MII Super Administrator" role, few custom roles and I also ensured that "Administrator" role has Action "Manage_All" and I am able to perform all of the activities on UME except that I don't see any option to create new security policies, all I can do is modify the Default Security Policy and save it.
It never shows me an option to create new security policy and I am not sure what roles or actions I am missing.
I need have different security polices for different users based on their roles.

    2) Is it something to do with NW CE version?
    3) Has something gone wrong or have we missed some configuration while installing NW CE?
I had posted similar question in MII forum but was recommended to post in NW forums.

    Hi Maheboob
Im glad the note worked -
To find the note , you could do a note search on the message  IW056  you  received and the support pack level you are on ..
For EHP5 the note is valid up to  SAPKH60504.
The  IW056   is listed as a keyword so if you search on it the note should be returned.
    Thanks-
    Enda.
