Changing images in dreamweaver cc responsive starters templates

I am using the included templates in Dreamweaver cc to get a quick start setting up responsive websites.
How can I swap the placeholder images with my own and keep the formatting the same as the placeholder?
In the "About page" template, there are round image placeholders, which I thought were created by CSS formatting, but when I replace them with my own image of the same dimensions, they appear square instead of round, and have their own CSS rule automatically generated.

Or, apply your own CSS classes to images like this.  Feel free to adjust values to suit.
CSS:
.round {border-radius: 20px}
.shadow {box-shadow: 1px 2px 3px #333}
HTML:
<img class="round" src="http://placehold.it/400x300" alt="description">
<img class="round shadow" src="http://placehold.it/400x300" alt="description">

  • How to "auto" change images in Dreamweaver?

Hey guys, happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, ....
Got a request that have seen but never done, client wants the
image to swap to a new image every time the person comes back to
the home page.......there are 10 pix in all I believe.
Anway, I uploaded a snapshot of the home page and placed a
RED BOX around what would be the image swapping...
I assume to some extent it would be a seperate cell with
java?? If so, not sure where to find this code and how long or
simple (OR NOT) it is, or is this something dreamweaver can handle?
He uses go live but I would use Dreamweaver so I guess I could open
his source in DW and go from there.
    Many thanks.
Here is the link....to the snapshot of the home page..

first- you will have to NAME the image-
    <img src="HomePageimages/CartoonScreen.gif" alt=""
    height="143" width="207"
    border="0" />
select it in design view, and in the Property Inspector- give
    it a Name.
    single word- no spaces.
    then- go to THIS page:
    http://www.kaosweaver.com/extensions/details.php?id=5&cid=18
for this extension: Advanced Random Image
consider making a donation- it's a Free Extension here:

I suggest you make a copy of the page to work on-
I will make a donation if I can get it to work.
First I had to batch (fireworks) the images cartoons to be
the same size as the original (not my work) then I installed the
KAOWEAVER extention and selected the image (cartoon) one with the
doctor which you can see in previos links and did the command
KAOWEAVER....now all I get is a red box.
I downloaded the source (from their site), and uploaded the
    cartoons, (resized), the HTML file....
The only thing I was unsure of was the LINK and TARGET for the
Kaoweaver command and maybe that is the problem?
Anyway here is a link of another site that I have done a
scroller and other things for, that I uploaded this test page to.
Please tell me what I did wrong..... note the RED BOX in the
    window...
In the Kaoweaver, I also added the image size, border 0 and
added the name to alt and left subdomain blank, again am wondering
    about LINK and TARGET?

  • Dreamweaver template won't change images

I am using Dreamweaver 5 on a Macbook Pro and I have been trying to change the Header image in my site.  I would go in and change the image using the CSS panel but the image itself will not update.  I've tried deleting the old site definitions and recreating them only to have the same problem.
Nothing will change on my template. It won't aknowledge my changed image "i have saved it under the same image name". i've tried changing the name of the image, re-loading it and still THE OLD IMAGE APPEARS!. What the heck is going on? Can someone please tell me where it is getting this image from when I have clearly changed the image, looked at image to confirm it is in fact the changed image prior to attaching it.
I am completely puzzled and Desperate as my client expects these changes. Thank you.  In the mean time I will try to just upload the changed image to the web and hope the template uses the updated image on the server.
Thank you for any help you can offer.

Dreamweaver 5 means Dreamweaver CS5 correct? Can you give us a bit more info on your workflow? How's your site set up? Where does this image reside in comparison to the root of the site folder (make sure the image gets saved to the site folder)? Is the file path to the image correct? Make sure to turn live view off and back on again?

    Thank you for your attention

Adobe has been trying this and the product is called Muse ( Web design software | Download free Adobe Muse CC trial ).  It doesn't give you the control over the code that most developers prefer but it could help bridge the gap for design if that is what you are looking for.

  • 2 questions - change image size within print cell, and saving print template w/ specific images

    Hi,
Searched the forums for the answer to these but couldn't find much.
    1. Is there a way to change the image size within a cell (under print module). For example, zoom in 140% on a a specific image but still have it within the original cell size?
    2. Say I create and fill in an elaborate print template with my images - is there a way to save the FILLED IN version of the template to edit at a later time? For example if I wanted to load it back up w/ all the original images layed out in the print template, but maybe change a few and resave as jpeg?
    Thank you!

    Hi
I'm not sure but maybe you can use a rectangle to hold the .ai image, resize the rectangle and fit proportionally the image inside it
    hope this help

  • Responsive layout template problem

I created a master page with a responsive layout and then saved as template.
I then went to assets and created "new from template" a new page.
When I save this page as index.htm I get the following error message:
Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template or a translator. The change will be discarded.
Pressing OK then brings up another error box with the following message:
While executing onLoad, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 591 of the file "c:\program files (x86)\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\Configuration\Commands\dmxUpdateHead.htm":
The object is not currently contained in a document.
My website files being developed are on F: drive so I guess this is something to do with the system files.
    USING CS6 / BOOTSTRAP2 / WINDOWS 7
No idea what to do... Welcome any advice.
Thank you in advance for feedback
    Terry

You will get this problem because Automatic File Update has been selected. Click the checkbox to unselect and all is well.
The reason is that the Bootsrap extension tries to refresh the association of the necessary files and the template system rejects this because the associations are located in a non-editable area.
The above dialog can be found by clicking Commands->DMXZone Bootsrap Options.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 bug with templates?

    Hello,
I am having a very major problem with a template. I am on
Dreamweaver CS3 and my template has been created in Dreamweaver 8
and it says in parenthesis (xhtml) - even though all my pages from
    the template are html.
When I now make even the most minor change (even adding one
single letter) to my template or when I try to create a new page
from that template, the resulting pages have missing images (my
whole top banner), but the actual template looks perfect. You can
actually seean example of a page on a test website at
    http://ww2.itrak.com/iTRAKnouveau/
I seem to remember I actually had this problem once before
and I did not have it in Dreamweaver 8 but I am not sure of my
    recollection.
Unfortunately, this time I cannot access Dreamweaver 8
anymore... I am really hoping someone can solve this one with me!!

  • [HELP] Changing Images

    Hi all,
Im new to this forum so please help me
I have downloaded a website template from a website.
After downloading the template, the following files are
    downloaded:
    - A map "images" (all images are .JPG or .GIF)
    - A HTML File called "Index"
    - A CSS File called "style"
    - A PSD Document called "template13" (Name of the template i
    downloaded)
I opened the "template13" file and changed it my way.
At the website there is a banner.
with the following text: "Web technologies company"
I changed it to my company name, i did it this way:
    - I opened the .PSD file thats called template13.psd
    - I Changed the Text and the slogan.
    - I Saved the file "template13.psd
When I open the index.HTML file in Dreamweaver, i still see
    "Webtechnologies Company".
My question is: how do i change the "Webtechnologies Company"
into my own text at the .HTML File?
    Regards,
    Nezzu

Try finding the header image with the company name on it. It
probably is a gif file. One thing I don't get is what you mean by
"A map "images" " ? waht do you mean? Usually you change the text
in the image that is linked to the template. You may have to change
the image for another the same size and name but with the company
name redone in the photoshop (.psd) file and saved for the web in
phtoshop. ie. find the siz e of the header image in pixels and
replace with one of the same size - flattened - with the same file
name and as the same file type. But hard to really know how they
    did it without more details.

  • How to change text + links in footer of existing template

    Hello,
I need to change the text and links on the template footer that goes to all TABs. (Home, Articles, About Bluemont, BCA, Contact Us).The file is named NavigationBlank.dwt."
This footerwas created to link visitors to our "join or contribute" page on another site. Now I want to stop using that external site and build the capacity to take memberships within the BluemontVA.org site itself. However the template footer can't be changed so easily as text on a page.
I am webmaster for a local nonprofit (web address =  www.BluemontVA.org), but work on a website I inherited. It is a wonderful design, but I don't fully understand it. I have not worked with templates before.
I have read O'Reilly on "Adding a basic editable region"  in a template, but need further help.
    A couple questions worry me:
How much damage may I have done already by trying? For example, I do seem to have removed the old text/links and added a new text message on the NavigationBlank.dwt page -- but these changes do not show up on the other TAB pages.
Also, when I place the cursor n the design side  it no longer tracks to the corresponding spot on the code view. (the cursor shows up in code view way above where it is supposed to be by the text). This is true for the home page and also for several pages I took a look at.
Can I follow instructions to change the template from any of the pages on which it appears? Or do I have to be at NavigationBlank.dwt?
Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.

    I'm confused.
Working With Dreamweaver Templates (.dwt files).
    PART 1
        1. Create a page with all the sitewide elements (common header, footer, sidebar,  CSS styles, etc..) that you will need for your project.   This requires some careful pre-planning even for small web sites.
       2. Validate your code & test this prototype page in all major browsers.
       3. When you're completely satisfied with the page layout, SaveAs Template.   DW will save this as a .dwt file in a site folder called Templates.
       4. DW will ask you to add Editable Regions for stuff that will change from page to page.   Do this and SAVE.
       5. Close your Template.dwt file.
    PART 2
       1. File > New Page > from Template.  Select the template you wish to use.  Hit OK.
       2. This is a child page.  An exact duplicate of your Template however you can only edit content within editable regions.  Everything else is locked.
       3. SaveAs index.html (your home page) or some-other-filename.html.
    PART 3
Repeat PART 2 for each additional site page required.
    PART 4
        1. Open your main TEMPLATE file and add a navigation menu with links to your site pages.  Do not put this into an Editable Region!  If you do it won't show up on child pages.
       2. SAVE.
       3. DW will ask if you want to populate changes to child pages.  Hit yes.
       4. Publish all site pages to your server.
    PART 5
If you should ever need to edit your TEMPLATE .dwt file, Repeat PART 4.

I created a jsp page with a button and a image (ImageComponent). When the button is pressed a picture is retrieved from a database and saved on the CLIENTs harddrive (ex: "C:\\img.jpg"). After this the image should be changed to the picture just downloaded from the database.
The tried to call the methode:
    image.setUrl("C:\\img.jpg");
then the current image dissapears, but the new image isn't displayed.
Did I used the right methode, or should I just call some kind of refresh methode? Can you please help.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 reforderss ColdFusion templates

Dreamweaver CS3 reorders ColdFusion template code without

When opening a Dreamweaver 8 ColdFusion page, Dreamweaver CS3

fix as of yet, so Dreamweaver CS3 is completely useless to me as a
    CF editor.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

Dreamweaver CS3 reorders ColdFusion template code without
    being asked
When opening a Dreamweaver 8 ColdFusion page, Dreamweaver CS3
    will reorder some ColdFusion tags.
    For example:
    1. <cfswitch expression="#response.errorcode#">
    2. <cfcase value = "10602">
    3. "..Some Code..."
    4. </cfcase>
    5. <cfdefaultcase>
    6. "...Some_Other_Code.."
    7. </cfdefaultcase>
    8. </cfswitch>
    9. <CFQUERY username="#request.dbuser#"
    password="#request.dbpass#" DATASOURCE="#attributes.DSN#">
    10. Blah blah
    11 .</cfquery>
Saved as a Dreamweaver 8 page and then subsequently opened in
    Dreamweaver CS3 becomes jumbled as:
    1. <cfswitch expression="#response.errorcode#">
    2. <cfcase value = "10602">
    3. "...Some_Code.."
    4.
    5. </cfcase><cfdefaultcase>
    6. "...Some_Other_Code.."
    7. </cfswitch>
    8. </cfdefaultcase><CFQUERY
    username="#request.dbuser#" password="#request.dbpass#"
    DATASOURCE="#attributes.DSN#">
    9. ..blah..blah..
    10. </CFQUERY>
(Note the juxtaposition of the </cfdefaultcase> and
    </cfswitch> tags on lines 7 & 8)
The Command "Clean up XHTML" has no effect.
This behavior occurs on every Mac running DWCS3 in our
office, but doesn't occur on Macs running DW8.
If the CF page is opened in a Text Editor and saved as a Text
doc and then opened in DWCS3 as a Text doc, the code stays intact
    and is not scrambled.
However, as soon as the page is saved with the ".cfm"
extension, DWCS3 scrambles the </cfdefaultcase> and
    </cfswitch> tags.
Adobe Dreamweaver Support has duplicated the error but has no
fix as of yet, so Dreamweaver CS3 is completely useless to me as a
    CF editor.

  • Dynamic Background - Changing images

    Hi,
I'm new to Dreamweaver and also web design. I saw a site with a nice dynamic background that changes images. I was wondering what sort of function would I be looking to code to get the same sort of result? The website I saw was https://www.bizpora.com
    Thanks in Advance

That site is using a JQuery supersized slideshow. You may download here:

  • How do you change image size in the title window?

I just changed operating systems to Windows 7, which meant that I had to re install Premiere Pro CS4. I am now working on a 64 bit system. Might not make any difference, but thought I would give you the specifics just in case.  When I pull up the title window to add a title to my clip, the image is about the size of a postage stamp. How do I increase the size of the image in that window?

Thank you again for responding Hunt. I did find out what what was happening.
I had to reinstall the program on my computer. I just upgraded to Windows 7, and I now have a 64 bit system. When I booted up PPCS4, I assumed that my settings would be the same as they were before when I had Vista installed and didn't bother to check them when I started a new project. Well, they were not. I also added a TV tuner card to my computer. I now can watch HD TV on my computer. I suppose that it is possible that somehow PPCS4 noticed that, and set my default settings to HD, rather than NTSC DV. I just merrily went along clicking the OK button and started editing. When I start a new project now, I select NTSC DV and the Title window works just fine, and exactly the way I expect it to.
I just received Jeff Bellune's book Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 in the mail and will be totally immersed in Encore studies today. With all of his children, I don't see how he had time to write it, but I'm glad that he did. I also ordered a book entitled Designing Menus with Encore DVD. I know that it was written for an earlier version than CS4, but I will trust what you said about that. Many things are the same with some minor variations due to upgrades in the program. The basic ideas don't change, but how you accomplish them can, and usually do over time.

    Welcome to the forum.
That is an odd one. The Title should be the same Frame Size as your Project/Sequence. What is it's Frame Size? Also, are you perhaps doing a Title based on an older Template, that was done for a different Frame Size?
What happens if you choose Title>New Title>Default Still?
    Good luck,
    Hunt
