Changing InfoObject to enable document attribute of a characteristic

Hi,
We have a need to change existing infoObject. Currently it's not document attribute and we need to enable "Characteristic is document attribute" in infoobject maintenance.
But, the characteristic that we are trying to change is used all over (around 10 cubes[including basic cubes as well as BPS planning cubes], 5 ODS, MultiCubes etc..) and all these are in production. The same infoobject is being used at many places in planning levels, packages, functions etc..
This requirement is only in BPS planning. we wanted to add a document to each value of this characteristic in the manual planning layout cell.
What steps do i need to follow before and after changing object?
Does changing miscellaneous property of a characteristic
1.inactivates update rules of a basic cube?
2.inactivates master data tables?
3.have any impact on planning cubes?
4.need to re-align / change planning levels,functions,packages etc..in SEM BPS
5. How to deal with infosources, data sources, queries, reports that use this characteristic
I appreciate sharing your experiences or any suggestions.

The activation has no effect's to
- update rules,
- master data tables,
- infosources or
- queries, reports.
Only ExportSources of the infoobject will be new generated. Then you must be replicate and activate the transferstructur and the transfer rule.

Document attribute ticked on InfoObject which is nav attribute

Hi SDN Community,
We have recently enhanced a query, by removing a natural characteristic Cost Centre Category ZCOBCAT that exists in an infocube, and replaced this with a characteristic which is a navigational attribute - CC Func Code ZCCFUNCCD.
eg. characteristic value with was CC11 is now 11 with this change
On both these characteristics, in the infoObject properties, the "Document attribute" checkbox is ticked.
However, we find that when storing commentary functionality, the comments are applicable against the whole infoObject ZCCFUNCCD. Eg. If the variable input parameters are 11, the comments, are retrieved against 11, and every other value against the ZCCFUNCCD characteristic.
Is it such that navigable attributes enabled against multiproviders will not allow the "Document attribute" against the infoobject to work?
Or is it such i have to enable some other parameter against the Multiprovider or infocube that i have overlooked.

Thank you both for your answers.
As you have indicated, i have verified this:
1) the "Attribute Only" in the Miscallaneous area in the General tab of the infoObject is unticked
2) the "Characteristic is a document attribu" in the Miscallaneous area in the General tab of the infoObject is TICKED as this is what allows storing of documents against the infoObject, and is ticked in the original InfoObject. Are we saying here this should be unticked?
3) ZCCFUNCCD is flagged as a Navigational Attribute in all InfoProviders
4) I have also verified that the Multiprovider has all the assignment correctly ticked for the ZCCFUNCCD is ticked for all the InfoProviders.
What i do find different, is that if i look at 0COSTCENTER, then the attribute ZCCFUNCCD, has a check in the column "Texts of Char." But this should not be causing any issue as this is only using the same description for the Navigational Attribute Display in the queries.
Any other suggestions would be most helpful thanks.

Can anyone tell me if they use this? The documentation states that you can assign a comment for a combination of characteristic values.
Does anyone use this? Is this something users can change or is this for developers?

Hi,
You can specify that a characteristic be used as a document property. This enables you to assign a comment (this can be any document) to a combination of characteristic values. See also Structure linkDocuments and the example Structure linkCharacteristic Is Document Property.
Note
Since it does not make sense to use this comment function for all characteristics, you need to identify explicitly the characteristics that you want to appear in the comments.
If you set this indicator, the system generates a property (attribute) for this characteristic in the metamodel of the document management system. For technical reasons, this property (attribute) has to be written to a (dummy) transport request (the appropriate dialog box appears) but it is not actually transported.

Error while parsing or executing XML-SQL document attribute "action" missin

I am doing a scenario for IDOC to JDBC, When I push IDOC from R/3 , IDOC sent to XI System successfully,

Changing Status of preceeding document in CHARM

Hi Experts ,
I need to change the status of a preceeding document in CHARM.
I created a YDAD document from YDCR.
When i change status of YDAD to cancelled i need to change status of YDCR to Cancelled.
Steps i followed :
1 . While changing status of YDAD to cancelled i added a new parameter PREDOC_STATUS and given status of YDCR as E0009.
2. In "Assign actions" for status "cancelled" of YDAD i hve given a action SET_PREDOC .
3.In "Specify Status Attributes" for status "cancelled" of YDAD i hve given YDCR YDCRHEAD E0009.
But still it is not working . Please help me on this .

How do enable document rights so i can put in a text box on pdf document?

I have a scanned document which has been saved as pdf.
I need to add a text box where I will write a name. Afterwards, I would like to print it out.
But,when I clicked on the "text box tool" and "pencil eraser tool" under tools, there is a message that states "*Only available when document rights is enabled". See below.
How do I enable document rights so I can add a text box to a saved pdf?

It sounds as though you have the PDF open in Reader, which doesn't have the same editing capabilities that Acrobat has. Did you use Acrobat to create the PDF from the scanned document or did you receive the PDF from somebody else? If you have Acrobat, please make sure that you're opening the PDF in Acrobat if you want to edit it.
If you don't have Acrobat, feel free to download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html. Then, you can open the PDF in Acrobat, make the changes that you want using the editing tools, and print the updated PDF.

WS_DOWNLOAD and WS_UPLOAD function calls will need to be replaced with GUI_UPLOAD and GUI_DOWNLOAD or the assocaited methods of the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES. Also, some syntax changes to some statements, like OPEN DATASET will need the ENCODING extension.

Hard to say what is happening without examining the file.

How can I change a Microsoft Word document file into a picture file?

How can I change a Microsoft Word document file into a picture or jpeg file? I am wanting to make the image I created my background on my macbook pro.

After I had the document image the way I wanted it, I saved it as a web page and went from there. Below are the steps starting after I did the "save as" option in Word:
1) Select "Save As Web Page". I changed the location from documents to pictures when the window came up to save it as a web page.
2) Go to "Finder" on you main screen, or if it's on your main toolbar at the bottom.
3) Click on the "Pictures" tab and find the file you just re-saved as a web page. (I included "web page" or something similar in the new title so I could easily find the correct file I was looking for)
4) Open the correct file and then "right click" on the actual image. (Use 2 fingers to do so on a Mac)
5) Select 'Use Image As Desktop Picture", and voilà! The personally created image, or whatever it is that you wanted, is now your background.
**One problem I encountered while doing this is that the image would show up like it was right-aligned in relation to the whole screen. The only way I could figure how to fix this was to go back to the very original document in Word, (the one before it was saved as a web page), and move everything over to the left.
I hope this helps someone else who was as frustrated as I was with something that I thought would have been very simple to do! If you have any tips or suggestions of your own, please feel free to share. : )

Is it possible to change the description of an attribute in the local view

I have a characteristic in a query which has multiple attributes. In the global view I am able to change the descriptions on the attributes. But the local view does not show the updated descriptions - it shows the descriptions from the multiprovider? Any way I can match up the local and global view for the attribute descriptions ?

When I am trying to use the rotate tools inside photoshop, I get a the NO sign with an error message: "Could Not Complete Your request Because It Only Works with OpenGL Enabled Document Windows". I don't understand why this is happening. I have an OPenGL Graphic card. Qudro K600 and every thing seems okay under the Performance section in the Preferences menu? I would appreciate any help? Photoshop is recognising my Quadro K600 graphic card and all options are checked, and I am getting the above error message. It's annoying as I can't use the Rotate tool inside Photoshop or on my Wacom tablet. I also uninstalled my Graphic card driver and installed the latest driver. I hope someone can resolve this problem for me? Thank you.

hello, friend.
you should be able to see changes done after the initial creation and saving, by going thru Environment > Changes. try it again, and this time make sure that changes were done to the billing document prior to posting to accounting.
normally, when configuration of Billing is done correctly, there will be little or no instances of changing anything in the Billing document, as saving the document after creation will post this to Accounting. of course, inclusion of a posting block in the billing type will provide you the opportunity for changes.

Not able to change the name of the attribute of the Table operator.

We are trying to create OMB scripts to automate certain tasks. As a part of this, there is a requirement to change the attribute name of table operators (which by default gets the name of the column). It is possible to change the attribute name from the GUI. But I was not able to do the same using OMB Scripting. Here is the script I used.

This script was to change the name of the attribute - GEOGRAPHY_ID of the table operator TEST.
From what I can make out from the Scripting reference, changing BUSINESS_NAME of the attribute should do the trick but it is not happening. The syntax looks correct as the precision of the column changes.
Am I missing something? Or is it a limitation or a bug?
I use OWB client 10.2.0.1.25 and OWB repository 10.2.0.1.0.
