Changing or Deleting Uploaded CSS file

I am having a problem modifying an uploaded CSS file. I uploaded it just fine but now when I go to the Edit Cascading Style Sheet page and click any of the three buttons (Cancel, Delete, Apply Changes) I get a page not found error with the following URL https://<servername>/pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept. If I then press the refresh button I get this error:
Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
Error ERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept.
OK
I'm sure it is something wrong with the environment because it works great on the Application Express version I have loaded on my laptop.

ddloyd,
Your CSS is too large to edit directly and save. We attempt to prevent you from doing that, but ultimately, we base our size calculation on the actual size and not the eventual size of the encoded data that will be posted.
You have really two options - either break this up into multiple CSS files, or edit locally and upload again.
I hope this helps.

  • Dreamweaver is randomly deleting my .css file and then crashing...need help ASAP!

    I use Dreamweaver CS 5.5 at my job.  I just built a new website for the company using it and for a while, it was deleting the css file completely while in dreamweaver, but it had the little * next to the title like it hadn't been saved.  i would usually try to close it without saving or crashing it which is normally does after this happens.  So far, the css files have not been totally deleted...yet.  I'm not waiting around for that to happen before I try to fix it.  I've searched google and the forums and have found nothing or any related topics.  I had my computer completely reformatted and that seemed to have fixed it for a short time.  Now I'm on another web project and it's doing it again, but this site is bigger and more important than the last, and I don't have as much time to work on it.  Has anyone come across this bug at all?  I need to get this fixed ASAP...I would really hate to lose my files.  I tend to hit Ctrl+S instinctively these days and i'd hate to do that while it's been deleted.  not to mention the downtime of restarting Dreamweaver only to have it do it again 5 minutes later.
    Computer specs:
    Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-Bit
    Dreamweaver CS 5.5
    24GB RAM
    intel Xeon X5650 @ 2.67GHz/2.66GHz (2 processors - 24 cores)
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 570
    Please let me know if there are any solutions to this.  Thank you!

    Hmmmm....  When file content randomly disappears, it's usually a symptom of something much deeper -- like a nasty Trojan/Virus,  a failing hard drive, bad CPU or corrupt user account.
    You can try the usual DW solutions below,  but I think you might want your IT guys/gals to run some diagnostics on your computer.
    #1 Ensure your CSS & HTML files contain valid code.  Use the W3C tools below.
    http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    http://validator.w3.org/
    # 2 When DW starts acting weird, the first thing to try is Deleting Corrupted Cache in DW
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/494811
    #3 If that doesn't help, try Restore Preferences
    http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/restore-preferences-dreamweaver-cs4-cs5.html
    #4 If all else fails, use the CS Cleaner Tools below followed by a software re-install.

  • Uploading CSS file

    Hello:
    I uploaded a CSS file that I would like to use for my application.
    I selected the template for Page and modified the following line to say this:
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#theme14.css" type="text/css">.
    When I applied the changes and ran my application, this CSS file did not go into effect. My application is still using the CSS file that is associated with that particular theme.
    Can someone help me figure out why my custom CSS file is not being used for formatting?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    I put my line in place of the APEX line not after it. Are you saying that the header section should look like this:
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_14/theme_3_1.css" type="text/css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#theme14.css" type="text/css" />There should be two lines?

  • Css-file on Romote Site does not show changes

    hello
    I use Dreamweaver CS4 on Win7 64bit system.
    I have a new website in construction and today the developer made changes to the Style.css file. Made the changes on an other computer and not in Dreamweaver.
    Now, when I open the Style.css file from the Remote Site, it does not show the changes that were made. However when I delete the Style.css file in my Local Files directory and copy the Style.css file from the Remote Site to the Local Files and open it from the Local Files in Dreamweaver, it shows the new file with the changes that were made. But the Remote file keeps showing the old data.
    I took several steps to try to eliminate this problem. Closing Dreamweaver and deleting the Configuration folders in Users>[NameUser]>AppData>Roaming>Adobe>Dreamweaver CS4> Both in en_US and nl_NL, although the latter did not contain any files.
    This did not work. Deleted the Style.css file on my Remote Site and uploaded it again from my Local Files. Nope. Still shows rthe css-file with the old data.
    Anybody any idea where Dreamweaver gets these old data from and how to make it work differently?
    greetings, Lex van de Oudeweetering

    Hello Ken
    I did not say my page is troubled. The trouble is that the style.css file opened from the Remote Site in Dreamweaver shows the wrong data, but in effect has the right data, because when copied to the Local Files and opened from there it shows the right data.
    The link to the page/site in construction is http://www.lex-illustrator.nl/lexillus
    And I have made screenshots of the opend css files and assembled them beside each other.
    On the left opened from the Local Files and on the right side the same css file opened from the Remote site.
    The orange dots indicate where they differ, the green ones the items that were changed today. So it's not a problem of only today.
    http://www.lex-illustrator.nl/2xcss.gif
    And I have to say I had issues before with updating files to the Remote server and how Dreamweaver shows them. Much of the times I have to delete the Remote file first to get it dispayed right if I check if it has worked by trying to open it from the Remote server.
    So it's not only limited to this site under construction. It looks like a Dreamweaver thing to me.
    Greetings, Lex

  • CSS file will not sync with website

    I'm having this really weird problem with Dreamweaver CS5.5.
    I use Dreamweaver to sync stuff onto my website, and everything else will sync fine, except the CSS file. My CSS files are just inside a folder called "css". When I sync, everything says "operation successful", but when I open my webpage, and view source, it still has the old css file from like a few days ago. I even tried to manually delete the css file from my website, then re-sync it up, it STILL loads back the old file (the old file is nonexistent on my computer now, I made many edits on it and saved over it). What in the world?
    Does anyone know what's happening here? Never experienced this error before...
    I'm using Dreamweaver from Master Collection 5.5, if that matters.

    Hi
    Have you tried emptying your browsers cache and refreshing the page in the browser?

  • Uploading the file as a blob to oracle database

    Hi..I wrote a program to upload the files as a blob to the database. It works fine for JSP files but when i try to upload a css file...it gives "No more data to read from socket" exception. I have tried all combinations like trying to upload css file first and then a jsp file and then multiple jsp file and then a css file and so on, thinking that it might be a storage problem. But it gives an error only for the css files...could there be any delimiter kind of symbol or something in the css file which make the oracle think that it is the end of file? Just a guess...any help is appreciated...
    n btw i upload the file using the file input stream and then i use preparedStatement.setBinaryStream method ....
    TIA

    Damn it...I cant believe that i took this long to figure it out...the maximum size of the file that my blob can store is 4 kb...and all my css files are bigger than that...wasted so many hours on this...:(

  • Use uploaded images in uploaded CSS

    Unable to reference uploaded image files inside an UPLOADED css file.
    For example in UPLOADED css file:
    .LeftTabForeSlant { background-image: url(#APP_IMAGES#my_image.gif) };
    Have also tried WORKSPACE_IMAGES(after moving image file) and have tried it as a quoted string inside parens.
    Any ideas?

    Absolutely! The idea is to create classes for styles will be used on multiple pages. You put these classes in your css which is included in your page template. Like images, modern browsers will cache your css on the first page view and used the cached version for subsequent page views. I've used this exact technique throughout HTML DB to reduce the page size. On average I was able to cut the size of a page in half. This translates to faster loading pages.
    To maximize the benefits of this technique, learn css selectors. CSS selectors allow you to modify the style of additional attributes of the page without adding any additional text. The following is an example:
    Example 1 CSS:
    table.ex1{border:1px #888888 solid;}
    td.ex1Cell{color:#ff0000;}
    a.ex1Link:link{color:#0000ff;}
    a.ex1Link:visited{color:#0000ff;}
    a.ex1Link:hover{color:#00ff00;}
    Example 1 HTML:
    <table class="ex1"><tr>
    <td class="ex1Cell">Some Text.<a class="ex1Link">A link</a></td>
    </tr></table>
    Example 2: CSS
    table.ex1{border:1px #888888 solid;}
    table.ex1 td{color:#ff0000;}
    table.ex1 td a:link{color:#0000ff;}
    table.ex1 td a:visited{color:#0000ff;}
    table.ex1 td a:hover{color:#00ff00;}
    Example 2 HTML:
    <table class="ex1"><tr>
    <td>Some Text.<a>A link</a></td>
    </tr></table>
    Notice how much smaller the HTML was in example 2? The second line of the css in example says:
    Any td that is a child of a table with class=ex1, make the font red. This means I don't have to apply "class=..." to so many elements, thus cutting down on the size of my page.

  • Changing the name of a uploaded excel file

    Hi everyone,
    I am being able to manage to change the name of a excel file when I am working on a scenario with a single file like this:
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/204/67859086.jpg/
    Here goes the BUT, but when I am trying to upload several files at the same time, I am not being able to rename the files.
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/694/16392664.jpg/
    When I do have several file the package works like this:
    It list all the excel files and stores them into a *.LST file, after that it stores the names on a table. After that it uses a wildcard excel file to put the info to be uploaded, the on the scenario it transforms the data and uploads it into the target tables, then I supposedly change the name but it does not work.
    Then It moves the file to another folder, and erase the name from the temp table….
    I do really appreciate your help and guidance.
    Please do not hesitate to contact me if any further information is required.
    Best regards.
    Jaison

    There is an interface as step 2. I had similar issue once when I wanted to delete Excel file that was just used via Windows ODBC driver in a step before. Solution there was to create two packages, one doing the job and a wait step at the end the other one just deletes the file. Now put the two into a master package and run it from there.
    Probably the ODBC driver has the *.xls file still in some kind of stale/cached access.

  • Muse uploading EVERY file, even though it's only supposed to upload changed files

    When I publish my site, I make sure that I specify that ONLY files/pages that have been changed are to be uploaded. Ever since the last "upgrade", Muse is uploading EVERY file, whether it's been changed or not. Also, the upload speed it sllllllllllooooooooooooowwwww. I only have 57 files, all extremely small, but it's taken over 15 minutes to upload to the BC server! Even css files are taking over a minute. This is ridiculous.

    Hello Bruce,
    I just tested on my website and it seems to upload only the edited filed and not all the files.
    Please confirm if you are selecting "Upload only modified files" while uploading the files to BC or not. Please have a look at the screenshot :
    Also please confirm if you are making any changes to the Master page or not. If you are making changes into Master page then it will upload all the files again as the changes are reflected to all the pages.
    Hope this helps.

  • CSS files won't upload to server after update

    Hi,
    I checked 'Automaticaly upload files to server on save'
    But it when I make changes to the css in the css panel or in the file,
    the css file is never put on the server. Even if I open the css file and save it,
    it still doesn't get put on the server, I have to specificaly click the 'put' icon and choose put.
    This is VERY inconveinient.
    HELP.
    When I make a change to the css in the css panel or in the file and click save or save all, the
    css file should be put on the testing server.

    Actually this is working as intended.
    You don't mention what version of DW you are using but when making your changes and you have the css file selected in the related files across the top of your page - the css page will indeed upload on save if you have it set that way. If you have the main layout selected and you change an external css file you will notice that an asterisk is placed beside the css file in the related files. Even hitting save at that point won't save the css file and upload it unless you actually have the css file selected when you hit save.

  • Muse site uploaded to Business catalyst, where are the css files?

    Hello.
    I've uploaded a site created in Muse to my Business Catalyst account. I want to access the css files but in Business catalyst Admin/Site Manager there is no File Manager for the CSS files. How do I make any change? I know I can make changes in the page editor but I need the CSS files as well. Similarly, how do I replace an image, I can't find an images folder either? Do all of these changes have to be done in the Muse program itself?
    Muse is new to me so thank you for any help.
    Grant

    Hi Grant,
    Because for now CSS and HTML file editing is incompatible with Muse (e.g. republishing your site will potentially overwrite all the changes), we've decided to hide the file manager for Muse users.
    However, there is a way to re-enable it. In order to enable site management for your user, please log into your site, and click on "My Details" (upper right). In the My details page, please check the option "Enable online content editing (incompatible with Muse)", and enter the password to confirm. A new entry (Site Manager) will appear in your menu.
    A similar case here:

  • Change CSS file programatically

    Hello,
    Is there a way to change the CSS file that it's applyed to the project programatically?
    Example:
    The user enters the application and want's to change it's appearence by giving it a new CSS, so he uploads a .CSS file which should then be applyed to the application.
    Thanks,
    Rui Belchior

    Maybe the CSS can be dynamically generated and made available via a servlet (or any other dynamic technology).
    Note also that the Style property of any component can be bound to a Java property:
    Right-click on a component, choose Property bindings..., select 'style' in the left column, and bind it to a Java property.

  • When I try to upload a file it goes through the correct proceedure, but does not change the remote file i.e.Index.htm

    Hi
    I have an uploading problem to the server. The problem is when I try to upload a file it goes through the correct proceedure,
    but does not change the remote file i.e.Index.htm, or three stages1.htm.
    My Localroot folder is C:\Gods Plan Web\
    The site map layout is C:\Gods Plan Web\Index.htm
    The folder for the remote site is /public_html/
    Should the local root folder mirror the remote site, i.e./public_html/
    if this is so, what should I put into the
    (a) Local Root Folder box?
    (b) site map layout box?
    The FTP is performing well other than changing the intended file.

    You should be uploading only the contents of your local root to the public_html folder (remote root).
    The index.html you use as your site's home page needs to be in your site root. If you look at your Files window in DW, you should have something like the following...
    Site - Whatever you named your site
         index.html
         images
         pages
              page1.html
              page2.html
    If you have any folder between Site - and the index.html page, like...
    Site - Whatever you named your site
         mywebsite
              index.html
    It will upload to the public_html while still in that folder, so to find your page online, you would need to type something like...
    www.mydomain.com/mywebsite
    public_html should NOT appear within your local files and if it existed there, would cause a redundancy if uploaded. You would need to type www.yourdomain.com/public_html to see the uploaded pages.
    If you could post a screen shot of your expanded Files window while connected to the server (just connect and click the Expand button in Files, don't drill down into any of the directories), we may be able to see the issue.
