Changing video frame width and height...

In Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5 I cannot seem to produce (output) a video larger than frame width: 720 and frame height: 480. The video is recorded in full HD 1920 x 1080p but after editing and adding effects in Premiere Pro CS5, the video changes to only 720 x 480.
1) Where are the settings in Premiere Pro changed to produce a video size of frame width: 1280 and frame height: 720 or even frame width: 1920 and height: 1080?
2) Is it possible to produce a video at 1920 x 1080 or is 720 x 480 the max?
Your time is appreciated.

John,
For now I will be using the videos for youtube promos and viewing on desktops but if I were, I would more likely output to DVD.  From what I understand it doesnt matter if I output 720 x 480 or 1920 x 1080 if it's going on youtube, however I would like the best quality video possible given that these videos wont be very long. (Elaborate on this if you can clear some stuff up for me).
Also, I may have mislead readers with my thread title "Changing video frame width and height."  I guess a more accurate title would be "How to Change frame width and height of Video Output."  Don't get me wrong 720 x 480 looks great on my desktop, but I would also like to output one at 1280 x 720?

    Following is my attempt at writing a function for width and height. It appears to work on rotated and sheared objects. Can anyone tell me if I'm on the right track?
    >function WidthAndHeight(myRectangle) // Returns an array [width,height]
    ]var myRectangleTopLeft = myRectangle.resolve(AnchorPoint.topLeftAnchor, CoordinateSpaces.pasteboardCoordinates, true);
    var myRectangleTopRight = myRectangle.resolve(AnchorPoint.topRightAnchor, CoordinateSpaces.pasteboardCoordinates, true);
    var myRectangleBottomLeft = myRectangle.resolve(AnchorPoint.bottomLeftAnchor, CoordinateSpaces.pasteboardCoordinates, true);
    ]var d1x = (myRectangleTopRight[0][0] - myRectangleTopLeft[0][0]);
    var d1y = (myRectangleTopRight[0][1] - myRectangleTopLeft[0][1]);
    var myWidth = hypotenuse(d1x,d1y);
    var d2x = (myRectangleTopLeft[0][0] - myRectangleBottomLeft[0][0]);
    var d2y = (myRectangleTopLeft[0][1] - myRectangleBottomLeft[0][1]);
    var myHeight = hypotenuse(d2x,d2y);
    ]return [myWidth,myHeight];
    ]function hypotenuse(d1,d2)
    ]]return Math.sqrt ( Math.pow(d1,2) + Math.pow(d2,2) );

    Dave, you are absolutely right (no surprise here) about always returning points. I'm not sure, but I think this may actually be an InDesign bug. At the end of the 'resolve' method the 'true' value is meant to indicate 'use ruler units', I believe. Having read the documentation, however, it does seem like certain transformation coordinate spaces functions only work in points.
    To make this a more complete function, I've updated it to include a conversion to the current ruler units. I'm using the UnitValue object, and perhaps I'm misunderstanding something, but I cannot easily convert to a new UnitValue using the ruler measurements enumerations (it requires a string value to represent the target units). So I've had to include a switch function to get from the enumeration to the string value. Also, the UnitValue object does not seem to work with agates, and I haven't gone so far as to write my own conversion function for that, so the function has to exit with an alert if the user has agates as their ruler units.
    If anyone can offer a more elegant way of dealing with this, it would be great. Or even better, some insight into why the resolve method does not seem to honour the ruler units. This _is_ getting a bit over-the-top for a simple width and height function. Maybe Adobe will consider just adding the property to the page item and putting us all (well, certainly me, anyway) out of our misery (I've put in a feature request).

  • Changing af:messages width and height

    Hi gang
    Does anybody have a suggestion how I can expand the default width and height of the af:messages popup under JDev 11.1.1.2.0? From what I can see there are no styles defined in the skin, no properties on the component, and the inline style width/height properties are ignored.
    Your help appreciated.
    Regards,
    CM.

    I have to agree with 9 of the 14 respondents Keyshia Cole's new nose is indeed natural looking :-)
    The problem we're getting is two fold:
    a) Occasionally our error messages have long words, the messages tag isn't hard wrapping, and this is resulting in a horizontal scroll bar.
    b) Sometimes the number of messages displayed is greater than the vertical space, so we get a vertical scroll bar.
    c) Sometimes both, which looks cr@p.
    The combination can make the app less user friendly as the user has trouble assessing/reading the error messages.
    While we can do some minor tweaking to minimize word length and number of error messages, the preferred method would be just to increase the size of the dialog.

  • Change the width and height of Landscape Layout for a report in 10G

    Hi,
    I'm new to reports and when i built the report in report builder 10g, the layout orientation was 'Landscape', hence I assumed that it'll be a landscape layout.
    However, the width and height fields of the main section are 11 and 20 respectively. However, the height should ideally be 8.5. When i try to change it I get the following error message :
    Layout canvas must remain large enough to fit layout objects.
    Could you please tell me how to change the height of this landscape layout to 8.5 from 20.
    The report has several main frames within a repeating frame, since the same report has to run multiple times.
    Is it possible to have a repeating page across pages (crossing the horizontal margin) and hence have some of the main frames move down to the next page. I'm trying to do this to then be able to reduce the height of the main section of the report to 8.5. Its not working though because I'm getting the following error :
    REP 1814 : Report cannot be formatted. Object "vertically" can never fit R_Main (the name of the repeating frame enclosing all objects)
    Thanks,
    Priyanka

    To reduce the Hieght, first make the layout design fit into the new value..

  • How to change the width and height of the visible part of the of the report

    I have define a report with paper size 'Letter', orientation 'landscape' and 30 columns. Dynamically I am changing width of columns and suppressing many columns of the report.
    Mostly using first 16-20 columns and others get suppressed.
    Now problem is that when navigating the report thru crystal viewer, a huge blank spaces getting display on right of the report. When we take jump to some part of report thru navigation tree, the whole report gets shifted to left and only blank part is visible and it is required to scroll left.
    Even printing is not working correctly.
    Is there any way to change the width and height of the visible part of the report in the viewer thru .net classes? Setting the width and height of the report in Load event handler doesn't help.
    Example: CrystalReportViewer1.Width = 200; - is not helping.
    Is there any other solution?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks
    Mahesh Patel

    Hi Yogesh,
    Your suggestion 'reportDocument.PrintOptions.PaperSize=PaperSize.PaperLedger;' along with 'PaperOrientation' setting as follow works fine. I tried to switch between Landscape and Portrait depending on report width.
    reportDocument.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape;
    But problem with crystal viewer remain as it is.
    While navigating report thru crystal viewer, when we take jump to some part of report thru navigation tree, the whole report gets shifted to left and it is required to scroll left.
    Thanks for your very good suggestion.

  • Change width and height

    Hello, how can i change widht and hight on iWeb?

    welcome to the forum, to change anything in iweb use the inspector panel. Choose page - layout to alter the width and height. The inspector panel is at the bottom of the page and the page set-up is the second icon along the top of the panel. Hope that makes sense and gets you up and running.

  • How do i resize videos from my iPhone into iMovie so that they are the correct width and height as a standard youtube is ????

    Hey guys i have recorded some videos on my iphone and i have synced them to my mac.
    i would now like to edit them using imovie, the only problem i have is that when i open them in imovie, quicktime, vlc etc etc, they all playback at the same width and height as the iphone screen.
    now is there any way using imovie that i would be able to resize the video to make it larger so that the video is the correct height and width of a video that you would see on youtube.
    If this makes sense and if there is anyway of doing please let me know as i have tried looking for a shortcut or a plug in everywhere and i just cant seem to do it.

  • Getting maximum width and height of frame

    In my Flash CS4 application I have a problem working out the maximum x and y coordinates of the display objects that have been created in a frame using the frame editor. This is the sequence
    1. Using the frame editor on the timeline, I create a keyframe with a mixture of library symbols and text/graphics which are not symbols.
    2. In AS3 I take all of the screen objects and make them children of a Sprite that I created in my AS3 script. I then delete the objects off the screen and pass the parent Sprite to a class that I use to manage the screen.
    3. In the manage screen class the first thing I do is go through the child display objects to work out the maximum x and y coordinates so that I can centralise them on the screen later on.
    The problem is that I'm not able to work out the maximum x & y coordinates correctly. There is no problem with the symbol objects, I just add the x and width for example, for the maximum x coordinate. But for the non symbol objects this does not work. They appear to be combined in some way and the x/y & width/height do not seem to correspond to anything in the frame editor.
    Is there a writeup anywhere on how Flash manages the graphics/text obects which are not symbols and are created by the editor in keyframes on the timeline? Finding the maximum x and y coordinates of a screen full of objects should be fairly simple, but I cannot see a way of doing it at the moment.

    On my JPanel I want to draw stuff, and for this I need to know the > > width and height of the JPanelIf you are drawing stuff, then you are in control off
    how big you want to draw the stuff. You can make the
    panel as big or small as you want and do your drawing
    accordingly.But doesn't the Layoutmanager of the frame set the size of the added panel according to the rest of the layout, or am I way off here?
    Do I need to setPreferredSize() or anything on thepanel before pack()?
    Try it and see what happens. If you don't give the
    panel a size then the pack() method basically ignores
    it as you have found out.Perhaps if I gave an example, you could point me in the right direction? The code below creates a JPanel of size 200x200, and draws a ball at a random spot on the panel. But since the frame is way bigger than 200x200 the panel gets stretched by the layoutmanager (right?). So what I really want to use when I calculate the x and y position is the width and height of the panel as it is displayed in the frame.
    Here goes:
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    class MyFrame extends JFrame {
      public MyFrame() {
        super("A ball");
        JPanel panel = new JPanel();
        panel.setSize(200, 200);
        int x = (int)(Math.random()*200);
        int y = (int)(Math.random()*200);
        panel.add(new Ball(x, y));    // Object Ball draws a ball at x,y
        getContentPane().add(panel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
        setSize(640, 480);
        show();
      public static void main(String[] args) {
        new MyFrame();
    }

  • Camera Image Display - changing width and height.

    Ok, so I wrote this simple program, but for some reason i cant control the offsets, width and height (attributes related to the image display on front panel). When i go to MAX, i am able to change these attributes, why cant i do it in labview? Any ideas?

    You need to put the width and height controls inside your loop to adjust while running.
    From the image you provided, the width and height are set once outside the loop, and then you sit in the loop, so they can't be adjusted again.

  • Change width and height in a rich symbol

    Hi!
    I'm trying to build a rich symbol in fw cs4 so I can use it in multiple projects and I'd need some boxes to scale to certain sizes I would assign through the properties panel.
    Is it possible? I've seen in former versions that both width and height are read-only but I can't find anything for current version.
    Also, if possible, can I set the x and y position?
    What I've been trying is:
    box.height = height;
    box.width  = width;
    where box is an element (I've changed other properties and it works) and height and width are values (which also work)
    Thanks a lot

    I need to know if this is possible, too!
    Hopefully this is working somehow.
    Thanks

    It could be that I'm older and have forgotten. I'm now 73 and will admit I have forgotten many things over the years. I have been using Photoshop since Photoshop version 3.  And can not really recall which features or changes were made in ever version of Photoshop I have installed.  Adobe has added many features over the years. The number of bugs introduce has also greatly increased after CS3.  "New Doc Sizes.psp"  in your user id preferences is edited using the two buttons in the new document dialog.
    As for guide lines in new documents Photoshop CS6 or CC seem to add some for video file presets with guide lines.  I do not know how to edit or add guide line to new doc presets. Guide line actions are easy to create. I have also seem some guideline in new documents when I did not expect any perhaps a new bug. Photoshop like most software has bugs. If you do not see Adobe new presets perhaps you copied an old  "New Doc Sizes.psp"  over Adobe's newer default file or Adobe migrared you presets and wand wiped their presets out. There are bugs. Close Photoshop down and rename your current  "New Doc Sizes.psp"  in you user id Photoshop cc preferences folder and start Photoshop it will add a dedault  "New Doc Sizes.psp"  file see if you see Adobe new presets in the new doc pull down when you select video and film...

  • I want to play video on my computer to make some analysis to frames,the problem that I face ,I can't change video frame rate using labview,but I can change frame rate to the video out of labview using some program

    HI All
    I want to play video on my computer to make some analysis to it's frames,the problem that I face ,I can't change video frame rate using labview,but I can change frame rate to the video out of labview using some program .
    I used IMAQ AVI Read Frame VI
    for example I have avi video It's frame rate is 25 fbs ,my image processing code is very fast that can process more 25 fbs,so I want to accelerate video acquisition

    Hi abdelhady,
    I looked into this further, and reading an AVI file into LabVIEW faster than its frames per second won't be possible. LabVIEW could read in frames faster than 25fps, but because it will be pulling the available frame at that point in time this would just give you duplicate frames. If you want to be able to read in frames at faster than 25fps, you would need to speed up your AVI file before reading into LabVIEW.
    There's a good shipping example to show how to read in from an AVI file, "Read AVI File.vi". You'll notice that they add timing to make sure that the while loop runs at the right speed to match up with the frames per second of the file being read. This is to make sure you're not reading duplicate frames.

  • How to set a minimum width and height for a stage or scene?

    Hello,
    Does anyone how to set a minimum width and height for a stage or scene?
    I tried listening for width/height property value changes and then adjust the width/height if necessary, but that causes unpleasant flickering of the window.
    In JavaFX 2.1 beta SDK for Mac OS, the Stage class has setMinWidth() and setMinHeight() functions which work very well.
    I'm wondering what's the equivalent way to do that when using the FX SDK for Windows.
    Any help is appreciated!

    I was wondering how to enforce a minimum stage size with JavaFX 2.0.3.The same flickering way you are currently doing it. See: http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-15200 "Need a way to set the minimum size of a window"
