Character Entities - too SMALL

Is there any way to change the font size for the drop down
help menu when typing character entities? I have tried changing the
code view point size but the help menu remains the same size no
matter what...
Just to clarify, I am not asking how to change the point size
of the document - just the drop down dialog box that allows you to
chose which character entity you want to select.
Thanks!

Rarely. This is a user to user forum, not an official
communication link to
Adobe.
If you need to communicate directly with Adobe, you would
have to contact
them directly.

  • Shuttle Demo Throws Error ORA-06502: PL/SQL: Character buffer too small

    Hello All.
I am using Carl Backstrom's wonderful shuttle demo in my APEX 2.2 application and am running into this Oracle error "Character string buffer too small". My plsql code is:
    DHTML_SHUTTLE (
'select func,func_id from phone_functions where rownum < 676 order by func',
    'select a.func,a.func_id from phone_functions a, function_phones b where a.func_id = b.func_id and b.phone_id = 2010 order by func',
    '1',
    '2',
    'Y',
    'Y',
    'N',
    '150',
    '350',
    v('WORKSPACE_IMAGES'),
    'first.png',
    'previous.png',
    'next.png',
    'last.png',
    'refresh.png',
    'shuttleRightAll.png',
    'shuttleRight.png',
    'shuttleLeft.png',
    'shuttleLeftAll.png'
I put in the rownum < 676 ti test out how many rows of data it will allow me to
output into the first select list box. I can go only upto 675 rows. After this I always get the error. The column FUNC is defined as varchar2(255). However,
it's largest value is about 60 bytes.
Does anyone know how to overcome this error. I have over 1000 rows I need to display in the list box.
    Thank you.
    Elie

    Hello,
What is the limit on the number of
bytes/characters one may use in your
shuttle list boxes. Not sure but it's probably the hard 32k limit in which case try the solution that Scott posted above and see if that helps/
Also, is it possible to create multiple shuttle 2-box
    combinations in different
regions on the same APEX page? Would not the
    underlying plsql arrays
become "confused" as to what data is in what array?
Yes you can have more that one set of shuttle on a page. If you look here
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=9655:7
all you have to do is change the pID_1 and pID_2 to a unique integer per each shuttle.
    pID_1 = Form element name. For example, 1 equals F01 and 2 equals F02.
    pID_2 = Form element name. For example, 1 equals F01 and 2 equals F02.
Here's an example of two shuttles in a page, you can see the client side works fine though I didn't change the save procedure it would work as well. http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=9655:6

  • SQL Buffer character limit too small.

I am attempting to execute an .SQL script file using the SQLPlus.exe command line. The script is a simple INSERT statement and executes fine as long as the text being inserted is english. But when the text is translated to either Traditional or Simplified Chinese the script generates the following error:
SP2-0341: line overflow during variable substitution (>3000 characters at line 2)
    Some background information:
    1. The database was created with the National Character Set of AL16UTF16 and the Database Character Set of AL32UTF8.
    2. The data types for the columns being populated are NVARCHAR2 and NCLOB.

I believe that increasing the size of SQL Buffer may fix the problem, but I am unsure of how to do this or if it is even possible.
Thanks in advance for any information that you can provide.
    Mike Z.

I'm not suggesting this is your problem, but
    select status
    into v_status,
from registration_offender_xref But you have declared
v_status  varchar2(10);Much better to declare things like this
v_status  registration_offender_xref.status%type;That way you know your variable is declared with a proper length, if the column length ever changes ... your code doesn't go kaboom.
    Cheers,

  • Size of font on hardware (too small)

    Hi,
A general comment for the Linksys/Cisco design team, not sure where else to post this. I have several Linksys/Cisco products including the Linksys WTR54G travel router and the Linksys SPA2102 ATA. I find the printing on the hardware too small to read, especially in low light situations. I measured the font size on the ATA and the characters on the labels for the plug-in sockets is 1 mm high (that's like 1/8"). These are the words "Internet", "Ethernet", "Line 1", Line 2", "power", etc. On the travel router, the same thing, character size too small. There seems to be room to use much larger character sizes. If someone can pass this onto the team that designs the graphics on the hardware, that would be great.
    Thanks.

    Hi Sastry,
I tried what you said - I clicked the Font Button on Group Labels (which on my chart is on the Y axis) - it contains the names of the Reporting groups - I was able to make the names of the reporting groups (Sugery, Medical, etc.) larger than the default (which seems to be about 12) and then I thought, the thing that I an asking about - what is the label on the x axis (numbers generated by Crystal from 6-32 in the case of my graph) I should be able to change by going into the Data Label Font dialog box.
But I can't get these numbers to change size (which is what the user wants). They are still a tiny font (4 I think) no matter what I do.
    Any more ideas?
    Thanks,
    Dick

  • The ADO NET Source was unable to process the data. ORA-64203: Destination buffer too small to hold CLOB data after character set conversion.

We developed a SSIS Package to pull the data From Oracle source to Sql Server 2012. Here we used ADO.Net source to pull the records from Source but getting the below error after pulling some 40K records.
[ADO NET Source [2]] Error: The ADO NET Source was unable to process the data. ORA-64203: Destination buffer too small to hold CLOB data after character set conversion.
[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRIMEOUTPUTFAILED.
The PrimeOutput method on ADO NET Source returned error code 0xC02090F5.
The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput().
The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component,
but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing.
There may be error messages posted before this with more
    information about the failure.
Anything that we can do to fix this?

    Hi,
      Tried both....
      * Having schema type as Nvarchar(max). - Getting the same error.
      * Instead of ADO.Net Source used OLEDB Source with driver as " Oracle Provide for OLE DB" Getting error as below.
[OLE DB Source [478]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR.  An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005.
[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRIMEOUTPUTFAILED.  The PrimeOutput method on OLE DB Source returned error code 0xC0202009.  The component returned a failure
code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput(). The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component, but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing.  There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the
    failure.
    Additional Info:
       * Here the Source task is getting failed not the conversion or destination task.
    Thanks,
    Loganathan A.

    Thanks for the suggestion Simon.

Unfortunately I get exactly the same error.

  • Abap dump:  internal table too small, condense non-character like fields

    Hi there,
I created a dynamic internal table by:
    CALL FUNCTION 'LVC_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'
    CALL METHOD CL_ALV_TABLE_CREATE=>CREATE_DYNAMIC_TABLE
    ASSIGN IT_EP_TABLE->* TO <IT_DBTABLE>.
        SELECT * FROM (P_TABLE_NAME)
         <b> INTO TABLE <IT_DBTABLE> </b>
It gave the error <b> internal table too small </b> SAPSQL_SELECT_TAB_TOO_SMALL,
so I removed the error by using "into corresponding fields of <IT_DBTABLE>.
But now it is not creating a TXT file by function module from internal table records. As it says the CONDENSE statement cannot be executed and dump occurs: 'OBJECTS_NOT_CHARLIKE' 'The current statement only supports character-type data objects', 'In statement
"CONDENSE" the argument "<F_SOURCE>" can only take a character-type data object'.
It only happens for table AFPO. As I think this table has fields i.e. currency which cannot be treated as characters. Is the move corresponding approach ok. Or how can I create text file with these records.

try creating a dynamic table in the image of the source table and then move-corresponding to the original one. Something like this:
DATA dref TYPE REF TO data.
DATA tabdref TYPE REF TO data.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <dyn_struc> TYPE ANY.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <struc> TYPE ANY.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <tab> TYPE table.
    *create table of your choice
CREATE DATA tabdref TYPE TABLE OF (P_TABLE_NAME).
      ASSIGN tabdref->* TO <tab>.
create a line variable for the above table
CREATE DATA dref like line of <tab>.
    ASSIGN dref->* TO <struc>.
create a line variable for the dynamically created table
CREATE DATA dref like line of <IT_DBTABLE>.
    ASSIGN dref->* TO <dyn_struc>.
    SELECT * FROM (P_TABLE_NAME)
    INTO TABLE <tab>.
    loop at <tab> assigning <struc>.
    move-corresponding <tab> to <dyn_struc>.
    append <dyn_struc> to <IT_DBTABLE>.
    endloop.

  • ORA-06502 (character string buffer too small) on import application via script

    Running apex 4.2.2.00.11

I'm using a script to import my development application to a few production applications.
It worked great on apex 4.1.1, but now I get an 'ORA-06502 PL/SQL numeric of value error: character string buffer too small'
In the command window, I see that the script fails after it starts on the plugins.
My question: is this a bug in 4.2.2?
I could be a incompatible plugin, but how can I found out which plugin?
    My script is quite simple:
In a command window I run

    The script is
    declare

  • Report error:ORA-06502:character string buffer too small. urgent!!

    Hi guys,
My APEX version is 3.0.1.00.08, my application run on my test environment, but on PROD environment, it raised the error:
    report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
In this page, on the left is a tree, the right side is a tabular form, when I click one tree node, it will pass the current node id to the form and the form will display the children data. When I click some tree node, it will raise the ORA-06502 error, but when click some other nodes, it is correct. I don't know why. And on my test environment, it has no this error, the test environment has same version with prod environment, only has less data in database. Could you help me???
I searched in forum, someone says it's LOV problem, if it's LOV problem, all the nodes should have error, why click some nodes are ok?
    Thanks !
    Jessica

I don't think it is related only to the number of rows but also to the content of the rows. So, counting only the number of rows doesn't say anything about if it is going to work or not. My question: can't you filter those entries? Making a choice between 250 entries in a tabular form isn't a simple task. Using popup-key LOV instead would also be a solution. However, if you use popup-key LOV be aware of the fact that you need two index numbers for those.

The error message should have included a line number for you to reference back to your code to know what line the error was occurring on.
That said, look at the documentation for SUBSTR as you are using the third parm incorrectly.  It is length, not end position.  That's your issue.

I am always getting this error message when I first try to run my package.
But this always happen on the first time. When I then try to run it for second time, no problem.
So it can't be due to syntax or logic.
Could it be due to package state?

How are they being initialised? Is it just a straight assignment?
Can you copy + paste the exact error you are getting...

  • OLAP -- ORA-6502: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

    Hi all,
We got installed Oracle 9201. After applying the patch #2761332 (to upgrade up to 9203)
and interim patch #2897078 (9203 Patch 1) we always get OLAP Catalog invalid.
I've tried to mend this problem by doing all it is said in Notes 23268.1 & 226443.1 but
my effort was worthless. OLAP catalog is still invalid though BI_Checkconfig says is okay at all.
Nevertheless, we can create dimensions, cubes and measures well, but other problem arises when
I try to add a dimension to a cube issuing the following command:
    cwm2_olap_cube.add_dimension_to_cube( owner, NAME, owner, DIM_NAME);
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

    ORA-06512: at "OLAPSYS.CWM2_OLAP_CUBE", line 281
Paying attention to other metalink/otn threads about this subject we found similar problems with
Oracle 9203 in Japanese (keeping in mind we use Oracle in Spanish).
Any patch we can apply? Any ideas? Your comments are welcome ...

  • WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_CONDITIONS - ORA-06502 character string buffer too small

    Hi,
I am currently working on a application that can upload CSV files inside many tables. Since I hate reinventing the wheels, I have decided to reverse engineer APEX and APEX APIs that are used by the SQL Workshop to upload CSV files to a single table. Since this feature was tested many times by many developers around the world, I know I can trust the code. If in a future release of APEX those packages are modified, I'll have to update my abstraction layer to call my own packages instead of APEX packages. (This is not an issue for our team.)
    First Step
Use apex_040000.wwv_flow_load_data.create_csv_collection to create an apex collection with the first 20 rows of the csv file. At this step, we can validate the format of a sample of the file without loading all rows of the csv file.
    Second Step
Use apex_040000.wwv_flow_load_data.load_csv_data to upload all rows of the csv file inside a table.
    Third Step
Do whatever you want with the data inside the table. (i.e.: Send the data into multiple tables...)
    Here's my problem..._
After the first or second steps, I display the data using interactive reports. I want to highlight every cells containing "invalid" data. I use apex_040000.wwv_flow_worksheet_api.add_or_update_highlight. When I have too many invalid cells, the IR doesn't show at run time, and you can see ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small on the page.
I would like to know the limitations of IR using the table WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_CONDITIONS. Is there a way to create many highlight conditions inside a single row of WWV_FLOW_WORKSHEET_CONDITIONS ? I want to find the best approach to add hundreds of conditions.
    Thanks
