Characteristic value '5000000000 ' of characteristic 0MATERIAL is not MATN1

Dear Experts,
I am getting one error message while extraction, when executing the DTP .the messge is :
"Characteristic value '5000000000 ' of characteristic 0MATERIAL is not MATN1 -converted"     BRAIN     68          @3R@
what is the meaning of this messege ,Request you to plese suggest me reagarding the same .thanks in advance .

Hi Bhullar,
Have you maintained material length as 18 at ECC and BW sides.
at bw side info object 0material conversion routine as MATN1. seems like you may be maintained as ALPHA. if your using as ALPHA conversion routine then at transfer rules for MATERIAL you can pass output data by suing FM - CONVERSION_EXIT_ALPHA_INPUT.
or if possible then change conversion routine to MATN1 for material(info obj) at data source level or info object maintenance(RSD1) level.
Thanks

  • How to copy characteristic values from Purchase Order to MIGO Goods Receipt

    Dear all,
    I have a configurable material X,
then i create a purchase order for that material and then i input characteristic value in the Purchase Order transaction and save it
However when i do the Goods Receipt transaction via MIGO and using the Purchase Order number that i have created, after i entry the batch number and want to check the classification, the characteristic value are blank, so it is not copied from the Purchase Order
    I've tried guide from

Is there any one who can resolve this problem??
    Regards,

    Hi,
You define the copying rules for a movement type in Customizing for Batch Management under Batch Valuation ,  Valuation for Goods Movement in Inventory Management , Activate Batch Classification for Goods Movements in IM. Please refer below link. Thanking you.

  • Ordering Characteristic Values in the order that you restrict them

    Hi SAP Network,
I have created a BEx query and used up the 2 structures in the Rows area.
I have then placed a characteristic in the columns area and restricted the characteristic .
This characteristic in essence acts like a third structure.
The ordering of the characteristic values when the query is executed is by alphabetical order.
Are you aware if it is possible to have the same order displayed, as to which you drag the characteristic values onto the characteristic, ie. in the order that you choose.
    Thank you in advance.
    Simon

    Hi there,
No it is not possible to make the characteristics sort by the order in which you restricted them.
One weay you could achieve this is by having a sequence navigational attribute (example values: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 etc)  and in the sorting of your characteristic use sort by attribute.
    Best Regards

    Hi,
while inserting an adhoc characteristic value to person through algorithm with different effective dates its working fine
for the first time but for the second time its showing error like "morethan one row matches the specified criteria"
--while entering manually through front-end  its allowing to insert two values for the same characteristic type with different effective dates but if we edit any one of them its showing same error ......
can any one help me out in this? Is there any restriction that there should be only one characteristic value for one characteristic type in an entity?

myBlob.Write(myByteArray, 0, count); //where myByteArray is populated by a file stream and count is the number of bytes to be written to myBlob

    2. Check only when it's not null then dispose blob object, command object, and connection object. (No need to close connection before dispose)

  • No characteristic value of the material in PO

    Hi,
I am testing the configuration material. I've maintianed a class of class type 200 in BOM, and get the PR after running MRP. No any field or view in PO to display the characteristic value of material. How to get it? I thought it should be display somewhere in PO and in the GR view, because the buyer should know what product they should get and the inspector should know what should be inspect and the pass level.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
I checked all the tab in PO and PR, but no any icon to see the characteristic.
I've created a PO for a material which was maintain a class of class type 001, then I've seen the icon 'configuration'.
Is it necessary to maintain a class of class type 001 for the material related class item in BOM? The on line help told that could create some materials with different characteristic value of one characteristic assigned to a class of class type 200, then maintain this class in BOM. System will pick the right material according to the characteristic value in SO.
I am confused that why have to create some materials to do that because this application is to reduce redundance of material. I thought one material is enought, which will be required by the characteristic value and taking this value in PO. Do I have to maintain the class 001 for this? If yes, how can I get the characteristic value of class 001 from same charactieristic in the class 002?

    hi,
I have assigned the characteristic, class to the particular material.
    For example for material A->class--->c203
    assigned characterics are length=2mm
                                              width  =6mm
I want to know these characteristic value for this material  in table.
what are the tables to refer?
    thanks
    Bhuvaneswaran

    Hi,
    Check the tables given below:
    KLAH                   Class Detail
    CABN                  Characteristic Detail
    AUSP/CAWN       Characteristic Values
    CAWNT               Characteristic Value Texts
    KSML                  Characteristic Allocation to Class

  • Numc characteristic values are not saving in AUSP

    Hi All,
I am unable to save numc/Date type characteristic values in AUSP table using CL20N tcode. i am able to retrive CHAR values from AUSP table but NUMC / DATE  values are not saving in this table.
    Regards,
    Praveen

    Hi Praveen,
If you are fetching ATINN from AUSP table, then you need to use conversion routine..
Call the FM  CONVERSION_EXIT_ATINN_* & you will get the converted value.
    Thanks,

  • KE0C133 : Characteristic value does not exist  for charact KMVTNR

    Hi Gurus,
In my system i have the field CO-PA  KMVTNR, assigned to KNVP - LIFNR.
When i try to create a shipment cost, i get the error: "The characteristic KMVTNR (Sales employe) should be posted to Profitability  Analysis (CO-PA). When the system checked the entries, it was established that  the transferred  characteristic value is not valid in CO-PA."
I have debbug, and the problem is that in report RK2FVPKE, check that my value is not a valid PERNR. And it is not, because i am assigning a lifnr number not a pernr number.
I not allways get this error, when i create the same shipment cost in other case. What make that the system check that the value is a valid pernr or not?
    thanks

    Hi Luis
To me, it seems logical that if the pernr is not there, the system gives you an error
In the cases where it did not, can you check if valid pernr exists?? If you create a wwxxx char "without own value maint", it should not check for the valid pernr. But with kmvtnr, I am sure it will check

  • Not able to fetch characteristic Value(ATWRT)

    Hi expert,
By using CLAF_CLASSIFICATION_OF_OBJECTS Function module I am only able to the characteristic description
from AUSP1 field . But My requirement is to  fetch the characteristic value(ATWRT) when we are creating or changing MM01 or MM02.
Could you please tell how can i get characteristic value.
I have found out one BAPI BAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATIONS where characteristic value(CHAR_VALUE field )has been maintained but message is showing BAPI_CLASS_GET_CLASSIFICATIONS has been obsolete. So can I use is BAPi into my program?

    hello rajib bali  ,
    see if this helps you
    1. if you have MATNR and WERKS select single CUOBJ from MARC table
    2. Pass this CUOBJ to VC_I_GET_CONFIGURATION
    Hope it helps...

  • Populate Batch characteristic values in create sales order BAPI

Can anybody help me in populating the batch characteristic values using BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2?
I have checked the related notes provided by SAP, like, 567348 but it will be great if someone can send some code snippet on this.

      Subramanian, Brad and Raja.
Thanks for your suggestions its were useful, with
these i can resolve my problem.
       !!! Best Regards !!!
    Raja
I used the se37 to test bapis, is more easy and fast !!
and you can save data like variant, and you can simulate the real execution without write any code abap,
and re-process the times that you need,
when you know what fields you need you write your abap code faster.
       Thanks !!!

  • BI-IP change characteristic value in FOX

    Hello Guys,
i want to change the characteristic value in FOX.
Therefore the FOX runs through all char combinations to identify the highest
    number for the char test.
This step works fine, but i cant write the value for maxloop in the cube.
If i try, only the old row is deleted, but i dont get a new row with the calculated value for maxloop.
    the code looks like this:
    DATA LOOP TYPE test.
    DATA MINLOOP TYPE test.
    DATA MAXLOOP TYPE test.
    MINLOOP = 00000.
    MAXLOOP = 00000.
    FOREACH LOOP.
    MINLOOP = LOOP.
    IF MINLOOP > MAXLOOP.
    MAXLOOP = MINLOOP.
    ENDIF.
    ENDFOR.
    MAXLOOP = MAXLOOP + 00001.
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, 00200, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #} =
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, maxloop, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #}.
Any suggestions what is wrong here?
    Regards
    T. Mekler

    Hi,
    You have written
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, 00200, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #} =
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, maxloop, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #}.
But as per the statement  MAXLOOP = MAXLOOP + 00001 the MAXLOOP conatins a new figure. Obviously there will not be any record in the cube for this value of MAXLOOP.
You are assigning this to the record with MAXLOOP = 00200, so system is assigning zero to  0AMOUNT for the record that is having MAXLOOP=00200 value.
Make the below corrections and test again:
    DATA NEWLOOP type test.
    NEWLOOP = MAXLOOP + 00001.
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, NEWLOOP, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #} =
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, MAXLOOP, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #}.

  • Fox formula - Copy variable value to a characteristic in IP

    Hi All,
I have to copy the value of a variable to a characteristic in Fox formula in IP. In this scenario I am forecasting data using copy function. Whenever new data is copied I need to save it as a new version. So in the fox formula I have mentioned only 'version' as the field to be changed. I get the value of version automatically from a function module. In BPS I think it is possible but I am using IP.
    Example.
    Copied data
    Customer Material Version Year Qty
    c1            m1          0           2012  10
    c2            m2          0           2012  20
    c3            m3          0           2012   15
This is the reference data got as a result of copy function. In the code I get the version computed from a function module in variable fm_version.
I wrote the logic like this.
    data lv_version type version.
    foreach lv_version.
    {0quant_b, lv_version} = {0quant_b, fm_version}
    endfor.
When it is execute it is showing error as records changed and deleted.
Is it the correct method or is there any other workaround.
I would realyt appreciate your time and effort.
    Thanking you,
    Jerry Jerome

    Hello,
You can use either standard copy function or fox formula.
So here I need to make the version as 1 since it is forecasted for the first time. I am trying to do it with a fox formula. In the fox formula I am trying to change the characteristic value of version from 0 to 1.
You can not change the characteristic value of version from 0 to 1. The copy function or fox formula will copy the key figures from version 0 to 1.
    For example:
The transaction data contains data like -
    customer     material            year     version    qty
    c1                 m1            2012     0           10
    c2                 m2            2012     0            5
After copy you will get both version like this
    customer     material            year     version    qty
    c1                 m1            2012        0        10
    c2                 m2            2012        0         5
    c1                 m1            2012        1        10
    c2                 m2            2012        1         5
    Thanks.

  • Value 'KIRBYu00A0' of characteristic 0SORTL contains invalid characters

    hello experts!
i am facing this error while activating 0vendor. data not available either in info object master neither in psa.
Error Message: Value 'KIRBY ' (hex. '004B004900520042005900A0') of characteristic 0SORTL contains invalid characters
    Message no. BRAIN060
    Diagnosis
Only the following standard characters are valid in characteristic values by default:
    !"%&''()*+,-./:;<=>?_0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ.
Furthermore, characteristic values that only consist of the character # or that begin with ! are not valid.
You are trying to load the invalid characteristic value 1. (hexidecimal representation 004B004900520042005900A0).
    Procedure for System Administration
Try to change the invalid characters to valid characters.
If you want values that contain invalid characters to be admitted into the system, make the appropriate setting in BW Customizing. Refer to the documentation describing the requirements for special characters and the possible consequences.
For more information on the problems involved with valid and invalid characters, click here.
    regards
    vijay

    Hi Vijay,
after KIRBY is a characteristic value which cannot be interpreted by BW properply / is not in the valid char list.
    KRIBY is hex value 004B0049005200420059
the invalid char is hex value 00A0  -> online hex converter didn't found a ASCI match.
To solve the problem you will need to fix the record in the source. Or you go to PSA -> delete all in teh field and re-enter KRIBY.
    Best regards,
    Axel
