Gi,
i have see the if i take a pie chart and a bar chart the way
to create "the content of graph"(the column or a part of pie) is
different if i use bar chart or pie chart.
I am asking for if it's possible having an xml built
automatically the graph.

I'm trying to build a series of charts from xml (sample below). Examples might be a column chart of all scores, or a column chart of all 'fred' values. All the examples I've seen are ArrayCollections, or if they are XML, they are very simple xml. I've tried converting the xml to an ArrayCollection (didn't work) and I've tried using the xml as the datasource. I could loop through and build a simple xml for each chart but there must be an easier way. Any suggestions.

Charting framework access the fields like this item[yField] so any of the y field values that you have given does not work i.e. item["item.detail[0]"] etc. do not work.
For this purpose we created a property called dataFunction on Series, CategoryAxis classes through which you can provide appropriate value for your fields.

You typically use the dataFunction property to access fields in a data provider that are not scalar values, but are instead nested in the data provider. For example, the following data requires a data function to access the fields for a chart's data provider:

Stacked column chart from XML data source

I have an XML file, which lists elements with three
attributes: date, inactive-interval, user-count.
I need to build a stacked column chart with a single column
for each distinct date, one stack for each distinct
inactive-interval for that date, and the height of the stack equal
to the user-count.
I can define ColumnSeries with yField="user-count"
xField="date", but I don't know how to partition the column into
stacks by inactive-interval values.
Here is a sample data set:

Your CategoryAxis id="ha_ccm" uses categoryField="period", and this is the label for the your series (i.e. "Quarter 4/2010"). You cannot have multiple categoryFields for the CategoryAxis; it can only use one data field for the labels. You can use data tips and/or label functions to show the individual series' values on the columns.
Also:
Your labelField in the ColumnSeries are set to a ColumnSet name instead of a field name in your dataprovider.
Font must be embedded if you set ColumnChart.showLabelVertically="true".

Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system after using ext. jars

We are facing following issue. Any recommendations to resolve these issues are highly appreciated.
1. Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system (More details at the end of mail).This is high priority requirement as we have a web based reporting application and users access it over our static IP address.
We are using Java Fx charts in our web application where we built jnlp and jar files in a separate fx project and kept jar and jnlps inside our web project.
It is working fine when we did not used any external jar files and remotely it is accessible. But when we used external jars our project is running on local
system but remotely it is not working due to some path settings. We modified jnlp files where entry of jar files exists and modified the jar path as per our
project. But still it did not work.
Before using external jars inside our java fx project my jnlp looks like:

Apex Charts custom XML integration

Hi All,
I found a chart in Anycharts.com and downloaded its XML.I wanted to integrate this chart with apex. But the XML,which i downloaded uses data from a .csv file. How to integrate this XML with apex. I found we can edit the default XML in the chart generated by. But How does XML take the values from the query which we write. There is only #DATA# at the end of the chart generated by apex and no clue on how and in what format this Data comes.

Others may be able to explain this process better than I but I'll give it my best.
The #DATA# tag that you see in the default custom xml for a chart is a substitution string. When your page is rendered, APEX runs the queries associated with your chart and then creates XML based on the chart type of the series. Next, it takes this XML that it generated and puts it in the chart custom XML where that #DATA# tag is located.
There are other ways to get custom data into your chart. You can create the XML yourself in a page item and then insert the contents of that page item into the custom XML of the chart. This can be an advanced topic, but it really isn't too bad once you get the hang of it. The following link contains some pretty good examples of the things you can do. It even shows you how to format your SQL to obtain similar results. Chart from SQL Colour

I am creating reports in information publisher and wish to include charts from SQL to summarise the data. As some of these reports will include job execution status and similar status fields it would be useful to show Failures in Red and Successes in Green like the "All Targets Status" region on the Enterprise Manager Grid Control home page.
Is there any way I can influence the colour that items are plotted in Pie and other Charts? I am using release Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 10.2.0.1.0.

Hi Siegwin,
Although the data section of your generated chart XML contains references to styles, such as CadetBlue2, yellow, etc, you haven't actually defined those styles within the <period_styles> tags of the XML. Therefore, the chart will apply the default blue colour to each timeline of the chart. You'll see that there's a default style called defaultStyle already generated for you in the XML i.e. <period_style name="defaultStyle"> What you need to do is create your own styles, mirroring the defaultStyle example, in order to apply other colours to your gantt chart. I've updated your XML to include a new yellow style, so you can see that one of the elements of the chart now picks up that colour.

Regarding to the topic with viz Chart. I changed the libary because I was not able to add title and the the prercent values for piece of the chart.

Three options come to my mind.
Option 1: Use SAP transaction SXDA_TOOLS (Object Type BUS2032), Program Type (BAPI) and Program (CREATEFROMDAT2).
Option 2: Use SAP transaction SXDA_TOOLS (Object Type BUS2032), Program Type (DINP) and Program (RVINVB10).
Option 3: Translate the xml to IDoc so that ORDER04 / ORDER05 Idoc can be used to create Sales order (WEDI transaction).

Just use the appropriate API's for that. There are enough API's out which can read/parse/write XML, ini and properties files. E.g. JAXP or DOM4J for xml files, INI4J for ini files and Sun's own java.util.Properties for propertiesfiles.
JSF supports properties files as message bundle and resource bundle so that you can use them for error messages and/or localization.

Update or delete table from XML

Is it possible to update or delete table's row from XML file?

3. I want that xsql servlet will read this xml file and update EMPSAL column depending upon the value of DEPTNO and EMPNO from xml file.
Please let me know how I should use update-request in xsql page.

Printing on Pre-printed stationary from XML Publisher

Hi,
I have a requirement where a report is to be printed on pre-printed stationary from XML Publisher. The stationary would be NCR paper and has to be printed from a dot matrix printer.
My first question is whether report generated from XMLP can be printed thro'
dot matrix printer, coz as far as i know it takes only character format .If yes, do we need any special handling?
If anybody has any experience related to this problem, please let me know the approach.

I see what you've got.
It is not uncommon to use character mode output for pre-printed stationery.
This would appear as draft output from a Dot Matrix printer. I hope you understand what I mean here. It is somthing like printing using fixed width font.
Design and run the report with MODE=CHARACTER from the command line.
You need to figure out and design the layout in such a way that you are printing in the empty spaces provided in the pre-printed stationery. This is usually by trial and error method. You may probably blow several pre-printed stationery sheets before you get it right.

How to retrieve data from XML

I have a scenario where I need to read data from database of xmltype (data type)
Table Structure :
Create table Ex_Tb (id number(30),emp_data XMLType );
I can save xml content in database,
Sample
insert into Ex_Tb values( 1, xmltype ('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><userdata><uniqueid>54321</uniqueid><name>moorthi</name><age>25</age><city>Chennai</city></userdata>'));
Data inserted .
When retrieved from DB I see the data in the generated BO as given below:
