Chart rendering and swf files

Hi:
I am using Apex 4.0.2
I have a dashboard that has several charts on it. I have a couple of issues:
1. The chart rendering takes longer than I would like. I notice that each chart loads a separate swf file by referencing #CHART_TYPE#. In the Anychart documentation they recommend load a nultple type swf for a dashboard (anychart.swf). Is there a way I can load one single swf file instead of load a separate chart for each file?
2. When the page reloads, sometimes one or two of the charts start loading but don't display. If you reload again, they will load. Any idea what the issue may be and how to resolve it?
I would be appreciative of any help.
Regards,
Bruce

Thanks Richard:
I'll give it a go.... but a couple of quick questions:
1. The server is running on a Linux box. Can I set the listener up on my local windows machine and use it from there to test.Yes that's the whole trick of it.. On the blog there are also some articles regarding Linux
BTW if you do put it on your local box, then you will need an oracle client, but I trust that this is logical. :-)
>
2. If I do swap the prod system to use the listener, does the whole setup have to change? For example, at the moment the images are in the XDB - how will this be impacted.Depends on what images you're talking about..
- up/downloads for users stay the same
- CSS etc (the apex images folder) will reside in the filesystem

Thanks again for your insight and kind help.

  • Aerender rendering and SWF files

This is for AE 10.0.2 under Mac OS Snow Leopard 10.6.7.
I am having trouble with the "aerender" command line utility.  It simply cannot render SWF elements.  Any layers whose source is a SWF file come up blank in the render.
I have tested this on multiple computers, and it seems to be consistent.  It happens whether or not I use the 'reuse' argument.  These comps render fine within the AE GUI (but not with -reuse).
Is there something I am missing here?  I would really love a solution for this, as it has really crippled our render farm.
    Thanks!!

Sorry, I would like to revisit this.  It is a major problem.
I am running the AE dept. of an animated TV show, and without being able to use a render farm, much time is wasted with manually rendering things.  I would really like to find a solution to this problem.
I have tried every which way to automate this, using aerender, writing my own Javascript, etc.  But SWFs seem to be rendered blank unless a human being manually imports them or opens the project that contains them.
My only solution thus far has been to pre-render all my SWF elements as Lossless movies.  This is however too slow, and must also be done manually.  It is not feasible for our pipeline to do this.  We are getting updated SWFs on a regular basis.
Just wanted to throw this out there and get anyone's advice on how I can make SWFs work in my pipeline.  Thanks!

  • Is there a way of running cd's"windows" formatted with inf and swf files?

Is there a way of opening and running CD's 'window' formatted with .inf and .swf files on a mac??

In your operating system, move the photos to wherever you want them to be (keeping the folder tree structure the same), and then in Lightroom re-link via http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm

  • Protecting EXE, PDF and SWF files from piracy

I am hoping others in the community have some experience with protecting their Captivate output (EXE and SWF files) from piracy.  We will be selling our eLearning products developed with Captivate through our online store and want to protect them against file sharing and other forms of piracy.  I have found several companies online offering DRM (digital rights management) and SAS (software activation services) that require users to enter a license key to use the products.  I am looking for any recommendations from users who have implemented these types of services.  What provider did you use and what issues did you encounter.  Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,

Most of the tools I have seen are geared towards extracting
resources from swf's. I use one myself (eltima.com) for
"harvesting" manufacturers content for my motorcycle dealers. They
are authorized to use this content, but finding someone at Yamaha
of Kawasaki or any of the majors who even knows where to find these
resources is next to impossible. I have also used it to learn from
by viewing scripts, but as you say, at the end of the day, I think
the concepts and best practices are about the only thing worth
taking away from others efforts, not the code.
Unlocking a protected file can be done as well and I remember
using a product over a year ago to get at the scripts within an swf
(I wanted the URL's that pointed to media - it was legal for me to
do this). It ran from the command line and output the scripts.
There aren't too many of these types of programs to be found, but
    they exist.
My personal opinion is that it's not worth the effort. My
java classes can be decompiled and if someone wants to go to that
trouble, more power to them. To my knowledge, there isn't anything
out there yet that is perfect for backwards engineering an swf into
an MXML file, but a competitor of FLASH Decompiler says that they
can decompile Adobe 9 PLAYER swf's. For what it's worth, I plan on
posting the majority of my code on my flexdev.org site once I get
    it established.
For people who make components for sale, this could be an
issue of stolen revenue if the decompilers get sophisticated enough
to reverse engineer the swc into a usable MXML file. I would be
against anyone who stole code for this purpose, for sure.

  • Versioning of fla and swf files

    Hi there,
I am working on a small flash project with one other
developer and we email fla and swf files back and forth. So far
date/time stamps and file sizes have been good enough for "version
    control".
I am familiar with versioning systems for development but
what about after a release? How can I determine a released swf
file's build version? Date/time stamps can change with copying and
development could have already progressed and multiple version of
the same swf file are out there...
I am surprised that there isn't a built in mechanism to
assign a version number to a fla/swf file (e.g. as part of the
publish profile) that one can then view via the files properties
dialog... or perhaps somebody has to show me the light... :)
Does anybody have a recommendation on how to give a fla/swf
file a version number that can be checked once the file has been
    released?
    Thanks,
    Dan

.. or, Plan B), use QuicktimeX' ability of Screen-Recordings to record while you playback those files in their app.

  • Firefox will not show links to flv files. I get the error message for each flv file: "File not found. Firefox can't find the file at (path) .flv." Any mov and swf files in this same path will show. I can see the videos in Safari so the paths are correct.

Firefox will not show links to flv files. I get the error message for each flv file: "File not found. Firefox can't find the file at http:// (path) .flv." Any mov and swf files in this same path will show. I can see the videos in Safari so the paths are correct.

Is this a webpage that contains a link to a flv file? Please post a link to the page and tell us which link(s) are the problem flv files or else post a link to the .flv file itself.
Alternately, click on one of the sample FLV File links on this page and tell us exactly what happens:
    http://www.mediacollege.com/adobe/flash/video/tutorial/example-flv.html
It might also help if you post the exact error message, including the path to the flv file.
    '''Note:'''
Depending on how you have Firefox set up, clicking on a FLV File link will either save the FLV file to your computer or Firefox may open it automatically in an external application right after downloading (Firefox may ask you first). Firefox itself can't play FLV files so you need a "helper" application (or a plugin for flv files, if ther is one. You can see if Firefox is already set up to download or open FLV files by going to Firefox Preferences and looking in the Applications list. Find the FLV file type in the list and, if the action is "Open with", it should show the application that can play FLV files (e.g., VLC Media Player or Perian). See [[Managing filetypes]] for more information.

  • .css and .swf files are getting generated with Ibot email

I have an Ibot which use to run on daily basis which contains graph and normal table views, .css and .swf files are getting generated and attached with Ibot email to the users. I'm facing this issue from last two days. Earlier there was no such attachments sent to the users.
Could anybody let me know what might be the reason for that?

  • Comparision between Modules and SWF files

I've used modules and SWF files in my flex apps but don't
seem to see or figure out what the basic difference between the two
    is.
I'm interested in comparisions *excluding* file size. For
    instance:
When would one use SWF files instead of Modules?
Are there things possible/not possible when using one or the
    other?
    Any other pros/cons?

Obviously you can use Application SWFs to break a large
application into dynamically loaded parts. Modules were created to
address the ease-of-use issue. Module SWFs provide an easier
mechanism for communication between the Modules and main (shell)
application SWF. Modules also give us a way to enhance that
mechanism in the future which would be limiting if working solely
    with Applications.
Further, Modules can be reduced in SWF-size compiling them
against the symbols loaded in the shell application. This makes
them much smaller and faster to download. That was possible with
Application SWFs by using Runtime Shared Libraries. However, using
RSLs is tedious compared to using Modules.
I have an example of using Modules on my blog. The example
covers the size optimization of Modules as well as communication
    with Modules.

    Hi friends.....nice to be here.

I´m creating a simply webpage using 2 frames: Top frame and main frame, but my problem was in top frame.
I created an image (like a banner) to fill this frame, not background, an image with name company, phone number etc…..My intention was to put some buttons (using flash) in this image……..but NOT in all image…, so I split the image in two….half jpeg file, half a swf file…….joining this images on dreamweaver later…..
So, on dreamweaver works great……there everthing works perfect…..but on I.E, an BORDER appears, separating the two images

  • When I render my project to a NTSC file for Computer play back, the audio is not rendered and the file has no sound. How do I fix it?

I build my project using videos and photos and I add sound at the end for a few photos. I then render the project to a NTSCDVD Standard file so I can play it on a Computer. Once the file is rendered and I play it, there is no sound at all. I am using Premiere Elements 13, recently installed on 12/29/2015. Previously, I had a trial copy and before I could uninstall it, it disappeared. I don't know if that had any thing to do with my full version.

    richardson
On what computer operating system is your Premiere Elements 13 running? For now I will assume Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit.
What are the properties of your source video and photos and what project preset did you (manually) or the project (automatically) set as the project preset
to match those source properties? In this regard, please tell us the readings that you see under Edit Menu/Project Settings/General
    Editing Mode
    Timebase
    Frame Size
    Pixel Aspect Ratio
even if the fields look grayed out.
What is your choice under Publish+Share/Computer/ which is using the NTSC DVD Standard preset? Are you using Publish+Share/Computer/MPEG with the NTSC DVD Standard preset? If so, are you using the default export settings or customizing them in anyway under the Advanced Button/Video Tab or Audio Tab? If you export your Timeline to Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime with a preset = NTSC DV, does your file have sound in the export with your player?
What are you using as the player for this export?
Let us start here and then decide what next?
    Thanks.

  • Network UNC paths and SWF files not running.

Flash Player wont run SWF files from a network unc path. A map drive works. How can I resolve this?
Our user profiles in window 7 are roaming and the my documents redirects using a unc path to the my documents area.  When the swf file is run, you just get a white background in the player.  The standalone player is version 8 .  We also deploy the latest flash player plugin for ie9 browser (currently 11.3).
I have tried adding the unc path \\servername\pathname to a .cfg file in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\FlashPlayerTrust  as described in the flash player administrator guide.  This did not work.
I have also tried to update the global security settings panel with the unc paths required and copying the settings.sol file to users profiles but this has not made any difference.
    Can anyone help?
    Many Thanks
    Mark

    Thanks for replying Jeromie.
After a bit of digging, I discovered that the problem was with the profile path for users. I am not sure why, but when the profile path contains the fully qualified domain name in it , flash player fails i.e \\server.domain.co.uk\sharename\flash.swf.  when the path was changed to \\servername\sharename\file.swf , it worked.
I changed all the users profile paths and removed their appdata to and now all users can play flash files with the new profile path.

  • Issue with publish settings: html and swf files

In Flash CS5.5 when selecting, Publish Settings: html and swf, the html file does not display the swf from the URL after ftp. The swf file, however, does display from the URL without the html file. My work around has been to hand code the html. Is this a known issue or is there something else that might be causing this to occur?

Here are two examples created by two different students in the same lab using the same software configurations:
    http://www.miszxbrii.byethost13.com/howellanimatic.html
The first frame of this one displays only.

Here it is again with a new html page:

The swf path was the documents folder and another folder on the HD.

  • Random Buttons Appearing in Preview and SWF file

My love/hate relationship with Captivate continues, although it is trending quite a bit towards the latter.  Here's the issue:  I have created a presentation from a powerpoint and when I preview the project, about half of the "slides" have a random gray captivate button just sitting in the top left corner.  This button cannot be clicked.  Just appeared out of no where as no button was ever inserted.
When I view the SWF file, the slides that had the button now have a light pink square in the top left of the screen.
Can someone please explain these phantom buttons/images... and more importantly, how to remove them so I dont have to re-create a presentation that's well into 24hrs of creation.
    Thanks.

Does this button appear randomly on half the slides in the project or only the latter half of the slides?
If there is a particular slide where they seem to start appearing, check that slide and the one before it for any objects that might have been set to appear for Rest of Project but have been hidden on the timeline layers so that they are not visible in Edit mode.
