Chart with vertical Y-axis title having horizontal letters?

I've edited the XML on the Chart Attributes page but I don't find atrtributes to rotate the y-axis title (<text>TITLE</text>) nor the letters themselves in the title. What I'd like is something very close to
T
I
T
L
E
But what I get is a horizontal title rotated -90 degrees. I've looked at lots of Anychart documentation but don't find anything that seems to fit with the XML already given on the Chart Attributes page. I've seen the "rotate" attribute but I don't know where it would go and even then, I'm sure it only rotates the title as a unit and not the individual letters.

That makes sense. So I thought maybe this following script
would work, but it doesn't. Any ideas?
onClipEvent (load)
xcenter=400;
speed=1/200;
onClipEvent (enterFrame)
var distance=xcenter-_root._xmouse;
_x+=(distance*speed);
if (_x > 0) _x=-1550;
if (_x < -1550) _x=0;
if (_ymouse < 450) speed=1/200;
else
speed=1/80;

  • Waveform chart with 2 Y axis

    Hi, I have labview 8.5 and I would like to know if is possible to have one waveform chart with two Y axis, I have two signal from a force load cell and two signal from a LVDT, so I would like to graph in real time what is happening in the process having in one axis the forces and in the other axis distance, how can I do it?
    The problem is the forces are lower than the distance, so if I graph all in one is going to be a big mess or can I just play with each scale of each plot and put everything in one Y axis?

    1) Right click on the Y-axis and choose "duplicate scale". This will give you another Y-Axis.
    2) Optionally right-click the new Y-axis and select "Swap sides" to move the new Y-axis to the other side of the graph.
    3) If not already visable right-click chart and choose Visalbe >>> Plot legend
    4) Right click on a plot and choose the Y-axis it should be associated with.

  • Stacked bar chart with custom x axis labels

    Is there a way to build this simple chart in labview that I did in Excel?  I need to have many x axis labels and there could be from 5 to 100 of them depending on the data set.

    Hi id,
    Thank you for your response. I hope you are doing well.
    There is an example in the LabVIEW Example Finder (Help>>Find Examples..). It is titled, Stacked Bar Graph. You can search for it if you switch tabs in the Example Finder window. This should help you create a stacked bar graph. To help you with your veritcal axis labels, here is a knowledge base link that details the process:

  • Apex Chart with multiple y-axis

    Hi,
    I am using the build-in flash Apex chart which I understand to be a subset of the Anychart.
    I have the following problem, I have two series, which I am displaying in a 3D Bar Chart on a horizontal view with two Y-Axis. This works well, the problem is that each Y -Axis has a different scale. I am not setting the min or max value range for either of the y-axis as I do not know what this value range may be at the time of rendering the chart to the application user.
    So as it turns out, the left y-axis has a value range from zero to 100 and the right y-axis has a value range from zero to 50 and the application users are finding this difficult and confusing as they are only looking at the bars represented in the chart and assuming that as the two bars, i.e. one form each series look similar in size, they have the same value and this can not be further from the true, as one y-axis is showing a value range twice as big as the other y-axis.
    So my question is how do you customise the chart so that the value range on both y-axis is the same. i.e., the largest of the two?

    Thank you

    You can't get axis scale variables to work in the APEX declaritive GUI because it's not designed for that. You will have to switch to custom XML.
    Set everything you want -- that you can set -- because once you switch to XML, if you switch back I think you lose all those custom settings. Then when you set Custom to "Yes", drag the window widget to enlarge the window so you can edit more easily.
    Find the y_xis section of the XML.

    <scale mode="Normal"  maximum="100" minimum="0" />Or maybe it's just <scale maximum="100" minimum="0" />Except instead of constants, you want variables. I'm not sure you can use bind variable (:P7_YMAX, :P7_YMIN) you may have to use (#YMAX#, #YMIN#) variables.
    I would make a new page and experiment with some VERY simple data -- maybe constants in a SELECT -- SELECT ..., 1, 2, 3 from dual ...... until you get what works.
    And, again. This assumes you decide on some computation to compute the values of (:P7_YMAX, :P7_YMIN) or (#YMAX#, #YMIN#) you want it to use.

  • Bubble Chart with legend changes axis dimensions according to labels length

    I have a Bubble Chart with legend on the right. Data are by series and  the series are set  dynamically with a  drop down combo which replace the content of each series from time to time.  Every time the series changes, also the name of the series changes and the legend on the right  shows the new series names. The problem is that also the x axis dimension changes according to the new labels size, so the bubble chart changes its axis width in relation to the labels length in the legend. Is its possible to make somehow the bubble chart axis of a fixed lenght?

    I just got a chance to try out your suggestions, and the

    Hello all,

  • Creating a Chart with a Broken Axis

    I was wondering if anyone had figured out if either this feature exists and is hidden, or if there is some elegant work around:
    I'm a research scientist and would like to use numbers to chart my data. The problem is, oftentimes some data represents a significant outlier, or is some positive control that will always be much higher than the other conditions. Is there anyway to "break" the axis of a chart?
    For example say I have values of 6, 13, 14 and 150. If I graph these, the 150 will far and away dominate the graph, and I'll lose an appreciation of the other values, even if there are significant differences. Is there a way to have the axis display from 0-20, then break and jump up to show 100-200? Its a very common practice, but most software tends to ignore it (the excel workaround is a huge pain).
    Thanks.

    Jerry, thanks for your response.
    Graphing in log scale solves some problems, but is not always the best way to display my data w/o emphasizing the outliers and understating what is relevant. The log scale has its own place, but broken axes is pretty standard fare for the biomedical sciences.
    When you mention overlaying graphs, do you mean the mixed graphs option? Its not a bad alternative, but having two Y axes is not always intuitive, and can be confusing. I've been resorting to simply cutting off the axis in such a way to emphasize the core data, and applying value labels so you can see where the outlier is - but, again its not really optimal.

  • A chart with an X axis ?

    I have equispaced X data and am using stacked plots to show three different values from a measurement.
    Is it possible to wire a 4-tuple (X, Y1, Y2, Y3) in the form of an array to the input of a chart and get a realtime XY1Y2Y3 plot (stacked) ?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
    a chart doesn't allow for an arbitrary X-scale - but you may use an XY-graph...
    Other option is to set the X-scale multiplier and offset of the chart to your needs, either by right-click dialog or by property nodes!
    Using the context help (ctrl-h) you will see the possible input datatypes for a chart.

  • Problem replacing  chart axis title  with &string. syntax

    Apex 4.1.1
    Hi,
    I am having a problem replacing a chart axis title with substitution syntax &P5_MYFIELD., where P5_MYFIELD is an item with Source Type PL/SQL Function Body:
    begin
    return web_message.show('LASTNAME', 'dk');
    end;
    The Item is defined on the same Page as the chart in a different region. I can see that function is working ok, because the return value is displayed in P5_MYFIELD.
    There is a second item in an other region on the same page where the source value is defined with substitution syntax &P5_MYFIELD. It also displays the expected value. But when I use the string &P5_MYFIELD. as axis title it is not displayed.
    I also defined a field P0_MYFIELD on Page Zero with the same function, when I reference that with &P0_MYFIELD. as axis title on Page 5 the value is displayed correctly. I tried the same with a field on Page 1, &P1_MYFIELD. and it is displayed correctly.
    I think, the chart axis title must be substituted before the item P5_MYFIELD is executing the PL/SQL function body to get its value. Can anyone tell me why?
    We want to use string substitution syntax to translate all our labels in different languages. I would like to create hidden items with source type PL/SQL function body for all labels on a page and reference these values as label definitions. I would like to place them on the same page as the labels.
    Thanks
    Anne

    I started the application again and now also the Items are not displayed, only the message 'Label not defined', so I probably did something wrong with the computation. Why the correct values were shown during the first run, I do not know, maybe i did not logout in between.

    Now the correct value is displayed again in the P5_MYFIELD, because I had to set the item source back to PL/SQL Function body, but I am still getting the chart error and the chart is not displayed.

  • Creating X/Y chart with X-Axis labels in between

    Hello all.
    I would like to create a Numbers 09 scatter/XY chart with the X-Axis labels between the gridlines instead of on them.   How can I do this with a line chart also?  Or, does thids format require a Combination chart?  If so, how can what I'm trying to create be made?

    I'll give you the basic steps. I might miss one or two along the way.  The basic steps are to create the chart, remove all the unecessary parts of the chart and set the fill color to none, create & format the table, slide the table under the chart, align the two, then lock them.
    Create a chart from your data. I said the chart above was a line chart but it was actually a scatter chart.
    I'd recommend making up a few "special" data points (overwriting a few points in your actual data for the time being) that you can use to align the table and chart.  In the chart above, I used something like (1.5, 0.1) and (30.5, 0.9), two points that should align exactly with the X & Y gridlines if the chart and table are properly aligned.
    Set the min and max for both axes.
    Size and place the chart where you want it
    Set the fill color to none
    Remove the value labels, gridlines, axes, etc.
    Create a plain table with the necessary number of columns and rows. The one above has 32 columns and 7 rows.
    Put the value labels in the table. I vertically centered the Y axis labels in the cells using the icon on the toolbar. I didn't horizontally center the X axis labels but maybe I should have.
    Make the table borders the color & thickness you want.  At this point, the X&Y axis labels will also have borders.
    Turn on Border Selection in the Table menu
    Select the borders you want to remove and change them to no line. You click on a border to select the entire thing then click again to select a segment. You can command-click to select multiple border segments. Be careful you don't miss when clicking or your entire selection will disappear. I recommend selecting & changing a few at a time
    Select the table and send it to the back using Arrange/Send to Back.
    Slide the table under the chart.
    With the entire table selected so that it has the little squares at the corners and sides, drag on the squares to get the table about the right size. Hold down Command when dragging to turn off snaps. Try it without Command and you'll see what I mean.
    Use the Table Inspector to fine-tune the row & column sizes so the table "gridlines" match the chart. You are trying to line up the gridlines with your two "special" data points. You might want to adjust the size of the chart some too.
    You can move the table around by dragging to get it close to where it should be. You can select the chart and use the arrow keys to move it pixel-by-pixel.
    You'll have to repeat the steps above until everything is aligned. Then you can get rid of those "special" data points.
    When it all looks good, lock the table and chart so nothing gets changed or moved accidentally.
    That was it off the top of my head. It comes out to alot of steps but once you've done stuff like this a few times it gets easy.
